Spike Lee FINALLY won an oscar for his adapted screenplay on this TRUE story. Based on real events we should say. Either way this movie is fantastic. Adam Driver really gives it his all in this, which earned him an Oscar nod. John David Washington really puts on a performance that sadly, wasn’t recognized in the same way. This movie is a tough watch, but necessary. A true story of a day in the life of Oscar Grant who was tragically murdered. This is Micheal B Jordans first movie with Ryan Coogler and the start to their careers in many a film together. Kinley and Frederick talk that talk about this movie and many other things as always. Welcome back to another episode of Misquotes a movie podcast. Today we have Lucille on the podcast again (She was on Joker) and we talked about Shutter Island. We needed someone with her Mental Health Background to talk us through some of the ins and outs of this movie and what things they got right, and didn’t get right. Other than that this might be the most slept on movie of Scorsese’s later half of his career and it’s not even close. DiCaprio is amazing (per usual) and Mark Ruffalo does a great job alongside with a very earnest performance.  Enjoy the podcast!

Sergio is a speed runner and you can catch him on his twitter / twitch doing his thing.  This was a fun podcast to record all around. 2000‘s movies are always a nice way to look back a couple decades ago and see how much has changed

Today’s episode features a very special guest, Jones! He‘s McKinley‘s Friend living in Denver. We had a really great time recording this podcast and hope you all enjoy this movie as much as we do. Gone Girl is based on Gillian Flynns novel of the same name. She also wrote the screenplay which isn’t very common in hollywood. Directed by the fantastic David Fincher. This was a movie we HAD to cover on this podcast eventually. Kinley and I aren’t the biggest superhero movie film buffs. We appreciate all art for what it is! This movie is definitely art. It’s fantastic, endearing, funny, and all around amazing at times. We really enjoyed this movie all around. Shout out Micheal B Jordan. 

Kinley and Frederick have been wanting to cover this movie for a while and figured we might as well get on with it and get this done! This movie is fantastic and we truly love it. It’s extremely well written (see Jordan Peeles Original Screenplay Oscar for Get Out) and amazingly acted. It’s a horrifying movie all around and we talk the ins and outs of the whole movie. This episode is accompanied with music By Cory Still.  

We wanted to have a special episode for you all for St. Valentines Day. After Parasites Historic win why not highlight another Historic winner of the Best Picture Oscar, Moonlight.  Moonlight is the only movie with an all African American Cast to win Best Picture, it also is the only LGBTQ movie to win Best Picture. This movie is utterly gorgeous. The shots, the score, the acting. Everything. We truly love this film. We hope you do too. Listen if you haven’t yet.  

Kindly and I talk what we love best about this me. We both were surprised how much we loved this film. Everything about this film works amazingly well. Most of all, Greata’s adaptation of this old story Little Women.  We hope this movie wins more than a few oscars but honestly, the oscars needs this movie more than it does. It’s an amazing piece of film. This is spoiler free for once so please check this out and then go see this film ASAP.

We have today mr. Harold Gil who has been helping us with marketing in many ways. He’s a good dude who lives in the same apartment complex I do. I told him when this movie came out that I was going to see it at the theatre to MUCH OF MY SURPRISE he said he was planning on seeing it at the theatre as well! That’s when I knew I would like him. What a year in movies! 2019 has been killer. Marriage Story came out just last month in December and Kinley and Frederick can’t stop talking about it.
