Daniel Riley, 22, was convicted of assault and armed criminal action for causing a car crash that left a teenager visiting from out of town critically injured. Janae Edmondson, 17, was in St. Louis for a volleyball tournament when two cars slammed into her on the sidewalk. Both of her legs had to be amputated. The Edmondson family has now filed a lawsuit against Riley and the city, after discovering that Riley violated a previous bond dozens of times. Here's what Nick Reed covers this morning: CNN anchor Don Lemon will be back on the air Wednesday morning and will undergo “formal training” after his return over sexist comments he made last week. A gifted teenage athlete visiting St. Louis for a volleyball tournament was hit by a car, resulting in both her legs having to be amputated. The suspect was identified as 21-year-old Daniel Riley. A probable cause statement against Riley states he is currently on bond for other pending charges of robbery and armed criminal action. He got a personal recognizance bond in August 2022 on the conditions of GPS monitoring and house arrest. The statement goes on to say he has received “numerous” GPS violations, the last one filed last Monday, just five days before the crash. The health of John Fetterman.

Daniel Riley is the newly appointed artistic director of Australian Dance Theatre. Daniel is a proud Wiradjuri man of Western New South Wales. He grew up around Canberra, inspired by the Tap Dogs, learning contemporary dance, ballet, and tap. But it was a chance encounter with ADTs founder, Elizabeth Cameron Dalman, which changed the direction of Daniel's life to one of pursuing dance as a career. He ultimately headed north to study dance at Queensland University of Technology and following graduation and various adventures building his craft around the globe, Daniel joined Bangarra Dance Theatre, where he spent the next 12 years performing, choreographing, and honing his creative skills. Tina Daheley talks to two film-makers who are highlighting Indigenous communities across North America. Blackfoot and Sámi actor and producer Elle Maija Tailfeathers is the director of the documentary Kímmapiiyipitssini - The Meaning of Empathy, which explores the opioid crisis in her community. Navajo Diné director and writer Ivey Camille Manybeads Tso's film Powerlands, documents the impact of chemical companies on Indigenous land. Daniel Riley is the artistic director and choreographer of the Australian Dance Theatre. His latest piece, Tracker, has just had its world premiere at the Sydney Festival. It is based on the personal story of his great-great uncle who was a Wiradjuri Elder and tracker in the police force in Australia. Reporter Regina Botros spoke to Daniel, along with some of the other First Nations creatives, about the importance of putting stories like this on stage. The veteran left wing politician Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, known widely as Lula, was recently sworn in as president of Brazil, having beaten the right-wing incumbent Jair Bolsonaro in a tense election contest. In a change of policy from the Bolsonaro administration, Lula has pledged "zero deforestation" in the Amazon by 2030, which is home to many Indigenous communities, and he has also announced a new Ministry of Indigenous Peoples. Edson Krenak is part of the flourishing Indigenous literature scene, and along with other writers, he has been at the forefront of storytelling across the country in order to bring about a dialogue between all cultures. Our oldest modern dance company, the Australian Dance Theatre, has been delighting and challenging audiences for nearly 60 years. Now Wiradjuri dancer and choreographer Daniel Riley is at the helm, becoming the first Indigenous man to lead the company.
