To hear Samantha's story is to know of her resilience. Like all of our wish kids, Sam's experience of diagnosis and subsequent treatment, plus the accompanying ups and downs surrounding that period of time (twice!) have contributed to who she is today. Her vulnerability has allowed her to share her journey on Instagram, and her perspective is something we can all lean into: “…life is just such a blessing. And even if you're at that point where you're in treatment, and it's really rough and you're like ‘when is this going to end?', there will be a respite, regardless of if it's curable, or something that you can't cure…there's definitely going to be a respite where you say, ‘I'm at peace now, and I'm living right now for me'. Since high school, Rachel has been involved with Make-A-Wish Hudson Valley as an intern, volunteer, and wish granter. In her work today, Rachel continues to provide hope and joy to the children she works with as a Clinical Psychologist and through her foundation Runway Heroes who help create fashion experiences for children with cancer in collaboration with leaders in the fashion industry.
