My guest is Dr. Mary-Frances O'Connor, PhD, Professor of Clinical Psychology and Psychiatry at the University of Arizona and a world expert on the science of grief and loss. We discuss what happens in the brain and body when we grieve, the role of dopamine and yearning in the grieving process, the health risks of getting stuck at particular stages of grief and how to move through loss while also deeply honoring the person, animal or thing that is no longer with us. Dr. O'Connor explains that grief involves cycling back and forth between protest and despair (often guilt and anger too) and explains science-supported ways to move through that process in the healthiest possible way. Everyone experiences grief and loss at some point. Dr. O'Connor provides valuable knowledge and tools to help you navigate grief under any circumstance. This is probably one of the biggest struggles tall women face: finding jeans. And not just any pair of jeans, but jeans that are flattering AND long enough. If you just had flashbacks or cringed or agreed or had any type of reaction to what I just said, I'm sure you understand the struggle. It's not uncommon for a tall woman to walk into a store, bright and eager to buy a pair of jeans, pick a few of them off the rack, try them on, and they fit like capris. Oh dear, I'm having some bad memories right now. And online, it's even worse because you can't try them on. It's easy to get excited when you see “tall sections”, purchase a pair of jeans from there, get them in the mail, only to try them on and find out they're a 32-inch inseam. How is that considered tall??Honestly, who knows, but why is this jean struggle so bad for tall women? And how does this affect our relationship with jeans, clothes, and fashion overall? I answer that and more in today's episode, so tune in! Is the Jake Tapper “apology tour” really about apologizing or is it a last-ditch effort to save face after years of ignoring what conservative media had long reported? Buck Sexton is joined by Ashley Brasfield of The Daily Caller and Right Side Broadcasting Network to break down Tapper’s sudden about-face on President Biden’s mental and physical condition. From the conveniently timed cancer diagnosis to the media’s years-long coverup, Ashley and Buck dig into the motives behind the mainstream media’s spin, the Bidens’ deep entanglements, and the explosive reporting being ignored by the left.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Prime Minister's Questions today, and there was lots on the agenda. It is often a fool's game to guess what the leader of the opposition will lead on, but today she had a wide choice of ammunition – from unemployment to welfare to the government's new stance on migration to the war in Gaza. Kemi Badenoch looked assured when holding Keir Starmer to account on the Chancellor's ‘jobs tax' and on funding for children's hospices. But can we attribute her performance to growing confidence in the role – or is the news just getting worse for Keir Starmer? There were a couple of notable moments from the Prime Minister, including an attack on Reform and his response to Liz Saville-Roberts, leader of Plaid Cymru, when she ‘called him out' on his use of the phrase ‘island of strangers' earlier this week. Keir Starmer appeared tetchy – is he taking a leaf out of Rishi Sunak's book? Lucy Dunn speaks to James Heale and Isabel Hardman. Produced by Oscar Edmondson.

President Donald Trump met with President Nayib Bukele of El Salvador in the Oval Office Monday. Their conversation centered on immigration, and specifically the wrongful deportation of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a Salvadoran man whose removal the White House chalked up to an “administrative error.” Last week, the Supreme Court ordered the administration to “facilitate” Abrego Garcia's return to the U.S. But Bukele told reporters Monday he won't send him back, and Trump said no one can make him do it. Aaron Reichlin-Melnick, senior fellow at the American Immigration Council, talks about Trump's expanding immigration crackdown. And in headlines: Harvard University rebuffed the White House's list of policy demands to protect billions in federal funding, Trump again threatened CBS' '60 Minutes,' and a man accused of setting fire to the Pennsylvania Governor's Mansion was charged with attempted homicide and terrorism.Show Notes:Subscribe to the What A Day Newsletter – https://tinyurl.com/3kk4nyz8What A Day – YouTube – https://www.youtube.com/@whatadaypodcastFollow us on Instagram – https://www.instagram.com/crookedmedia/For a transcript of this episode, please visit crooked.com/whataday

Allergies have been documented in historical records dating as far back as 2,400 years ago, when Hippocrates wrote about “hostile humors” in some people who suffered badly after eating cheese. But why do we experience them to begin with? What even is an allergy? Are allergies on the rise? And why are some mere nuisances, while others are deadly? This episode is a roundup of allergy stories—from the mundane to the frightful—and a round up of allergy questions we're asking Dr. Theresa MacPhail, author of Allergic: Our Irritated Bodies in a Changing World, to answer for us.Featuring Beni Osei Duker, Theresa MacPhail, Dwayne Smith, and Lily Ko.Produced by Felix Poon.
