I love electronic music... DJing since 1993 at various venues in Lancaster, Luton and London including Bar Vinyl, 93 Ft. East, BarSolo and the Project. My interests are widely varied and this is what I try to convey in my sound. Deep House is bread and butter, but there are plenty of extra topping…
Defined by an almost distant memory of equatorial vacations, re-kindled by Sonar 2019 and compiled to the backdrop of stranger things .. Reflecting on the last quarter, which has been every bit as intensely varied and rich as it has been blisteringly hot on the dusty baking streets of Clerkenwell for the last few weeks... The culmination of experiences and the listening influences from @Complexion TFBS radio show and Milch Bar11, leading up to and beyond the kaotic latin fiesta and electronic melange that is Sonar. Needed a spell in Ibiza, just to chill down.. .. from the heady heights of seeing Lee Burridge and Black Coffee at Hii, to the gradual lull into the calm and chilled indulgence that is Portinatx ... Where the sunset is a nightly event, and the beach bar churns out ultra poquey mango mojitos to a perfect backdrop of baroque balearic house and slo-mo The tracks from Embers LP that deservedly book-end this set with are for me, a unique and original strain of future music, underpinned by a consistently smouldering slab of urban soul. Sitting alongside some great work from Kori, Harrison and Detz, who are all representing with their own strong definition of sound. Chill, dubstep, brasil funk, future beats, deep house and indie, Vitalise tries to reflect the vibe in a package of electronica and balearic ... a few older gems seemed to bring the golden ochre tone that this all about... a varied journey from 105 to 135 ... 01 - Bucky - Harbour Interlude 02 - Samba - Senegal Sunset - (Monosonics Portinatx Live dub) 03 - James Bluntz - City lights 04 - Maricopa - Sun Scope 05 - The SOS Band - No One's gonna.. A recent sortie in the vinyl vaults, under an objective to include some lesser or never played tracks and b-sides. All tracks 18-25 years back, layed up on the platters in an unrehearsed 'Spontaneous Saturday Night' kind of session... ... produced in collaboration across the wires with Deep Transmissions, four tracks at a time... once again taking up the challenge to continue and build on the previous concept... To consolidate our different styles and common tastes, selecting outside the box to hopefully carve out a compilation with a cinematic feel, one that follows organic changes of pace, not over considered, yet still fluid, with its own sense of attitude and just a touch of sassiness. After some late nights and crazy work life balance, finally able to put out 2017's last offering, and one of a moody and organic structure, open cinematic soundscapes and textures flow through some lush techno into tight disco pressure and a lovely cut up of a Billie Ray Martin Classic, toughening up with a final plateau into some epic afro prog stuff from the legendary Manoo. Some bits from years gone by that I had missed and in this outing, the Voyage label has delivered for the ethereal spacey sound that I was looking to represent here, Synkro and Pedestrian have been on my earplay of late and hopefully augment the the seasonal feel in the concept. The intensity of the Andy Hart tune really does it for me such a groove.. first heard this @DepartmentofCoffee&SocialAffairs in Soho, Always Great coffee, tunes and real vibe :) Anyway enough of the narrative, on with the tracks and enjoy the festive season: 01 - Flori - Alone in Lake Point 02 - Synkro - Automatic Response 03 - Twin Pink - This is Not Life 04 - Albrecht La Brooy - Escape Velocity 05 - Pedestrian - Deep in Daylight 06 - Bonj - Cilantro 07 - Andy Hart - Dreams on Kepler 08 - Cehb - Secrets (mono Bridge) 09 - Freight Train - Domino Effect 10 - Anthony Mea - Shining 11 - Stones and Bones Ft Toshi - Amahloni (Manoo Main Mix) 12 - Shota - Smile (Manoo Vocal Mix)

Continuing on from the previous theme, but with a different percussive thread and mix style here... This selection casts a historical perspective from mid 80s to early 90s and brings themes of Brass and Bongo, 808 Synthesizer Electro, Soul, Boogie and Jazz Funk Basslines. The Mood starts out strongly using the 1210 as the tools that they are in a bootleg remix style of mixtape with drops into sections with a more club style of mixing, in keeping with the era. Street Sounds:1 was the first records I ever owned at age 7, and having recently revisited it, 'RainForest' is for me, still a standout track on that release. A scrape through some of my dusty crates provides something a bit different from my normal sets ... Looking back to the late 80's into early 90's when there were some amazing turntable technicians that inspired me to take up the challenge of mixing tracks on vinyl. Beyond the 4/4.. this session rolls with a jazzy, gospel Hammond, string and flute infused journey from 101 to 120 through Soul, Acid-Jazz, New Jack Swing, early Garage, Deep and Detroit House[]:[][][]: the dionne track is so raw and the messages from Billy, Mel ( you rocked live at Fylde in 95) and the Colonel are as apt and poignant today as They were back then !! 01 - Intro - JT - Interlude (MonoEcho Dub) 02 - Higher Ground - Somebody (EXtended Mix) 03 - Billy Griffin - Technicolour (Instrumental) 04 - Mantra - Vibes Alive 05 - Keith Sweat - Keep it coming (12" Mix) 06 - Karyn White - The Way you love me (Simpson House Dub) 07 - Hi Five - Playing hard to get (Hula & Fingers Extended Mix) 08 - Jazz Not Jazz - Trip and Flip (Flip Mix) 09 - Tammy Payne - Take me now (Take me dub) 10 - Melanie Williams - Not enough love (23B Soul Mix) 11 - Black Machine - How Gee 12 - George Duke - Thief in the night (Instrumental) 13 - O'Chi Brown - 100% Pure Pain (Dub) 14 - Colonel Abrams - Somebody tell me (Colonel's Mix) 15 - REP - Got me Delirious 16 - D-Note - Now's the time 17 - Joe Smooth - Rejoice (Album Mix) 18 - White Label 19 - Soho - Hot Music (Jazz Mix) 20 - REDD - There for you 21 - Skarlet & Black - Hot Sauce 22 - Blaze - So Special (So So Mix) 23 - Bora Bora - Jealousy (Instrumental) 24 - F.O.G - What you like - (Deeper Dub) 25 - Degrees of Motion - Soul Freedom (Full Flavour Mix) 26 - O-Zone - White Label - Falling In Love with you 27 - Dionne - Kisses (ALF Soul Dub) 28 - Outro - Red Light - And Then
Slowly getting back into the swing of the new year, underpinned by Electro Synths, Jazz & Dub tinged infusions of Deep House and Electronica, this mix gently blends through the first half from a base in a subterranean Hoxton drinking hole, then at the half way mark it wakes up and finds itself in a club in 1983, 'Changes' by TFF is playing and New Order are just discovering Ibiza .. Building into a more melodic and disco 808 phase into a lush 'DubTunnel' of progressive House at T10 ... finally, it takes the TimeTram right back into 2017 picking up some ElectroStep and D-Bridge/Instra:Mental styles along the way, just in time for the re-opening of Fabric... 01 - Ruby & Tevo Howard - Anna (Shield Re-Edit) 02 - Scott Diaz - Philadelphia 03 - Q Narongwate - Transition 04 - Arkun - The Dreamer's Town 05 - Olej & Kristinia Tiurina - Trust Me (StereoTeric Dub Mix) 06 - Mangaka - Bubbles for busy people 07 - Ray Dickerson - No Way without you (Patrick Gideon Mix) 08 - Marshall Brill - Midnight Safari 09 - Edmund - Analogic Vibe (Rishi K Mix) 10 - Li-Polymer - Red Magic Light 11 - T Mixwell - Grit Grime 12 - Black Atlass - Tonight (High Klassifed Mix) 13 - Amyn - Side of golden you 14 - Ewan & You - Waiting for L 15 - Deepest Nature - Dreamy Mountain
After a long hiatus, something for the seasons, a considered and culminated selection where monosonics takes an eclectic journey through jazzy and bumpy chillhop into slo-mo-disco via some ethereal soundscaping towards a Chicago inflected deeper house groove with some classic acid at the tail. Expect to hear soul inflections with nuances of New Order, DJ Krush, Nujabes, The Orb, Ulrich Snausch, U2, Stone Roses, Electro Boogie and New Wave Electro. This minimix marks the onset of spring in the northern hemisphere. Inspired and conceived back in late 2015 to capture all that is good from a Jazzy, Disco and Hip hop pallete, nodding to a London Paris connection from a 90's era in the sound set and presentation, with diverse but integrated compilation feeding into the flow. Hope it is enjoyed far and wide..
Capping of the trilogy, with a perspective on new Horizons, featuring several tracks from Southern Hemisphere artists, this episode proposes a richly defined journey through afro and austral tinged percussions with melodic layers and Jazz inferences over strongly resonant b-lines. I was really pleased that these tracks were available for me to be able to compile them, but the fave has to be the Nichen track - lovely bass line, although the production on 'All I Want' is too good to ignore and Glen Hobbs has done some exquisitely epic work as well! Hope you enjoy and It's 2016, so hope of good things for everyone! 01 Durga Amata - Life 02 Savile, Olin & Filburt - Horizon (Good Guy Mikesh Mix) 03 Mood Dusty & Cee - Special Place (Glenn Hobbs Version Dub) 04 Distant Relatives JHB - Without these memories 05 Zozo - March 16 06 Middlefield Feat. Maxxi Jazz - In my Brain (Carlos Gambino Mix) 10 - Quivver - Wait for you 11 - Starbud - Tomorrow This follow up offering follows a darker theme, very much in keeping with the eerie vibe that the image conjured up for me. Imagine deep house meets dubby ambient electronic folk in a dirty Detroit disco as the thematic here. Starting out with a nicely chilled offering from Anjunabeats the journey is a moody and quite a stripped down one. Really liked what Williams has done with the early 80's Tangerine Dream classic as featured in Risky Business :) The madness of the Maribou State and Perfume Catalogue tracks drew me in, as did the 2 pieces on RecoveryTechand Maxi Jazz's instantly recognizable contribution helped me shape the mood I was trying to achieve. Lovely resonance and fullness to the strings delivered in 'Bein' and a solid release from Quivver yet again, always a fan of his gear. Finishing off on a folky tip at the back-end with a bit of a twist. Hope you enjoy.

Culminating some hectic but eclectic recent experiences of the last few weeks and executed in the contemplative wake of a recent view of 'Eden'. Elements of Bongholio Iglesias, D:Bridge, Jacques Greene and Sasha in the selection, coming off like a Back2MineOnTheGlobalUnderground.. but most definitely monosonics on a mad one on the holistic. With a 100-120 BPM transitioning fusion of Glitch-Funk, DnB, Dub, Electronica and Deep House in an ethereally styled melting pot of defined snare patterns, intense bass-lines and open structures, a listening experience first and foremost. The standout track for me has to come from Gidge, for me the eloquence and elaboration of their production really added to the tone that I was trying to create with the episode, love the way it compliments the similar styles of artists such as Pariah, Burial and SYNKRO but with an extra touch of Folk! Several of my favourite compilations and some early vinyl mixes (coming to Digital soon) feature 'Space' remixes (such as StoneProof - 'Everything's not you') by the legendary Jon Graham, so the Epic proportions of the track from Quivver has to be another serious contender for me on the fave rave tip on this outing! 01 Phil Gerus - Kissing this and that 02 DJ Koze - I haven't been everywhere.. 03 Andy Stott - Time away 04 B12 - Descension 05 Andy Stott - Industry & Science 06 Anthony Mea - Landscape (Evgeny Midnight dub) 07 Quivver - Takin Over (Reprise) 08 Kraak & Smaak - Future is yours (Adriatic Illusion Rework) 09 Maxxi SoundSystem - In the Woods 10 Lehar - Zephyr 11 Gidge - Huldra 12 Alfred R - Another Move
With a distinctly contemplative and organic theme to the first 6 into a half dozen tracks linked by spacy synths underpinned with latin inspired percussive patterns and the odd punch from a Disco beat, this really is game of 2 halves. I have still tried to shape a gradual build across the set, taking in a fair few styles. In my mind, no one cuts it up quite like Phil Gerus, so a seemingly Cyndi Lauper/Atlantic Conveyor inspired production from him opens the shop up to make headway for a lovely and original piece of Afro production from Yuruba Soul. Loving the open groove of 'Another One' and the almost indie like qualities of the Lane 8 track as the 1st of 2 quality offerings from AnjunaDeep on this outing. After hearing it on the HHA 1st May Real House Radio podcast, the Vince Watson track had to feature, lovely chords and keys and, a groove that is fair infectious! Always good things coming from the Vortex. I guess that based on a recent viewing of InterStellar, that 'Space' was also a bit of an inspiration for this mix. With, to my mind, 'Sueno Latino' influences, I do rate the spacy, melodic and solid production from Lionel Weets on T7. In a more progressive direction, the magnitude of 'The Bridge' will no doubt, become apparent :) ... Kosheen meets Shurikan on a London Label, Way Out West? A continuation of the vocal theme, comes in a nice tightly packaged track from a GU compilation that I had previously overlooked. A diversion into Tech house delivers a 'ChunkyButCheeky' vibe. The electronic pulse that is Detroit,is never far from the top of my InspirationPool and as I recall, '92 was a very good year in the vineyards of Michigan and so, more unashamed homage is paid to the great city and a legendary pair of its producers/remixers, nice to see MarKinchen is still 'Burnin' up on the scene. Finally on the dozen, Some more dreamy, spacy chords with dirty dubby stuff for bins and snappy snares help in 'taking it down', like Idris in Prometheus. Thanks to everyone that follows, plays and downloads, I hope that you enjoy the episode and maybe it takes you on a journey... A mix of blends and looped up seagues of soul from classic 80's electro-boogie through to some current slo-mo style tracks from the likes of Adrien De Valentin and Phil Gerus, digital production is definitely a common theme. Opening into a moody interlude,Piek brighten s it up by some cheeky quirks and tight programming into some lush soulful laid back and subtly twisted funk grooves for the summer, Track 3 dives deep under again with some sultry undertones to the vocal presentation, SP keeping a nice mechanical feel in the tribal flow. T4 takes us back on a more soulful and smoky vocal number, right through into the deserved hat-trick from the excellent remote collaboration between AtJazz and Julian Gomes. With such a fusion of the calibre of these two, coupled with a staggering line-up of vocal heritage and talent on an album and a serendipitous discount at Traxsource, the full purchase seemed inevitable :) Enough said there, enjoy the tripler.. The twisted bluesy transposing keys and stabby but melodic chords in the compuphonic offering real stir up Chicago invocations in me, Bobby D'Ambrosio offers a nicely toughened chunk of a garage vein, GTTR adds some nice of elements of funky disco loopy percussion to build the filters, keeping it floor based. A progressive and almost Jon Tejada like production with a strong vocal theme pulsates through into a nice dubby swinger of a track from Lee Roz and Stu Laurie, with some lovely breakdowns. I see similarities in the euphoric nature of the CASSIMM track to the recent smasher from EDX with a bit of 2-step feeling and so was happy to add this big anthemic number to the tail end of the build on this episode. The inclusion automatic tasty track is one of an occasional delve into electronica, that I felt returned a nice haul that just lulls things down nicely over s tight and springy step, making way for the tailer of another excellent Anjuna Deep release from the LondonSession01 LP. I've enjoyed pulling this together in amongst a fragmented schedule of life, finding solace in the ability to integrate the music that I like in a sequence that feels right.. Hope you enjoy. 01 Piek - Does your love fade away? 02 Kon - On my way (Instrumental Mix) 03 Vanessa Daou - Welcome to my blues (Scrap Processors Mix) 04 Rocco & Khensy - Still Waters (Lars Behrenroth Remix) 05 AtJazz VS Julian Gomes Feat. Opening up with a gentle ease in through some acid tinged soul rework from the mighty FFO, into some sax laden work from Cossta, the mix slowly develops a sound frequently tinged with pads and chords, delineated by some lush break-beat underpinning from Aeroymin. The mix never becomes euphoric but holds fairly constant but measured pressure out of the back of the restrained but punchy urban 'Right Now' track by German Brigante, possibly my fave release on this outing. Sad news that House Music lost another pioneering Forefather earlier this week... Happy 2014 to the Podomatic cyberdisco community! With this first of the year selection, we're going for a fairly tracked groove with the direction. Some brand new freshness from Phil Gerus with 80's tinged synthy soul setting up the build into moody and deep with some jazzy percussive inflections, with the 'Differently', 'Changes' and 'Check' tracks toughening up the layers. Whilst the MoonBoots, Drop Lamond and Matt Mason tracks bring an urban edge to the proceedings. The 2 Chymera tracks piggybacked make for a lush organic wind down in a very much 'northern Exposure' feel. Episode mixed Live on Z1 and Traktor .. 01 Intro - Bernie Strauss - In Zimbabwe 02 Phil Gerus - Love Is Not So Frightening 03 Nice Deepness - Escape (Gastek & L.D.F. Just in time for some festive output for December. With a veritable santa's stocking of chilled grooves, lush soulful keys and synths, we start off with a bit of Burial's latest work, moving through more low-keyness and moodily into an amazing track by Aamon, where the flows gets a more atmospheric and uplifting groove on - Think RoninXChicane:). From here onwards is the gradual ascension through tracks with a heavier floor presence that builds through a bit of party style from 97 to a pinnacle of Piano-Scratch Frenzy from ACIDUKE in first of 3 'Bonus' tracks. I'm particularly loving the spacey soul influences on the Mozaique, 24HSP, and Space Echo releases and the stabby chords on Tube and Berger, not too mention the smoothly vibed 'Early morning Champagne' with Woz treading a tight line close to UKG. After using Pete Bellis' TQ Re-Edit of Gotye, I couldn't resist the rework that he's done on Reflections in a slightly more progresive direction, v. nice. Alveol and Genoveva give us a lush warm finisher, electronica/deep crossover at it's best. Hope this episode helps warm up a vibey xmas and festive period for you all.. 01 - Burial - Hiders 02 - AC - Eleven 03 - Space Echo - Soul People 04 - Aamon - High Tide 05 - Tobi Danton - Mozaique 06 - 24 Hour Sleepy People - Bright Day 07 - 11 Inch Feat. After having diverted my September focus towards collaborative activity in the mixcloud domain, monosonics is back to Podomatic for an October installment of deep, soulful electronic house music.. With a lot of nice releases and some fresh retro styles emerging at the moment, we start off with a tight disco percussive undertone through some punchy yet melodic material into some #Flat&Dirty work from Phil Weeks, into a breaks excursion under sultry vocals on the Irtiqa track. Beyond this, the mix moves through a more techy and progressive groove with some slo-mo vocals into an uplifting and ascending finish through the lovely 'Clear' and the D8M's re-rub of Robin S with the Tim Angrave ambient styling of a Primal Scream classic tailing it off. 1990 style keys and beat programming in the back-end on this episode. 01 - Refresh - Good Times 02 - Yooj and Steve Huerta - Love Me Right 03 - Neighbour and Rob Garza - Calle Del Espiritu Santo (Julio Remix) 04 - Phil weeks - Sharks looking for fishes 05 - Ortega and Tamez - Irtiqa (Lefty Gunz G-Mix) 06 - Datakestra - Smoky City 07 - Axel Boman - Sourz 08 - Benn Fin - Beatiful Instant (Beatamines Remix) 09 - Mia Dora - Clear (DJ T Mix) 10 - Bluford Duck - Shoulder to cry on 11 - DM8 - One New Way 12 - Pete Gooding and Tyrell D - Loaded (Tim Angrave Ambient Chill Mix)

Going for a slightly more dubby, blues influence on this episode with layers of soul in the samples and vocals. Starting off squelchy and paddy with some nice quality Ukraine deep into quite reflective in the moody mode with tracks from Luca D'Arle and David Keno then moving towards the late night floor with a tough and dirty get down groove and swing, through some tribalism that peaks with lush deep pads on 'End of Brooklyn' dubbing back down to a heavy yet elevating closer. Standout for me are the Matt Prehn, Juliet Sikora, Francesco Robustelli, Beckwith and DMEP offerings. Watch out for the 'RIPGroove' sample on T4 and 'LoveleeDae' loops on T8:) 01 - Demarco Electronic Project - Say something02 - Luca D'Arle - Over (SuperLover Mix)03 - David Keno - The Final Curtain04 - Juliet Sikora - In you05 - Matt Prehn - Love you back 06 - Francesco Robustelli - I want to know 07 - Alessio Pagliaroli Feat. Arnold Jarvis - Tonite (Dub)08 - Kraak & Smaak - The future is yours (Prok & Fitch remix)09 - Beckwith - End of Brooklyn10 - James Hunter - A path within11 - Kraak & Smaak - The future is yours (Adriatique illusion rework)
This is for me, a purer more involved selection that embodies a more late night listening experience. Gradually building from an extended downbeat intro through moody, deep and soulful grooves with tight organic bass-lines that twist into more elevating strings and moogy chords. Great tracks from Guti, Second City and my favourite is a tough call between the ascending groove of Leon Vynehall's 'Sister', the dub from SanFran and the very different melodica of Schegg's Night Owl. 01 - Will Saul Presents Close Feat. Joe Dukie - My way (Tanner Ross & Slow Hands remix) 02 - Chasing Kurt - Family guys 03 - Chasing Kurt - Heavenly 04 - Sami Wentz - Nobody knows 05 - Leon Vynehall - Sister 06 - Guti - Hope 07 - Ivalyo - Invisible Solution (Slammer remix) 08 - Mass Digital - Waiting for a new day 09 - Kon Feat. Bosq - Runaway (Night Plane mix) 10 - Kimbu Kimra -Raise the dead (Love from San Francisco dub) 11 - Second City - What love 12 - Schegg - Night Owl 13 - Urban absolutes - Anything 14 - Foxes - Youth (Maze & Masters remix)
Loosely placed, low slung bass-lines under swathes of Chords, layered with tight, punchy snares and defined high hats ..influences from disco, electro,'Jack' and late 80's/early 90's house. T3 and T4 deliver a vocal ilk of the calibre of Owens and Smooth. T5 and T6 are a nod to a bygone era When people learned to make machines sing like people and people learned to sing like machines.. T8 sounds like burial doing Prog House, T9 sounds like the Edge from an early U2 has guested and T11 reminds me of early Chicane. Warning: This production contains occasional swirly electronica melodies, some wobbles and a mild dubby undertone in places! 01 - Rafael Cerato - Somebody Love (Dana Bergquist and Peder G Mix) 02 - Kris Menace Feat. Black Hills - Waiting for you (Fingerpaint Remix) 03 - Frederick Alonso Feat. Kash Jay - My Love (Ben Finn Mix) 04 - The Burrell Brothers - Non stop (Lula Circus Mix) 05 - Beto Cravito - Inherent Vice (Cameo Culture Mix) 06 - Sven Tasnadi - Thank You (Tim Green Mix) 07 - Jakob Faber - way too fast 08 - Embliss - Don't let go 09 - StereoHeaven Productions - Sambado (Chill-House Mix) 10 - Matematica - Stratosphere 11 - Michael Mayer - Good Times (Agoria Sunlune Mix)
An eclectic soundscape with a lot of early 90's retro influences that begins deep, cushioned by warm industrial undertones and tightly produced disco beats with chord play into electronic soul that twists into a slightly tech vibe towards the midway point. Continuing to build through more driving layered tracks towards the more high pressure percussive sound of Tube and Berger.01 Pulshar - Dream when it's wrong02 Salvatore Freda - Love can't hurt (Nebraska '79 Mix)03 Liquid Phonk - Heart and Soul 04 Fred Everything - Brothers and Sisters (PM Atlantic)05 Daniel Ray - Lonely Streets 06 Jimmy and Fred - I see Lights (Karmon Remix) 07 TramHed - Badam08 Dale Howard - Give Me (Leftwing & Kody Mix) 09 Maxxi Sound System - Make or Break10 Solomun - Lucky Star11 Tube and Berger - GreyJoy12 Jupiter Jax - Ain't No Voodoo
The belated and 2nd edition of 'Forged', a distinctively mechanically influenced mix of new releases and some 1Yo and 2Yo archives. Steel is built on percussive layers, starts off deep and involved then moves in a more anthemic direction, still underpinned by cold strings and hard snares before finishing with delayed 808 congas on a New Order tip. Mixed Live, shout out to Mr. Moss: #JasonRealTime. The faves for me are from Jager, Fran Von vie and Kort. Â 01 Adana Twins - Strange (Acid Pauli and NU Mix) 02 Sebas Ramis - La Mina (Juliche Hernandez and Kirill Kirik Mix) 03 Kort - No Fear 04 Jager Ft Sehija - I'm Falling 05 The White Lamp - Make It Good (Hannes Fischer Remix) 06 Bruno Nasty - El Sol 07 Della Zouch - Virgule 08 Sonny Fodera - Putting It Down 09 CloverLeaf - I Luv You 10 Coll Sellini - Essential Love 11 2nd Sequel - Life 12 Fran Von Vie - Wake me up when everything has changed 13 Wndlrs - Deep CLassical Soul 14 Jackmaster K - In Flight
This is 'Coal', and due to the fact that good tunes are #fishinabarrel at the Miami moment, this is part one of a 2 mix series called 'Forged'. This instalment builds gradually from the atmospheric locked groove, through some down-beat disco soul vocals, underpinned by analogue basslines into a more anthemic and uplifting direction towards Track8. Allowance from the legendary Isolee takes on a more minimal but still melodic relaxed reprise, 'No more' lifts it up again until the direction tails off into some lovely electronica/breaks from Jupiter Jax. Look out for the second in the series, 'Steel' which is mixed live and available in the next week .... 01 Locked Groove - Do it anyway02 Sonny Fodera - Just Like03 Marcus Anthony - Bad Timing04 Kruse and Nuernburg Ft. Thanks to some Track-tokens gifted from DeepTransmissions, Here's something put together to mark the end of a big year. We head off in more of a four to the floor direction towards some soulful NYC and garage influenced sounds, via some squelchy chords, wobbly basslines and chunky back-beats ... A slightly belated episode, but hopefully worth the wait.. Heavily influenced by a recent top night @letherette @shacklewellarms - A solid underpinning of dirty and twisted funk influences with some lighter tones shining through. A personal resurgence of the legendary Glasgow Underground, I've been away for some time. Standout keys from Adrian Barron, Tevo Howard and Ron BaseJam. Couldn't resist the P-Funk/'House Party' vibes on T11 'Daft Funk', especially after it was dropped at the office Xmas party last week.. 01 Alton Miller - Stars in your eyes (Automated Soul Chilled Groove Remix) 02 Hot Toddy - Mutha Sucka (Ron Basejam Remix) 03 Romanthony - Bring you up (Toby Tobias Version) 04 Chris James - Kind of heavy (Andre Crom Remix) 05 Kraak and Smaak Feat. Romanthony - Lets go back (Solomun Remix) 06 Luciano Esse - Decide (Fabio Neural Remix) 07 Adrian Barron - All I could say 08 Deep Future - You need it 09 Shadowchild - So high (Hot since '82 Remix) 10 Rene Breitbarth - Phunk 11 Sadam Ant - Daft Funk (Joey Negro's Computer Funk Mix) 12 Tevo Howard - Pump and Bounce (Short Mix)
As the leaves turn golden brown ... Begins on a Disco tip and builds into a deeper tech vibe, giving way to tribal and driving progressive conclusion. Selection drips with dirty synth riffs and b-lines, underpinned by tough swingy grooves, mechanical snares and jazzy fill-ins. Tough and Techy Deep House for the seasons with standout tracks from Miguel Campbell, Chris Sane, Joyce Brooke and Sebastian Davidson, not forgetting Made To Move's ultra tight rehash of the Robin S classic.. 01 Miguel Campbell - Flight School 02 Jorge - Monset (Angel Rize Remix) 03 Miguel Campbell - In Motion 04 Hot Natured Feat. Something a bit different on today's menu ... A chilled yet elevating autumnal journey of textures and soundscapes which blends, fades, edits and drops through Deep House, Underground / Emotive Garage into some lush Chillstep and DnB. Some recent releases but mainly new finds and older classics from the back archive. 01 Gotye Feat. Kimbra - Somebody that I used to know (Pete Bellis Re-Edit) 02 Sydney Charles - Don't Go (Dr Dru Remix) 03 AudioFly Feat. Fiora - 6 Degrees (Tales of Us Remix) 04 Mosca - Bax 05 Gyptian - Hold Yuh (Major Lazer mix) 06 Submerse - Fall in Love 07 The XX - Night Time (Synkro Remix) 08 Eleven8 - Colours of Distance 09 Phaeleh - Falling 10 Cahb - Secrets 11 Spherique - Snowflake Catcher 12 Instra-Mental - Watching You 13 Smote - Summertime 14 D-Bridge - Blush Response 15 Fracx - serenity
.. Slightly tougher than the previous episode with a more soulful yet analogue imprint. Inspiration behind this mix is the memory of the late great Kenny Hawkes ... He would have been all over a lot of the ripe fruit on offer at the moment. Standout fave has to be the 80's ElectroSoul styled corker from System of Survival, not overshadowing 'Song for Her' and 'Flash of Life' Luper, Fabo or Dusky's cheeky garage style mix. Track11 - Jus 4 U Luton. 01 Nadja Lind - Limbus (Paul Lorraine's Absent Mix)02 John Dahlback - Wait for love03 Luca C & Brigante Feat. Roisin Mu - Flash of Light04 System of Survival - Baby don't stop05 Cloud 9 - Do you want me baby (Dusky Remix)06 Solomun - No Comment 07 Sankos - Dope (DeSantaRosa Remix)08 Fabo and HNQO Feat. Ria Moran - Song for her
Starts off moody and atmospheric, moving through synth-disco, dirty tribal, latin and soul influences towards a shiny and uplifting conclusion with elements of a 'Chicane' sound in a lot of the keys, but always deep. The Teenzo opener is a real involver, T7 reminds me of the classic Tyrant sound and Baby Prince delivers an amazing slab of electro to finish. Big shout to Juanfra, a quality Gran Canaria DJ who lays down a solid and slick selection every Friday and Saturday @ NoComments bar in Maspalomas, dropping deep and dope delights into the night... Sin Commentarios. 01 Teenzo Le Mbs - The Day We Meet (Teenzo Le MBS Platinum remix)[BLOOMBEATS] 02 Homkore - True Love [OMNIVORE RECORDS] 03 Twenty Nine Palms - 10 Years (Roland Cortante Mix) [DEEP VIBRATIONS] 04 Just Emma - Just before Dawn EP (Helmut Ebrisch Remix) [UNDER YOUR SKIN GERMANY] 05 Montana Stewart Feat. An amazing chapter in my life has recently come to a close, this is all about that.. A selection that is reminescent of the late 80's and early 90's which ascends from lo-fi, dubby and afrocentric into a bumpy garage influenced style, building toughly through some big chords and 80's influenced vocal into progressive peak at T10. Tails off into T12 with a lush piece of melancholic and atmospheric glitchstep soundscaping by Lake Powel. Fave Tracks are from Fabo, one I missed from the Summer and the fresh sound from Henry Saiz, Shuri-Kan's remix of 'Love can't break you down' and Andy Donoghue's mix of 'Everlasting Love'. 01 LELE X Feat. Guests of Nature - Keep Dreaming (Kojo AKusa remix)[PENG] 02 Karmine Rosciano - We've got some fresh [RELUX UNDERGROUND] 03 Henry Saiz - Our Discovery [NATURA SONORIS] 04 Olav Hentrik - Violeta [DEEP FLIGHT] 05 Kruse & Nuernberg - Love Can't Break you down (Shur-I-Kan 90s Dub mix) [LAZY DAYS] 06 Left Minded - Good Days (Dale Howard mix) [SOMETHING DIFFERENT] 07 Borja Maneje - Del Olmo [PEANUT] 08 Fabo - Where I stand (Karmon mix) [STRANJUR] 09 Mickey K Feat. Starts and ends with lush, richly textured tunes, moves into a more jacky and bumpy, uplifting house vibe. Lots of cut-up vocal samples and dubby disco beat production, 80's keys. Inspired by some recent great times with great people in a great city. My standout faves on this episode come from the mighty Sterling Void, Rudimental, FinneBassen, Alex Sanchez and Atomic Ranch on this episode. 01 Kiano Feat. Jubilations about the calibre of releases at the moment. Large amount of soul and vocal influences on nearly all the tracks all held together with a warm but slightly raw analogue sound, bumping bass-lines abound. Organic Bass riffs. First half builds and bubbles, hitting the straight up disco at Track 5, the mix then heads towards the dancefloor... Standout vox on the Jon Silva, Shatti and Tennis with an Indie crossover offering. Liking Dubstep producer Giom getting on the Deep House production tip. 01 Kornel Kovacs - Down Since '92 (Instrumental Mix) [Studio Barnhaus Recordings] 02 Claes Rosen - Glancing (Adam Byrd Mix) [Silk Textures] 03 D'Flower Feat. Some fresh tracks with some laid back grooves and moody, sultry vocals, contrasting with some complex roland drum patterns and old-skool analogue riffs. Rich layers in T1, Jazzy vibes on T3, Lovely Vox on T2 and T6, Nice Funky/Deep crossover from the legendary Cajmere. Ascending at the peak with yet another great release from Martin Roth on AnjunaDeep, love what he's done with Ultra Nate! 01. Session Victim - Cow Palace [Delusions Of Grandeur] 02. Milscot feat. This episode definitely heads off on a more involved, deeper tip, much more low key than the last episode. Featuring plenty of vocal and Piano elements around the middle of the mix. Most tracks are very recent, but I also wanted to include some older tracks, so 12 - 14 revisit some classics from around 2004. Some new releases from fave labels FreeRange and SoulShift as well as releases from labels that I haven't picked up on before such as Loco and Mare. Standout for me is the chunky number from D'Steph. 01 DJ Octopuz - Jus' Let It Feel (Sunday Flower Mix) [SoulShift] 00:00 02 Angelo DL - The Sound Of The Day [Cafeina] 04:52 03 Costa Giannakopoulos feat Annie Drurie - Hope Is A Dream (Paul Sirrell & Ryan James remix) [Ryan James Music] 10:17 04 Himan - Empty Pocket (Original Mix) [FreeRange] 14:05 05 Salvatore Agrosi Feat. Lots of tracks on this episode that have got me switched on lately, mostly new with a couple of older classics from jaytech and Axus/Rocco, quite a lot of vocal activity with underlying analogue bass-lines and chords. Slowly builds through a warm, sexy organic sound that develops into a tech flow at T8, with some lush sounds on 9 and 10, returning to a warmer deep tech deep house groove that finishes on a really rich layered track by Alveol. Can't pick a fave on this one, although just can't ignore the feel-good factor of 'Essential Love' and 'Japanese Rose'... 01 00:00 Huxley - Let it go (Eats Everything Refuse Mix)[HYPERCOLOUR] 02 06:27 Loverdose - Another Dimension [BELAK RECORDS] 03 10:32 Lou Start - And that's why [FRECHE FRUCTHE RECORDS] 04 15:22 Gavin Herlihy - Endless Feeling (Larse Mix) [CULPRIT] 05 21:38 Matteo Mattini - Around the Harmony [EYE RECORDS] 06 23:22 Kraak and Smak feat Lex.
