The Rise of Islam & the Crisis of Biblical Christianity | KWR0062 Kingdom War Room DESCRIPTION What happens when a civilization loses its biblical foundations while competing religious and ideological systems grow stronger? In this powerful Kingdom War Room discussion, Dr. Michael Lake, Dr. Mike Spaulding, and Pastor Corby Shuey examine the growing influence of Islam in the Western world, the ideological conflicts facing America, and the spiritual condition that has left much of the modern Church unprepared to respond. This conversation is not a call for hatred, hostility, or mistreatment of Muslims. The speakers explicitly distinguish between people and the doctrines and ideological claims they are examining. The deeper question is: DO CHRISTIANS ACTUALLY KNOW WHAT THEY BELIEVE? The Church is entering an age in which shallow Christianity will not be sufficient. As competing worldviews grow increasingly bold, believers must understand the Scriptures, know why they believe what they believe, develop biblical discernment, and become deeply rooted in Jesus Christ. This episode examines: · The rise of Islamic influence in Western culture and politics · Islam, Sharia, jihad, and competing religious worldviews · Why Christians must understand the theological differences between the biblical Jesus and the Islamic understanding of Jesus · The relationship between postmodernism, cultural deconstruction, socialism, and Islamism discussed by the panel · How emotionalism has weakened biblical Christianity · Why believers must learn to distinguish feelings from biblical truth · The danger of churches abandoning serious biblical study · Why spiritual discernment will become increasingly important · The need for pastors and Christian leaders to preach biblical truth without fear · Why the next generation desperately needs a biblical worldview · The difference between emotional conversion and genuine faith in Jesus Christ · Why worship must be centered on God rather than human experience · The necessity of spiritual discipline and deep biblical conviction Why the Remnant must develop deep spiritual roots for the days ahead One of the central warnings of this Kingdom War Room is simple: A shallow faith cannot withstand a serious spiritual battle. Dr. Lake observes that Christians have moved from being a studious people to becoming an entertainment-oriented people. Dr. Spaulding warns that believers who do not know Scripture or understand why they believe what they believe will find themselves increasingly unprepared for opposition. The answer is not fear. The answer is not hatred. The answer is not political violence. The answer is a Church that returns to the Word of God, walks in the fear of the Lord, develops spiritual discernment, and becomes firmly rooted in Jesus Christ. Pastor Corby makes this especially clear in the closing prayer: the response being advocated is not rudeness, violence, or aggression toward others, but humble submission to Scripture and faithful allegiance to Jesus Christ. The time for "three-millimeter-deep Christianity" is over. We need roots that run deep. We need believers who know the Word. We need men and women who understand their faith. And above everything else, we need a generation that knows Jesus Christ as Lord, King, Messiah, Redeemer, and Savior. KEY SCRIPTURES FEATURED Hosea 11:4–7 — God calls His people back to Himself rather than trusting competing powers and false systems. Job 38:3 — "Dress for action like a man"; the discussion uses Job to emphasize accountability before Almighty God. Matthew 24 — The episode connects contemporary deception with Jesus' warnings concerning the last days. Psalm 1 — The closing exhortation uses the image of the deeply rooted tree as a model for believers who must withstand spiritual drought. The episode also repeatedly emphasizes the biblical confession of Jesus Christ as Lord, Messiah, Savior, Redeemer, and God incarnate. The discussion specifically contrasts that confession with Islamic Christology.
Bryan and Rocky discuss a key principle in the DNA of The Journey Process of “Starting small, going deep and praying big” to continue helping our leaders understand the spiritual dynamic of Jesus' way of making disciples. This is what we The Journey is all about and how this ministry has been built from day one. A must listen, especially for our leaders and guides.
Kid and El Pres are back in the studio, and Kid isn't exactly arriving with a clear head. A relationship he thought had long-term potential has suddenly gone quiet, leaving him trying to reconcile the comfort of believing he'd found somebody to grow old with against the reality of barely communicating at all. Beneath all the usual Goin' Deep stupidity is something considerably more sincere: the realization that the podcast has always been a place where jokes cover heavier things that don't necessarily get discussed anywhere else. Kid returns from a vintage baseball weekend where the Independents got their asses kicked, the roster looked increasingly aware of its collective age and the team captain missed the festivities after getting sick. The baseball may have been rough, but the friends weekend and general distraction were exactly what Kid needed. That leads into the other major distraction of the week: Foo Fighters in Detroit. Kid and El Pres put the show among the best concerts they've attended, with Kid comparing it against an Eagles show that still holds the championship belt in his personal concert rankings. Queen of the Stone Age gets plenty of love too, along with a tease about an old Josh Homme story involving somebody connected to the show. Then artificial intelligence takes over the studio. Kid starts demonstrating how easily old photographs can now be animated, altered and completely reinvented. An innocent old Goin' Deep studio photo slowly mutates until the original Red Eye looks like he's spent the last decade secretly training for an action movie. That sends the guys into the larger question of whether AI has made fantasy so instantly available that younger people simply aren't impressed by the things that once felt forbidden or exciting. That becomes part of a bigger generational argument. Are younger audiences really less interested in sex scenes? Did growing up with unlimited access to everything fundamentally change what feels provocative? And what happened to the traditional rock star, who once existed in a world without somebody filming every stupid decision from six feet away? El Pres is meanwhile approaching retirement and beginning to imagine life without worrying quite so much about what everybody thinks. Travel enters the picture, including Paris, London, Liverpool, Abbey Road and Ireland, while Kid argues that making those memories with his son could be worth more than anything sitting around the house. There are detours through Buc-ee's chaos, social-media personalities who may or may not resemble AI, old morality films that aged spectacularly badly, Detroit Tigers anxiety, the Dodgers tempting fate, and the strange experience of podcast listeners recognizing Kid away from the microphone and knowing considerably more about his life than expected. And finally, civilization arrives at the question philosophers were apparently too frightened to ask: Why do bangs look like a warning sign? Grok is summoned. Grok is instructed to become less polite. Grok eventually concludes that bangs represent a daily declaration of war against the forehead. That seems scientific enough for this show. Listen in Go Deep

Joe Cole is joined by former Portugal, Southampton, Crystal Palace and West Ham defender Jose Fonte for a fascinating deep dive into Cristiano Ronaldo, Portugal's World Cup campaign and England's chances of lifting the trophy. Fonte explains why he believes Ronaldo still has to start for Portugal at the age of 41, what makes him a "different animal" compared to every other player he's encountered, and recalls the first time he came up against a teenage Ronaldo and immediately knew he was destined for greatness. He also reveals what Ronaldo is really like away from the spotlight, discusses the unbelievable level of fame he has to live with, and gives his verdict on the never-ending Messi vs Ronaldo debate. Elsewhere, Jose and Joe assess the World Cup so far, discuss why England are genuine contenders, reveal which teams have impressed them most, and explain why the USA remind Fonte of the Southampton side Mauricio Pochettino built. Joe also reveals why Pochettino gives him "Russell Crowe in Gladiator" vibes during this tournament. Plus, Fonte looks back on Portugal's historic Euro 2016 triumph, explains why the squad never panicked after Ronaldo's injury in the final, reveals whether today's Portugal side is stronger than the one that became European champions, and highlights the huge influence Bruno Fernandes has on the team. There's also the story of the most intelligent team-mate he ever played alongside and his favourite moments of the World Cup so far. Are your prospective clients taking longer to sign contracts? Are projects stretching across years instead of months? Are clients questioning purchases, breaking projects into phases, or running your designs through AI before making decisions? In this episode of Business Behind the Design, Michelle Lynne is joined by Ruth Ann Jansen, Melissa Lee, and Erika Bonnell for an honest conversation about the realities interior designers are facing right now. The panel discusses how shifting client behavior, economic uncertainty, AI, and increased competition are changing the design industry—and the strategies successful firms are using to protect their time, maintain profitability, and continue delivering exceptional client experiences. From contract clauses and project pause fees to vendor relationships, luxury client experiences, and the growing importance of human connection in an AI-driven world, this conversation offers practical insights for designers looking to navigate today's market with confidence. In This Episode, We Discuss: Why clients are taking longer to make decisions than ever before The impact of AI on the interior design industry How designers are protecting themselves from stalled projects Contract clauses every firm should consider Why your design fee must stand on its own—even if furnishings never happen The risks of relying on furniture margins to make a project profitable How to structure fees for long-term custom home projects The growing appeal of procurement support and outsourcing Why relationships still matter more than technology How luxury firms are elevating the client experience Building stronger relationships with vendors, builders, and trades Why some firms are becoming more selective about the projects they accept The future of AI and interior design Key Takeaways Clients Are More Analytical Than Ever Designers across the industry are seeing clients spend more time researching, comparing options, and evaluating investments before committing. Economic uncertainty, increased competition, and access to AI tools are all contributing factors. Protect Your Time with Clear Boundaries Several panelists share how they're implementing project pause clauses, restart fees, contract expiration dates, and payment milestones to prevent projects from lingering indefinitely. Design Fees Should Be Profitable on Their Own One of the biggest mistakes newer designers make is reducing design fees in anticipation of earning profit through furnishings. The panel emphasizes the importance of pricing every service as a standalone offering. AI Can't Replace Relationships While AI may influence how clients research designers and products, the group agrees that successful projects still depend on expertise, experience, vendor relationships, and human connection. The Client Experience Is Becoming a Competitive Advantage Whether it's personalized gifts, thoughtful touchpoints, or simply understanding what matters most to clients, creating memorable experiences continues to set premium firms apart. Go Deep, Not Wide When it comes to vendors and product partners, building stronger relationships with fewer, carefully selected partners often creates better outcomes than constantly chasing new sources. Episode 2324 - This episode starts exactly where longtime listeners would expect: nowhere near normal. Hat Trick drops updates on life with the Fireman, including discussions about balancing kids, schedules, distance, and an apparently unstoppable sex drive. That launches a deep dive into relationship dynamics, why absence can make things more exciting, and whether the ideal arrangement is actually seeing somebody just often enough to miss them. Along the way, the crew revisits hotel hot tubs, old hookup stories, porn logic, social media rabbit holes, fake breast trends, and the strange ways algorithms learn exactly what people like looking at online. Kid shares stories from his younger years, family reflections, and thoughts on reconnecting with relatives as life moves forward. The conversation also drifts into baseball, Tigers games, outrageous concession prices, vintage parking spots, summer adventures, and Kid's ongoing mission to turn every random observation into a podcast bit. By the end, there are updates on new creative connections, future guests, listener-line promos, Hat Trick's weekend plans, and a baseball performance that left Kid feeling pretty damn good about himself. Fatherhood has been one of the greatest gifts and blessings of my life. As I prepare to celebrate Father's Day this weekend and soon enter a brand-new season as an empty nester, I've been reflecting on the journey of raising three incredible kids over the last 23 years. The truth is, there's no playbook for being a parent. No manual. No perfect formula. You learn by diving in, showing up, making mistakes, and loving with your whole heart. In this heartfelt episode, I share the lessons, memories, and wisdom that have shaped me as a father—from those 4 a.m. newborn moments with Luke sleeping on my chest, to coaching my kids on the field, to preparing to watch all three of them spread their wings and chase their dreams. Whether you're a dad, mom, grandparent, coach, mentor, or simply someone who values family, this episode is a powerful reminder that the greatest impact we make often happens at home. In This Episode, You'll Learn: Why every season of parenting deserves to be appreciated and embraced. How becoming a parent deepens your purpose and changes your perspective forever. The power of creating meaningful experiences and memories with your family. Why the daily routines, values, and habits you instill matter more than any vacation or milestone. The bedtime affirmation that shaped the Durkin family culture for nearly two decades. How coaching your kids can strengthen your relationships and create unforgettable moments. Why volunteering, mentoring, and being involved in your children's activities matters so much. The life-changing lesson Todd learned from his father about the value of time. How "special time" with your kids can leave an imprint that lasts a lifetime. Why fathers and mothers play an irreplaceable role in shaping future generations. The emotions, excitement, and gratitude that come with entering the empty-nester chapter of life. A powerful reminder that time is our most precious commodity—and we can't afford to waste it. Fatherhood or parenting isn't about being perfect. It's about being present. It's about showing up day after day, creating experiences, building character, teaching values, and loving your kids through every season of life. As I look back on 23 years of being a Dad, what stands out most isn't the accomplishments, the awards, or the milestones—it's the moments. The conversations. The trips. The routines. The laughter. The lessons. The time. And as I prepare for this next chapter with all three of my children now pursuing their own dreams, I'm reminded that our role as parents isn't to keep our kids close forever—it's to help them grow wings and fly. If this episode spoke to you, please share it with a father, mother, coach, mentor, or someone who has made a lasting impact on your life. Episode 2323 - AI culture, corporate "token maxing," and the endless parade of internet personalities competing for the title of Most Confused Human Being Alive. A few questionable clips later, they hit the phone to call Nurse Fiona, who is riding home from a day near Caseville with a vehicle full of kids who immediately prove they inherited her sense of humor. The first half of the episode becomes an unexpected road-trip recap as Fiona, the kids, and the guys trade stories about beaches, baseball, parenting, anxiety, blended families, and why modern kids seem to have access to way more chaos than previous generations ever imagined. The younger voices steal more than a few laughs before Hat Trick arrives to get things really rolling. The conversation quickly shifts into familiar territory. Hat Trick's Fireman Saga receives a major update when she reveals that her long-running suspicions were confirmed and the married-man mystery is no longer much of a mystery. That leads to a surprisingly thoughtful discussion about honesty, boundaries, relationships, attraction, and why sometimes the arrangement everybody secretly expects turns out to be exactly the arrangement everyone wanted. Elsewhere, Kid reflects on losing Rosie, talks about mowing with a thirty-pound weighted vest like a complete lunatic, and El Pres wonders whether all middle-aged men eventually become obsessed with windows, bone density, and lawn maintenance. The crew also wanders through religion, Satan jokes, politics, conspiracy theories, wrestling at the White House, public outrage culture, concert safety, music playlists, sleeping habits, and Benson Boone's continued existence. By the end, the gang is planning future recordings, future hookups, future baseball games, and future excuses for avoiding responsibility while enjoying perfect summer weather from lawn chairs. In other words, a completely normal episode. Listen in. Go Deep.

Episode 2321 - The guys open by bitching about Bay City's endless bridge construction, zero workers on site, and locals who'd rather trash a high-school welding project than fix roads. From there it spirals into Facebook's old negative-feed study, why social media is 90% trolls, the joy of ditching your phone for an old iPod, VHS-to-DVD nightmares, and a heartfelt defense of Art Dore's Toughman contests after Sydney Sweeney's new boxing movie name-drops the local legend. Throw in Dice Clay still crushing it, a fat-shaming manifesto, zero interest in ever getting married again, and a vinyl debate about whether Greta Van Fleet is ripping off Zeppelin or keeping the flame alive. Same show, different week. Go Deep.

What Is Spiritual Weariness and How Can We Find Renewal? In this episode of The Good Faith Podcast, Curtis Chang chats with Tish Harrison Warren—Anglican priest, former New York Times columnist, and author of What Grows in Weary Lands—about burnout, spiritual weariness, and the exhaustion that escapism and rest alone cannot fix. Tish explains how polarization, digital distraction, consumerism, and isolation can leave us tempted to "flame out" or "numb out." Instead, she invites listeners to "go deeper" through prayer, silence, embodied community, Sabbath, and the difficult but meaningful commitments that lead to lasting renewal. 00:36 - Introduction to World Weariness 02:43 - Tish Describes the Draining Experience of Public Faith 06:04 - What Are the Cultural Factors of Collective Burnout? 13:01 - Dysfunctional Responses: Reinvention and Escape 15:01 - Flame Out, Numb Out, or Go Deep 20:51 - Are There Practical Steps to Go Deep? 23:29 - The Practice of "Staying in Your Cell" 26:40 - The Tough Sell of Going Deeper 32:07 - The "Dark Night of the Soul" as a Growth Stage 36:11 - Learning from Historic Church Practices 38:04 - What Do Healthy Rhythms of Engagement and Withdrawal Look Like? Are things feeling tighter in your business right now… or like they're about to? In this honest, unscripted conversation, I sit down with Tad Hargrave to talk about what's actually working as we head into uncertain economic times — not theory, not hype, but real-world strategy for coaches, creators, teachers, and entrepreneurs who want to stay in the game. We cover what happens when money tightens, why most businesses struggle before a downturn even hits, and the practical shifts you can make right now to stabilize, grow, and serve in a way that people truly need. This is not fear-based marketing. This is a grounded, strategic conversation about how to adapt, simplify, and move forward with clarity. If you're a coach, course creator, healer, educator, or purpose-driven entrepreneur… this one matters.
In the final week of our Share series (Week 4), Pastor Dave Mudd delivers a transformative message on how to naturally and effectively share the gospel. Many of us feel the weight of wanting others to know Jesus but often struggle with how to start. By looking at Luke 10, we learn that our role isn't to force doors open, but to identify the "Person of Peace" God has already prepared. This message shifts the focus from human intensity to spiritual alignment, teaching us how to be spirit-led as we embody the good news in our daily lives. Whether you are talking to a neighbor or praying for a prodigal child, discover how to move from transactional interactions to deep, life-changing relational investments.Key Takeaways:- Identify the Person of Peace: Learn to recognize the "good soil"—those individuals whose hearts are already being softened by the Holy Spirit.- Discernment Over Drive: Shift your perspective from forced persuasion to spiritual discernment, trusting that God is the one who creates the hunger for truth.- Go Deep, Not Just Wide: Understand the power of relational multiplication by investing deeply in a household or individual rather than seeking broad, surface-level reach.- The Power of Presence: Discover why entering someone's life as a humble guest is more effective for the kingdom than entering as a "conqueror".- Faithful Intercession: Gain encouragement and strategies for praying for those who currently have "hard soil" hearts or have wandered from their faith.
Episode 2317 - Kid stumbles into a live-action 7-Eleven relationship meltdown then pivots into a surprisingly thoughtful breakdown of parenting, attraction, and generational baggage… and then Hat Trick shows up and detonates the entire conversation with a scheduling plan that sounds like a NASA launch window but way less safe. Toss in baseball card midlife nostalgia, teenage glow-ups, Costco identity confusion, and a side quest into internet degeneracy, and you've got an episode that somehow connects it all without ever pretending to be normal. Listen in. Go Deep

Jay Shetty, a coach, monk, and host of the "On Purpose with Jay Shetty Podcast," has a phrase he uses often. He says, "A mile wide and an inch deep." He uses this to describe a lack of depth in modern life, knowledge, or relationships. He points out that while we have access to vast amounts of information (a "mile wide"), we rarely take the time to truly understand or apply it deeply (only "an inch deep"). In this podcast we discuss adding depth to our knowlege. Rather than accepting our miles worth of surface level knowlege, actually digging and going deeper. I relate this using an experience I had with Mashed Potatoes. Rather than accept what I knew, how I did, and the fact that I was not a great mashed potato maker, I decided to go deep, do some reading, and discover that I could become a really great mashed potato maker. We talk about two tips to help go deeper: Ask: We can't go deeper unless we want to. We have to ask questions to sources and to ourselves. If we don't give our brains a project or problem to solve, it will do it on its own and not always be productive! Apply: To make what we are learning solidified, we have to apply it! And then do it over and over and over again! Listen in to this podcast episode as we discuss adding depth to our knowledge base, and then using that depth to contribute to our world!
