This Thursday on Ep. 30, Join Us Tonight LIVE for Our “Haunted Holiday Quick-Fire Round Episode”as we're dragging the darkest corners of Christmas into the glow of the tree: ✸ Lightning-round questions about Grinch hearts, Misfit Toys, and which nightmare holiday monster is coming for you ✸ The haunted legends behind your pickle, spider, bells, and that hobby horse that rocks when nobody's watching as well as whispering ornaments, unusual Christmas Traditions, signs from Loved Ones in Heaven ✸ Krampus, Grýla, the Yule Cat, and every whip-wielding, child-eating Christmas demon you never asked to meet ✸ Whoville vs Halloween Town vs Die Hard smackdown & much more…. ✸ And to send you into the night: a chilling listener-submission story about the ornament that remembered her name (Put on your favorite Christmas Jammies… and maybe don't decorate alone). Grab your eggnog, hot cocoa or your coffee, as we know we have some coffee connoisseurs in our audience
Send us a textToday we're bringing you our reviews and unhinged deeeep dives on two of the most “cringy” sounding Thanksgiving themed romance novellas we could find on Kindle Unlimited. As we continue this time honored tradition of bringing you the holiday smut, we want you to know that even if we don't love it (but hey, we might though…) we're happy if you do. Because there truly is something for everyone, even if that something is three turkey basters with the capability to impregnate you with their… juices.
It's two IKWYWIT90S firsts - a BRAND-NEW special guest AND our first/(maybe last?) DCOM (Disney Channel Original Movie)! It may also be one of the episodes in which we most equally discuss the good (Grandma's bag, Sophie, the concept of Halloweentown); the bad (the execution of Halloweentown, Marnie and Dylan's teenage-ness); and the ugly (apparently "handsome" Luke). This one's unapologetically for all of our 1998 mortal-kids-wishing-they-were-witches!
After 80 DCOMs we've concluded our 3rd year of the podcast, as well as the Halloweentown franchise. It's time again to take a look back at the last 10 movies and add them to our ranking. We also read some funny reviews!

Did you know that there's a town in Oregon that turns into Halloween Town every October? Yeah, me neither. I checked out this documentary about the town of St. Helen's Oregon, where the town brings in nearly 60,000 people each year for their Halloween Town celebration. Is the town haunted? Is it cursed? Is there a Karen who absolutely hates this celebration and wants it to stop? Check out my review of The Spirit of Halloween Town! Avery sits down with Disney Channel icon Kimberly J. Brown for the coziest kind of nostalgia trip…the kind you can watch with your kids. Kimberly looks back on booking Halloweentown at 13, what made her character Marnie feel brave and real, and why the movie still lives on repeat every October. She shares sweet, funny stories about filming, practical “movie magic” before heavy CGI, and the warmth and wisdom she learned from Debbie Reynolds. They talk growing up in the industry with balance, stepping away for college, and reconnecting years later with her now-husband (and Halloweentown II co-star) Daniel Kountz. Kimberly also gives a peek at her new Hallmark movie Haul Out the Halloween and why it delivers maximum cozy fall vibes. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. See pcm.adswizz.com for information about our collection and use of personal data for advertising.
If you were making a film and one of your characters was a petulant manbaby who was obsessed with rules, spent half of the film in a costume store pretending to be Gandalf and could only become aroused by enforcing the rules of the local homeowners' association, you'd imagine that character would be the villain, right?Well, welcome to the Hallmark Channel's Haul Out the Halloween, where not only is this character, Jared, not the villain, he is also the romantic lead and deuteragonist, alongside his wife Emily. Emily and Jared live on Evergreen Lane, known as the most festive street in America, on account of how they go all in on Christmas decorations every year. But while they love Christmas, Halloween is banned because Emily got scared by a scarecrow once 25 years ago, and then her grandma died of unrelated causes several weeks later. But with the arrival of new spooky neighbours, played by Marnie and Kalabar Jr. from Halloweentown, the residents of Evergreen Lane decide that it might be ok to put up some plastic pumpkins this year, and still manage to turn it into a stressful ordeal because these people can't do anything right. Anyway, listen on for one of the most baffling films we've ever watched on this podcast, and enjoy! If you crave bonus episodes of Mom Can't Cook!, monthly livestream watchalongs, or a shoutout at the end of the show, remember to check out our Patreon at Patreon.com/extrahelpings.If you've watched Haul Out the Halloween and have your own thoughts, email them to us at momcantcookpod@gmail.com for a chance to have them read out on the show. Produced by Danny Elfman and Caroline Thompson, this beloved cult classic bridges the worlds of Halloween and Christmas in one unforgettable tale. The film follows Jack Skellington (voiced by Chris Sarandon – Fright Night, The Princess Bride, with singing voice by Danny Elfman – Oingo Boingo, The Simpsons) as the Pumpkin King of Halloween Town who grows bored with his spooky routine and stumbles upon the magic of Christmas Town. On this week's exciting episode, the guys delve into a captivating discussion centered around the beloved Halloween classics, Hocus Pocus and Halloweentown. They explore the unique themes, characters, and cultural impact of both films, highlighting how each has carved out a special place in the hearts of audiences over the years. The conversation takes a nostalgic turn as Cody shares with Joe the recent addition of Something Wicked This Way Comes to Disney+, a film that many remember as a chilling yet fascinating tale from their childhood. He reflects on the stark contrast between the scariness of children's movies from their youth and the more sanitized versions available today, sparking a debate about how the portrayal of fear and adventure has evolved in family-friendly cinema. Cody also recounts an exciting personal experience, revealing how he and his partner Paige recently won a massive 12-foot-tall skeleton in a local contest. This impressive decoration not only fulfills one of Paige's long-held dreams but also adds a thrilling touch to their Halloween festivities. The guys discuss the joy of decorating for the season and the fun that comes with embracing the spooky spirit of Halloween, sharing tips and ideas for creating the perfect atmosphere. In another segment, Joe shares his recent culinary adventure with his family during a trip to Wickenburg, where they visited Capital Farms Meats & Provisions. He describes the delightful experience of exploring the local food scene, sampling various gourmet meats, and discovering unique provisions that reflect the region's rich culinary heritage. The conversation flows as they discuss the importance of family bonding over food and how such adventures can create lasting memories. Finally, Cody brings up some intriguing news regarding the prolific author Stephen King, revealing that he is currently working on two new novels. He discusses the significance of this announcement, especially in light of King's decision to take a break afterward to spend quality time with his family while he is still in good health. This leads to a thoughtful conversation about the balance between creative pursuits and personal life, as well as the impact of King's work on the horror genre and literature as a whole. The episode wraps up with reflections on the importance of storytelling, both in film and literature, and how these narratives shape our understanding of fear, adventure, and personal connections.Official Website: https://www.comesnaturallypodcast.comOfficial Merchandise: https://shop.spreadshirt.com/comes-naturally-podcast/iTunes: http://tinyurl.com/kqkgackFacebook: http://tinyurl.com/myovgm8Tumblr: http://tinyurl.com/m7a6mg9Twitter: @ComesNaturalPodYouTube: http://tiny.cc/5snxpy

This week on Freakquels, local warlocks Shane and Leo Purdy take EJ and Rory to a deserted alley in Halloweentown…so they can mug them. After the mugging, Leo taught the gang his favorite game, “where'd your teeth go?” A game where there are no winners…only bloody sneakers. Beaten and broke, EJ and Rory decide to review the Disney channel original film, “HALLOWEENTOWN” to distract them from the fact that they now look like Jack-o'-lanterns.

"Being normal is vastly overrated!"On today's episode, we're putting on our best costumes and boarding the mysterious flying bus filled with ghouls and goblins, as we revisit one of the most beloved Disney Channel Original Movies, Halloweentown (1998)The movie kind of speaks for itself and is beloved by many folks, so I chop it up about my own experience with this film, some of the things the movie is trying to teach the youngs who've seen it, and just how wacky these special effects are.Intro/Outro Music: "Phantom Fun" by Jonathan Boyle----Show E-Mail: cultcinemacircle@gmail.com----Follow Cult Cinema Circle on Instagram, Bluesky, and Letterboxd Hosted on Acast.
