Timeless thoughts that stand true whether the season is new or familiar, stretching or comforting, full of hope or full of healing. Here are 5 things to remember in each season you journey through...

To this day, I have never felt as restless as the time I worked in a doctor's surgery, in their window-less basement, processing prescriptions for 8 hours every day. Every morning, Monday to Friday, I would hop in my tiny tin-can blue car and drive 45 minutes to an office that was cold, empty and more uninspiring that my job at a combine harvester company. We all know that hindsight is a wonderful thing, and right now? I'm grateful for the lessons I learnt. But then? Oh my, it felt relentless. There were days where I felt trapped in a purpose-less path with no direction, dreams or conviction that the future would be bright. Everything felt beige in a world that was supposed to be colour and my heart was restless and unsettled. The gap between what God had put in my heart and the crumpled, body-fluid-stained prescriptions I had in my hand was huge. Huuuuuge. But the lessons I learnt then have opened doors of opportunity today. Here's what the uninspiring seasons taught me:
Money can give you freedom or so much anxiety it keeps you up at night and makes your palms sweaty with fear. We all know that it can give you confidence to plan for the future, freedom to be generous, the ability to do things you enjoy. But for some, it can feel like that it so far from reality, it makes you want to curl into a ball and hide. If you are feeling overwhelmed by the state of your money right now, here's some practical steps to help you right now… You grow girl! xo
Let's Talk About Cultivating Creativity with Janina Schneider by Standout Girl
So, here's what I've learnt from seasons of transition – leaving jobs, starting new ones, getting married, having babies, loosing babies, sending kids to school: Give it time. Give your season time to ruminate and marinate and seep into the layers of your soul. Try it on for size and let it blend into the curves and creases. Give it time to break in, like Dr Martens fresh out the box. Give it time to feel familiar, to feel safe – even if it's hard. Don't rush it or force it or expect it to be anything that it's not meant to be. Give it room. Give it space. Give it grace. Give it time.
How do you live single-minded? You know, whole, full and free in a world that says you need somebody to complete you? Listen back to our live Membership Masterclass with Author and Vicar, Kate Wharton as we unpack the topic: Single-Minded – Living whole, full and free in a world that says you need someone else to complete you.
One of my favourite things to do is introspect my body, soul and spirit. I could be pushing the pram, cleaning out cat litter, mopping the floor, reading emails or stirring homemade, bubbling pasta sauce…when I give myself a little check-up. How am I doing? Am I feeling tired? Am I feeling joyful? Is there anxiety in my heart? Why is my mind so full? More often than not, I come out of my little mental, self-therapy session with a few tweaks needed. Things I need to pay attention to, pivot or put in place long haul to make sure that I'm more Nigella, less Gordon Ramsey, more Mother T, less woman on the news for killing people. Here are a handful of things that help me feel a little healthier body, soul and spirit.
Our minds are exceptional, part of our soul created by God to know Him: to know His way, to know His truth, to know His life. They're the engine room created by God with the power and freedom to respond to His endless invitation to discover Him and the good work He's made for us. They have the God-given ability to think, to receive, to imagine, to dream. They are valuable, sacred spaces. And they get assailed. It's not news to you, that your mind is a playground and battlefield – so let's learn how to guard our minds from junk.
Ever feel like it's all on you to deliver and make it happen? Ever push too hard, work too late, strive and not stride? Here's how we can release control to the One who only ever had it…
Let's talk about how to build a healthy marriage. Because despite what you see on Netflix, it's not as easy as you think. Whether single, dating or in the thick of wedded bliss, let's talk about how we can go deep, live pure and love for the long haul. So, listen in as we chat to Christian counsellor, Pastor Zia Deeks. I used to resent the little in my hand. And by that I mean: the little time, the little support, the little resource, the little capacity I had to outwork what was in my heart. There have been so many times where I have despised the days of small beginnings, falling into the all-too-easy temptation to compare my start to someone else's middle. Or you know, my corner of the dining table to someone else's monochrome office. But God delights in the little that you have. And when we pour out the little we have before the gaze and into the hands of our Father, He always multiples. Here's 5 things I've learnt from building a dream during nap times.

Hands up if your relationship with Jesus looks a lot like talking and hoping that He's hearing (ahem, noting down the things you need Him to action)? You are not alone. But the thing is, what we're cultivating is a *relationship*. A two-way communion where He has room and space and an invitation to speak. A two-way communion where it's not our agenda, our voice, our way. We have to learn to receive and be before we give and do. How? Try this one thing for three minutes and see what happens… You grow girl! xo

I used to think that the people who got up before 7am were committing self-harm, not indulging in self-care. The thought of waking up before my kids felt as appealing as kale on crackers. And I put anyone who suggested such a thing, in the same category as kale and crackers. It's only now, with three kids in the equation and the same amount of time I had sans babies (how is that fair?!), that I realise why that lady on Pinterest, with the blonde hair, red-plaid shirt and brown faded cowboy boots, suggested that rising early was a good thing. Here's why and here's how I became a morning person… You grow girl! xo
