In light of the recent legal troubles surrounding Sean "Diddy" Combs, a growing number of celebrities are actively distancing themselves from him and his infamous parties. The fallout stems from a series of disturbing allegations, including sex trafficking and violent misconduct at Diddy's so-called "Freak Off" parties, where many high-profile individuals were once regular attendees.Celebrities like Leonardo DiCaprio and Megan Fox have been notably swift in creating distance, with DiCaprio's camp emphasizing that he hasn't been involved with Diddy for years, despite old photos resurfacing from parties they both attended. Megan Fox, meanwhile, deleted posts featuring Diddy across her social media platforms. Others, like Kim Kardashian and Justin Bieber, who were previously seen at Diddy's high-profile gatherings, have remained silent but have quietly distanced themselves as well. Some stars, such as Damon Dash, have gone on record to clarify that they only attended one or two events many years ago, often framing their association as minimal.PR experts suggest that this silence is part of a calculated strategy, as discussing Diddy's legal issues publicly could lead to unwanted scrutiny. Celebrities are now avoiding the topic entirely, trying to remove themselves from the narrative to protect their personal and professional reputations as Diddy's legal battles continue to unfold.Meanwhile, the public outcry demanding answers from these people continues to grow. to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comsource:TOM LEONARD: Which A-Listers will be dragged into P Diddy's drugs and orgies scandal next? Gary & Shannon dive into a chaos-filled segment of #WhatsHappening: from Paramount’s surprise hostile takeover bid for Warner Bros. to tsunami alerts in Japan, a Miami Heat player’s wire-fraud arraignment, bizarre NFL end-game antics, and a Golden Globes lineup dominated by DiCaprio and Sinners. They celebrate the record-smashing PastaThon totals (over $1.29 million raised!), reflect on what makes SoCal listeners so generous, and then spiral into peak studio shenanigans: Gary debating drop-ins, joking about “Santa-based calorie denial,” and amping up for Monday Night Football at SoFi (where Shannon is live @ SoFi)!The hour wraps with a fiery #MotivationalMonday moment from Any Given Sunday and a wholesome story about Indonesia’s first giant panda cub.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Time to pull back the curtain on Tarantino's Hollywood fairy tale. In Part 2, The Popcorn Priest and JJ dive deep into the film's ending, character arcs, and the brilliant (and bonkers) way Tarantino reimagines 1969 Los Angeles. We unpack how Tarantino blends fact with fiction, why the pacing works (even when it shouldn't), and what makes this movie one of his most nostalgic, precise, and strangely heartfelt creations. Here's what's inside:
Wonder. Love. Hate. Desire. Joy. Sadness. The siblings search six temples for an Encode Thought ribbon containing a memory of the Fulgor. Dicaprio finesses the professor, acquiring key keys. Hop sets a sneaky glass trap. Rex establishes his lair defenses: big weight and shotgun. “Mr. 25 movies and 0 hits: it's been a particularly rough quarter for Hollywood. But as I discuss with the cultural commentator David Masciotra, it's actually been a pretty strong quarter in terms of movie quality. From Paul Thomas Anderson's “One Battle After Another” and Jennifer Lawrence's astonishing performance in “Die My Love” to a glitteringly bald Emma Stone in “Bugonia” and Ethan Coen's “Honey Don't!”, Hollywood is producing high quality, relevant material. One problem, however, is that Gen Z has abandoned cinema. Another is that Hollywood's penchant for movies dominated by memorably uncompromising female leads like Stone and Lawrence might be out of step with a broader culture still imprisoned by a nostalgia for a dominant masculinity. Perhaps that's why “One Battle After Another”, featuring Leonardo DiCaprio as a pathetically redundant Sixties radical, is the one hit of the season. And it may also be why the excellent Springsteen biopic, “Deliver Me From Nowhere”, featuring a clueless Bruce trying to find himself by recording “Nebraska”, was such a flop. No, men don't matter, either in Hollywood or in life. Even when they do. One Battle After Another (Paul Thomas Anderson) The season's sole commercial success ($70 million) works because it satirizes everyone. DiCaprio's incompetent ‘60s radical provides comic relief, but it's Chase Infinity's cynical Gen Z daughter who steals the film (even if Gen Z'ers have given up going to the movies). Anderson's Pynchon adaptation makes absurdity central to American identity, both then and now—the villainous Christmas Adventures Club in golf attire perfectly capturing MAGA's ridiculousness.Die My Love (Josephine Decker) Jennifer Lawrence delivers an astonishing performance confirming she's among Hollywood's greatest actors. The film died at the box office despite critical praise—perhaps because audiences resistant to female-dominated narratives won't show up even for exceptional work like this. Her assertiveness and complexity highlights exactly what's missing from contemporary male performances.Bugonia (Yorgos Lanthimos) Emma Stone continues her fearless run in this cultish, visually striking film. Her performance demonstrates creative risk-taking unavailable to today's male leads. Jesse Plemons plays the archetypal basement-dwelling conspiracy theorist—masculine id of our internet age. Its commercial failure suggests audiences aren't ready for cinema that interrogates rather than celebrates American mythology.Honey Don't! (Ethan Coen) Coen's lesbian B-movie homage to film noir, which David Masciotra loved, deserved better than its catastrophic box office. Margaret Qualley's detective becomes a feminist hero fighting idiotic patriarchy without losing entertainment value. Set in Bakersfield and focused on religious hypocrisy, it feels both familiar and innovative. Its death proves even clever, relevant films can't entice Gen Z'ers back to the movies.Deliver Me From Nowhere (James Mangold) The season's most revealing failure. The film captures Springsteen's Faustian bargain—trading artistic integrity for superstardom, making “Nebraska” his final serious work before “Born in the USA”'s commercial conquest. It depicts fierce masculine anxiety through Bruce's mentally ill, violent father and his own depression. Yet it bored audiences with its introspective approach—ultimate proof that even films about masculine crisis can't reach audiences imprisoned by nostalgia for an imaginary American masculinity that never existed. Mr. Scorsese is “Marty” to his friends and “Legend” to admirers and imitators. But he's also still that kid, the "minuscule asthmatic”--as lovingly described by his ex-wife, Isabella Rossellini--who fervently loved both the movies he watched in Times Square as well as the characters that populated the Little Italy of his youth. The results were "Mean Streets", "Taxi Driver", "Raging Bull", and "Goodfellas". But as Rebecca Miller (“Personal Velocity”, “Maggie's Plan”, “Arthur Miller: Writer”) compellingly shows, Scorsese's triumph was not inevitable, nor is it simply the inevitable result of personal history yoked to directorial will. For while Scorsese has an anthropologist's eye, his films are not documentaries (except for the documentaries, of course!) Rather, they are the product of his own prodigious preparation combined with a willingness to trust his actors (notably, DiNero and DiCaprio) to improvise–and, in the end, phenomenal editing shaped by deep learning from the French New Wave as well as his decades-long professional relationship with Thelma Schoonmaker. While his films are often grounded in fully formed literary works, he makes of them what director Ari Aster calls “total cinema”. And while the visuals putatively reign, the music often seems to take the lead, almost directing the camera's movements. And in the end, in complicating the work of what may seem to be one of our most personal filmmakers, Miller suggests that Scorsese's wider purpose is to chronicle “the American project.” You can watch the 5-part series “Mr. Scorcese” on Apple+ Follow: @rebeccamillerstoryteller on Instagram @topdocspod on Instagram and X/twitter The Presenting Sponsor of "Top Docs" is Netflix.

In a year when there were many good films, but few that really were incredible, Martin Scorsese was the big winner at the Oscars ... and for the first time in his career. He finally won Best Director for his gang film about deception, loyalty, and even rats. The Departed is one hell of a ride. A great script, incredible performances by an A-list cast, and memorable scenes make this a truly special film. However, looking back almost two decades, did the Academy get it right? Was it deserving of the Best Picture prize?Listen to film critic Jack Ferdman's take on it as he analyzes everything about The Departed, as well as many other films from that year, and hear which film he gives his Rewatch Oscar of 2006.Download, listen, and share ALL Rewatching Oscar episodes.SUBSCRIBE and FOLLOW Rewatching Oscar:Website: https://rewatchingoscar.buzzsprout.comApple Podcasts/iTunesSpotifyGoogle PodcastsiHeart RadioPodchaserPodcast AddictTuneInAlexaAmazon Overcasts Podcast Addict Player FMRSS Feed: https://feeds.buzzsprout.com/1815964.rssWebsite: https://rewatchingoscar.buzzsprout.comSocial Media Links: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, BlueSkyShare your thoughts and suggestions with us through:Facebook Messenger or email us atjack@rewatchingoscar.com or jackferdman@gmail.comMusic by TurpacShow Producer: Jack FerdmanPodcast Logo Design: Jack FerdmanMovie (audio) trailer courtesy of MovieClips Classic TrailersMovie (audio) clips courtesy of YouTubeSupport us by downloading, sharing, and giving us a 5-star Rating. Rafael Arinelli, Ieda Marcondes, Diego Quaglia e Camila Henriques exploram as escolhas visuais e temáticas do diretor, as atuações marcantes e o equilíbrio entre ironia e emoção. Este episódio contém spoilers - veja o filme e volte para essa conversa intensa e apaixonante sobre um dos trabalhos mais ousados de P.T.A.!• 04m57: Pauta Principal• 1h14m47: Plano Detalhe• 1h34m11: EncerramentoOuça nosso Podcast também no:• Spotify: https://cinemacao.short.gy/spotify• Apple Podcast: https://cinemacao.short.gy/apple• Android: https://cinemacao.short.gy/android• Deezer: https://cinemacao.short.gy/deezer• Amazon Music: https://cinemacao.short.gy/amazonAgradecimentos aos padrinhos: • Bruna Mercer• Charles Calisto Souza• Daniel Barbosa da Silva Feijó• Diego Alves Lima• Eloi Xavier• Flavia Sanches• Gabriela Pastori Marino• Guilherme S. Andy Riesmeyer kicks off the show with breaking coverage of the shooting at a Mormon church in Michigan, with two dead and eight wounded, plus a warning from Long Beach PD about scammers posing as police. He then dives into the January Altadena wildfire investigation, where systemic failures in evacuation orders cost 19 lives, and lightens the mood with a conversation on comedy in the workplace, and why it's not for everyone. Later, KTLA's Jasmine Simpkins joins Andy in studio to talk about Hollywood, and Leonardo DiCaprio's new Paul Thomas Anderson action-comedy One Battle After Another. Jasmine also shares insights from her reporting on the Sean “Diddy” Combs trial.
One Battle After Another is an action-thriller starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Teyana Taylor and Sean Penn. DiCaprio plays a washed up ex-revolutionary searching for his missing daughter while raging against the machine. In this case, the machine is unabashedly racist, xenophobic, and corrupt.
