On this episode of Max's Island, 19-year-old Levi explores with us the profoundly life-altering journey that began with a shocking leukemia diagnosis at just 11 years old. Levi opens up about the physical toll of his chemotherapy, particularly how the drug Vincristine damaged his muscles and stripped him of his ability to play the active sports he loved. However, as Levi notes, closing that door … opened a new one: a deep passion for motor bikes and mechanics that make them work. He shares how fixing broken motorbikes became a vital coping mechanism during treatment, eventually leading to getting a Make-A-Wish workshop in his mum's backyard … a place he still uses every weekend.

Meet my friends, Clay Travis and Buck Sexton! If you love Verdict, the Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show might also be in your audio wheelhouse. Politics, news analysis, and some pop culture and comedy thrown in too. Here’s a sample episode recapping four takeaways. Give the guys a listen and then follow and subscribe wherever you get your podcasts. Sports Life Lessons Buck Sexton celebrates the New York Knicks’ dramatic 29-point comeback victory, described as one of the most remarkable in NBA Finals history. Buck highlights the scale of the comeback, noting that teams down by 20+ points rarely win in postseason play, which amplifies the significance of the Knicks’ performance. The discussion expands beyond sports into a broader sports culture and societal impact narrative, with Buck emphasizing how the win has unified New York City and captured national attention, illustrating the ability of major sporting events to create shared cultural moments and civic pride. At the same time, he criticizes instances of fan misconduct, including destructive celebrations and harassment of opposing teams, calling for sportsmanship, civility, and respect in fan behavior. Buck praised Knicks star Jalen Brunson for his leadership, humility, and professionalism. Buck presents Brunson as a model example of positive role models in professional sports, highlighting his “clutch” performance, team-first attitude, and composure under pressure. Brunson’s postgame remarks and actions—such as acknowledging a Make-A-Wish recipient—are used to underscore themes of character, leadership, and responsibility in public figures, reinforcing a broader discussion about the need for admirable role models in modern culture. The Black Culture Problem An interview with Turning Point USA reporter Savanah Hernandez, who covered the Karmelo Anthony murder trial, which resulted in a guilty verdict and a 35-year prison sentence. Hernandez provides detailed firsthand reporting on the courtroom environment, strict security measures, and intense public interest, noting that access to the trial was limited and highly competitive, with spectators lining up early each day. The hosts highlight how the case became a nationally discussed story, not only because of the crime itself but also due to the public reaction and broader cultural implications. A central theme throughout Hour 2 is the behavior and messaging of Anthony’s supporters outside the courthouse, who were described as highly vocal and, at times, confrontational. The conversation centers on reports of hostility toward journalists and opposing demonstrators, with the hosts framing these interactions as part of a larger issue involving media distrust, activism, and racial narratives in high-profile legal cases. According to the discussion, many supporters appeared less focused on trial evidence and more on identity-based arguments, which the hosts argue contributed to a distorted public understanding of the case. The Boy Who Cried Deal in Iran Buck reports breaking news on U.S.–Iran relations and military activity. Buck provides real-time commentary on President Donald Trump’s announcement that additional military strikes on Iran were initially planned but then suddenly canceled amid reports of a diplomatic breakthrough. The show captures the fluid nature of the situation, with updates coming in live as negotiations appear to reach a critical stage. This segment focuses on foreign policy, national security, and Middle East geopolitics, with Buck analyzing the implications of a potential agreement involving multiple regional and global actors. He underscores that while the reported deal could represent a major strategic success, its true impact will depend on whether it includes clear enforcement mechanisms and verifiable limits on Iran’s capabilities. The discussion reflects skepticism about long-term outcomes, with concerns raised about whether Iran will adhere to any agreement and whether the deal could simply delay future conflict. There's No Fraud Data in CA An interview with political strategist Ryan Girdusky, host of It's a Numbers Game podcast in the Clay and Buck podcast network. Buck and Ryan examine the U.S. Senate race in Maine, where Republicans and Democrats are closely watching a competitive contest. Girdusky provides data-driven political forecasting, explaining how incumbent strength, polling trends, and shifting voter sentiment make the race highly competitive despite controversies surrounding the Democratic candidate. A key theme is how modern political campaigns are influenced less by scandal and more by electability, with discussion highlighting that controversial candidates can remain viable if party leadership believes they can win. This segment underscores broader election strategy trends, party loyalty, and the evolving standards of political accountability in U.S. politics. The conversation then expands to the California political landscape, including the Los Angeles mayoral race and the broader challenges facing Republicans in deep-blue states. Gerdusky dismisses claims of widespread election fraud in the mayor’s race, emphasizing the lack of verifiable data while explaining demographic shifts that have made cities like Los Angeles increasingly Democratic. The hosts discuss how urban migration patterns, ideological clustering, and voter registration trends are reshaping electoral outcomes, arguing that conservative voters are leaving blue states while progressive populations concentrate in major metropolitan areas. This leads into analysis of a proposed California voter ID ballot initiative, framed as a key battleground issue that could mobilize Republican voters even in a heavily Democratic state. In this powerful episode of World of Wishes, we are joined by wish alum Aniyah Simmons - a vocalist, performer, and advocate whose story is filled with resilience, gratitude, and unforgettable music. Aniyah grew up in a small town in North Carolina, discovering her love for singing in church and dreaming of a future on stage. As a teenager, her life changed when her mother noticed something wasn't right and advocated for further testing—leading to a cervical cancer diagnosis. Aniyah opens up about the shock of hearing the word “cancer,” the intensity of treatment, and the mindset that carried her through it: “Is it curable? Okay—let's get to it.” In the midst of treatment, Aniyah was referred to Make-A-Wish. Her wish wasn't just to meet a celebrity - it was to sing with Jessie J. That wish took her to California, into a rehearsal studio, and into a moment that continues to shape her confidence and career years later. From hearing Jessie J sing before the doors even opened, to sharing the stage, to forming a connection that still continues, Aniyah's wish truly became the wish that keeps giving. This episode is also a beautiful tribute to family—especially the role Aniyah's mom played as her advocate, her support system, and her companion on the wish journey. Today, Aniyah gives back by hosting Make-A-Wish events, sharing her story, and helping build hope for families walking similar paths.Learn more about how can get involved at https://wish.org/sfla!Be sure to follow us @makeawishsfla on Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, TikTok, and LinkedIn!Subscribe, Rate, & Review this podcast to support future episodes that will feature wish kids and parents' past and present, volunteers, donors, referral sources and everyone who contributes to this World of Wishes!

In episode 365 of The Real Jason Duncan Podcast, you were probably told that college is the price of success. Ali Hemyari never paid it and spent twenty years building the proof that it was never true. Ali Hemyari is the founder of Nashville K-9, recognized by Bloomberg as one of the world's greatest canine training facilities, the only civilian in the state of Tennessee to complete the police-mandated SWAT Canine School recognized by the National Tactical Officers Association, a TEDx speaker, keynote speaker, pilot, triathlete, Make-A-Wish fundraiser, and author of The Success Code. He has built close to twenty companies across multiple industries and commands K-9 units for multiple police departments — as a volunteer. None of it required a diploma. Today, Ali sits down with Jason for a conversation that's going to make a lot of guidance counselors uncomfortable. The lie is one of the most universally distributed beliefs in the world: go to college, that's where success comes from, without it, you're starting behind. And here's what that belief actually does — it hands the definition of readiness to an institution. It tells people to wait for permission they already have. Ali stopped waiting. Then he built twenty companies to show what that looks like. This episode dives into: 1.Why the college lie is the most universally distributed lie handed to teenagers — and why questioning it still feels irresponsible to most people 2.Where Ali's belief about college came from growing up in the eighties and nineties — and how deep it ran before he started seeing through it 3.How he ran a marketing company in college, funneling students to bars on the UT Knoxville strip — and what that taught him that the classroom never did 4.The Vanderbilt MBA grads who showed him 50 charts for a dog treat business the dogs wouldn't eat — and what happened when they ignored his advice 5.Why years one and two of college are largely wasted — and what years three and four actually offer 6.Walking into the SWAT Canine School as the only civilian in the room — what he had that the credential guys didn't when real pressure started 7.The HVAC tech making $300K and the mechanic who out-earns the MBA — and why nobody wants to say it out loud 8.Why professors who have never practiced what they teach are producing laborers, not entrepreneurs 9.His TEDx talk: "Dogs don't fail, leadership does" — and how that one line maps directly onto the lie about college 10.Why the institution doesn't make you successful — the person leading does 11.The real reason universities won't fix this problem (it starts with money and ends with tenure) 12.The lie hiding inside work-life balance — and what he actually wishes he had been told at twenty 13.What he knows now that he wishes the world knew If you've ever wondered whether the path you were handed was the only path — or if someone you love is about to spend $200,000 to find out the hard way — this episode is required listening.

Jennifer Davis President & CEO of Make A Wish Philadelphia, Delaware & Susquehanna Valley talked about their chapter and its work as they celebrate its 40th year. Jennifer explained their life-changing work that grants children not a ‘last' wish,' but a ‘forever' wish that can inspire and give them strength as they fight critical illness. She points out that 80% of their kids go on to recovery and that research shows a wish can give kids the strength to fight against and even overcome a critical illness. She described their process, from referrals and verifications, to meeting with the child and family to discuss what a wish might look like. She notes many wishes are not for trips but for things for their family – such as a backyard redo - or a way to give back to their caregivers and other kids with their illness. Make A Wish Philadelphia, Delaware & Susquehanna Valley is always looking for volunteers, including construction help, as well as in kind donations and airline miles from Delta and United to help offset the cost of the more than 200+ travel wishes granted annually. To celebrate the 40th anniversary the chapter will host a party at the Please Touch Museum on November 19th.For tickets to the event or for more information on donating or volunteering visit https://wish.org/philadesv/our-chapterSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Joey C. MaddisonTake a walk with me down Fascination Street as I get to know Joey C. Maddison. Joey is a professional clown and mascot living and working in the Edmonton, Alberta area of Canada. In this episode, Joey and I chat about the career path that led to his desire to be a clown, and what his parents thought of this idea. He has been the guy in the mascot costume for several NHL (hockey) teams, and even a CFL (football) team. I ask about how some of these job opportunities come to him, and then Joey shares fun stories about working with the WWE (wrestling) when they come to town. He worked with them for five years and boy does his body feel it! Finally, we discuss Joey's role as 'Joy Facilitator' for 'One Red Nose and Ten Happy Toes'. He even gives his actual phone number out on the show, just in case anyone out there needs some clowning or mascoting done for their event. In this episode of World of Wishes, we are joined by Tara Diaz, a devoted wish mom whose daughter Christina—a true warrior—experienced the wish of a lifetime: attending one of the biggest events in sports entertainment - Wrestlemania. From the very beginning of her life, Christina faced medical challenges that no child should have to endure. As an infant and young child, she experienced repeated hospitalizations before being diagnosed with genetic pancreatitis at just four years old. What followed were years of painful flare ups, extended hospital stays, emergency admissions, and relentless uncertainty. Over time, Christina's condition worsened, ultimately leading doctors to recommend a rare, high risk surgery: a total pancreatectomy with auto islet cell transplantation—a life altering procedure performed on only a small number of pediatric patients nationwide. Tara shares in vivid detail the emotional weight of that decision, the long hours spent waiting during surgery, and the haunting moment of seeing her daughter in the ICU surrounded by machines and IV lines. But she also shares the relief that followed—knowing Christina would no longer live under the constant threat of another pancreatitis attack. Six months after surgery, Make A Wish entered their lives, opening the door to joy at a time when healing was still ongoing. Christina's wish was clear from the start: WrestleMania. What unfolded was far more than a single night—it was a full week of magic in Philadelphia filled with VIP experiences, behind the scenes access, and unforgettable interactions with WWE superstars. From riding in limousines and meeting legends to walking alongside wrestlers during entrances and being celebrated on the world's biggest stage, Christina was given the chance to do what she had rarely been able to do before: be a kid, fully and freely. This episode is about resilience, recovery, and the extraordinary ripple effect of a wish. Tara reflects on how the experience continues to shape Christina's confidence, passions, and sense of purpose—and why she calls it “the wish that doesn't stop giving.” Learn more about how can get involved at https://wish.org/sfla!Be sure to follow us @makeawishsfla on Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, TikTok, and LinkedIn!Subscribe, Rate, & Review this podcast to support future episodes that will feature wish kids and parents' past and present, volunteers, donors, referral sources and everyone who contributes to this World of Wishes!

Host Kim Russo explores the extraordinary power of a wish in an inspiring conversation with Kat Wawner, CEO of Wawner Strategies, and Shannon Rice, Coastal Region Development Manager at Make-A-Wish® South Carolina. This episode highlights the incredible success of Wish Night 2026, an event that brought together over 300 guests to raise a record-breaking $1.2 million. Kat and Shannon share their personal journeys of getting involved with the foundation and discuss why the mission of granting life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses is so close to their hearts. The discussion provides a behind-the-scenes look at the logistics of Wish Night and its massive impact on the foundation's annual fundraising goals. Beyond the celebration, the conversation dives into a sobering reality: the gap between the number of children eligible for a wish and the foundation's current capacity to serve them. Listen in to learn how the South Carolina community is coming together to bridge that gap and ensure that every eligible child gets to experience the hope and joy of a granted wish. You can help close the gap and ensure every child receives their wish. To donate your time or resources please visit the official chapter website: Wish.org/sc

Anthony and Joe discuss the fallout of WrestleMania 42, beginning with the shocking departures of New Day members Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods, which were reportedly sparked by "insulting" 50% pay cut offers . They critique TKO/Endeavor's pivot away from traditional wrestling storytelling in favor of a celebrity-heavy product, questioning if the company even realizes they are making a television show . The guys riff on John Cena's constant "Make-A-Wish" style appearances in suits and the "fifth wall" being broken by athletic streamers like IShowSpeed . The conversation expands into a broader social critique of "circular scams" and corporate greed, comparing WWE's current business model to Walmart weight scams and the Spirit Airlines collapse . The episode wraps up with a look at the "AI-assisted" creative slump in WWE, the polarizing longevity of Danhausen, and a wild theory that Tom Brady might be training for a Lucha Libre debut under a mask .Timestamps:0:00 – Post-WrestleMania Departures: The New Day's Exit8:30 – The 50% Pay Cut Insult & Shareholder Value Rants16:15 – John Cena's Suit-and-Tie "Figurehead" Status22:50 – Breaking the Fifth Wall: IShowSpeed & Celeb Wrestling28:10 – Jelly Roll & the Lack of a Cultural "Monoculture"34:45 – Corporate Greed: Walmart Shrimp & Spirit Airlines Failures40:10 – Firing the "Worst Samoans" & Nia Jax's Heat46:25 – New Day's Tag Team Legacy vs. TKO's Short-Term Thinking52:00 – ChatGPT Creative: The Future of AI-Assisted Storylines57:30 – Tom Brady Masked Lucha Theories & Baby Jill Shout-outBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/wrestling-soup--1425249/support.
How does the Aroma Joe's community ambassador NIL program work? This episode with host Greg Glynn, founder & CEO of Pliable features special guest Crystal Brown, community marketing manager for Aroma Joe's Development Office. Greg and Crystal shared how the Community Ambassador Program at Aroma Joe's was created and how the program evolved from its inception in 2022 with Alyssa Bourque to become a unique NIL (Name, Image, Likeness) partnership for athletes across the country that focuses on community engagement rather than only brand and product promotion. Crystal explained how the program helps build leadership skills and community connections for college athletes while aligning with Aroma Joe's mission of positively impacting people through local coffee shops. They discussed the importance of maintaining positive social media content when representing brands and the potential for expanding the program to high school athletes. The conversation also touched on future opportunities, including potential partnerships with organizations like Winter Kids, Make-A-Wish and the Travis Mills Foundation and more! Greg and Crystal discussed the history of their collaboration, noting that they first started talking about a community ambassador program on April 27th, 2022, with Alyssa Bourque being signed as the first community ambassador on May 5th, 2023. Greg highlighted the uniqueness of their program and the strong affinity for the brand among younger demographics. NIL Program Community Building Strategy Greg and Crystal discussed their NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) community ambassador program at Aroma Joe's, which focuses on community building and leadership development for college athletes. Crystal explained how the coffee brand's mission aligns with community impact, allowing athletes to promote causes they're passionate about while gaining valuable leadership skills. Greg noted that their approach of identifying athletes based on character rather than just athletic ability has been successful in building a strong community network around the program. Aroma Joe's Community Engagement Program The discussion focused on how Aroma Joe's community engagement program has evolved to provide meaningful opportunities for athletes to participate in local events. Crystal explained that while initially challenging to find appropriate roles for athletes, the program has developed into various activities including experiential van events and sports card shows where athletes can represent both the brand and themselves. Greg noted that this generation of athletes is seeking new ways to give back to their communities, and the program allows them to promote local events and support organizations like Make-A-Wish through targeted promotions. Local Athlete Engagement Strategy Greg and Crystal discussed the value of working with local athletes who have smaller but engaged followings compared to larger celebrity athletes. They emphasized the importance of community connection and personal impact, noting how local athletes can create meaningful relationships with their audience through events and direct interactions. Greg shared an example of an athlete being recognized by a fan at a community event, highlighting the positive impact of these connections. Social Media Impact on Role Models Greg and Crystal discussed the positive impact of community events and the importance of maintaining clean social media accounts for role models, particularly athletes. They emphasized how content shared on social media reflects an individual's identity and future career aspirations. Crystal highlighted the long-lasting nature of online content and the need for individuals to consider their digital footprint carefully. Athlete Social Media Brand Partnerships Greg discussed the importance of athletes maintaining positive social media content when representing brands, explaining that negative content or inappropriate gestures can lead brands to reject partnership opportunities. He emphasized that athletes should consider their online presence as a reflection of the brand they represent, particularly when engaging with younger audiences who look up to them. The conversation concluded with Greg asking Crystal about future developments in the NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) space, particularly regarding opportunities for high school and college athletes. NIL Opportunities for High School Athletes Greg and Crystal discussed the potential for NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) opportunities to impact high school athletes and their communities. They highlighted the importance of building leadership skills and personal connections with the community from a young age, with Crystal sharing her experience with a health promotion program in elementary schools. Greg mentioned Maddie Niles from Lawrence High School as a great example of a successful high school athlete who embraced NIL opportunities early and became a community ambassador, gaining valuable life skills and recognition, including being featured in the Wall Street Journal. NIL Program Growth and Expansion Greg and Crystal discussed the success of their NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) program, highlighting the partnership with the University of Maine and the growth of Pliable athletes in the region. They emphasized the program's unique approach to NIL, focusing on community impact rather than just revenue sharing. The discussion included concerns about scaling the program while maintaining control and ensuring it aligns with their brand values across multiple states. Both Greg and Crystal expressed excitement about future opportunities to present the program at conferences, trade shows, and colleges, as well as their commitment to making a positive community impact. Community Ambassador Program Expansion Plans Greg and Crystal discussed the success of their community ambassador program, highlighting the application process, waiting list, and NIL education opportunities through Pliable U. Greg emphasized the importance of athletes educating themselves about name, image, and likeness opportunities and how it works prior to applying for the Aroma Joe's Community Ambassador Program. This is a requirement of becoming a Community Ambassador for Aroma Joe's. Stay connected with us at americangroundradio.com, on Facebook, and Instagram. You're listening to American Ground Radio with Louis R. Avallone and Stephen Parr. This is the full show for April 30, 2026. We open with a media language lesson — because after 76 days of Democrats in the Senate shutting down the Department of Homeland Security, headlines across the country said the House finally ended the shutdown, as if Mike Johnson was the problem. We correct the record, explain exactly how budget reconciliation allowed Republicans to fund DHS, ICE, Border Patrol, the Coast Guard, Secret Service, and TSA without a single Democratic vote, and ask the question nobody in big media wanted to answer — what does it say about a political party that was willing to leave the Secret Service tip line unmonitored for 76 days, right up until someone walked into the White House Correspondents' Dinner with a shotgun? In our Top 3 Things You Need to Know, the Florida legislature passed a new redistricting map in a single day — passing the House on party lines and the Senate 21 to 17 — expected to flip four Democrat seats Republican and help Republicans hold the House this fall. Then first-time unemployment claims fell to 189,000 last week, the lowest level since 1969, and as a percentage of the workforce, an all-time record low — at a time when there are 143 million more people in the country than there were the last time numbers were this good. And Maine Governor Janet Mills dropped out of the Democrat Senate primary, leaving the party's nomination to go to political newcomer Graham Plattner — the candidate who made national news when it was revealed he has a literal Nazi tattoo on his chest that he claims he didn't know was a Nazi symbol. Our American Mamas Teri Netterville and Kimberly Burleson tackle the viral TikTok trend of men introducing their AI companions to their families as boyfriends or girlfriends — and why a supportive mom validating her son's relationship with a chatbot isn't love, it's enabling. We talk about why AI companions mirror and validate rather than challenge and grow you, why that's the opposite of what a real relationship does, why kids with imaginary friends are actually developing healthier coping skills, and why joy — not just happiness — is the standard we should be holding our lives to. We also play the clip of Democrat Congressman Seth Moulton on CNN saying Pete Hegseth is guilty of war crimes — and that Allied nations tried and executed Nazi submarine captains for doing the same thing. We call this what it is — rhetoric that gets people killed — and connect it directly to the pattern of political violence that has now produced at least four armed attempts on the president's life and 19 documented assassination plots, more than any president in American history. In our Digging Deep segment, the Free Beacon obtained through open records the actual rubric that Portland, Oregon uses to determine who gets homeless shelter services first — and it is not need-based. It is intersectionality-based. A woman who is a domestic violence survivor with a six-year-old child who has been homeless for over a year scores lower than a non-white, non-straight, non-English-speaking applicant with fewer boxes checked. In Maryland and Minnesota, race is the single biggest factor in determining whether someone gets housing benefits — more important than whether they are actually currently homeless. We connect this to the Supreme Court's racial redistricting decision this week and ask whether in the 250th year of this nation, we have figured out what all men are created equal actually means. We also cover the Comey indictment — specifically how Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche personally stepped in to pursue the case after Pam Bondi had shelved it. We explain why this isn't primarily about winning a conviction — it's about throwing cold water on an environment where coded threats against the president have become casual, normalized, and consequence-free. We also cover former Senator Ben Sasse — diagnosed with stage four pancreatic cancer in December, sleeping 15 hours a day from chemotherapy, and spending the time he has left giving interviews about whether he loved enough, whether he did what he was called to do, and whether any of us are living as if time actually runs out. For our Bright Spot, a Harvard Harris poll — not a right-leaning outlet — shows that 52% of Americans support U.S. military airstrikes on Iran, 54% say they were justified, 74% say the U.S. is winning, and 78% say Trump was right to agree to a temporary ceasefire. We talk about what these numbers mean for the midterm narrative that the Iran conflict is a political liability — and why you should never bet against the American people. We also address Tucker Carlson's claim that President Trump has contempt for normal Americans and doesn't care about Baltimore or rural America — and explain why the man who just posted the lowest per-capita weekly unemployment numbers in American history doesn't need Tucker Carlson to tell him who he cares about. And we close with 14-year-old Jude Baker — who finished chemotherapy for a rare form of bone cancer, rang the bell at the clinic, and when Make-A-Wish offered him any adventure he wanted, asked instead if he could stuff backpacks and prepare hot meals for more than 300 homeless people living near the hospital where he received treatment. He said, I wanted to help them because I was in a bad situation and they were too. May your pursuit of happiness bring you joy. On this episode of On The Ball with Ric Bucher, Ric briefly touches on LeBron James, the Lakers' playoff positioning, Cade Cunningham's award eligibility, and the chaos brewing in the final stretch of the NBA season — but then takes a hard turn into a bigger issue exposed by March Madness.Ric argues that one of college basketball's most celebrated traditions — emptying the bench in the final seconds of a blowout — is not a heartwarming gesture at all. In his view, it can be performative, demeaning, and completely disconnected from what real competitors actually want. Drawing on his own playing experience, the example of Dean Smith, conversations with current athletes, and the firsthand experience of watching his daughter play in the NCAA Tournament, Ric explains why token late-game appearances can feel more like humiliation than reward. This is a sharp, deeply personal episode about coaching, competition, respect, and the life lessons sports are supposed to teach — the same themes at the heart of Ric's upcoming book, Coachable: The Secret to How Legendary Performers Reach Their Highest Potential.Condensed Time Stamps 0:00 Intro, Ric's new book Coachable, United WeCast plugs, and New Air Club 2:46 LeBron's loose-ball dive, Lakers chemistry, and why one moment proves nothing 4:42 Lakers playoff seeding, Rockets vs. Timberwolves, and why size still matters 6:53 Cade Cunningham, awards eligibility, and Ric's broader mission in sports coverage 9:18 The real lessons sports are supposed to teach 9:48 March Madness outrage, coaching clips, and why social media lacks context 11:46 Why Brenda Frese's fiery exchange was not “controversial” 12:50 Ric's real target: the empty-the-bench ritual in NCAA blowouts 14:01 Ric's daughter's March Madness experience with Cal Baptist vs. UCLA 16:02 Why token appearances can feel insulting, not rewarding 17:03 Dean Smith's original approach vs. today's hollow substitution theater 18:13 Why gradual reserve minutes are better for development and respect 20:32 The “don't treat me like a Make-A-Wish kid” story 22:15 Why players don't see garbage-time cameos as meaningful participation 25:16 What college coaches should do instead 27:20 Ric checks with current athletes — and they agree 28:19 Outro and what's next on On The BallHashtags #OnTheBall #RicBucher #MarchMadness #NCAATournament #CollegeBasketball #WomensBasketball #BasketballPodcast #SportsMedia #Coaching #SportsCulture #LeBronJames #Lakers #NBA #CadeCunningham #UnitedWeCastSupport this show http://supporter.acast.com/bucher-and-friends.
