Just in time for some festive output for December. With a veritable santa's stocking of chilled grooves, lush soulful keys and synths, we start off with a bit of Burial's latest work, moving through more low-keyness and moodily into an amazing track by Aamon, where the flows gets a more atmospheric and uplifting groove on - Think RoninXChicane:). From here onwards is the gradual ascension through tracks with a heavier floor presence that builds through a bit of party style from 97 to a pinnacle of Piano-Scratch Frenzy from ACIDUKE in first of 3 'Bonus' tracks. I'm particularly loving the spacey soul influences on the Mozaique, 24HSP, and Space Echo releases and the stabby chords on Tube and Berger, not too mention the smoothly vibed 'Early morning Champagne' with Woz treading a tight line close to UKG. After using Pete Bellis' TQ Re-Edit of Gotye, I couldn't resist the rework that he's done on Reflections in a slightly more progresive direction, v. nice. Alveol and Genoveva give us a lush warm finisher, electronica/deep crossover at it's best. Enjoy, Mr. Retalin The abyssal zone is the abyssopelagic layer or pelagic zone that contains the very deep benthic communities near the bottom of oceans. "Abyss" derives from the Greek word ἄ, meaning bottomless. At depths of 4,000 to 6,000 meters (13,123 to 19,685 feet), this zone remains in perpetual darkness and never receives daylight. It is the deeper part of the midnight zone which starts in the bathypelagic waters above. Its permanent inhabitants (for example, the black swallower, tripod fish, deep-sea anglerfish and the giant squid) are able to withstand the immense pressures of the ocean depths, up to 76 megapascals (11,000 psi).Many abyssal creatures have underslung jaws to sift through the sand to catch food. These regions are also characterized by continuous cold and lack of nutrients. The abyssal zone has temperatures around 2 C to 3 C (35 F to 37 F) through the large majority of its mass. The area below the abyssal zone is the sparsely inhabited Hadal zone. The zone above is the bathyal zone. These three zones belong to the deep-sea realm. Above on the continental platform there are respectively the euphotic and dysphotic zones. The abyssal zone lies partially in the dysphotic and partially in the aphotic zones. Lots of tracks on this episode that have got me switched on lately, mostly new with a couple of older classics from jaytech and Axus/Rocco, quite a lot of vocal activity with underlying analogue bass-lines and chords. Slowly builds through a warm, sexy organic sound that develops into a tech flow at T8, with some lush sounds on 9 and 10, returning to a warmer deep tech deep house groove that finishes on a really rich layered track by Alveol. According to studies an estimated 5 per cent of people older than 65 years are suffering from Alzheimer’s disease. The pathology of this disease might also influence some anaesthesiological parameters. The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of the Alzheimer- like pathology on the minimal alveolar concentration (MAC) of isoflurane in two mice models of Alzheimer’s disease. The MAC values of isoflurane were determined in twelve fifty month old, transgenic APP23 male mice, which over-express a human amyloid precursor protein with the Swedish double mutation and of twelve of their non-transgenic littermates. In the same way, the MAC values of twelve fifty month old, male transgenic APP51 mice, which carry the same genetic construct as the APP23, however, without the Swedish double mutation and of twelve of their non-transgenic littermates were determined. The animals breathed isoflurane in oxygen/air (FiO2=0,5) spontaneously through a nose chamber. The motor reaction to toe-clamping was recorded at various end-expiratory measured concentrations of isoflurane. An individual MAC was defined as the average between the largest isoflurane concentration permitting movement and the smallest concentration preventing it.
