Leaders are constantly presented with opportunities, expectations, and decisions—but not every open door is an assignment. In this episode of the Global Leadership Podcast, GLN President and CEO David Ashcraft talks with Priscilla Shirer about how leaders discern what is truly theirs to carry. Priscilla shares practical wisdom on calling, wise counsel, humility, accountability, and learning to say yes or no from a place of clarity rather than fear or guilt. She also reflects on how leaders can protect their families, carry public attention lightly, and create "green space" for rest, responsiveness, and deeper awareness of God's work. For leaders navigating full calendars, growing influence, or the pressure to keep saying yes, this conversation offers a grounded reminder: faithful leadership requires both courage and discernment.
Sadie and Christian sit down with Priscilla Shirer and her sons, JC and Jackson, for an honest and encouraging conversation about faith, family legacy, and the pressure that can come with growing up in a well-known Christian home. Jackson and JC open up about learning to find God for themselves, stepping into their own callings, and realizing legacy can be a blessing without becoming a burden. Priscilla shares so much wisdom for parents, including how to love your kids with grace, hold a standard, and trust God with the parts of their stories you can't control. What if the life you're chasing is costing you the life you're living right now? In this conversation with Priscilla Shirer, I experienced something rare. This wasn't just a discussion about success or productivity. It was a masterclass in rhythm, presence, and faith. From the moment we started, I could feel the depth of her wisdom and the peace she operates with. And trust me, it challenged me. Because like many of you, I've spent years chasing momentum, saying yes, and filling every gap in my calendar. What Priscilla shared flipped that thinking on its head. She broke down the power of saying no in a way I've never heard before. Not as rejection, but as alignment. Every no creates space for the right yes. She talked about how saying yes out of guilt or fear always leads to regret, and how protecting your time is actually a way of honoring your priorities. What really hit me was her perspective that when we refuse to step back, we might be blocking someone else's opportunity to step forward. That level of humility and awareness is rare, and it made me reflect on how I've been showing up in my own life. We also went deep on something I think everyone struggles with, trusting God in the middle of uncertainty. Not just saying it, but actually living it. Priscilla made it simple and powerful. Do your part fully, and release the outcome. Stop trying to do God's job. That idea of creating margin in your life, real space to breathe, think, connect, and even be interrupted, was one of the most impactful parts of this entire conversation. She made me realize that a packed calendar isn't a badge of honor. It's often a barrier to the very life we're trying to build. One of the most emotional moments we shared was around the idea of delaying your life. Waiting for the perfect moment, the perfect conditions, the “someday” that may never come. Priscilla shared how easy it is to miss the treasures in the season you're currently in because you're so focused on the next one. That hit me hard. Because the truth is, this is the moment. This is your life. Not someday. Not later. Right now. This episode is about priorities, faith, family, and learning to live with intention. It's about choosing presence over pressure and purpose over popularity. If you've been feeling overwhelmed, stretched thin, or disconnected from what really matters, this conversation is going to bring you back to center in a powerful way. Key Takeaways: Why saying no is one of the most powerful tools for protecting your purpose How margin creates space for peace, creativity, and meaningful connection The danger of chasing momentum at the expense of your priorities What it really looks like to trust God with your life and outcomes Why the season you're in right now holds the keys to your future How intentional living shapes your family, your faith, and your legacy

What does it look like to live fully surrendered to God — not just once, but day after day, season after season? In this conversation, Shelley Giglio sits down with Priscilla Shirer – wife, mother, author, and speaker – to reflect on the powerful move of God they're seeing in this generation, especially through gatherings like Passion, where tens of thousands of young adults are showing up hungry for the Word of God, not just motivation. Priscilla shares how she has spoken identity-shaping declarations over her sons for years and how that same truth now calls a wider generation to live like who God says they are. They talk honestly about surrender: laying down comfort, preferences, and even good opportunities when God says “go” or “stay.” Priscilla tells the story of filming War Room and being willing to lay acting down to honor her marriage and family, and together she and Shelley unpack the danger of confusing ministry with platform in a social-media age. From five unseen years discipling a handful of college girls, to the story behind The Jesus Bible, to a powerful reminder that maybe we don't need more clarity but more courage, this episode invites us to see every ordinary moment as ministry and to trust that God is forming us — even when no one is watching. In Firm Foundation, Priscilla Shirer shares a powerful message about the foundation we're building for our lives. Everyone is building—but not every foundation will last. In Matthew 7, Jesus tells the story of two houses: one built wisely, the other foolishly. When storms come, they reveal whether our lives are built on shortcuts or on a genuine, trusting relationship with God. The question is this: Are we aligning our lives with God's Word? Are we committed to obeying Him no matter what? Storms are unavoidable—but only what is built on God is unshakable. Thank you for partnering with Social Dallas! Something incredible happened February 28th and March 1. Over 20,000 events took place across 183 countries, uniting believers in prayer, worship, and commissioning to reach the world with the gospel. Gather 25 was more than an event—it was a call to action for everybody, everywhere. Across the world, from living rooms in the U.S. to churches in Rwanda, from dorm rooms in Malaysia to arenas in South America, the church came alive. In this episode, Jennie reflects on what just took place and what happens next. If you've ever wondered what it looks like for God's people to move together, this is it. We are sharing highlights from teachers like Priscilla Shirer from North America, Pastor Charles Wandera from Africa, Louie Giglio live from Eastern Europe, Christine Caine from Western Europe, Luke DeJong live from Oceania, a powerful prayer from Nick and Pippa Gumbel and a closing moment from Jennie!
