Ein deutscher Schreibtischtäter will „mehr Russen töten“ und offenbart verheerende KontinuitätenEin Kommentar von Tilo Gräser.Diese Frage an den Kiewer Präsidentendarsteller Wolodymyr Selenskyj kam am Samstag aus deutschem Mund. Aber nicht Bundesaußenminister Johann Wadephul (CDU) hat sie gestellt, für den „Russland immer ein Feind“ bleibt. Auch Kriegstreiber Roderich Kiesewetter, Ex-Oberst und CDU-Außenpolitiker äußerte sie nicht, der von einer „bedingungslosen Kapitulation Russlands“ träumt. Ein deutscher Journalist hat sie gestellt: Michael Martens, Korrespondent der Frankfurter Allgemeinen Zeitung (FAZ) für Südosteuropa, bei der gemeinsamen Pressekonferenz des serbischen Präsidenten Aleksandar Vučić mit Selenskyj am Samstag.Der Mann aus Kiew antwortete nicht direkt darauf. Vor ihm sagte Vučić neben seiner Antwort auf die ebenfalls von Martens gestellte Frage nach der Zusammenarbeit mit der Europäischen Union (EU): „Was das Töten angeht, so hoffe ich, dass das Töten aufhört.“ In seinem am Sonntag in der FAZ online veröffentlichten Beitrag zur Pressekonferenz in Belgrad stellte Martens den Vorgang so dar:Er erklärte als Ausgangspunkt seiner Frage die „seit Monaten kursierenden und leicht divergierenden Aussagen ukrainischer und anderer Verteidigungsexperten …, wie viele russische Soldaten die Ukraine monatlich töten oder kampfunfähig machen müsste, bis die russische Armee in ernsthafte personelle Schwierigkeiten geriete und Putin vielleicht zu Friedensgesprächen gezwungen wäre“. Seine Frage ist und bleibt zum einen erschreckend, nicht nur, weil sie ein deutscher Journalist gestellt hat.Das hat nichts mit Journalismus zu tun. Ik dook steeds dieper in de schaamte.” “Ik wist al op jonge leeftijd: ik ben homo. En dat is superkut. Maar als ik een heel lief, aardig mens word, valt het misschien minder op.” Pleasen werd zijn overlevingsmechanisme. Patrick probeerde voortdurend te voldoen aan de verwachtingen van anderen. “Ik dacht altijd dat een coming-out een enorme bevrijding zou zijn. Toen het eindelijk zover was kwam ik in een ugly cry terecht. Alle stress en spanning van 23 jaar kwam eruit. Ik kon niks meer, alleen maar keihard huilen, huilen, huilen.” Maar ndat het hoge woord eruit was, bleef hij achter met schaamte. De weg naar zelfliefde bleek lang. “Ik was wel out, maar totaal niet proud.” zegt hij. “Ik kon mezelf nog steeds niet accepteren en schakelde over in een andere versnelling: veel feesten met heel veel drank en drugs. Ik heb mezelf echt kapot willen maken.” Na het overlijden van zijn vader besloot Patrick de tijger in de ogen te kijken. The Belgian designer Glenn Martens is surely one of the busiest men in fashion, holding Creative Director roles at both Maison Margiela and Diesel. Martens invited The Run-Through to Margiela's Paris headquarters during fashion week to talk about his new collection that showed yesterday in Shanghai.Martens presented both his ready-to-wear and Artisanal couture collections together, accompanied by four exhibitions across China, each dedicated to a founding code of the house. The exhibitions will bring the brand's history to Chinese audiences, covering everything from the iconic “bianchetto” white painting tradition to the house's long philosophy of anonymity. “We love clothes and craftsmanship and garments,” Martens said. “We don't want to focus on the person wearing it."Martens unpacks the artistic vision behind his third collection for the house, which draws on porcelain dolls and Margiela's instinct for finding luxury in the overlooked. Martens' team combed secondhand markets for 19th-century gowns and furniture, which were transformed through extraordinary techniques, including dresses dipped entirely in beeswax.Martens also reveals the secret weapon he used to win over the studio team in his first weeks on the job: his absolutely adorable border terrier, Murphy. "Everybody was smiling, the doors opened, people were screaming, playing around," he said. Murphy has since been gifted his own miniature lab coat.When it comes to sustaining the creative demands of running two major houses simultaneously, Martens credits countryside weekends as his saving grace — including a Christmas gift he bought himself: a bulldozer for planting trees.
