Lamar Peterson (b. 1974, St. Petersburg, Florida) is a painter whose work explores the psychological and social space between refuge and exposure. For more than two decades, he has rendered the everyday experiences of Black life with a language that merges stylized figuration, domestic ritual, and surreal distortion. Across both painting and collage, Peterson creates scenes where tranquility and unease coexist: suburban gardens bloom into uncanny environments, rooms soften and dissolve into landscape, and figures pursue moments of rest and care even as the outside world presses near. Peterson's visual vocabulary ranges from cartoon inflections and bold color to pared-down forms that verge on the symbolic. In his hands, a gesture—cooking a meal, tending a plant, pausing in thought—becomes a quietly radical act of autonomy. His subjects often appear in transitional spaces: windows, thresholds, and gardens that double as emotional terrain, reflecting the fragile distance between sanctuary and scrutiny, vulnerability and strength. Peterson has held solo exhibitions at Deitch Projects, New York; Carl Kostyál, Stockholm; and Fredericks & Freiser, New York, where he is represented. He has also had institutional solo exhibitions at The Studio Museum in Harlem; the Orlando Museum of Art; the University Art Museum at SUNY Albany; and the Rochester Art Center, among others. His work has been featured in group exhibitions at SITE Santa Fe, The Drawing Center, the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art, the Katonah Museum of Art, the International Print Center New York, and the Yale University Art Gallery. Peterson received his MFA from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2001. He lives and works in Minneapolis, where he is Associate Professor of Drawing & Painting at the University of Minnesota. His career highlights include winning the FEI World Cup in 2005 and 2008, earning individual silver and team bronze at the 2006 World Equestrian Games in Aachen, and taking victory at the 2007 Lexington Kentucky CCI4*. He won team silver at the 2008 Hong Kong Olympic Games and also represented Australia at the 2012 Olympics. Beyond competition, he served as International Technical Advisor for the Canadian Eventing Team (2012–2016), was the Rider Representative on the FEI Eventing Committee (2008–2014), and acted as Hong Kong's Chef d'Equipe at the 2002 Asian Games. As a Level 4 certified course designer, qualified to design at the 5* and championship level, Clayton brings extensive expertise to the sport and the craft of course design. Episode 441 / Colleen Barry is an artist and painter who grew up in NYC whose studio is based out of Brooklyn, NY. She studied art at the National Academy of Design in NYC and has had shows at venues such as Fredericks and Freiser (2023), The Sotheby's Institute (2023), Nathalie Karg Gallery (2023), The Library Street Collective (2024), James Fuentes Gallery (2024), and 81 Leonard Gallery (2024). She had a solo booth in Spring Break Art Show in 2022. Also in 2022 she had a duo NYC DEBUT exhibition with artist Will St. John entitled RIDE THE TIGER hosted by Joanne Tucker and Adam Driver at CAELUM GALLERY in Chelsea. She also exhibited internationally at Art Brussels with EveryDay Gallery Antwerp (2023). She will have a solo show at Half Gallery Annex in March 2025 and one at Ambar Quijano in September of next year as well.  She  took part in the Alma Shapiro Prize residency at the American Academy in Rome and also serves as the director of Drawing at the Grand Central Atelier.

Andy was co-author of the FDNY's Engine Company Operations Manual. He was a New York State-certified fire instructor‚ an instructor for the New York State Association of Fire Chiefs‚ an adjunct lecturer at John Jay College of Criminal Justice‚ and taught at fire service training meetings across the country. The father of two had bachelor's degrees in political science‚ and public safety and fire science‚ and a master's degree in fire protection management. Most importantly, Andy was a kind and humorous man, a friend to many, and a devoted husband and father. Andy left us with a wealth of knowledge. He touched many across the country through his articles, hands-on training, lectures, and videos. His no-nonsense, back-to-basics approach to combating today's complicated and dangerous fires brought with it a strong following. The firefighters who were blessed to witness his instruction have an obligation to carry on his work.
