Christ Community Church
From our Pentecost series. Having been ignited by the Holy Spirit, the early Church went on to participate daily in the life of the Spirit. It is not enough simply to receive the Holy Spirit one time; we must continue to "walk in step with," must "go on being filled" by the Holy Spirit. This week we take a look at Acts 2:42-47 to see how the Church in book of Acts continued to partner with the work of the Spirit in and through them and to learn how we can feed the fire. For more information, visit canopy.church.

Jesus creates a society of friends who are connected to him and to one another through him, like a vine and branches. The society of Jesus’ friends embodies his self-giving love. Friends lay down their lives for one another. This divided, hurting world desperately needs the society of Jesus’ friends.
Acts 2:42-47
Sarah looks at the first 2 of the assigned lectionary texts for May 7, 2017, the 4th Sunday of Easter. This Sunday is referred to as Good Shepherd Sunday, with 3 of the texts talking about sheep and/or shepherds. Psalm 23 is arguably one of the most popular and recognizable Psalm with it's image of a shepherd who leads his sheep to safety and comfort. Acts 2:42-47 is a transitional point in the story, moving from Peter's sermon on Pentecost to the workings of the early church communities.Follow the GSMC Bible Study Podcast at http://www.gsmcpodcast.com/bible-study.html
