Hey! It's Dina and Becca, two fiery Aries fitness pros who were transplanted from NYC after the pandemic forever changed our industry. After both going through breakups and breakdowns, we ended up cohabitating a 1 bedroom in Florida with 2 cats for a year
Have you suffered from an injury and felt you didn't get the proper care or rehabilitation? We live in a society that puts a premium on productivity and hard work, but sometimes life pumps the breaks. Speaking off...this week we are excited to introduce you to our FIRST EVER male guest on the pod, Dr. Eric Otero. Not only is he our friend and neighbor, but he was integral in healing Dina's broken foot a few months ago. Eric dishes about the importance of recovery...from dry needling, to cupping, to cold plunges. Plus he shares his inspiring path from burnt-out to business-owner. And if all else fails...hear about Eric's wife's OnlyFans venture that he fully supports. This is not an episode about the supernatural, but rather, the super annoying phenomenon of GHOSTING. We polled our listeners and y'all blew our minds with some epic stories about your experiences as both the ghosted and the ghoster. While none of us can deny the icky feeling of being on the receiving end of a prospective romance turned vanishing act, we've been there too and we want you to know it's not you! Naturally it's a bruise to the ego when someone goes dark, but we'd like to help you reframe these scenarios as major bullets dodged. So, the next time you find yourself left on read take a deep breath, put on your favorite dance song, get naked (...if you feel so inclined), and thank the universe for intervening. Nothing meant for you will Irish goodbye...remember that. XOXO! In this episode we answer listener questions and don't hold back anything. From the tattoo Becca most regrets, to the one thing Dina won't dare get in bed before doing, to our own question about why there isn't a Barbie with a bush, lolllll. This is a long one, but a fun one you guys...and for good reason, because we have a major reveal that we didn't even tell Sarah the Queen of Manifesting yet. This might be one of our most serious episodes...up until Becca's belch sends us into a tailspin of laughs that is! But for real, we go IN on the topic of environmental conservation after being so moved by the Netflix docuseries, "Our Great National Parks." If you haven't seen it...GET ON THAT ISH! It's a visually arresting glimpse into some of nature's most protected places on the planet. Watching it reminded us that we can do better, and we even shake on a hard pact to no longer order thong bikinis from a certain brand made famous by TikTok. Imagine how different a world it would be if we all adopted simple habits. We divulge some of our personal earth-friendly practices, plus share some amazing tips from our listeners. Together we can make major strides to keep our collective home thriving. If you're inspired by this episode, please share your conservation efforts on IG and tag us! Reunited and it feels good AF! This is our longest episode of all time (…whoops), but we had a lot to catch up on. Find out what Dina was up to for 3 weeks in Cali, and how Becca kept herself occupied in Florida during her absence. We dive into so many topics including: the perils of impatience, embracing the healing process, how to get a blissful night's sleep, our biggest gym pet peeve, and so much more. It's so good to be back! Hope you enjoy the ride with us. PS - We never explained why the word "dicks" was on our notes, but we'll get back to that in another episode lol. A poem we love states that people come into our lives for "a reason, a season, or a lifetime." But, we all have those forever friends who we know have our back no matter how much time or distance comes between us. This week's guest is one of those true gems and has also been one of the biggest supporters of our podcast since we launched in February 2020. Meet Rebecca Lewis (...that's her maiden name but we affectionately still refer to her by it since she was single when we all met.) Rebecca is a dietician, an avid participant in our virtual classes, and the definition of a true HYPE GIRL! In this episode, we talk all about how to make lasting female bonds even later in life, the dangers of falling in love with potential, and how romantic relationships differ from friendships. Dina also shares about her slightly embarrassing side hustle in college, and Becca recounts her stint as a dancing bear in the mall. PS - We're drinking prosecco instead of coffee in this one so the laughs are flowing hard. #friendships #hypegirls Subscribe to our YouTube channel HERE to view the Video Edition of this episode! If overthinking was a sport, would you have a gold medal? We've been there, and we want you to know it's normal to let thoughts get the best of you sometimes. But, as our podcast slogan goes, "Let's get out of our heads together!" In this episode, we share our tips and tricks for turning down the volume on those "what if" scenarios that keep us up at night. Dina also shares some of her favorite memes on overthinking, and Becca reenacts a dancing cat GIF that is an instant mood-booster. Oh, and Milo (a.k.a. Mr. Sweets, Mr. Fats, Mr. Cutes) makes a bold kitty cameo you'll want to watch the video version of our podcast to see. #overthinking #mentalhealthsupport Subscribe to our YouTube channel HERE to view this Video Edition of this episode! Anyone who tells you "therapy is for the weak" definitely has some issues! But seriously, it takes courage and strength to admit when you need help. As two women who've benefited immensely from talking to therapists, we are so excited to sit down with one of the best in the biz this week. Meet Kristy Case, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and yogi who has supported countless clients through challenging life experiences. She shares her wisdom on the benefits of therapy and how to find the "right" therapist, plus drills down into Love Language dialects and how understanding them can enhance all relationships, not just romantic ones. While this week's topic may seem heavy, we go on a hilarious tangent about Hinge profile dos and don'ts that definitely lightens things up (...like seriously y'all, please just stop with the photos holding fish lol!). What would life be like if you never left your comfort zone? Probably really damn boring if you ask us lollll. But seriously, while we both couldn't wait to flee our vanilla, rural hometowns, there are some things about growing up in the sticks that we really appreciate as adults. That said, it was only when we got vulnerable enough to leave the nest that we flourished into the best versions of ourselves. Happy post V Day! Now that the Hallmark holiday has come and gone we want to do a deep dive on the joys of being single. We recap our rooftop Galentine's soirée, and dish about Dina's chocolate bender (yes, you read that right...it's not Becca this time!) Plus, we share our IG poll results where listeners gushed about their favorite things about being sans a partner. We got some pretty freakin' great responses! As two strong and independent women, we're so proud of how much we've grown through each heartbreak. Sometimes you have to lose someone to find yourself. It's unfortunate that society deems there's something "wrong with you" if you choose NOT to be in a romantic relationship. There's such power in being whole on your own, and only allowing a partner in your life who will elevate it. Shout-out to Iambrillyant for the empowering quote we kick this episode off with! If you're also obsessed with the Netflix series Cheer, or played sports back in the day, you know how cut-throat teams can be. "Second place is the first loser," is a damaging mentality that breeds insecurity and unhealthy competition. Unfortunately this mindset has worked its way into the fitness/yoga world too and we want to flip the switch. As teachers, we pride ourselves on cultivating a safe space for our students to be good to their bodies. We chat about how you can take the mindfulness you practice on your mat into everyday life and focus on how good small "wins" make a huge impact. Is it just us or did 2021 feel you blinked and it was over?! It's natural when endings happen to feel the need for closure. As humans crave clean chapters we can tie up with a bow, but life can be messy. In this episode we reflect on how far we've come just 12 months after the shitstorm that was 2020. We discuss ways to cultivate your own closure instead of seeking it for someone else, plus we share some super exciting deets about Season 3. Thank you so much for tuning in this year! Be sure to listen all the way to the end of this episode or you'll miss out on some gems, like our friend Steph's Snapchat ritual she dubbed “Titty Time.” Cheers to a fucking amazing year ahead!
Let's be real, neither of us are dreaming of a white Christmas because we hate the cold lol! But, Becca is dreaming of white teeth, and all Dina wants for XXXMas is…pretty sure you can guess. In this fun, festive episode we talk about how to stay sane during the madness of holiday time and remember what's truly important this season. We also reminisce about traditions that give us the warm and fuzzies, share our favorite holiday flicks, and Becca just might dust off her Susie Snowflake chops and serenade you into the spirit. Happy holidays! Sending you love and comfort this chaotic season.
We are so excited introduce you to Sarah, the Queen of Manifesting, in this week's episode. She shares her wisdom about daily gratitude practices, overcoming trauma, and killing it as a lady boss. We get deep, cry a bit, but also share so many laughs. Good energy attracts good energy. Sarah is a huge reason Florida feels like home. Can't wait for you to listen! You just may want to rip your clothes off and dance naked after! (This episode is in loving memory of Queen Aggie Cat.)
We've all heard about the love languages but do you know your attachment style? Join us in this episode as we take a quiz to uncover our attachment styles and share some super personal stories along the way. This is #reallifeshit and if you don't know by now, we have zero shame about being open. It's extremely powerful to acknowledge how much you've grown, even if you're not proud of what it took to get there. Our past is what shapes who we are today and makes us appreciate how far we've come. We can't wait to hear what your quiz results are!
There is so much science to prove that practicing gratitude helps us manage stress, and increases our happiness quotient. So why do we only talk about what we're grateful for during the holidays? When we start acknowledging what we're appreciative of on the daily, we start to elevate our lives. In this episode we divulge the top 8 things we each are thankful for…and no, chocolate and sex aren't on our lists (…but let's be real, they should be lol!).
Disclaimer…we don't hold ANYTHING back as we go very, very DEEP this week into the topic of sexual preferences (sorry Mom!). We share listeners' responses to our poll about their freakiest encounters in bed, plus set the record straight (…and not so straight lol) about our personal likes and dislikes in that department. Sure this episode is explicit, but it's also extremely empowering. As women we shouldn't feel ashamed or embarrassed to ask for what we want…in bed or elsewhere. We hope this episode expands your horizons a bit ;) PS - We got so hot and bothered we mistakenly say this is episode 6 in our intro, but it's lucky number 7. Click the link in profile to hear the entire pepisode on @spotify or @applepodcasts
“No pain no gain”…NO THANK YOU! In this episode we debunk some of the most common misconceptions about fitness and yoga. We also share some of the highlights from our retreat-scouting trip to Costa Rica with some Instafamous new friends, and Dina's near-death experience at a giant waterfall.
I think y'all know by now we are both fire signs, but did you know we're also each other's platonic twin flame? That's right, this distinction isn't just for lovers, but also applies to that super rare connection between certain friends. We discuss difficult details about our past relationships, explain the dating phenomenon of “hoovering,” and divulge some of our secrets to becoming whole on your own.
Episode 4: ReTreat yourself Description: We both flew in from abroad a few days ago after not seeing each other, or hardly speaking, in weeks! We'd been leading retreats in Mexico and Greece, and were super “submerssed” in our students and travels. A ton to catch up on, so we're a bit all over the map, lol! Plus this is our first time video recording our morning banter for y'all! Follow @risewithdinaandbecca on IG to see the footage (…and Becca's boisterous hand gestures)! We share the perks of traveling solo, anecdotes from our trips, and the empowering energy of just letting go. Oh…and we also discuss how people disembarking planes in the US are A-holes, and the travesty of only getting 2 weeks paid vacation.
We've all heard about ghosting (…and have probably been ghosted), but there's a lovely new phenomenon in dating called “breadcrumbing.” Did ya sense the sarcasm in that sentence? Lol! As two Aries women we'll be the first to admit that we like attention, but our past experiences in dating and relationships have taught us a major lesson…No more jumping for joy at tiny shards of effort. We ALL deserve more than that, so buckle up for some unfiltered banter about how to say NO to breadcrumbs and get the whole damn baguette.
To quote the worm from Dina's favorite childhood movie, Labyrinth, “Things are not always what they seem in this place.” We are all at some point guilty of drawing conclusions purely based on our perception. In this episode we dive deep into the assumptions people have made about us and how they make us feel. We discuss our passion for making our classes judgement-free zones, and share an unrehearsed tender moment of appreciation for our connection as friends.
We are so freakin' excited to launch Season 2 of our podcast! Thank you so much for joining us on this ride so far. We have some HOT topics we're gonna dive deep into this season but for now here's an update on what we've been up to during our hiatus. Despite our move being a shitshow we are closer than ever…even though we no longer share a bed. It's great to be back on the airwaves! We missed you!
Don't worry guys, what we meant was…we're breaking our pod into SEASONS! This is the final episode before we wrap Season 1. So come take you a walk down memory lane with us, will you? From baring our souls to baring our asses, we've brought you 24 episodes of #REALLIFESHIT and we hope you have tons of key takeaways from our morning coffee chats. Thank you SO MUCH for tuning in! We are so grateful for you.
…you'll have to tune in to find out, but we'll tell you who's not Deborah…this week's SPECIAL GUEST. This one's been worth the wait! They're a pseudo-celebrity in our podcast universe and have so much wisdom and humor to add to our discussion about taking charge and going hard after what you want.
This is our first time recording at night, and it's a VIBE. We hope you enjoy the slower, smoother side of us as we talk about close calls on the highway, toxic competition, and main character energy. We also replace the F word with the C word, just to change things up, lol.
We may have set a record in this episode for most words crammed into under 30 minutes, lol! It was hard not to be super excited though because we've both been feeling an influx of positive vibes lately and we want to share it with you! Tune in to see if Becca followed through with her singing debut at open mic night last week, and find out how Dina spent her penthouse staycation. We also address a listener question that we know will resonate with you. Can't wait to hear what you think of Episode 21!!
It's episode 20 y'all! OMG. We're back with our uncensored antics as we share some exciting developments, including Becca's upcoming talent show debut and some salacious info from Dina's tarot card reading. We discuss the power of manifestation, the beauty of pursing your passions, and share some heartfelt reviews from our students that made us so damn proud.
This week's episode is a little different. We were invited to be guests on the a popular South Florida podcast to chat about how we landed here, and why we started RISE. We snagged the recording from hosts James Spencer and Mike Jones so here it is! It took everything in Dina's power to not drop an F bomb, and Becca showed amazing restraint sharing the spotlight, lol! The missing word from episode 18 plus big news from the Pace/Ivas household!
It's episode 18 and we are getting a bit naughty. Let's be real, sex is a very entertaining subject, and we're getting deep. We read some of our listeners' creepiest DMs (…you guys are the best for sharing these with us!), talk about dating apps, ghosting, and how being single can be absolutely amazing. Also, we chat about Sex Life, the steamy new Netflix series we've been binge watching.
We're back and super excited about this week's special guest, Dina's trainer Cait Giacino! She gets deep about recovering from struggles with an eating disorder and shares amazing insight on sustainable ways to make working out and eating healthy fit into your lifestyle without feeling ridgid or restrictive. We learned A LOT in our short chat with Cait from her gorgeous suite in South Beach after a fun night out together not in leggings. Hope you take some inspo away from this episode!
If the pandemic taught us anything it's that our quality time is precious and life is so fucking short. As the world reopens, and people are forced to go back into corporate offices, fitness studios, etc. it's quite eye-opening to realize that many of us were happier at home. Maybe not at first, but it made us to take a long, hard look at what's important, who we really are, and what brings us joy. We can't wait to hear your thoughts!
In this episode we raise a glass to the queen of all badass boss bitches, P!nk. We love that she's a total rockstar, but also kind, generous, an incredible mom, and loving partner. Plus, in honor of Pride Month we wanted to highlight all she's done, and continues to do, to squash societal constructs of gender roles and empower women of all ages to live their truth.
This one's for the hype girls...your crew who always lifts your ass up. And speaking of asses, we get real about embracing every dimple or scar on your skin and living your best, most authentic life...not only this summer, but every damn day!
It's episode 13 y'all and we answer some of your burning questions, completely uncensored. Nuff said. Hope you enjoy!
Did you know May is #nationalmasturbationmonth?! We didn't either, lol, but hell yes to that! Self-love comes in many forms and it's unfortunate there's so much shame associated with exploring sexuality. In this episode we talk about what we didn't learn in Sex Ed class, Becca's obsession with Barbie and Ken, and our matching purchases at the Pleasure Chest back in NYC. If that didn't hook you in to listen, we give up lol!
Blue zones, energy vortexes, prismatic oceans...In this episode we dive into some of our favorite travel destinations around the world, reminisce about past retreats, and tease future ones. We share your top bucket list spots, Dina's love for slots, and Becca's roadtripping diaries.
We can't believe it's out 10th episode already! This week we talk about our deepest, darkest fears and how facing them in life has been a game-changer. Find out what apex predator Dina thought was in her swimming pool as a kid, and why adulting makes Becca's teeth chatter. We discuss how vulnerability is a beautiful strength, and give fellow entrepreneurs some hot tips on knowing your worth.
