Above and Beyond God has gone above and beyond by going low. God became one of us (Incarnation), died for us (Atonement), rose for us (Resurrection), reigns for us (Intercession), and put His Spirit in us (Indwelling). God is the first and greatest giver. Generosity is a response, not an initiation. God calls us to go above and beyond. Mission: to help people follow Jesus. Vision: to see God do immeasurably more in and through you. Generosity is an act of faith that moves us beyond theory to trust. Generosity goes above and beyond yourself. 5G Strategy: Gatherings, Growth, Generations, Good Works, Global Discipleship Generosity is participation in transformation.

You are not beyond God's reach."But He needed to go through Samaria." Jn 4:4 NKJVThe Bible says that Jesus "left Judea and departed again to Galilee. But He needed to go through Samaria" (vv. 3-4 NKJV). In case you may not be aware of it, Samaria was not on the way to Galilee. Actually, it was miles out of the way. Yet, the Bible says Jesus "needed to go." Think about it: It was a long journey, and He was on foot. It was hot. As a Jew, He wouldn't be welcomed there because of a long-standing animosity between Jews and Samaritans. As for the woman at the well that He went to meet, women in that culture were forbidden to talk to men outside of their own family. Furthermore, this woman was the talk of the town because she had been through five divorces. So, why did Jesus feel like He "needed to go"? Because He saw this woman as a diamond in the rough. While those around her talked about her past and her problems, Jesus saw her potential for His kingdom. "Many of the Samaritans... believed in Him because of the word of the woman who testified" (v. 39 NKJV). To reach Galilee on God's schedule, Jesus had to throw man's schedule out the window. But the schedule didn't control Him. What did? The will of God and the unmet needs of hurting people. And He was willing to go out of His way, turn tradition on its head, and break new ground in order to do it. How about you? Can God interrupt your plans? If He can, then He can use you. Even the deepest regrets and darkest pasts are no match for the boundless grace of Jesus, who offers forgiveness and renewal to anyone who approaches Him with a humble heart.
All of us know someone we might consider to be "beyond God's reach." It's the family member who obstinately REFUSES to have anything to do with "organized religion" and who claims to be more "enlightened" than the rest of the family. It's the co-worker who grew up in church but is the first one to name the hypocrisy and politicization of church as a reason to "stay clear." Is it possible to be too far gone for God's compassion and mercy? Can any of us get to a point where it's no longer possible to hear God's voice? In this message, Max Vanderpool walks us through Joshua 2 - and the story of Rahab and how faith and fear are common reactions to when God is at work.

(6:11-13, 7:10-12, 17-23a)II. Even though humans are sinful, God establishes a relationship by grace through faith. (6:9-10, 14-21, 7:1-4, 23b-24)III. The right response to God's grace is obedience.
