Team USA manager Mark DeRosa finds himself under the microscope after controversial comments about the World Baseball Classic standings, and the attempt to clarify only seems to make things worse. The crew breaks down how the narrative around Team USA's path to the quarterfinals spiraled, why DeRosa's explanations aren't landing, and how roster “guardrails” from MLB teams could complicate the United States' quest for another WBC title. Later, the conversation shifts from international baseball to one of basketball's most debated moments: Wilt Chamberlain's legendary 100-point game. Is it untouchable greatness, or is there a legitimate argument about the unusual circumstances surrounding that night in Hershey? Plus, a caller controversy erupts after a listener is accused of stealing a Jets strategy idea, sparking a hilarious on-air debate about originality, credit, and sports radio etiquette.

Seth and Sean assess what from this week looks the worst: Team USA Manager Mark DeRosa thinking the USA was advancing when that wasn't the case yet, whoever is responsible for Bam Adebayo's 83 points, or the Ravens backing out of trading for Maxx Crosby.
Seth and Sean assess who's looked the worst this week out of Mark DeRosa not knowing team USA wasn't 100% advancing yet, Bam Adebayo's 83-point game, or the Ravens canceling the Maxx Crosby trade, then see who Garrett Podell of CBS Sports has the Texans taking in today's Mock Draft Injection.

From the pregame comments to the lineup choices, they debate whether DeRosa simply misspoke or flat-out failed in a huge spot. The guys also get into the confusing WBC tiebreakers, why Team USA still hasn't fully sold America on caring about this tournament, and why this kind of mistake is impossible to ignore.
van and Tiki open with a takedown of Mark DeRosa after Team USA's chaotic World Baseball Classic loss, questioning how the manager could misread the tournament scenario so badly. They dive into the confusing tiebreakers, DeRosa's lineup decisions, and whether Team USA is taking the WBC seriously enough. Then the conversation shifts back to Geno Smith and the Jets, including whether fans are being too harsh and what realistic expectations should be. Plus, Mets and Yankees fans go at it after Nolan McLean and Aaron Judge become lightning rods in a wild WBC debate.

We have to start with the WBC… it was bad enough that USA lost to Italy last night, but for DeRosa to have thought that the US had punched their ticket to the quarterfinals after the win over Mexico takes things to a new level. Apparently team USA sat around telling stories and drinking beer after the win over Mexico and there were some guys who weren't feeling too great yesterday as DeRosa told MLB Network. How did no one correct him and tell him they weren't guaranteed a spot in the quarters yet? The US went out and gave up 5 runs early to Italy… sloppy defensive play added three more runs and the US found themselves in an 8-0 hole before their bats woke up. Now we wait to see what happens with Italy and Mexico today and can only hope that the US isn't eliminated. :30- The Drama in the WBC wasn't the only thing going on last night… The Baltimore Ravens backed out of the trade with the Raiders for Maxx Crosby, saying he didn't pass their physical. This morning they have conveniently signed Trey Hendrickson to a 4-year deal and got to keep their first round draft picks. So, did Crosby fail the physical or did the Ravens just get cold feet? :45- We told you there was a lot going on, so we head to the NBA, where Bam Adebayo dropped 83 points last night. But it was not without controversy as 43 points came from free throws and the Heat were doing all they could to get him the ball and more time to score. Welcome to Episode 146 of Tablesetters, where we cover everything happening across the world of baseball. Tonight's LIVE special follows the opening matchup between Team USA and Brazil as Pool B play begins in Houston at the 2026 World Baseball Classic. We're recording immediately after the final out, breaking down Team USA's 15–5 victory over Brazil — examining pitching usage, lineup construction, key moments, and what the result means for the United States as the tournament begins to take shape. Manager Mark DeRosa entered the tournament with one of the most closely watched pitching plans of any national team. Earlier this week he finalized the United States' rotation structure, beginning with Logan Webb starting tonight's opener against Brazil. Webb has quietly developed into one of the most dependable starters in the National League, built around a heavy sinker that generates ground balls and limits damaging contact. In a condensed international tournament where efficiency can matter as much as dominance, that profile made him a logical choice to anchor the first game of pool play. Behind Webb, the American rotation quickly transitions into two of the most overpowering arms in baseball. Two-time American League Cy Young winner Tarik Skubal is scheduled to take the ball in Game 2 against Great Britain, while reigning National League Cy Young winner Paul Skenes is lined up to face Mexico in Game 3. The fourth game against Italy is currently projected for Nolan McLean, though that plan remains fluid as he continues recovering from a recent illness. The structure of the rotation reflects the unique challenge of the World Baseball Classic. Pitchers must operate under tournament pitch limits while also remaining aligned with their Major League clubs' preparation for Opening Day. DeRosa acknowledged earlier this week that managing those constraints requires balancing competitiveness with long-term health and scheduling realities. Offensively, the American roster remains one of the deepest assembled in international baseball. Team captain Aaron Judge addressed the group before the tournament began, emphasizing the pride associated with representing the United States. The lineup surrounding him features elite star power and positional flexibility, including potential platoon usage in center field between Pete Crow-Armstrong and Byron Buxton. The broader tournament landscape only heightens the significance of tonight's opener. The 2026 World Baseball Classic features 20 national teams competing across Tokyo, San Juan, Houston, and Miami through March 17. Japan enters the tournament as the defending champion after defeating the United States in the 2023 final, while several other nations — including the Dominican Republic, Venezuela, and Puerto Rico — arrive with rosters capable of making deep runs. Tonight was the first step in that journey for the United States — and it ended with a decisive 15–5 opening win.

Innika De Rosa's journey into ski mountaineering is one of the most unique you'll ever hear. Unlike many athletes, the Australian didn't grow up in sport, but after moving to Norway, a series of unexpected events introduced her to SkiMo, a discipline now on the cusp of its Olympic debut. Earlier this year, her path took a dramatic turn when she broke her leg at the World Championships in Switzerland, but Innika remains determined to keep chasing her Olympic dream. In this conversation, she opens up about how she discovered the sport, the challenges of recovery, and what drives her to keep pushing toward the Games in what is by far one of the most entertaining interviews we've ever had on this show! Don't miss it!
