Ray Young Bear is a writer, musician and a member of Meskwaki Nation. He considers himself a word collector, writing poetry in both English and Meskwaki, his first language. And he enjoys taking photos of the birds around his home in Iowa. In the spring of 2021, he was spending time with his grandson, Ozzy Young Bear. He composed a song in Meskwaki about how his grandson enjoyed watching the robins hunt for earthworms. He later recorded the song for a music collection called For the Birds: The Birdsong Project. A baby sandpiper is learning how to get food from the seashore, but when a wave crashed on her, she fears the water and refuses to leave her nest. But when she hungers for food and her mother isn't willing to get her food, Piper builds on her courage and tries again. The short was critically acclaimed by critics and viewers with its story and realistically, detailed animation. I'm such a birdbrain though, I usually put my keys in my pocket, they were just in my other jacket, so I was a bit of a birdbrain. So I guess I can use this term, it's a bit of an insult to talk about myself, but I would be a little worried about using it to talk about other people, because they might feel insulted.So to review, when something is for the birds, it means it is useless, it means it has no value, it means it is worthless. And then when you call yourself a birdbrain, you're simply saying that you're not being very smart in that moment.Hey, let's look at a comment from a previous video. This comment is from Mohd Ags. I've asked Mr. Bob to show us Oscar's house a couple of times. And although each time he said he'd show it in the next video, he never did. I just commented yesterday that Mr. Bob has never disappointed me, but I guess there's a first time for everything. Eduardo then says it's always a pleasure to see you here, my friend, Mohd Ags, nice to see community in the comments. Very cool. And then my response, ha ha, I keep forgetting. In my defense, it's been quite wet where his house is.So Oscar does have a house, definitely, Mohd Ags. And I know I promised actually, it might have been two or three times, I promised to show his house in a video, and there it is. He does not use his house very often. In fact, the house is way out here in the flower field, because Oscar really only uses his house in the summer. Let's take a bit of a closer look at it. He uses it, because he likes the shade. With this in mind, here are a few quick tips to help you get the most out of social media as a new entrepreneur… Do you Tweet too much on Twitter?   Twitter is a fast way to send short messages to business associates, friends, family, and others. You simply enter up to t 280 characters, up from 140, and post. Everyone who follows you gets the update, and you can follow others, too. It’s fun and informative, but it can be addictive! To avoid wasting time, only accept legitimate followers, create a social media calendar and schedule some posts in advance. You can also use programs like Social Oomph, Hootsuite, and others to help organize your Tweets.   Should you be on Facebook?   Before you set up an account here, ensure that it will help your business. Are your customers using this social media platform? If so, add photos, links and messages to share valuable information about your services, expertise and current business activities on a regular basis. Also, respond to posts from others as soon as possible. What about Linkedn?   Can business contacts find you on Linkedin? Take a few minutes to check out this online, networking tool and create your profile. You can search for past and current business associates and send messages. The site provides a great way to stay connected and meet people who can help you move your business to the next level. Just be sure to add value without “bugging” people with your sales message. These are just a few of the social media tools out there. But by familiarizing yourself with the “help” sections on each of these sites, you’ll get a great understanding of how to use them and find shortcuts to save time and effort in the process.
