When Las Vegas Valley artesian springs ran dry decades ago, several species disappeared from the landscape. Rewilding projects at the Springs Preserve have helped rebuild the native habitat and protect endangered species like the Pahrump Poolfish, Relict Leopard Frog and Desert Tortoise. Dr. Ray Saumure, SNWA Senior Environmental Biologist, talks about the challenges of repopulating endangered species and how the discovery that the tiny frogs are cannibalistic may help ensure a sustainable population.Hosts: Bronson Mack and Crystal Zuelkehttps://www.snwa.com/

By Elliot Witscher with Emily Stone In the bright sunlight and heat of the afternoon, the cool, fresh, flowing water from a pipe in Prentice Park in Ashland, WI, was a welcome treat. I wasn't expecting to find a unique geological feature in an unassuming city park. But walking down the hill from the parking lot, we found a plain metal pipe, surrounded by gravel, with water gushing from it. Standing in a circle with the 20 other people also taking the Wisconsin Master Naturalist Volunteer Training, I learned from Professor Tom Fitz that this was a flowing artesian well.
Las Vegas owes its very existence to groundwater. Native peoples relied on natural springs that bubbled to the surface; early settlers farmed using water from the springs and groundwater aquifer; and Las Vegas became a townsite because the railroad needed a stop where it could refill its steam locomotive water tanks. The Las Vegas Springs stopped flowing in 1962, but Southern Nevada still relies on the groundwater aquifer for 10 percent of its water supply. Learn more about groundwater and how the Southern Nevada Water Authority helps protect the aquifer on the Water Smarts Podcast, “WHAT LIES BENEATH: Southern Nevada groundwater is a hidden resource for the community.”Hosts: Bronson Mack and Crystal Zuelkehttps://www.snwa.com/https://www.snwa.com/
Simone has come a long way since his Italian childhood in Como: while part of a legendary double-act with Alex Kratena, he led London's Artesian Bar to an unprecedented four #1 listings in World's 50 Best Bars. Simone's post-Artesian career is even more impressive: Sips, his Barcelona bar together with business partner Marc Alvarez, was crowned #1 in 2023, he bought the revered classic Barcelona bar Boadas, the spirits brands he has co-founded, Canaima Gin, Amaro Santoni and MUYU liqueurs, go from strength to strength, and the online training portal he created, The Art of Shaking, reaches thousands of aspiring bartenders daily, teaching them techniques and mentalities that simply can't be communicated in noisy bar shows. We sat down in Sips while it was being renovated - Simone's hands were coated with silicone residue and dried paint - and chatted about the before, the now and the future. Enjoy! The Queen City Improvement Bureau was "live" on stage at the Artesian on 13th for the Cathedral Village Arts Festival. We played "Name That City Councillor" with Leader Post reporter Larissa Kurz, performed a classic Queen City Tender Moment, and read from the upcoming erotic novel "Pounded By Duplexes: How I Went From NIMBY To YIMBY". Plus, a Q&A session with our audience. Thanks to Neil Adams from CJTR for recording the show for us and to Dana and the crew at Artesian for all their technical support. Huge thanks also to everyone who came out. We could not have hoped for a smarter or more supportive crowd. You guys are great! Music by Ryan Hill (aka Guidewire). Broadcast on 91.3FM CJTR.
Carbon capture and storage will be banned in the Queensland part of the Great Artesian Basin, but will other state, territory and federal governments share the Premier's view that the environmental, agricultural, economic and cultural significance of the GAB is "worth protecting?"
The plan to store carbon dioxide from a power plant in Australia's largest underground water reservoir has united farmers and environmentalists, divided conservatives, and made its way to the federal court. But Glencore's big pitch to use carbon capture storage to reduce emissions has failed to convince the Queensland Government.
Council accidentally passed a 40km/h speed limit for Cathedral. What's up with Councillor Nelson's point of order against Councillor Hawkins. Plus! We have a live show coming up May 22 at the Artesian during the Cathedral Village Arts Festival. Music by Ryan Hill (aka Guidewire). Originally broadcast on 91.3FM CJTR.

Thank you! From my earliest childhood my mother prayed with me. Then taught me how to pray. I listened as she prayed and learned how to talk to God. She taught me to know Him and realize that He is a real Person. It was prayer that I learned first before I could read, and Jesus became my very life. The breath of life given to me has returned back to Him through numerous decades of prayer. I am always looking heavenwards. It was said of Samuel Rutherford the Puritan that whenever he was seen walking through town he was always looking up. He was a powerful, loving, humble praying man. It was said about Jesus that "He arose a great while before day and went out into a solitary place and there prayed." Mark 1:35. We know that His life was a full life of prayer from start to finish. Many battles of the centuries past were fought and won through prayer. Lives were forever changed by prayer. Prayers prayed from the heart to God become eternal in the heavens. The greatest thing you will ever do in this life is pray to God in secret. And really to pray without ceasing as Jesus taught us. That is where you will truly meet the Lord, and will always have His ear and heart. He will answer you in His style and way. He will make an artesian spring of water open up within your soul as you go on praying. Making your prayers sweet and full of life as an offerings to Him. "God's command to "pray without ceasing" is founded on the necessity we have of His grace to preserve the life of God in the soul, which can no more subsist one moment without it, than the body can without air." ~ John Wesley --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/joanie-stahl/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/joanie-stahl/support

Today, the reimagined and rebuilt Artesian Hotel, Casino and Spa took that original vision and grew it into southern Oklahoma's foremost destination for pampering, dining, gaming and indulgent relaxation. Sulphur is tucked in the rolling prairie of cross-timber country and is known as the gateway to the Chickasaw National Recreation Area. News story from KOCO. In this episode, I speak with Ananya Sinha, the founder of Brown Baddies, an NFT project focused on elevating South Asian women. Ananya was born in New Zealand, grew up in Australia, and is now telling the stories of South Asian women all over the world via NFTs. Ananya is relatively new to web3, but has been an entrepreneur since her uni days at the University of New South Wales in Sydney. Ananya spent her pandemic years working as a consultant at Publicis Sapient, and in March, she turned investor with Artesian. Brown Baddies has been Ananya's side hustle NFT project since the beginning of 2022. I actually found out about them through an Instagram post, and as a South Asian woman, I was thrilled to finally see an NFT project that I could relate to. I couldn't help but reach out to Ananya to have her on the the Green Room podcast. Brown Baddies isn't just minting NFTs - proceeds are going to important iniatives like supporing NGOs working to combat gender-based violence in South Asia and creating a global directory of South Asian women-owned businesses. You can learn more about them by visting brownbaddies.xyz and following @BrownBaddiesNFT on Twitter.

Hosted by Simone Roach Artesian Builds makes customized computers, with a focus on products for gamers and streamers on platforms such as YouTube and Twitch. Like many companies, Artesian uses brand ambassadors to help promote its products. As part of its ambassador program, Artesian offered participants opportunities to earn credits toward future purchases and chances to win computers during monthly sweepstakes. Although it's not clear what rules governed the sweepstakes, CEO Noah Katz apparently decided to change them during a live-streamed event on March 1, 2022. After selecting a winner, Katz publicly discarded her entry because she didn't have as many followers as he would have liked. He then proceeded to disqualify other randomly-selected entrants who didn't have “redeeming qualities.” Blog Post - https://www.adlawaccess.com/2022/03/articles/sweepstakes-goes-wrong-company-shuts-down/ Contact: Gonzalo E. The recent Artesian Builds drama is a huge overreaction and just another case of overblown claims and turning something minor into a major offense. This is what cancel culture has become, the normal response to the most minor offenses is to completely destroy the person or company. Basically, there was an Artesian Builds PC giveaway that turned sour because the rules allowed anyone to be an "ambassador" simply by placing an image in their profile. When the CEO - Noah Katz saw the winners (in particular streamer kiapiaa) channel, size, and zero clicks, he concluded they weren't an ambassador. Reforge Radio is a channel where we cover Life. We'll have in-depth discussions about culture, news, current events, faith, and, everything in-between. We don't lean to one side or the other. We don't judge. We just talk about things in hopes of a better understanding and acceptance of people and what makes them who they are. #ArtesianBuilds #kiapiaa #CancelCulture DISCORD - https://discord.gg/reforgetv RAGELESS ROAST - https://ragelessroast.com --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/reforgeradio/support
