Sometimes a great idea doesn't come from thinking harder — but from shifting your body. Research suggests that posture can influence how creatively and flexibly you think, meaning the position you're in during a brainstorming session could actually affect whether you have that “Eureka!” moment. Listen to how that works as we open this episode. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/27992759 It feels like everyone has allergies these days. But do they really? And what exactly qualifies as an allergy in the first place? Dr. Zachary Rubin, a double board-certified pediatrician and allergist/immunologist in the Chicago area and author of All About Allergies: Everything You Need to Know About Asthma, Food Allergies, Hay Fever, and More (https://amzn.to/401KdW5) explains why allergies appear to be on the rise, why many people think they have allergies but don't, and what's really happening inside your immune system when a true allergic reaction occurs. Have you ever agreed to something you didn't want to do, apologized when it wasn't your fault, or stayed silent when you knew you should speak up? These patterns can feel automatic — almost out of your control. Kati Morton, licensed marriage and family therapist and author of Why Do I Keep Doing This?: Unlearn the Habits Keeping You Stuck and Unhappy (https://amzn.to/3ZDmcV3) explains why these self-sabotaging behaviors form, why they repeat, and how to finally interrupt them. One of the main reasons people exercise is to lose weight. It seems logical: burn more calories, lose more fat. But the science tells a more complicated story. Exercise is incredibly important for health — but when it comes to shedding pounds, its impact may be far smaller than most people believe. https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC3925973/ PLEASE SUPPORT OUR SPONSORS QUINCE: Refresh your wardrobe with Quince! Eczema and Allergies in Kids: Why Reactions Keep HappeningThis week on the Natural Super Kids Podcast, we're continuing our eczema and allergies series with a deeply grounding episode that brings everything we've been discussing into real life.Instead of theory or quick fixes, this conversation walks through three real stories of children with eczema and allergies — each with a very different picture, but a shared theme: symptoms weren't the full story. These families had tried creams, antihistamines, food elimination, and constant management, yet still felt stuck and overwhelmed. We also share how looking beyond symptoms and into gut health, immune regulation, and individual drivers helped shift the picture in meaningful, lasting ways without extreme restriction or fear-based approaches. In this episode, we explore:Why children with eczema and allergies can look completely different on the surface, yet share common patterns of immune dysregulationHow histamine intolerance, gut microbiome imbalance, and reduced immune tolerance can quietly drive ongoing flare-upsWhy removing trigger foods or allergens alone is often not enough and how repeated food elimination can sometimes increase reactivity over timeWhat changes when the question shifts from “What is my child reacting to?” to “Why is their immune system reacting this way?”
Eye washing with preservative-free sterile saline removes pollen from the eye surface, easing itching, tearing, and redness throughout the allergy season People who wash their eyes experience steadier symptom control, more symptom-free days, and better daily comfort compared to those who do not Younger allergy sufferers use eyewash more often than older adults, reflecting higher exposure to digital health guidance and quicker adoption of simple self-care habits Lifestyle factors such as short sleep, smoking, higher stress, and contact lens use increase the likelihood of turning to eyewash for relief Supporting your body with vitamin C, quercetin, whole foods, quality sleep, and stress reduction lowers histamine load and strengthens your defenses against seasonal allergies

Often people experience sneezing and congestion and are unclear of the difference between a cold and hay fever - very common in spring. What is the difference? This time of the year can be confusing especially with a late carry over of winter illnesses. Basically, hay fever is an allergic reaction to pollen, dust or pets. The common cold is an infection caused by a virus most often: rhinovirus. Hay-fever comes on suddenly, lasts for days to weeks, often frequent sneezing, and red itchy watery eyes, itchy throat, nose. No temperature. Common Cold: Comes on gradually over days, last 5 to 10 days, thick yellow nose discharge, mild eye irritation, less sneezing, often temperature and muscle ache. How should you tell the difference? If itch eyes and nose think hay fever. If you feel achy and unwell more likely a cold. Hay fever does tend to occur at certain times of the year – especially spring, or lawn mowing. With a cold often have ben in contact with someone who is sick How do you treat them? Hay fever : It is important to try and avoid irritants : keep windows closed especially on windy days, shower after being outside. We use anti-histamines (stops itch, sneezing), often eye drops(stops watery eyes) and nasal spray(stops nasal congestion). Common Cold: Antibiotics do not help – it's a virus. Stay at home - don't spread. Paracetamol or ibuprofen for aches and temperature. Nasal spray decongestants for nose Throat lozenges for sore throat. Usually, will improve over a week. To calm flight nerves, she reached for the tranquil embrace of @neomwellbeing Calming Pen, the protective cocoon of @subtleenergies Aura Protection Body Mist, and the bohemian spirit of @thameenfragrance Bohemian Infusion, woven through her scarf like a fragrant talisman. The hotel's air shimmered with the signature scent of @annesemoninfrance - luxurious, luminous, and lingering in every soap and lotion, a memory Nicola carried home & treasures.Back in London, she delighted in the luminous @diptyque & @susannekaufmann_ scented lip oil collaboration, and the witty, fresh @akt_ldn Hay Fever deodorant balm, inspired by Noël Coward's iconic play. While Nicola wafted abroad, Suzy uncovered new treasures here: she was enchanted by @4160tuesdays Vianne's Confession, a story in scent: sea salt and cacao, incense and tomato leaf, rose and rain-dappled cobblestones; crafted with Joanne Harris for her latest novel. Both Suzy & Nicola swooned in the stunning @cologneandcotton's Marylebone boutique, celebrating the relaunch of their own fragrances (both fell for Arbela: a sparkling, sunlit blend of petitgrain, sweet orange, and lemon.)Suzy's fragrant adventures continued at a @nissaba.fragrances Masterclass @jovoymayfair with Sébastien Tissot. Her faves: Provence sang of lavender fields and aromatic herbs, Berbera smouldered with ancient incense and myrrh, while Grande Ile enveloped her in a spiced vanilla embrace, rich with Madagascar's precious ingredients. Finally, Suzy donned green to match the bottle for the launch of @ormondejayne Vetiveria: a dreamy Sicilian lime and Timur pepper fizz atop a heart of snowbell and lavender, rooted in vetiver, moss, and creamy tonka.
