Norine Brown, a young mother of two from New Hyde Park, vanished right before Christmas in 1990. Her body has never been found and police have never officially named any suspects. But nearly 30 years later, her childhood friends cannot give up their search for answers. These interviews were conducted six months after the initial story aired on News 12 Long Island. With the case still cold, two more of Norine Brown's friends reached out and traveled from out of state to New Hyde Park to continue the search for clues.

Diane Schwindt stirs up history at the Ketcham Inn in Center Moriches, using a hearth from the 1600s. She believes by cooking up history, we get a more authentic taste of Long Island's past.   She says because Long Islanders were walking distance from the water, seafood was a big part of their diet. Eel and venison were classic choices. Schwindt says historical cooking gives you a sense of how hard it was to survive, which would have made Thanksgiving back then truly a day for thanks.

Jenna Jacobsen checked herself into a New Jersey drug treatment facility in September 2018. Without her family knowing, she checked herself out earlier this year and booked a flight to Florida. She vanished in April. Her body was found five weeks later by the side of a road. Police say she was murdered. Her aunt believes she was abducted and killed after being lured to Florida by people known as body brokers.

Danielle visits the Greenport Auditorium for this month's Long Island's Hidden Past podcast. The auditorium, built in 1894, is on Preservation Long Island's list of historic Long Island places to save. Danielle talks to Preservation Long Island's Sarah Kautz to learn the history of the Queen Anne-style auditorium. Popular dramas, musicals and bands, played, pranced and danced across the theater's well-built stage. It was also used as a community center. The theater served as an active performance space until the hurricane of 1938. Its current owners are now considering retiring and are interested in restoring the theater to its original use.

It was December 1990 - almost Christmastime. Everything seemed routine for Norine Brown, a New Hyde Park mother of two. Except her best friends say she had recently revealed to them that there was trouble in her marriage. A few weeks later, Brown vanished on the night before her 32nd birthday. Her husband, John, told police that she had gone to the supermarket ... at 11 p.m. Flyers were posted, a wooded area was searched, and police asked questions. News 12 Long Island followed the disappearance. Norine Brown was never found, and her friends want to know why. News 12 Long Island's Eileen Lehpamer agreed to examine the case in this episode of True Crime Long Island.
