Entrevista Andreu: [2:14] Bon dia, Pam! Pam: [2:16] Hola, bon dia! Andreu: [2:17] Bé, t'he dit Pam… o t'he de dir Pamela? Pam: [2:20] No, Pam em sembla fantàstic. Andreu: [2:22] Pam va bé, d'acord. Doncs, a veure, tu i jo ja ens coneixem, ens vam conèixer l'any passat, el 2024, a l'episodi en públic que vam fer… [2025.]
Why has Russia's military struggled to adapt to the challenges of contemporary warfare? Despite years of attempts to improve its military capabilities, Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022 revealed a crippling lack of skill, discipline and equipment. Non-material factors, in particular the power struggle between military and civilian leaderships, have hindered reform of its armed forces: with officers dominating defence policy, the Kremlin has struggled to implement the necessary changes. In Civil-Military Relations in Russian Defense Policymaking (Oxford UP, 2026) Kirill Shamiev explores the political reasons behind Russia's poor military preparedness for the war in Ukraine. He demonstrates how a seemingly obedient military has frequently blocked civilian reforms, taking advantage of weak oversight mechanisms. The Kremlin's efforts to centralise control and make the armed forces personally accountable to President Vladimir Putin harmed institutional learning, cementing a conservative civil-military status quo. While this protected the military from civil society interference and ensured Putin's autocratic rule, it ultimately limited the pace and scope of change. Analysing three cases of reform between 2000 and 2021,Imperfect Equilibrium offers critical insights into the relationship between civilian control and military effectiveness in Russia. Drawing on extensive qualitative and quantitative evidence--including interviews, parliamentary speeches, media reports and surveys--it shows how unchecked autonomy can undermine military development, even in authoritarian contexts. Back in 2019, the ground floor flat at 4 Darell Road in Kew was home to 34-year-old Laureline Garcia-Bertaux, a busy singleton working in the media who had big plans of being a creative success, and was striving to make it happen. She had a good job, a busy social life, she was liked, and she was popular. By the March, she was about to begin (what she believed or maybe hoped) was a fresh start by moving to a new flat. Yet, something was eating away at her, a sickness that pervaded her life, and a terminal disease which could never be cured, but this wasn't a virus which festered within, it was all around her, and it had been for a decade.Location: Ground Floor Flat, 4 Darell Road, Kew, Richmond, TW4Date: Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd of March 2019Victims: Laureline Garcia-BertauxCulprit: Kirill BelorusovSeven time nominated at the True Crime Awards, Independent Podcast Awards and the British Podcast Awards, Murder Mile is one of the best UK / British true crime podcasts covering only 20 square miles of West London. Transcripció Andreu: [0:15] Bon dia a tothom! No? Som-hi! Andreu: [3:31] Bon dia, Fairlie! Com estàs? Fairlie: [3:34] Hola! Molt bon dia, Andreu! Molt bé, i tu? Andreu: [3:37] Molt bé, també. Content que estiguis aquí al pòdcast. Benvinguda.

Kirill Karabits and the orchestra whose Principal Conductor he was for 15 years, the Bournemouth Symphony, have recorded the opera Esther by Thomas de Hartmann (1885-1956). Written in Paris during the last years of the Second World War, and completed in 1946, Esther is based on the play by Racine which in turn draws on the biblical Book of Esther and tells of Esther's intercession to her husband King Ahasuerus on behalf her fellow Jews living in Persia. The episode is celebrated in the Jewish holiday of Purim every spring. Released by Pentatone, the opera features Corinne Winters in the title role, Yuriy Yurchuk sings Assuérus, Andrew Foster-Williams sings Mardochée and Bernard Richter is Aman. The Grange Festival Chorus join the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra. James Jolly spoke to Kirill Karabits about the project recently when he was in the UK conducting the LPO. Today's podcast is sponsored by Kirker Holidays, creators of short breaks and tailor-made holidays for curious, discerning travellers to cultural destinations throughout Europe and beyond. In this episode we start to peel back the layers of history behind of the meeting of Pope Francis and Patriarch of Kirill of Moscow in February of 2016. Many claims of superlatives have been made about this meeting. Was it the first meeting of its kind? Happy Easter Monday to the Wild on 7th faithful! We hope you had a wonderful weekend. Ryan and John are back in the studio this week to recap the latest Minnesota Wild games over their back to back weekend. The guys pass out bouquets to nearly the entire roster, share their love for Kirill's bangs, Trenin's hits, and Easter ham, but the real star of this weeks show is the zyn Santa himself, #7 Brock Faber. Brock graciously stopped by the Custom One Club at Grand Casino Arena following team picture day, and shared some laughs with Carts and Kinger. Thankfully, Brock brought his mustache along for the ride, as all eyes look towards the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Throw away your trimmer, because the playoffs are almost here!
On this episode of The Movie Podcast, Daniel heads to SXSW in Austin, Texas to sit down with Zazie Beetz, Patricia Arquette, and Producers Andy and Barbara Muschietti of THEY WILL KILL YOU. Following the interview, Daniel, Shahbaz, and Anthony are joined by Director Kirill Sokolov for a more in-depth discussion of the film, with light spoilers. In the film, a desperate woman answers a cryptic ad for a live-in housekeeper at a luxurious yet foreboding New York City high-rise. Upon arrival, she uncovers the building's sinister history: residents have vanished without trace for decades, fueling whispers of a Satanic cult lurking in the shadows. What starts as a gig from hell spirals into a fight for survival against ritualistic horrors and twisted loyalties. They Will Kill You is out now exclusively in theatres. Trade deadline has passed, and the Minnesota Wild have clearly made the biggest splash in the league (that just so happened a month prior to the deadline) with Quinn Hughes. Carts and King connect this week after a flurry of pods surrounding Kirill and Zuccy, the boys high school hockey tournament and the trade deadline, so it's nice to be back in the studio for some good old fashion Wild on 7th banter! King was stuck in transit earlier this week, with a huge spring snow storm wreaking havoc on his travel plans, so we've made a couple pivots and here we are...a Wednesday pod. The guys breakdown a number of milestones happening for Minnesota Wild hockey, give some bouquets to Ryan Hartman, Equipment Manager Tony DeCosta, JoJo, Brodie, Bolds, and the list goes on! When it's all said and done, the main take away is that the Minnesota Wild are a legit team, possibly in the most legit position in franchise history, and the guys have their sights on the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Welcome back to Wild on 7th....it's almost time to get weird!

Andreu: [2:10] Bon dia, Kirill! Kirill: [2:12] Bon dia, Andreu! Andreu: [2:13] Com va, això? Kirill: [2:14] Molt bé, gràcies per convidar-me. Kirill: [3:35] Som-hi, endavant.
A new breed of “micro-indie” publisher is emerging: teams that fund sub-$200K games, ship fast, and treat releases like a portfolio. In this episode, host Alexandra Takei, VP at Medal, sits down with Kirill Akimkin, founder of Polden Publishing, to unpack the world of micro indies and discovery. In 2025, they shipped almost 8 games with $800K and plan to ship 20 titles in 2026. Kirill explains that much of their developer pipeline is inbound: a Telegram-led media presence brings developers to them, and that they are more “researchers” than experts, with strict KPIs for a game's release. We discuss their genre strategy, developer strategy, and more. The conversation then turns to discovery, both outside Steam and building towards the Steam algorithm for wishlists. Kirill frames marketing as a repeatable machine: short-form content, creators, and community spikes are used to drive consistent wishlist velocity, which then feeds Steam's surfaces (Discovery Queue, Popular Upcoming, demo visibility, and post-launch recommendations) and the duo discuss case studies of Fish Hunters, Totally Secure Airport (which got 75K+ wishlists in on day), and Final Sentance. They close with questions on where discovery happens, what today's games in micro indies indicate about modern-day gamers' tastes, and the perception of AI in low-budget titles. If you are shipping a PC game on Steam this year, this is a must-listen. We'd like to thank Medal.tv for making this episode possible. There are moments in the history of sports that are so big that you remember exactly where you were, the people you were with, the smells, the sounds, the purity of the moment. Hopefully today is NOT that day for you, because this is just a podcast. However, we really appreciate your enthusiasm and support, and it's still a historic day for Wild on 7th and all of our listeners. Today, one of hockey's most famous duos, Kirill Kaprizov and Mats Zuccarello, join Wild on 7th for the first time TOGETHER. Kirill and Zuccy join Ryan Carter and John King for an amazing show that goes well beyond hockey. Stories of youth sports, equipment mods, vacations, and international travel, are just scratching the surface. The guys spend nearly an hour in-studio, and the interactions between the two could nearly carry the whole show itself. They've been bugging us for years to come on the show, and we were finally able to clear our calendars so we could share the airwaves together. Grab yourself a PB&J, or a bowl of borscht, and enjoy the show.
