Arty leads Sir Parrik, Bariq, Steven III, and MikMek back into the lair of the necromancer Chetiin to finish the job! They battle watery ghouls and the wraith of former cleric Cassius, then press their way in to discover the eldritch library where the spirit of former warlock Rasprax is held captive by the nefarious Chetiin! An epic battle commences, with clever use of Silence by Arty, Moonbeam by Bariq and Parrik, and other spells to keep Chetiin contained while Rasprax strikes at the characters from within the walls. Parrik summons spectral berserkers with his Horn of Valhalla, and Steven takes blow after blow while MikMek shoots from the shadows. When at last the evil necromancer is defeated, the players regain some old treasures and find a few new ones, including a Cloak of the Bat that MikMek is excited to use.

The Dreamcast may have been a commercial failure, but here at Brothers & Boss Battles, we are celebrating its launch with our next category - games that were initially released on Sega's final console. Low Magic. We've discussed it before and, in last weeks article, DM Chris delved into ideas of how to make magic rare and special in your D&D campaigns. In our discussion online regarding the article, there was a debate over what low magic means. The issue seemed to revolve around confusing Low Magic with Low Fantasy. **Robin Singh is a LAZY MASTERMIND. In this episode we see how his laziness was the key to his success as an online entrepreneur. He started out as a "hacker and a freaker" in India.** Eventually ended up in the US because of a misspelling in an e-mail.(another story for another time Because of his computer skill xp, began selling software - a program that would extract files (photos, sounds, etc) from flash. He promised a 6 hour delivery but hated due dates. He hated waking up or getting interrupted in his daily life. He was sick of it. So he found a way to auto deliver software purchases Thus E-Junkie was born . Initially E-Junkie only supported PayPal, but eventually Google Checkout approached them, so they decided to become a shopping cart platform. He didn't chase Google down. He waited, procrastinated, and they came to him. Later, while relaxing by himself out in nature, in leisure, he had an epiphany where he realized what his greater purpose was - to eliminate consumption as much as possible and create a place that minimizes human and animal labor and suffering. That's when Peepal Farm came about. Some key points he makes about the Lazy Mindset: • He wanted to make money by doing nothing • Didn't want to "sell his hours for money" • $0 marketing budget. Relied on Word of Mouth Marketing. "Get people to do the marketing for you" • Focus on GENUINE one on one connections outside your circle of friends and family to create "weak links" • Find something you're interested in and someone doing well at it, then reach out. • Don' be afraid of not hearing back from people • Don't be a task monkey. • Hone in on what you want (not material). Look where you want to go • You can either purchase lazy freedom or purchase a "thing" that you must work to pay off. • Saving money is easier than working for it. • When you're working, you're not building something. You're building it for something else. • Cut out anything that's unnecessary. Don't follow consumption patterns • Advertisements are designed to seduce you • Things and money are just symbols of success and not actual success • The best luxury money can buy you is freedom • "The best ideas come from leisure time. You're not gonna [be] coming up with great ideas while you'r e slaving away in front of a machine from 9-5. You're gonna have a great idea when you're just chilling somewhere, like hanging out in nature." • If you're going for financial freedom, you have to decide what you're going to do with that freedom • "I am absolutely lazy. I just want to sit" • Even if you don't consume anything materialistic, you still need to eat. Even if you're vegan (like Robin) and eat just a bowl rice, someone somewhere down the line is putting in labor and suffering. • "My life comes at a cost to others" • "I have all this time (excess time) and I'm going to use it to help others" • Lower consumption not to lower materialism but to lower suffering • Laziness is not "I don't want to work." It's somewhat of a fear. Do what you want • Work is a feeling, like home is a feeling more than a place • Embrace procrastination. It's just nature's way of telling you what's important. Use movies and video games and other things in pop culture to influence the creation of events in your campaign Steal like an artist You don't have to have an EPIC campaign. You just have to have a FUN campaign. Always have a back up. Print out sheets or get a book If you like deeply customizing your own campaign complete with stats, go ahead and do it. Laziness is about doing what you like to do, not necessarily the act of doing nothing. Monetize your D&D work (or any other hobby work) Youre' the DM. You make the rules. Use your role as DM to experiment with game mechanics if you deicide you want to create your own table top, board, or card game Eli5. Make your campaigns so easy a kid could play if you have a group of noobs Scale the difficulty and complexity with the amount of real DnD playing experience your group has. Communicate with your players OOC to see what kind of goals they have for their character Keep the story flowing, even if something unpredictable happens. Hated going to classes The “wake up moment” where he realized he wanted to get out of the 9 to 5 grind (and go back to the lazy college student lifestyle, without needing to show up to class) was when he was filling out applications that asked him to write an essay on why he wanted to work for that company. He started making a living using matched bets on sports betting sites in the UK, taking advantage of “free money to be with” promotions. Had an opportunity to build an 8 or 9 figure salary with atech start up but TURNED IT DOWN because it was too much work. ONLINE MONEY-MAKING TIPS: Viral marketing with table tennis progress over a year but it's better to make CONSISTENT quality content, rather than one big hit. Blogs are good for SEO,but not so much for building a connection. It's good at letting people find you in a search engine but not for keeping them around. That's what podcasting is good for. People say he's “NOT lazy” because he's running several business. He says it's not really work because he's doing what he wants. He lived as a Digital Nomad, traveling with nothing but a laptop and backpack but eventually got bored of “being a tourist” and decided to start his own business Turn your drinking problem into cash flow. THE OREGON TRAIL has been called the world's longest graveyard. It's a 2,000-mile road that averages one buried body every 80 yards. Out of the 350,000 emigrants that traveled along it, one out of every 10 died along the way. There were lots of ways to kick the bucket on the Trail. Blood poisoning was a popular way to go — in those pre-antibiotic days, a minor scratch from a wagon fastener or prick from a thornbush could quickly go septic. And accidents — people getting run over by a wagon wheel, stepped on by an ox, or falling off the wagon and landing badly — were also common. So it's actually pretty ironic that the worst part of the whole trail was, in terms of body count, relatively benign compared with the rest. That hasn't prevented some great ghost stories from developing around it, though. I'm talking about the dreaded half mile of 60-degree slope on southwest side of Mount Hood known as Laurel Hill.
