The Generic Foiling Podcast is the only podcast dedicated solely to the world of foiling, and I have a good feeling that it's going to be a great listen. While I haven't had the chance to tune in to any episodes just yet, I am already drawn to the show's authenticity and honesty. Having listened to these hosts before, I know that their genuine approach will leave me eager for more time on the water.

One of the best aspects of The Generic Foiling Podcast is the refreshing honesty that shines through in each episode. The hosts don't hold back when it comes to sharing their experiences and insights about foiling. This transparency allows listeners like myself, who may not live in an ideal foiling location like Hawaii, to understand how accessible different aspects of the sport are for us average folks. Their candid discussions make me feel like I'm part of a community, sharing both triumphs and challenges with fellow enthusiasts.

Additionally, what sets this podcast apart from others is its lighthearted and humorous tone. The hosts inject their episodes with plenty of laughter and witty banter, making for an entertaining listening experience. Their ability to mesh technical information with comedic moments creates an engaging atmosphere, ensuring that listeners stay entertained throughout each episode.

However, one potential drawback of The Generic Foiling Podcast could be its occasional delays in releasing new episodes. As someone who eagerly awaits each installment, it can be frustrating when there's a delay or inconsistency in content delivery. Nevertheless, this minor inconvenience doesn't detract from the overall quality and enjoyment provided by this unique podcast.

In conclusion, The Generic Foiling Podcast offers a refreshing take on the world of foiling. With its authenticity, honest descriptions of foiling experiences, and humor-infused discussions, it quickly becomes a must-listen for any foil enthusiasts out there. Despite occasional delays in content release, this podcast proves itself as an invaluable resource for those looking to stay connected to the foiling community and learn more about this exhilarating sport.

We got to spend some time chilling in the carpark of Hood River with Aidan back in September (did we tell you we went to Hood River?) and he was nice enough to be one of the folks who lent us a downwindering board while we were there too.No doubt you've all seen videos of him shredding on the interweb, and he was one of the standout riders on the water through AWSi for Liam and I. Fast forward a couple of months and we managed to steal some time from his busy schedule to book in a recording to find out even more about him! We also discuss his role in Armstrong and how thats grown as well as the brands direction itself and what he's got coming up in the coming year.Sit back and enjoy - and if you do like what we're up to, we're still saving up our beer tokens to get ourselves back to Hood River once again in September to smash out some actual downwinding again - and hopefully chat to some more influential people in our industry!https://buymeacoffee.com/gfpodcast

Prior to meeting this pair at AWSI this year, we knew little to nothing about the two of them, and yet they're some of the most hard-working and influential people in the foiling game right now. Within minutes of meeting and chatting to Caitlyn over a margarita at Hood River's no.1 mexican 'Taqueria', Liam had decided she needed to be in front of the mic, and having the couple sit down together was a bonus. A lot was covered in this conversation, and I'd be surprised if anyone didn't feel inspired both on and off the water having listened to it. FYI: whilst it isn't essential to listen to episode 80 with Paul Martin prior to this one, it is referenced, and you're bound to enjoy both, so if you haven't already, consider listening to that first. Well - he's got some great thoughts so it was worth discussing! Ryan also pulls out some gold from his actual foiling diary from when he was learning, which definitely led us down a rabbit hole. Zanes been at the forefront of all things foiling for a good number of years now so its great to get his insight into the intricacys of chopping ones rear wing down, and his thoughts on the chopped tail board shapes too.... sounds like the aussie lot haver had yet another successful foil comp over on the east coast, with fan favourite Jezza taking the top spot. We talk about the format of the event and how things went down. If you like what we're up to, check out https://www.buymeacoffee.com/gfpodcast. We're raising moneys for our upcoming confirmed trip to the states for the AWSI event. Hopefully we get to bump heads with some influential people and persuade them with your beers to spill the beans.... Like, Comment, Subscribe blah blah blah.....

Its finally happened, we've had an actual run of successful prone conditions! We've spent the last week both winging and proning in some great small conditions and the progress has been awesome. Cornish Foil Frother Phil reached out to us, very kindly offering up his AirBnB for us to scope out within walking distance of some of the best beaches in Newquay. He's had a quiet start to the summer and we're all hoping a 10% offer to any foiler mentioning the GFP on booking will entice some of you fellow frothers out of your own counties and down to Cornwall to invade the famous secret spots! Use the following link for AirBnb, or search for Beach View House, Newquay - https://tinyurl.com/y597vtc5 Plenty of chat about foiling, foils and foilers as always. More T-Shirts are on order as we're almost sold out - anyone for white?! Check out https://www.buymeacoffee.com/gfpodcast if you're interested in supporting what we do! Turns out international foil event travel is expensive, and better audio equipment aint cheap either!

This week we welcome Lord and Lady Bridge of Exmouth to our little show. Famous across the county and further afield in the wing/kite industry and incredibly well regarded - nobody forgets meeting Steph and Eric Bridge. From starting a small sailing school back in the 80's in their home town of Exmouth, to now running one of the most successful kite/wing schools and shops in the UK - The Bridges have seen it all. Multiple world titles for Steph in a fledgling kite race scene, followed by guiding their 3 boys (Olly, Guy, Tom) to become some of the best watermen to ever have come out of the UK. We both call the Bridge family friends, (as well as ex employers of both of us) and we thank them for allowing us to invade their house with our aim to get them to sit still for an entire hour and talk to us on record.... Everyone who knows any of the family will know how much of an effort that can be for all of them. We did have to contend with scheduled haircuts mid way through - but Eric did a good job of holding the microphone while sitting in the chair. How I wish we had photos of that.... It does mean that this chat only scratches the surface of their accomplishments, and we'd love to do another episode with them. We are going to have to rethink the recording though as they really only rarely sit down. Enjoy! We're slowly getting back to a more regular schedule of weekly episodes, and we've got some fun trips coming up to spend some time chatting away on mic's about, so keep listening. Theres 68 other episodes to keep you going though, if you've joined us recently! If you like what we're doing, check out https://buymeacoffee.com/gfpodcast to donate whatever you like. All proceeds are going towards funding our trip to the AWSI event in America this september (and the odd beers) we've also still got t-shirts available for anyone else interested!

Freddie's away so Liam has a chat with local boy Jack Salmon. A name that is already likely to be known by UK folk, Jack has the potential to take things further in the watersports industry once he has got his degree out of the way. Not only is he a talented waterman that excels in every discipline he takes his hand to, but he's an energetic creative that also enjoys his time behind the camera and producing videos. I'm sure we'll see more and more from the salmon as time goes on.

Some more childish banter in response to some comments made online recently that we thought needed addressing....... There is some foil chat here though, don't fret. Ken Adgate jumps in with a voice note to give us some answers to questions we've had from listeners about how to engage in flat water wing shenanigans. We dissect how these potential 'party tricks' may actually become quite useful in more serious conditions once mastered. Some more thoughts on the Industry currently along the lines of Gong pushing harder into kiting and what that might mean to the consumer - what does this mean for the local shops? Even more board construction chat! Whats been ruffling Liams feathers this week? Can you guys send us some photos of you in your t-shirts?! we've sent a good few out now, it'd be great to see where they've ended up in the far flung corners of the world

I'm sure we did discuss the new board at least a little bit but as always its the ramblings in other directions that made this chat so much fun once again. Great guy, great brand - we hope you enjoy this one. And if you haven't listened to the first episode we did with Wieger way back when, its well worth a listen Appletree seems to have gone from strength to strength over the last 12 months and Wieger gives us a run down on how the companies changed in the background and whats been going on. We're incredibly pleased to announce we've booked flights to the AWSI event in Hood River later in 2024, and we look forward to chilling with a beer with the Appletree crew there! We've been fans from a far of Kens for a long while, and if you've not seen footage of him riding yet you will be soon enough too. We hit the big time though after Ken listened to a few episodes and actually enjoyed them - he's very picky with his podcast listening it seems. We won him over with our jovial english abuse.
