Serving the class of men whose natural ability, talents, and training make them warriors or “guardians” of our way of life.
In Pineland, we recognized that in order to be effective at irregular warfare, one must be physically, mentally and spiritually prepared. Obesity is a significant issue throughout Pineland and the rest of America. According to recent statistics, about 42% of adults are obese, which means more than two-thirds of U.S. adults are either overweight or obese. Jason Dougherty (Be A Boxer) joins Paul & Mike around the campfire to discuss fitness and nutrition and provides some great advice to improving overall health. Enjoy.
An intelligence summary (INTSUM) is a product that is developed to gain insight into what is happening on the macro level by closely analyzing multiple, smaller, isolated events. It is used in various contexts, including military, government, business, and even economics. Today, Paul & Mike welcome NC Scout back into the G-Base to help develop an INTSUM for fellow Pinelanders, and "pick his brain" to get an idea of what we ought to expect as we progress through 2025. Enjoy.
"Morale is when your hands and feet keep on working when your head says it can't be done." As we close out 2024, Robert O'Connor, author of Jeep Show, joins Paul & Mike around the campfire to remember and pay homage to the bravery and sacrifice of the greatest generation during this eightieth anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge; the last major German offensive campaign on the Western Front during World War II. Robert reminds us of the importance of morale and the unsung heroes of the Special Services whose job was to entertain our boys in uniform. Enjoy the holidays, remember those less fortunate, and most of all, keep your head up and morale high.
Security in the G-Base has been reduced during this cool fall night as Guerrillas sit around in groups enjoying small campfires spread throughout the camp. Like everyone else, Paul & Mike sit around their own fire in the center of the base and discuss lessons learned from the Vietnam War. Enjoy.
Marcus Aurelius advises, "Retreat into your inner sanctuary. Here, away from strain and distraction, you are free to observe the world and your reactions objectively." Today, Jason Dougherty joins Paul & Mike around the campfire to encourage us to seek ancient wisdom, perform our civic duty as men, and focus on the things that are most important in life.
Long before the creation of government and religion, God oversaw the very first wedding ceremony. The modern practice of a father giving away his daughter at a wedding reflects God's action in Eden (Gen 2:22-24). A husband and a wife, the family, is the building block of any society. Today, Paul & Mike discuss biblical marriage and our difficulty in "becoming one flesh" with the other half.
This time of year, in Pineland, if things are calm and quiet, one can hear the faint sound of someone blowing the Shofar in the distance. Today, we're honored to have Scott Kinder, author of Frag Out! join Paul & Mike in the G Base to remind us of the reason for the sound we hear. It means it's time to: 1) Get MAD, 2) Get ORGANIZED, and 3) Get INTO THE FIGHT! Being a warrior doesn't end when we take off the uniform; it's a lifelong responsibility and privilege. It's who we are, and what we are meant to be and do. Enjoy the episode.
Even in the midst of a decades long counterinsurgency (COIN) struggle to supplant American Marxists from the seats of power, one must take a break every now and then to enjoy family and friends. Today, fellow Pinelander, and freedom fighter, LTC(Ret) Ivan Raiklin joins Paul & Mike for a poolside chat on current events and provides his intelligence summary (INTSUM) of the battlefield.
Africa is no stranger to conflict, conquest, and calamity. But at the same time, it's also a continent full of opportunity and hope for a better future. If good is to prevail over evil, it will rely heavily on brave evangelicals who serve on the front lines delivering the Good News and providing much needed services. Today Paul & Mike attempt to make commo with a few of these brave men to hear directly from them and receive a SITREP (situation report) on how things are going and what's needed for victory. Haleluyah!
Mike hangs the jungle antenna while Paul puts in a fresh battery and plugs in the frequency to make the scheduled commo shot to northern Pineland. Today, we learn some basics of communication with legendary partisan, NC Scout. Don't wait until "the chair is against the wall" to learn the difference between amateur, tactical, clandestine, and satellite communications. It's time to get ready now so you and your friends can shoot, move, and COMMUNICATE like professionals.
The odds of being harmed, both physically and financially, when the entire political ruling class is out to get you are quite high, even approaching 100%, regardless of who you are or how much you're worth. And the odds of never getting hurt are effectively zero, but that's where Donald J. Trump stands as of today. How do we explain Trump's unique ability to defy all odds? Today, Paul & Mike link up to discuss providence, miracles and guardian angels (Matthew 4:6 & Luke 4:11) and the possibility God may be shielding the 45th president from harm.
Legendary American Spartan, Jim Gant infiltrates Pineland to share his thoughts on being a soldier, Special Forces, and most importantly, his faith. If you haven't already read the book by Ann Scott Tyson about his exploits, and how his counterinsurgency (COIN) strategy was winning the war in Afghanistan, one tribe at a time, then you might want to get yourself enlightened. Kick back, relax, and enjoy this Independence Day special with one of America's finest warriors.
Rodney McDaniel escorts fellow Pinelander, Ryan Coe, owner of Apex Defense Group into the G Base to discuss preparedness beyond beans, bullets and Band-Aids. Ryan shares his expertise on how to build meaningful connections to establish a network that goes beyond just surviving, able to thrive indefinitely during tough times. Grab a pen and notepad and enjoy the episode.
Today, Paul & Mike channel the spirit of Jim Gant, author of the influential paper on Afghanistan titled One Tribe at a Time: A Strategy for Success in Afghanistan. Gant's classic Special Forces approach to defeating insurgents hearkened back to post WWII Philippines, prior to the current US foreign policy of enriching government contractors; a time when winning was the objective. Of course, Americans still love to win and it's very much a part of any warrior's DNA. It's time for our Armed Forces to re-learn Counterinsurgency 101, what used to come natural to America's warrior class. So go ahead, settle in with a hot cup of coffee (or an adult beverage) and enjoy your time in Pineland!
In celebration of the 100th episode of the Pinelander Podcast, Paul & Mike remind themselves, and encourage others to stay the course and avoid the three lures; diversion, novelty, and the inner ring.
Paul & Mike wrap up their discussion of the Judges with the legendary superhero, Samson. Warriors identify with Samson because even with his many flaws, he had purpose and undaunted courage. Samson is the only named Nazirite in the Bible. As a Nazirite, Samson was set apart for a sacred task, which was to begin the defeat of the Philistines. However, Samson broke his vow, showing that he, like so many other warriors in the Bible, was still very much human, but still possessing God's favor even with his many shortcomings.
It's nearly impossible to get accurate information from government controlled media these days. For those who prefer truth over propaganda, our Auxiliary has assumed great risk infiltrating John Spencer from the Urban Warfare Project back into Pineland to provide an update on what's been happening in Gaza. Join us, as John provides his expertise on how the IDF is attempting to degrade Hamas' ability to wage terrorism within Israel while simultaneously defending itself from their arch nemesis, Persia.
Paul & Mike discuss a time when the northern tribes of Israel were vexed by the Midianites, Amalekites and other eastern peoples. Israel was forced to flee their own fertile fields and rolling pastures for the relative safety provided by the surrounding hill country, dwelling in caves and shelters in the mountains. God chooses Gideon, the youngest son of Joash, a poor family of Manasseh, and 300 of his fellow warriors to confront the thousands of Midianites and save Israel.
Today, Paul & Mike are honored to welcome the author of Be A Boxer, Jason Dougherty back into the G Base for Part 2 of our discussion on Christianity and Stoicism, and why warriors embrace both in preparation for the myriad of challenges confronted throughout life.
"In those days there was no king in Israel, but every man did that which was right in his own eyes." Fast forward 3,000 years, and we again find ourselves without a "king" living according to our own ideas of right and wrong. Paul & Mike sit down for Part 2 of their series on the Judges, focusing on a time in Israel's history when men lacked confidence in Yahweh's Word, and relied heavily on their women to assist them in doing what they were commanded to do to save Israel.
You've heard of Oppenheimer in the USA, but have you heard of Heisenberg and what Germany was doing during the same time period? Today, we're honored to have Mitch Utterback in the G Base to discuss the race for the atomic bomb, and the heroic efforts of the Special Operations Executive (SOE) and Norwegian Commandos who conducted daring operations to sabotage the Norsk Hydro heavy water plant and thereby deny the Nazis the atomic bomb.
Rescuing women and children from human traffickers is dangerous work, and it takes lots of detailed planning, resources and preparation to do it right. But what most people, and even some organizations fail to realize is once a person is recovered from traffickers, the real work begins. These victims have been through a lot of trauma and need lots of counseling and love in a safe and secure place, as well as life training so they can successfully reintegrate back into society. Paul & Mike are honored to welcome fellow warrior and good friend, Randy from Silent Bridge (silentbridge.org) back into the G Base to give us an update on the organization and its specialized work.
Probably the most dramatic and fully reported missionary career of Paul took place in Athens at the Areopagus (Acts 17:16-34) approximately two thousand years ago. What's most interesting about the debate with the Epicureans and Stoics is what wasn't debated; namely the myriad of other beliefs held by the philosophers. The Athenians were eager to learn about the One True God, his Son, and the resurrection. We know many accepted Paul's teachings and joined the Covenant. Today, Paul & Mike are honored to welcome Jason Dougherty back into the G Base to discuss Christianity and the many benefits of Stoicism; two philosophies that have much in common, and why warriors today ought to embrace both to prepare for the inevitable challenges to come.
"In those days there was no king in Israel, but every man did that which was right in his own eyes." Fast forward 3,000 years, and we again find ourselves without a "king" living according to our own ideas of right and wrong. Paul & Mike sit down to discuss the first three of the twelve Judges of Israel in what is Part 1 of a series focusing on the lessons for today from the book of Judges.
The famous saying goes, "Those who cannot remember the past, or fail to learn from it, are condemned to repeat it." Seventy years ago, former G man and faith-based political theorist, W. Cleon Skousen prognosticated the Marxist overthrow of the USA, and even warned us how it would be accomplished. Today, Paul & Mike sit down around the G Base campfire with legendary NC Scout to discuss Skousen's work, and provide some insight on the future of America.
God said, "Let Us make Man in Our image, after Our likeness, to rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, and over all the earth itself and every creature that crawls upon it." Today, Paul & Mike are honored to welcome fellow warrior and avid hunter, Brandon Reil into the G Base to discuss the importance of hunting, and the many lessons about life one experiences first hand taking part in God's Natural Law. From all of us in Pineland, we wish you and your families a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
The number 8 is a very special number that transcends multiple cultures. And, the number 88 is considered exceptionally positive, bringing opportunity and success. So it's only fitting that on this 8th day of December, we invite fellow warrior poet, Jason Dougherty into the G Base to discuss faith-based stoicism or what is commonly referred to as the "Warrior's philosophy". We're confident Episode 88 will live up to its high expectations. Enjoy.
In 1971, President Nixon cancelled the direct convertibility of dollars into gold due to declining gold reserves. Since then, most countries have adopted fiat monies that are exchangeable between major currencies but don't possess any intrinsic value of their own. Today, Paul & Mike are honored to have our very own "Mr. Green," Nick Giambruno come into the G Base from the Financial Underground to help explain the situation, and what Pinelanders ought to be doing now to help prepare for economic hardship and a collapsing dollar.
There's a lot a leader can learn from thinking about a listening and observation post, or what is commonly referred to in the military as an "LP/OP". The key to success is to be very quiet and use your senses to detect the enemy before they detect you, to provide early warning and reaction time for friendly forces. Today, Terry Peters joins Paul & Mike in the G Base to share a little wisdom about the power of listening and learning from others, especially our subordinates. Being a good listener provides leaders what they need to know, and also provides leaders time to take appropriate action in order to benefit the individual and the overall team.
The auxiliary answers the call, and undertakes extreme risk infiltrating Mike Smith back into Pineland to share intelligence he's gathered about the enemy. The director of the ground-breaking documentary, Out of Shadows (episode #36) brings us up-to-date with the latest disposition of the dark forces arrayed against us with Into the Light .
John Spencer from the Urban Warfare Project joins Paul in the G-Base to discuss a 21st century version of the Battle of Thermopylae; how 200 Ukrainian Guardsmen, defending the Hostomel Airfield, saved Kiev from falling into the hands of elite Russian paratroopers on the morning of 24 February 2022. Time and again, history informs us how a few determined warriors are able to overcome insurmountable odds and defeat an overwhelming adversary.
Paul transmits the signal asking for assistance in the G Base, and without hesitation, Micah Dunford answers the call to help man the guns. Today, Paul & Micah discuss warrior ethics and building the foundation required of all true warriors. After all, how can we be a good friend and provide sound counsel to others without first knowing the difference between good and evil, right and wrong, virtue and vice, justice and crime? Enjoy your time in Pineland.
Pineland is no different than a lot of other places around the world. We have a long history of fighting tyranny and evil. Today, Patrick O'Kelley takes us back to the 18th century to discuss some of the tactics & techniques utilized during the American Revolution in the Carolinas, long before the term "unconventional warfare" was coined.
Paul & Mike put their entrenching tools to use to recover another valuable cache originally emplaced in the early days of 2022. The trunk contains three beneficial stories from the real life experiences of fellow warrior, Patrick O'Kelley, author of Triple Canopy. Enjoy.
For those of us who enjoy spending time away from man-made concrete jungles, observing the mathematical perfection of the universe and its natural laws, we quickly realize how small and insignificant we are and how wrong we've been on so many topics. On the Origin of Species by Charles Darwin was published in 1859, and it's taken us over a hundred and fifty years to realize just how utterly ridiculous the theory is. Today, Paul & Mike are honored to welcome fellow Pinelander, and author of Common Sense vs. Evolution, Shane Anderson into the G Base to discuss the cornerstone of atheism and why academia continues to cling to it with white knuckles in spite of the ever growing, overwhelming body of evidence to the contrary.
For those who venture out of Pineland, it quickly becomes obvious something isn't quite right. Besides the strange fashions, excessive tattoos and unusual piercings, some can't even differentiate between male and female. A significant percentage of the youth today suffer from ATD (Asexual Transmitted Disease), frantically searching their handheld tracking devices for a cure; a purpose and meaning in their lives. Today, Paul & Mike welcome friend and fellow warrior, Rodney McDaniel back into the G Base to discuss the current plague and offer some tips on masculinity; the three "P"s of manhood. Enjoy.
Paul & Mike recover a cache originally emplaced back in March 2022, just after the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Some of you plank holders out there might remember our discussion concerning Paul's first novel, The Wild Fields. If you love adventure, action, romance, history, with a sprinkling of religion on top, then this is a story you will definitely enjoy.
After establishing a new G Base, Paul & Mike reflect on Israel's 40 years of travel in the wilderness, and the lessons from the experience that may be of benefit for us today.
Paul & Mike once again call on members of the Auxiliary to assist in infiltrating The Iconic Warrior series author, Dr. Gene Klann back into Pineland to provide his expertise and assistance in developing the next generation of warriors.
Are you tired of strangers listening in on your private conversations? Advances in technology have almost entirely eliminated the fundamental Right of privacy. As a result, Paul & Mike decided it was well past time to set out the "load signal" and bring in our guerrilla communications expert, NC Scout. In this episode, we discuss how to reduce or eliminate eavesdropping by the peanut gallery by setting up a secure network so you can communicate privately with family and friends.
The saying "an army marches on its stomach" has been attributed to both Napoleon and Frederick the Great. It means warriors cannot function effectively unless we're well fed, and not many of us know what's in our food or even where it comes from. That's a big problem. We also know from scripture, God took man and put him in a garden to work it and keep it. So today, Paul & Mike are honored to have Jeremy Burkett discuss his family's experiences with homesteading as they continue on the journey of learning the original profession of man; working the garden and caring for animals.
The Operational Detachment A-Team (ODA) has just returned to the G Base and are methodically going through their gear, consolidating, reorganizing and replenishing ammunition and other necessary items in preparation for the next mission. While the team is busy working, Tom Kelly joins Paul & Mike in the center to discuss lessons learned while in leadership and what he's done to help assist current and future Team Sergeants with the numerous challenges of the job.
Far and near recognition signals have been exchanged and Paul & Mike welcome John Phelps back into the G Base to continue where Kevin Mains left off; a discussion on the spiritual health and readiness of America's warrior class.
Paul & Mike are honored to welcome Kevin Mains into the G Base to discuss the challenges facing the Armed Forces today. The mission of the warrior has not changed, but the leadership challenges have never been greater. If America's warriors are going to be successful meeting our enemies, foreign and domestic, we're going to have to be able to bring our A Game, physically, mentally, and socially.
It isn't often a fellow warrior from the Pacific Northwest visits Pineland. Today, Paul & Mike are honored to welcome the Founder and CEO of Intrepid Tactics, Brice Colbert into the G Base to discuss current trends on the left coast; a land of spectacular beauty and abundant resources. Brice also shares some of the excellent training being offered in his neck of the woods. The time to get prepared is now. The chair is against the wall.
In Pineland, we use a currency known as "Don". Like its close cousin, the Federal Reserve Note (FRN), it's a paper fiat currency backed by nothing of value other than a promise to confiscate wealth from the Plebes in order to pay the treasuries (T-notes). With non-stop printing of more and more fiat currency, rising interest rates, fractional banking, and bad loans, is it any wonder banks are dropping like dominos? Even people who normally aren't paying any attention are starting to realize the current system appears to be imploding on itself. Legendary Pinelander, NC Scout joins Paul & Mike in the G Base to continue the discussion on economic sovereignty and what steps families need to take to protect themselves from the economic fallout.
The importance of family can't be overstated, and it's always an honor to be visited by a fellow warrior. Today, Paul & Mike conduct a thorough police call and make sure everything is squared away in order to welcome fellow podcaster, and co-host of the Pineland Underground, Chuck Ritter into the G Base to discuss past, current and future issues. At ease!
The wise man learns from his mistakes. They are excellent learning opportunities. In fact, learning from failure is often the key to success. By getting things wrong, we improve our skills and grow in various ways. This is especially true for warriors as well. It's always a valuable use of time when an experienced warrior is willing to sit down and share lessons learned. Today in Pineland, Paul & Mike are privileged to have Tim Burke join them in the G-Base to discuss leadership and how humility plays an important part in personal growth and leading others to be their very best.
Sorry to interrupt the fantasy, but slavery didn't end with the Civil War. Currently, it is estimated that between 15,000 to 50,000 women and children are forced into sexual slavery in the United States every year, with approximately 20 to 40 million enslaved today. 16 million people are trafficked for forced labor in the economy and approximately 5 million people are trafficked for forced sexual exploitation. With our open borders, the problem only gets worse. Today, Paul & Mike are honored to have a good friend and fellow warrior join them in the G-Base to discuss modern day slavery and what Silent Bridge is doing worldwide to help those seeking freedom as well as providing hope and opportunity post captivity.
Maya Angelou said it best: “Courage is the most important of all the virtues because without courage, you can't practice any other virtue consistently.” How right she is. Today Paul & Mike wrap up their discussion with the virtue required of every warrior in order to fulfil their duty and responsibility in the extreme. Pineland has always served as one of the places where warriors go to test themselves, leaving summer soldiers and sunshine patriots behind. Prepare your mind and enjoy the episode.
