Sal and BT dissected the overwhelming negativity surrounding New York sports, focusing on the winless Giants and Jets, while Sal wrestled with whether to attend the Giants' Sunday Night game. The conversation shifted to the Mets' perilous final three games, with Sal doubting their pitching depth and BT defending rookie ace McLain. The discussion took a lighter turn when Sal and BT mocked David Cone for confusing Rocky III and Rocky IV during a recent broadcast, a cinematic blunder Sal deemed unforgivable. Amidst the sports talk, Sal also revealed his anxiety over potential health issues after reading a sobering article, showing that the misery of the New York teams is only one part of the show's dynamic content.

This week, The Voices of SOUL ON FIRE series welcomes Masey McLain, the gifted actress who portrays my wife, Beth O'Leary, in our upcoming film. Casting Beth was one of the most important decisions of the film, and in Masey we found someone who truly embodies her grace, strength, and unshakable love. Beyond the screen, Masey is an author, singer, producer, and speaker. She lives with mission and purpose, and she's a dear friend whose light shines every bit as brightly as her performance. Recorded in Hogansville, Georgia (Masey's small hometown!), she opens up about what it meant to step into Beth's shoes and portray a love that sees the scars and chooses them anyway. Masey also shares on her journey of faith, the lessons she carried from set, and how she radiates beauty, humility, joy, and resilience both onscreen and off. My friends, if you need a reminder that love is the foundation for courage, and that faith and laughter can carry us through any season, this conversation is for you.

On this episode of Great Practice, Great Life, Steve Riley sits down with attorney and former Marine Corps officer Patrick McLain to share the leadership lesson lawyers need most today. Patrick's path took him from serving as a Marine JAG officer and military judge to building a successful criminal defense practice. Along the way, he discovered that the same principles that carried him through combat zones could also guide him in the courtroom and in leadership. Patrick talks about the challenges of transitioning from military life to private practice, and how niching down in criminal defense allowed him to build a firm with purpose and clarity. He also shares how embracing innovation, empowering his team, and leaning into the human side of advocacy helped him create a practice that thrives in today's legal world. Yet, the most surprising leadership lesson lawyers need to hear comes at the end of his story. Despite his military background and commanding presence, Patrick reveals that the greatest insight he has learned is love. Leading with compassion, for clients, colleagues, and community, not only defines his approach to law but also shapes the legacy he wants to leave behind. This conversation is both practical and deeply human. It's a reminder that while systems and strategies matter, the leadership lesson lawyers need is to show up with courage, empathy, and love. In this episode, you will hear: Patrick McLain's transition from Marine Corps officer to a successful law practice owner The impact of military discipline and leadership on legal practice Balancing family life and a demanding legal career Importance of niching and creating a practice aligned with personal values Mentoring young advocates and fostering the next generation Utilizing technology to enhance efficiency and client interaction Financial prudence, structured systems, and growth strategies in law firm management Subscribe & Review Never miss an episode. We went into this week saying, if the Reds split these two series, we'll be thrilled. They did exactly that and we're thrilled. They let the Phillies fall on their own sword with their defensive miscues, including an inside the park home run from Noelvi Marte. Then the Reds welcomed Milwaukee and picked up the Phillies defensive miscues. They had opportunities to take the first two games against the hottest team in baseball. Instead, they stopped their winning streak at 14 and took them down in an extra innings thriller. We also talk about Hunter Greene's return, Andrew Abbott's dominance, Miguel Andujar reigning this week, Jake Fraley shown the door, the 2022 trade and if it's panned out, Chase Burn's "injury" and what's going on with McLain at the dish. As always the show is brought to you by Cincy Light, the flavor of Cincinnati. Let's go back to Wellington! This conversation was recorded during our stay in Wellington last January. Following in the footsteps of Beezie Madden, Kent Farrington and Katie Prudent, this is another iconic name in American equestrianism that cannot be ignored. With 5 Olympic medals from 6 participations, McLain Ward is one of the most successful riders on the American continent. This year, he celebrates his 50th birthday and completes his 35th season at the highest level of show jumping. Impressive. But what struck us most when we recorded this episode was his vision and philosophy. McLain thinks, analyses, studies and organises. Nothing is ever left to chance and each performance seems to be more a harvest than a result, the fruit of a well-defined process. Relying on a well-oiled system, he makes sure he maintains his position, season after season, deadline after deadline. As you will see from this episode, McLain Ward is a top-level athlete in every sense of the word.Hébergé par Ausha. Visitez ausha.co/politique-de-confidentialite pour plus d'informations.
