MANAGING ASTHMA AND ALLERGIES in children is a daily reality for many families in Alaska. Those who suffer from allergies – whether brought on by pollen or peanuts – know that a reaction is both miserable and also scary – especially for caregivers who are watching their little ones experience a reaction. And the same is true for parents of children with asthma – watching your child gasp for breath is a frightening thing to witness. But caregivers and parents of children with allergies and asthma can experience fear-free and excellent everyday management when they know the facts and are receiving treatment. IN-STUDIO GUESTS: Sarah Gonzales hosts today's program and is joined by Dr. Thad Woodard in the studio to talk about asthma and allergies - How are they diagnosed at the doctor’s office and how are they managed at home? Dr. Woodard both owns and practices at the Alaska Center for Pediatrics in Anchorage. He is a certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, as well as the Allergy and Asthma Foundation of America. He is also the host of the weekly radio program Line One: Your Health Connection on KSKA-FM
