There are two secret endings to Kingdom Hearts 2, both of which leave pieces of a larger picture showing a seemingly tragic past for these mysterious knights. Talking about a classic videogame franchise that combines Final Fantasy with Disney, as well as discussing the merits of event-based metaphysics, Joshua Noel, Christian Ashley, and Joe Dea have a great time in this episode! We go over the ontological arguments the Kingdom Hearts franchise speaks to regarding what makes us, us! We also discuss how everyone in the games seems to either be revealed to be Sora, Kairi, or Xehanort, and whether that tracks with Christian thought on how we are all in relationships with one another!.Is Kingdom Hearts a hack and slash? Is Kingdom Hearts a spin-off of Final Fantasy? What is Kingdom Hearts a metaphor for? What is the message of Kingdom Hearts? What does Kingdom Hearts teach us? What is the quantum entanglement theology? What is the entanglement theory? What is the doctrine of entanglement? What is ontology in simple terms? What is ontology in theology? Are we defined by our parts or are we something more? What role do our memories play in defining who we are? We discuss all this and more in this one! #Ventus #KingdomHearts #Theory Ventus is one of the characters that is poised to have a major role in the future of Kingdom Hearts, with his significance dating back to the Union X era among the Master of Masters , to Xehanort with Birth By Sleep, all the way to the modern era. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/the-landi-lodge/support

This time we focus on Sora's side of The World That Never Was. We come to an understanding of both why Sora is the protagonist despite not being the chosen hero of the Keyblade, and what Xehanort's plan has been. Riku takes over once more to finish off Young Xehanort, and Master Xehanort closes out the game with a pitch for the story of Kingdom Hearts 3. Discussion of weird time travel, what it means to be a Xehanort, and more await in this installment!
Often times, I feel a lot of the Themes and Foreshadowing in Kingdom Hearts 3's Disney Worlds often get overlooked. There is a lot to uncover as these worlds alluded to much of what transpired in the endgame with Sora and Xehanort, all the way to KH4, Quadratum, and even The Master of Masters and Luxu Music: @AkiraTheDon --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/the-landi-lodge/support
The first Disney world in Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance is also the wildest tone misfire in the entire Disney Animated canon! Join Sora and Riku as they grapple with such horrors as anti-Roma racism, Catholics, and awkwardly out of place talking gargoyle statues in La Cité des Cloches, because the French would complain if we just called it Paris. We discuss the movie that spawned the world, then observe just how much of it is pared back in the traditional Kingdom Hearts way.

This week, we reached the halfway point of Terra's story in Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep. We go over Terra's meeting with Xehanort in the Badlands (which isn't playable at the moment). Then travel to the origins of Hollow Bastion, Radiant Garden, where we see the Braig who we know will become Xigbar later in the franchise, and see how he gets his scars. We also encounter one of the scenes we will see 3 times from each character. After that, we discuss the worlds of Disney Town and Deep Space.
The tragic conclusion of Terra's route has arrived! We go through Terra's fateful decision to grant the power of the keyblade to a young Riku, confront Eraqus as he seemingly readies to kill Ventus, and have the fateful final battle with Xehanort. Throughout we have seen Terra's hopelessly manipulated path, but we still know of his determination, which explains how Terra's Will began to linger in his armor to create one of the strongest blocks of gameplay driven story Kingdom Hearts has to offer
Terra visits Radiant Garden, eventually. First he has to stop in to talk to various old keyblade masters in the Mysterious Tower and the Badlands, yet he doesn't manage to learn anything. Lots of discussion about Star Wars interweaves throughout as we dig in to how much Terra's arc resembles Anakin's from the prequels and how Braig and Xehanort totally pull a Count Dooku gambit to draw out the darkness in him. Also we begin to put together a theory of how sketchy Merlin actually is. Spoiler: Its pretty darn sketchy.
Let's start Terra's story in Birth By Sleep! After breaking down the specific character controls, we get right to the core of our new bad decisions man, here just in time to replace Riku. Terra fumbles his way through Enchanted Dominion, Castle of Dreams, and the Dwarf Woodland, being picked out as an easy mark by every card-carrying villain Disney has to offer, and some new ones too! John has a hard time telling the difference between Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty. Many tangents are had. Xehanort looks like a nice guy.
That finale just sent me down a rabbit hole. SO much of what I took as fact was proven false, and thats one thing about this series I love so much. Master of Masters, Xehanort, Eraqus? Seeing as Quadratum is in a sense an after life for our beloved characters, I think that opens up a LOT of possibility for a lot of the characters we have seen throughout the series to make an appearance in Quadratum, whether they be dead or alive. It's also been a bumper week for news too, with Project Xehanort announced and the reveal that two new teams are working on Kingdom Hearts titles outside of Kingdom Hearts 3 and Union x. It's been nearly 1 year since Kingdom Hearts 3 has been released and soon it will receive a DLC story expansion known as Re:Mind. Due to how the Xehanort saga concluded and soon learning about the other tale, my guest star, Crunch and I discuss about what this all means and where we stand.
It has been a long road since Sora's first outing back in 2001. Many stories, many characters, many games later we have come to the end of the Xehanort saga. How does it hold up? Not bad - but after watching a special video from Sirskyward on youtube - it made me realize there were some things I would have done differently. Thanks for listening, do be sure to share the podcast, comment, rate and follow to help the podcast grow! So, here are my thoughts. PS - NCPs...yeah meant to say NPCs. I know I know. I also forgot how this true organization had much more variety this time. Meaning Ansem had control over the heartless, while Vanitas had the Unversed, etc. I do apologize for how forgetful I was this episode but I do hope you enjoyed it! I'm also afraid to count how many times I said, "Like I said" in this episode. Find out about what a Kingdom Hearts game is able to do with the Unreal Engine. Will the series come to a satisfying end? Are Darkness and Light two sides of the same coin? What is Xehanort's true objective? Will Mickey ever find true love? What is Kingdom Hearts? Who is the Master of Masters? Why are there more questions than when we began? Some of these and more in our special After the Credits where we break down Kingdom Hearts 3.

To strike down Xehanort, we need the podcast Mickey spoke of in his letter! Welcome back to the podcast! This work has been a long time coming and fans of the series probably never thought it would come out at some points. After delays and issues in making it, it finally released to droves of ravenous fans. I’m talking, of course, about this episode of the NOCLIP Podcast on Kingdom Hearts 3. Kingdom Hearts is one of those franchises that earned a lot of die hards and the third main series game being the conclusion to the story arch that began in the first Kingdom Hearts meant that a lot of people were understandably excited for it. Now that it has released, though, the reception has been decidedly mixed, particularly among those most enthusiastic about the series. We break down the game mechanically and narratively to figure out why that is, as well as to express our own points of interest and disappointment. We’re going to talk about combat flow, the value of visual spectacle, writing consistency, emotional character moments and what definitely is and is not a boat. Thanks for bearing with us on the not-quite-13-year development cycle of this episode. Given our history with the series and the monumental nature of this release as well as the indecision around it we wanted to make sure what we released was at our standard of quality. We hope you enjoyed the episode, and join us next time when we talk about Katamari Damacy!
Seven weeks ago, we at Waypoint set out on a journey to untangle the lore of Kingdom Hearts. Partially, this was for our listeners who trust our expertise in all matters of the heart, but in honesty, it was mostly for ourselves. We, perhaps like you, had been plagued by questions about the Disney-Square collaboration. These were not novel questions, we know, and to series diehards they were simple: Why do so many people have the letter X in their names. Who was Xehanort, and what did it men to be norted? What's up with Mickey Mouse's shirt situation? How many different ways can you write out the sound "key"? What's more powerful, friendship or darkness? We learned, of course, that many of these questions were deeply connected. Especially the one about Mickey's naked chest. What we didn't anticipate, though, were all of the complex questions that went beyond lore and into the realm of philosophical inquiry: If there are bodies, souls, and hearts, where does the person reside? If some people are drawn inexplicably to the darkness, does that relate some terrible truth about their eternal character? Should we think of the unfractured world (before the First Keyblade War) as an uncorrupted, Rousseauian state of nature or as a violent, Hobbesian land of unrepressed violence? And speaking of repression, what the hell is up with memories? These are big questions, and we could not answer them alone. That is why Waypoint's intrepid lore master, Natalie Watson, and I followed the example of Sora and sought allies for this difficult journey. Which is why, joining us today are Waypoint columnist Cameron Kunzelman and games academic Michael Lutz, the co-hosts of Game Studies Study Buddies over on the Ranged Touch. Together, we dive into all of these questions and more. Though we left with even more questions to answer, the experience brought us clarity and provoked entirely new modes of understanding. We hope it does the same for you, and if you'd like to dig deeper on any of these topics, a good starting place is the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy.Discussed: The Aura (Benjamin), Neoplatonism, Forms (Platonic and Aristotelian), Existentialism, Identity (Code Switching, Gender Theory, Queer Studies), Dialectics, Ontological Pluralism, Panpsychism, Kingdom Hearts See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
In this video we discuss 7 questions from reddit that are left in our minds at the end of KH3 During the part at the Final World, the star you talk to and says she is waiting on someone, and whispers to Sora, his eyes got big like he knew who she was talking about. Who is this you think she is waiting on? Why did Xehanort's eyes turn gold/yellow when it shows his younger self with grey eyes the whole time? Where TF did Demyx go?? Was Ventus a foreteller? He knew Chirithy and it looks like Ventus is the one Chirithy was talking about in the Final World. Who is this girl that Ansem the Wise did experiments on? Is she the star in the Final World? And is she the same "she" that Isa and Lea knew but disappeared on them? Sora. He faded... and then the whole secret ending stuff. Is that showing him waking in this new place and Riku is there too because he went after him? Last and not least, where is Ava and what part was she off doing that Luxu/Xigbar mentioned? I know she was building the dandelions and keyblade wielders but that was before the first keyblade war right? Fanfics read: Snow (by Monik-chanlove) Desire (by DarkRiku0) Readers: Stevo, David, Val, Shawn So, full disclosure: I have never attempted to watch more than 20 seconds of a PewDiePie video ever. I don't care enough to. And I don't know who this Cry-character is that's also apparently a YouTuber. But we tried to read an MPREG fanfiction about them! Snow, which was apparently run through some kind of translator, goes full-daytime-soap on us before we switched over to the hottest Kairi X Kairi(?) fanfic we've read on a Wednesday night in February of 2019! That's not saying much though. I honestly can't tell if Desire fizzled or sizzled because I'm currently filled with 19 different variants of Xehanort and at least two Soras. Episode 5 of Kingdom Hearts and Other Stuff marks the first time a Super Nerd Pals host guests on MY show, instead of the other way around. SNP co-founder and fellow Kingdom Hearts aficionado Andy Carasquillo joins me this week, equipped with the topic of Xehanort. We talk about his plans, his motivations, his Organizations, his keyblade, and all of his different forms throughout the Kingdom Hearts series. We get sidetracked here and there, but it always comes back around to the big bad himself. Note: I forgot to mention to Andy before recording that I want to keep KHAOS rated PG, so I had to censor a handful of his colorful comments. Don't worry though, I made them more fun! Another note: I mention this in the show too, but we recorded before E3 and even the KH3 Premiere Event, so there's a bit of outdated information that we discuss. Rest assured that we're both up-to-date with the latest and greatest! You can find Andy on Twitter, @SweetJusticeOne, and on the Super Nerd Pals podcast, right here on this website, where you're reading this!
Folks, it's that time of year again. Except this time--THE BOYS. ARE BACK. IN PODCAST TOWN. Yes, Stan and Andy are the only ones in the booth this week which means they spent half the podcast time talking about Kingdom Hearts. OOPS. On the bright side, they do get around to talking about their favorite games of E3 2018 eventually. Enjoy!
Can you believe that the Kingdom Hearts franchise is now 16 years old? We can't either! And that's what we're talking about today as Branden is joined by Churro to talk about what it's like to have been a fan throughout the years. The guys also talk about how their perceptions have changed over time, whether or not the wait has been worth it to see a conclusion to the Xehanort saga and where they want the series to go now! And of course, there are the customary questions about all sorts of things, from Kingdom Hearts 3 appearing on Switch to some classic lore. We hope you enjoy!
HELLO FRIENDS. Enter Kingdom Hearts quote here! We really gotta express the fact that resident Kingdom Hearts SUPER enthusiasts Andy and Zak got together to record this special episode for you all where they literally talk about Kingdom Hearts for almost forty minutes. It happened, it was great. IN THIS EPISODE: The duo break down the most recent Kingdom Hearts 3 trailer, Zak takes a shot at predicting the KH3 release date, they talk about their favorite worlds, and Zak reviews Boss Fight Book's latest title Kingdom Hearts II, by Alexa Ray Corriea. Did Zak enjoy the book? How many Xehanorts DOES it take to screw in a light bulb? Only one of these questions gets answered on this episode of Super Nerd Pals! Check it out! You can check out the book here, if you like: https://bossfightbooks.com/products/kingdom-hearts-ii-by-alexa-ray-corriea
With this saga set to end with Kingdom Hearts 3, the main focus for the 91st episode of Kingdom Hearts Union relates to who the new villain will be in future titles! This was a topic suggested by two community members and Branden is joined by Churro and Sabrina to discuss who will be replacing Ansem, Xemnas and Xehanort. Additional topics this episode relate to an ideal length of game for Kingdom Hearts 3 to be and whether or not mechanics related to buying items from shops should be altered for the next major iteration in the Kingdom Hearts franchise.
Welcome to the first Kingdom Hearts Union episode of 2015! The gang is back to ring in the new year with all things KH. Branden, Churro, and Sabrina jump right into the fray. First up is the news but not much has been released since the special KH holiday special. However, we did get footage from the KH2.5 launch event and Yasue tells us that development for KH3 is moving along at a pace. In lieu of news, the trio spends some time with a special segment in which they recommend games to play in 2015 to hold your interest while we wait for the next KH installment to hit stores. They all offer suggestions of SE games coming out in 2015, non SE games coming out, and even past games that you should play if you haven’t already! You will certainly not be hurting for titles to play! Next up are your questions and this show finds the group discussing topics such as Riku’s relation to Xehanort, favorite key blades and why, and what will happen in the final battle with Xehanort. And rounding out the show is a customary remix and we kick off the year with a beautiful piano rearrangement of Dearly Beloved. We can’t wait to see what’s in store for 2015 and we hope you guys will join us for what’s sure to be a crazy ride!
Hello to our fellow Kingdom Hearts fans and welcome back to another episode of Kingdom Hearts Union! Branden, Churro, and Sabrina sit down together and dive into a discussion about all things KH. First up on the docket is the news. The gang talks about how KH2.5 HD has been released in Japan and that there are spoilers for you to check out on the internet. However, don’t worry, we don’t talk about them at all! They also talk about the recent announcement that KH3 is being developed in the Unreal Engine. What does that mean for the game and how will it make the game better? Listen in and you’ll find out! After the news, the trio moves into a brand new segment called KH University. This segment is designed to help everyone understand the more complicated and esoteric parts of Kingdom Hearts. Let’s face it, Nomura hasn’t made the story terribly easy to follow and KH University will help you unravel the mystery and confusion. The first chapter in this new segment is all about Xehanort! Immediately after KH University, the gang jump into your questions and this show, they talk about whether or not Birth By Sleep Part 2 will actually be developed and released or if it’s just an empty promise. The show comes to close with a wonderful cover of the Halloween Town theme song that you’re going to enjoy! Are you as excited for the future of Kingdom Hearts as we are? We hope you are and we’ll see you guys again in just a few weeks!
Welcome back everyone to the 57th episode of Kingdom Hearts Union, your one-stop shop for all things Kingdom Hearts. Branden is joined by Churro and very special guest Sabrina, and they don't waste any time getting down to business! First up is the news that you need to know. There isn't much in the way of brand new info so the crew spends time getting you caught up and reminding you on what you need to know. Listen to hear about the KH1.5 release information, the TGS updates for KH3, and the KH Manga review to check out! They then jump straight into your responses to the previous Burning Question which was hearing how you felt when KH3 was announced. Your answers were heartwarming and incredibly touching which brought about a lot of nostalgia for the hosts. The next BQ is a big one that you'll want to respond to: "What do you think Square Enix will reveal at TGS for Kingdom Hearts 3?" And then your questions for the trio; we have some good ones! Listen in as they discuss Sora as the protagonist after the Xehanort saga, would Disney buying Square Enix be a good or bad thing, and whether or not KH3 will be longer than KH2. The show rounds out with its customary music segment which is a wonderful mashup of different Kingdom Hearts songs; you won't want to miss it so listen through to the end! KH1.5 is ALMOST HERE; stick around and we'll all experience it together!
