A podcast talking about the movies we both love sometimes with some special guests!
Frederick Gautier, McKinley Chesley
We’re back! After a long hiatus we have our latest episode Goodfellas up now! It’s one of Martin Scorsese’s best films and we all love it dearly. We are joined by our friends Lucille Vaccarelli and Leo Ortega You can find Leo’s amazing photos at https://www.instagram.com/cheeksonfire/ Thank you all! --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
Spike Lee FINALLY won an oscar for his adapted screenplay on this TRUE story. Based on real events we should say. Either way this movie is fantastic. Adam Driver really gives it his all in this, which earned him an Oscar nod. John David Washington really puts on a performance that sadly, wasn’t recognized in the same way. An actually Crime. If you haven’t seen this movie yet, GO DO THAT NOW. But make sure to download this podcast for later. Because as always, this is SPOILER FILLED. Thanks everyone for your support!
This movie is a tough watch, but necessary. A true story of a day in the life of Oscar Grant who was tragically murdered. This is Micheal B Jordans first movie with Ryan Coogler and the start to their careers in many a film together. Kinley and Frederick talk that talk about this movie and many other things as always. Enjoy the podcast!
Welcome back to another episode of Misquotes a movie podcast. Today we have Lucille on the podcast again (She was on Joker) and we talked about Shutter Island. We needed someone with her Mental Health Background to talk us through some of the ins and outs of this movie and what things they got right, and didn’t get right. Other than that this might be the most slept on movie of Scorsese’s later half of his career and it’s not even close. DiCaprio is amazing (per usual) and Mark Ruffalo does a great job alongside with a very earnest performance. Enjoy the podcast!
Sergio picked this film for us to cover and be featured on this Pod and we were all about it! We love Denzel. Sergio is a speed runner and you can catch him on his twitter / twitch doing his thing. This was a fun podcast to record all around. 2000‘s movies are always a nice way to look back a couple decades ago and see how much has changed
Today’s episode features a very special guest, Jones! He‘s McKinley‘s Friend living in Denver. We had a really great time recording this podcast and hope you all enjoy this movie as much as we do. Gone Girl is based on Gillian Flynns novel of the same name. She also wrote the screenplay which isn’t very common in hollywood. Directed by the fantastic David Fincher. This was a movie we HAD to cover on this podcast eventually. We were glad to have Jones pick it as his movie he wanted to cover. Thanks all ! Enjoy the show .
Kinley and I aren’t the biggest superhero movie film buffs. We appreciate all art for what it is! This movie is definitely art. It’s fantastic, endearing, funny, and all around amazing at times. We really enjoyed this movie all around. Shout out Micheal B Jordan.
Kinley and Frederick have been wanting to cover this movie for a while and figured we might as well get on with it and get this done! This movie is fantastic and we truly love it. It’s extremely well written (see Jordan Peeles Original Screenplay Oscar for Get Out) and amazingly acted. It’s a horrifying movie all around and we talk the ins and outs of the whole movie. This episode is accompanied with music By Cory Still.
We wanted to have a special episode for you all for St. Valentines Day. After Parasites Historic win why not highlight another Historic winner of the Best Picture Oscar, Moonlight. Moonlight is the only movie with an all African American Cast to win Best Picture, it also is the only LGBTQ movie to win Best Picture. This movie is utterly gorgeous. The shots, the score, the acting. Everything. We truly love this film. We hope you do too. Listen if you haven’t yet.
Kindly and I talk what we love best about this me. We both were surprised how much we loved this film. Everything about this film works amazingly well. Most of all, Greata’s adaptation of this old story Little Women. We hope this movie wins more than a few oscars but honestly, the oscars needs this movie more than it does. It’s an amazing piece of film. This is spoiler free for once so please check this out and then go see this film ASAP.
Today we talk our favorite movie of last decade, The Social Network. We are joined by 2(!!) guests who actually both chose to cover this film and we were happy to oblige. We really wanted to wait until a guest(or 2) brought up the idea for finally talking about this amazing movie and we couldn't have been more happy to talk this with Ben and Charlie. You can find our guests at their respective twitter handlesCharlie - @5thElement_UKHe’s runs several podcasts, is a screenwriter, and is just all around a great guy with amazing options. The 5th Element podcast is brilliant and worth listening to. Give him a shout out and check him out!Ben runs @HipHopNumbersI reached out to Ben on a whim to have him on as a guest and he responded very nicely to that invite! He runs the best Hip Hop twitter with random number facts on all kinds of artists in the Hip Hop world. He also as a podcast you can find on his twitter page
Our hosts talk that talk about the 10 time oscar nominated 1917. There isn’t much to say except that our hosts were TRIGGERED on this episode. We talk to this movies oscars chances and if it beats our favorite movies of the years at the academy awards.
Is there anything better than sitting down and talking with 2 friends about who’s going to win what at the oscars? Well maybe a couple things but hey this is fun too!We split up all 24 nominations into 2 podcast episodes split in betweeen 2 podcasts! Joe is the creator/producer/host/brain child of Ur Fav Bad Movie where you can hear the nominations you’re missing from this episode on his fantastic show. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/ur-fave-bad-movie/id1483406090PS; While recording this we found out about Kobe, Gigi, and the other 7 peoples tragic passing after a helicopter crash. I left in our reactions during because I think we all need to remember while creating content for ourselves and you all, life hits you in ways you never expected. This isn’t for shock factor, or to gain some extra plays. I left it in raw because of #mambamentality - Need to grind and get past the obstacles life throws at you and try and overcome to better yourself and the world around you.
Nominated for 6 academy awards. Bong Joon Ho’s classism, satire, black comedy, nightmare Parasite has our hosts captivated from the first watch. We talk in length about the movie, and about it’s Oscar chances on the nominations this movie received. Please enjoy this episode!
Today’s episode is our FIRST EVER 4 person podcast and couldn’t have asked for better guests. We had Fredericks longtime partner Lucille on the podcast for the first time ever and her fellow co worker Hector on a podcast for the ages. Joker for 11(!!!) Oscar nominations and best believe our Hosts and guests talk their opinions on that. This is one of our best podcasts so far on this journey and we hope you all enjoy! Thanks for listening.
We originally thought this movie could get some Oscar nods. This was recorded before the nominations were announced. Oh we were so wrong(let down) - This episode is super fun. We talk that talk about what we love about the movie, what we learned around the internet, and ... We also try and do a list of our favorite movies of the year all for some kicks and gigs. Enjoy the episode! (and go see this movie if you haven’t already)
We have today mr. Harold Gil who has been helping us with marketing in many ways. He’s a good dude who lives in the same apartment complex I do. I told him when this movie came out that I was going to see it at the theatre to MUCH OF MY SURPRISE he said he was planning on seeing it at the theatre as well! That’s when I knew I would like him. That’s also how I knew that when we decided to do as many Oscar films as the month allows that THE IRISHMAN would be the one he could be a guest on. This movie rules. Kinley Rules. Harold Rules. Scorsese Rules. Netflix Rules (sometimes..) Enjoy the pod!Frederick
SO we re recorded an episode we first started with but never uploaded. The Shawshank Redemption. But this time we are joined by....... UNCLE RICH. He’s got some opinions, thoughts, and some real good takes. This was a super fun episode and there’s plenty of laughs. Kinley, Rich, and I talk that talk about one of the best movies ever made that is always in the $5 dollar bin at any Best Buy.Cheers! From Zihuatanejo! Enjoy! Frederick
What a year in movies! 2019 has been killer. Marriage Story came out just last month in December and Kinley and Frederick can’t stop talking about it. It’s definitely an Oscar award contender and it’s worthy of many awards. Editing this episode was a lot of fun and the conversation is amazing. Please enjoy!
“Diiiiiigggg thiiiissss “This was such a fun podcast to record. Originally we did this before the holidays, but there was some technical difficulties with the sound. Now it‘s fixed and good to go. We knew going into Tarantino Tuesdays that we weren’t going to cover all of his movies but I am so glad we got to finish with this one. It’s slowly climbing up the ranks as one of my favorite films from Tarantino. I think Kinley likes the movie and is coming around to loving it after this conversation! Let us know what you think! We hope you enjoyed this season! Frederick
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE and thank you for listening to our podcasts. We super appreciate all of the supportafter a long holiday break we are back with an episode about.. our favorite movies of the decade! We agree on some, we surprise one another on our choices. In this episode, we chat about another high school movie, Superbad! There's excellent conversation about the star studded cast, how some of the slander may not live up to 2019 ethics, and why this is Gaia's favorite movie! We hope you enjoy!
This episode was a redo from a previous episode we already recorded. We did the pod and while editing decided it wasn't doing this fantastic movie enough justice. So we re did it and now this is the final product. We had a lot of fun making this episode. We hope you all enjoy!
In this episode, we dive in the high school 80's cult classic, The Breakfast Club. Joined with us is Deanna, Kinley's mom, who saw this movie in theaters (so I guess she's an expert). We dive into our favorite of the brat pack, why the 80's attitude doesn't age well but the fashion does, and what our fav one liner form this movie is.
Kinley and Frederick talk that talk with Carl about Django Unchained. Is it a brilliant movie? Yes. Is it insanely over the top? Absolutely. We deep dive into The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly about this movie and we have quite the time doing so. Please enjoy this all! Share with your friends :)

Join us as we talk the movie Waiting... with the creator of our podcast music and self acclaimed jingle-man Cory Still! We talk in depth about how this movie doesn't age well, including how it relates to the restaurant industry. We also talk our industry experiences and how we love to hate it. Thank you for listening and please be on the look out for more content from us and from Cory Still!

In this episode, we talk all things Tom Hanks, Christopher Walken, and Leonardo DiCaprio as they give us Oscar worthy performances, even if they never got the nod. We also talk the shots, the story, the how, and literally everything about this movie works. We had a lot of fun and giggles while chatting, and we. hope you have fun too!
OK OUT! caught between the Feds and a cold blooded killer. With half a million dollars up for grabs. No one knows how it's going down. Except for maybe ...JACKIE BROWNTHE most underrated movie in the Tarantino universe. I'm convinced it's because people think it was supposed to be Pulp Fiction #2 which it absolutely isn't. It's something so much more. This is the first time Kinley takes the time to watch it and just jump straight into talking about how much we enjoy it. Enjoy the pod! We had fun recording it. - Frederick Gautier part of Misquotes Podcasting Network
Kinley and I have been talking about this movie so often since we have been on this podcast every week. It kept being brought up and we decided to just get it done. This movie is so captivating. The performances, the shots, the story, the how, literally everything about this movie works. We love it (even though the subject matter is more than appalling/depressing) - We hope you guys will check this out. Thank you everyone! Be well. "THEYYYY KNEEWWWWW" - Bill Simmons impersonating Mark Ruffalo on Spotlight who is playing Rezendes.
We begin a new season part of our podcast with Pulp Fiction, part of Tarantino Tuesdays. We deep dive into his library of films that we all love so much. Enjoy some clips, some music, and some hot takes about one of the greatest living directors. Enjoy!
You love this movie, we love this movie, EVERYONE should love this movie. We talk about the in's and out's of the plastics, the actors, the script, what works, and what doesn't in this pod about one of our all time favorite movies. ENJOY!"OMG DANNY DEVITO I LOVE YOUR WORK"
Joe is too funny. You all will really enjoy this episode. We spill some tea on certain thoughts and talk about how much we really enjoy this movie. This conversation goes off the rails at time but hey, that's what podcasting is about sometimes ;) HAPPY HALLOWEEN YA'LL!
and for our first guest ever on the podcast... GAIA. She brings her love of the most 90's movie ever Clueless to the pod for a super fun episode. Revisiting this movie is a blast and I'm sure you all will super enjoy the episode. Be sure to check out Kinley & Gaia on their own podcast "For The Birds"our newest show part of the MisQuotes Podcasting Network.
Martin Scorsese, Leonardo DiCaprio. Hard not to be all the way in on a movie with this insanely talented duo. This is without a doubt Kinleys go to movie (one of them at least) and it's hard not to understand. It's insane, funny, dramatic, and done perfectly. We hope you all enjoy it! "Steeevveeee Madddddeeeeeennnn"
This podcast show is always about our favorite movies and this episode is no different. I love this film more than words could ever properly express. It's smart, funny, endearing, and very very real. Kinley and I have one of our best conversations about this all time great movie. We hope you all enjoy it!
