In this participatory virtual workshop, Dr. Noeréna shares her experience and perspective on the importance of integrating knowledge of grief into a recovering person's program to avoid relapse. The impact of loss, change, and grief as an unavoidable trigger is often ignored, under-addressed, or unrecognized in 12 Step programs. This interactive session demonstrates how a recovering individual can walk through the unavoidable trigger of grief in recovery while preventing relapse. Saturday, September 20th, 2025, this year's virtual 2025 ICSAA Zoom conference Black, Indigenous and People of Colour panel featured  Sri, Ramsey, and Hellena as panellists, joining Tracy (moderator).Our panel discusses their experiences with BIPOC-centered and BIPOC-only meetings: why they feel the need for these gatherings and who should be included.   Rick B. loves his secular AA group; he's also a regular at one of the largest closed (AA members and people who think they have a problem with alcohol, only) discussion groups in the Ottawa area. On September 27th, 2025, from the Lord Elgin Hotel in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, the 2025 version of the Secular Ontario Alcoholics Anonymous Roundup featured a day of panels, speakers, discussions, food, and fellowship. Some of us wouldn't have come to AA if there weren't a secular group to go to - it's vulnerable enough to face our alcohol use issues, secular AA was the only way we felt safe salvaging and honouring our worldview while we faced a drinking problem. Other members didn't find secular AA until they were sober and in the closet for many years. Every journey differs.
