Free agency has slowed down quite a bit. It's tough for me to believe things were just getting underway last Monday. It doesn't feel like a week to me. It feels like that was months ago. The Jets have made numerous additions over the last week in building their 2019 roster. In one of the last moves to take place before things grind to a halt, the Jets brought back their old kicker on Friday. Chandler Catanzaro will return to the team after a year ago. He parlayed a nice 2017 season with the Jets into a big contract with Tampa Bay. That didn't work out as he was cut in November and caught on with the Panthers briefly. Now the Jets got him back and had to cope with a Pro Bowl season from Jason Myers as they waited for Catanzaro to return. On today's podcast we talk about Catanzaro and other assorted free agency thoughts. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

The Buccaneers signed 3 players to kick off free agency and it seems many Bucs fans are say "who?". Defensive Tackles Beau Allen and Mitch Unrein and kicker Chandler Catanzaro are the signed players but some big fish are still available like Ndamukong Suh and Tyrann Mathieu although not likely to sign in Tampa Bay. Rick Stroud breaks it all down including Ravens center Ryan Jensen who will visit One Buc Place on Thursday. Plus Rays opening day is 2 weeks away and the roster is starting to take shape and the Lightning have an intense practice to get back to playing better defense. The Arizona Cardinals were officially eliminated from playoff contention on Sunday when they los 48-41 to the New Orleans Saints. Sad day. But there was a lot of news about the Cardinals to talk about. Hosts Jess Root and Seth Cox get into it about the Pro Bowl announcements and which Cardinals are in and out. They talk about the biggest snubs and how in the world Marcus Cooper could be a Pro Bowl alternate. There is talk about Michael Floyd and his arrest and release, but a big story has been about Larry Fitzgerald's future and whether he will return or retire, or whether he will want to play for another team. They talk about what is in store in the offseason for both Justin Bethel and Chandler Catanzaro after they both again had critical mistakes in their loss to the Saints. Finally, they delved into the notion of playing younger players and what to expect against the Seattle Seahawks.
WR Josh Huff returned a kickoff 98 yards for a touchdown, QB Carson Wentz outplayed QB Sam Bradford and the Philadelphia Eagles beat Minnesota 21-10 on Sunday, handing the Vikings their first loss of the season. Don't let your children grow up to be kickers. Just don't. The overtime period of Sunday night's matchup between the Cardinals and Seahawks will live on in infamy for fans of both teams. The game will also endure as a career-low moment for two men who play the same position. First up was Chandler Catanzaro. The Cardinals kicker lined up for a 19-yard chip shot with less than four minutes to play in OT. The attempt was the equivalent of the old-school extra point. So confident were the Cardinals in the distance that they didn't even sweat the five-yard delay of game penalty. Even with the foul, the attempt remained firmly in Super Gimme territory. And then Catanzaro yoinked it. What Catanzaro couldn't have known at this, his lowest moment, was that he would not suffer alone on this night. The Seahawks took over and marched down the field, highlighted by Doug Baldwin's catch-and-run that nearly went to the house. Now it was Seattle in chip-shot range and Stephen Hauschka being called upon to make the presumed official. A 28-yard attempt, this one far shorter than the current PAT. Hauschka has had his problems at University of Phoenix Stadium, but he couldn't ... could he? Oh, he could. Yoink. New England Patriots 27, Pittsburgh Steelers 16 1. Business as usual from Tom Brady. The stats won't show it (222 yards, two TDs), but the Patriots quarterback dominated and outsmarted the Steelers' defense, especially in the second half. Encountering little to no pressure from the front four, Brady opted often for sure routes from receivers in the flat until Rob Gronkowski found room to run late in the second half. Through three games, Brady has yet to throw an interception since returning from suspension and has shown no hint of a decline. 2. Brady didn't lead New England all by his lonesome; LeGarrette Blount happily carried the load. The former Steelers running back returned to the team that once cut him and outperformed his rival back, Le'Veon Bell. Blount continued a career year with his third 100-plus rushing yard game of 2016 and scored two touchdowns at the goal line. Blount now has more touchdowns through seven weeks (8) than he's had in any season in his career. Chris Johnson' s Spectacular Run Play Leads Cardinals To Victory! Week 7 2015 MNF NFL Network News NFLNetwork News - A rejuvenated Chris Johnson provided a pair of game-changing plays, rushing for 122 yards and a touchdown to lead the Arizona Cardinals to a 26-18 victory over the Baltimore Ravens on Monday night. Here's what you need to know: 1. Arizona safety Tony Jefferson intercepted Joe Flacco in the end zone with less than 10 seconds remaining, ending the Ravens' chances of sending the game to overtime with a potential touchdown and two-point conversion. The Cardinals never should have been in that position, but Chandler Catanzaro shanked an extra point, Carson Palmer took an ill-timed intentional-grounding penalty, Andre Ellington failed to stay inbounds to kill the clock on a key first down and the typically ultra-aggressive Bruce Arians forgot his guts with a few questionable play calls late in the game. They can thank Jefferson and Patrick Peterson for making clutch plays that kept Baltimore out of the end zone as the clock ticked down. The Arizona Cardinals lost their third preseason game to the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday Night Football. They also made their first roster cuts, trimming the roster to the required 75 players. Among the cuts were quarterback Ryan Lindley and kicker Jay Feely, who was beat out for the kicking position by undrafted rookie Chandler Catanzaro. Jess and Seth talk about the takeaways from the game and comment on the cuts that were made. Were there any surprises? How are the position battles shaping up as the team heads into their final preseason contest?
The Arizona Cardinals finally played some real football, netting a 32-0 shutout win over the Houston Texans on Saturday at Univeristy of Phoenix Stadium. The offense played well, the defense stifled the Texans and kicker Chandler Catanzaro made all his kicks. Logan Thomas looked like a potential franchise QB and the receiving corps, playing without Michael Floyd and Ted Ginn, looked great. Jess and Seth review the game, give some overreactions and talk about who stood out, who needs to step up and also concerns moving forward as the Cardinals play on the road in Minnesota this weekend.
