Episode 085 kicks off with the return of STS9's ALANA ROCKLIN! The beloved bassist delivered one of this program's most popular conversations [#66, Spring 2023]; Rocklin was kind enough to come back for another round, a shorter interview recorded mid-Feb.2025 aboard Jam Cruise 21. We linked up on my cabin balcony for a discussion that covered the band's long-awaited return to The Boat (and Alana's maiden voyage!), new Sector 9 compositions and their forthcoming LP, curating intentional setlists and introducing material in the live element, the post-pandemic current touring model, live music bringing people together in tough times, and more! 0:00 - ep.085 preview 3:30 - sponsor - OM Festival 5:30 - The Upful Update 10:30 - introducing ALANA ROCKLIN 14:30 - interview w/Alana [33 min] 47:30 - afterglow > CORNFLOWER spot 52:10 - introducing ASHER FULERO 56:10 - interview w/ Asher [62 min] 1:57:45 - sign-off, ViBE Junkie Jamz Alana's chat is chased with a lengthier convo featuring Portland, OR's virtuosic keyboardist/producer/composer ASHER FULERO. We unpack his phenomenal 2024 solo LP 'Worlds', a hybrid organic-electronic affair that remains among my faves last calendar year. Fulero details a journey through the creative process and industry opportunities, how this particular project was wrought with false starts and new lessons/understandings; plus recording/releasing original music in the ever-confounding streaming/social media era of sound-art and consumerism. In addition to Asher Fuler Band and experimental trio Threedom, the artist transparently reflects on experiences working with Emancipator Ensemble, Everyone Orchestra, Liberation Movement, Yonder Mountain String Band, Jon Fishman, and more. The Seattle Seahawks secured a 23-20 victory over the New England Patriots, pushing them to the top of the NFC West. This week, we get into the key moments that defined the game, breaking down Geno Smith's exceptional day and the defensive plays that turned the tide in the Seahawks' favor. Geno put on a show, completing 33 of 44 passes for 327 yards and a touchdown, and receivers DK Metcalf and Jaxon Smith-Njigba also had strong performances and DK's 56-yard touchdown standing out as one of the game's biggest highlights. Ryan Grubb's scheme opened up opportunities for JSN throughout the game, which helped offset a lack of a dominant running game. We discuss whether or not this was a one-time thing, or if we're starting to trend toward a full-on passing offense when Ken Walker isn't in the backfield. Defensively, the Seahawks racked up 21 total pressures and three sacks. Boye Mafe, Leonard Williams and Byron Murphy were disrupting the Patriots' offense, while Julian Love's key block of a field goal attempt and his work in run support helped the Seahawks stay in the game. Special teams also came up big, with Jason Myers knocking through three crucial field goals and Dee Williams delivering a strong punt return. The Miami Dolphins are up next. Can Skylar Thompson take over for Tua and be the backup quarterback that ends up delivering the type of performance that Seahawks fans dread? It's going to be another big test for the Seahawks to stop De'Von Achane who could be catching a lot of short passes out of the backfield. In the second half of the show, we celebrate the Seahawks atop the division with the 49ers falling to the Minnesota Vikings and the Rams falling to the cellar in the NFC West. We shout out some of the flockers we ran into during our trip to Boston, and get a shoutout from a gathering in Sweden. We fight narratives in the football world and in space in the Do Better segment. A TikTok star, YouTube and the NFL all share the stage in this week's Better at Life. We're disappointed after Sunday's match up, but mostly just dealing with rough audio as we are recording away from the studio. Our Hawks lost K9 and Geno and tried to get too tricky. Do the Seahawks really get more penalty calls than other teams? Charbonnet was the bright spot and we're trying not to think about Jason Myers. Plus, a quick look at the upcoming 49ers game. Go Hawks!!
Mike Holmgren joins Dave Softy Mahler to talk about the Seahawks loss last weekend to the Rams in Los Angeles, the frustrating last few plays of the game, the weight of the loss on Jason Myers' shoulders, and facing the San Francisco 49ers on Thanksgiving.
Bob and Dave have their weekly conversation with Jon Morosi to bring you the latest on all the biggest free agents around the MLB, including Shohei Ohtani and Yoshinobu Yamamoto, they are joined by Seahawks Tight End Brady Russell to discuss how they plan to bounce back after a loss during a short week and what he has learned in his first year in the NFL, and they hear what Jason Myers, Geno Smith, and Bobby Wagner had to say after the loss to the Rams in Sweeping the Dial.
Head Coach of the Seattle Seahawks Pete Carroll sits down with the voice of the Seahawks Steve Raible to discuss the dramatic win against the Washington Commanders, plus, some major milestones for Bobby Wagner and Jason Myers.
Bob and Dave listen to what Pete Carroll had to say at the podium following the Seahawks win over the Commanders, they look at some of the worst elements from the Seahawks game, including Geno in the first half and the defense in the final drives, and they hear what Jason Myers, Bobby Wagner, and Jamal Adams had to say about the game in sweeping the dial.
Welcome to the "Transactional Tidbits: Adds, Drops & Diagnostics" Show hosted by Schuyler Malak!
Bump and Stacy break down what the saw from Geno Smith in the Seahawks last second win over the Commanders, they celebrate Boye Mafe’s Sack Record and Leonard Williams’ first sack in Seattle, and they shine the spotlight on Jason Myers following his game winning field goal.
The Seahawks win a thrilling home contest as they get 5 Jason Myers field goals, including the buzzer-beater, to beat the Washington Commanders 29-26 at Lumen Field in Seattle on Sunday. The offense rolled up nearly 500 yards including 369 in the air from Geno Smith and yet.... there were fans who wanted him benched at halftime. In my LIVE reaction show I'll address Geno's performance, and that of the rest of the team, as they get closer to the toughest part of their upcoming schedule. But for now at least, the Seahawks improve to 6-3 to remain tied for first place in the NFC West with the San Francisco 49ers. Is that enough to allow fans to rest easy that the team is poised for a playoff run? In this episode I take questions and comments from live viewers and respond to them on air. Daniel Jones is NOT good at Football With all the points the Seattle Seahawks were scoring this season, it was easy to overlook their defense. They were excellent against the run but the pass defense was horrible. A new Legion of Boom appeared on Monday night and wreaked havoc on Daniel Jones and the New York Giants. Rookie cornerback Devon Witherspoon scored on a 97-yard interception return late in the third quarter and the Seahawks tied a team record with 11 sacks in a 24-3 victory over the struggling and offensively inept Giants. “We're just getting going,” Seattle coach Pete Carroll said. “We're just putting it together. A night like this for our defense to play that explosively. I can't remember seeking double digit sacks.” Geno Smith threw a 6-yard touchdown pass to DK Metcalf late in the first quarter after a strip-sack by defensive end Mario Edwards Jr. set up a short drive and Kenneth Walker III scored on a 1-yard run just before halftime as the Seahawks (3-1) won their third straight. A fourth-quarter interception by Quandre Diggs set up a field goal by Jason Myers as the Seattle improve to 6-0 at MetLife Stadium, including the franchise's only Super Bowl win, a 43-8 decision over Denver in 2014. Besides the sacks, Seattle held New York, which played without star running back Saquon Barkley (ankle) for the second straight game, to 248 yards in total offense, 6 of 16 on third down and forced two turnovers. Bobby Wagner, Jordyn Brooks, Witherspoon and Uchenna Nwosu each had two sacks. “I think we needed it. Easy game defensively,” said Wagner, who also had 17 tackles. “We've been getting better. We've done a good job stopping the run but the thing was applying pressure. The last game we had a lot of pressures but not as many sacks. I think this game we turned those pressures into sacks.” Graham Gano kicked a 55-yard field goal for the Giants (1-3), who have played one good half in four games this season and have looked nothing like the team that made the playoffs last year for the first time since 2016. via @espn Social: Twitch-http://twitch.tv/GmiasWorld Facebook-http://www.facebook.com/GmiasWorld Twitter-https://www.twitter.com/GmiasWorld Donate:https://streamlabs.com/gmiasworld Instagram-https://www.instagram.com/GmiasWorld GmiasWorld Merch: https://gmiasworld.myspreadshop.com Background Music (Exclusive) by @ZaneAlexanderNC #nfl #gmiasworld

The Seattle Seahawks beat the Carolina Panthers 37-27 at Lumen Field in Seattle Sunday. And while it wasn't always pretty, there were plenty of things to like about the performance of this young team. My 5 takeaways plus some honorable mention highlight the positives to come out of this week 3 matchup as the Seahawks improve to 2-1 on the season. **Devon Witherspoon is legit!! **How's that rebuilt defensive front looking? **The run game shows up in a big way! (2-headed monster incoming?!) And much more on Jason Myers, the offensive line, and just how well Geno Smith is playing through 3 games. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/seahawksforever-danviens/message

Kenneth Walker III rushed for 97 yards and two second-half touchdowns, Jason Myers kicked four field goals, and the Seattle Seahawks pulled away in the second half for a 37-27 win over the Carolina Panthers on Sunday. Walker was a star on a day things didn't come easily for Seattle's offense for the first three quarters. But Walker produced big plays both on the ground and in the pass game. Walker's 36-yard reception midway through the third quarter set up his 1-yard touchdown run after Seattle had settled for field goals every other time it reached Carolina's side of the field. Walker later restored a two-score lead for Seattle (2-1) when he sprinted untouched on a 7-yard touchdown run with 11:40 remaining. Myers connected on field goals of 43, 35, 33 and 37 yards a week after starting the season just 3 of 6 on field-goal attempts through two games. Seattle quarterback Geno Smith threw his first interception of the season, but still had a solid day in throwing for 291 yards and a 5-yard touchdown pass to undrafted rookie Jake Bobo with 4:17 left. DK Metcalf had six catches for 112 yards. Veteran Andy Dalton started in place of No. 1 overall pick Bryce Young, who missed the game with an ankle injury suffered last Monday in Carolina's loss to New Orleans. Dalton did his part in keeping the Panthers (0-3) close, throwing for 361 yards, including a 47-yard touchdown to DJ Chark Jr. in the first half and a 15-yard TD to Adam Thielen with 1:40 left. Thielen had 11 catches for 145 yards. Carolina led 13-9 only to see Seattle score the next 13 points. The Panthers pulled within 22-20 on Miles Sanders' 1-yard TD run on the first play of the fourth quarter but would get no closer. It was Carolina's 53rd consecutive loss when trailing in the fourth quarter. Kenneth Walker III rushed for 97 yards and two second-half touchdowns, Jason Myers kicked four field goals, and the Seattle Seahawks pulled away in the second half for a 37-27 win over the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.Walker was a star on a day things didn't come easily for Seattle's offense for the first three quarters. But Walker produced big plays both on the ground and in the pass game. Walker's 36-yard reception midway through the third quarter set up his 1-yard touchdown run after Seattle had settled for field goals every other time it reached Carolina's side of the field.Walker later restored a two-score lead for Seattle (2-1) when he sprinted untouched on a 7-yard touchdown run with 11:40 remaining.Myers connected on field goals of 43, 35, 33 and 37 yards a week after starting the season just 3 of 6 on field-goal attempts through two games.Seattle quarterback Geno Smith threw his first interception of the season, but still had a solid day in throwing for 291 yards and a 5-yard touchdown pass to undrafted rookie Jake Bobo with 4:17 left. I kept seeing the cover everywhere. On Facebook, Instagram, on Facebook again. The cover grabbed me. The obvious suspense/thriller feel got me, too. However, I missed one obvious thing until I was chatting with Tracie Peterson one day--it was written by Kimberley Woodhouse. *insert scratched record here* Call me brain frozen, but I didn't know she wrote suspense! But she did--she started off in suspense, and I like to say she's returned to her roots with her latest release, 26 Below. Listen in to see how this happened! Note: links may be affiliate links that provide me with a small commission at no extra expense to you! What Makes Me Think a Cyber Attack Sounds Like a Good Read? Let's start with Alaska. Land of ice, snow, and not temperatures in the teens--the HUNDRED and teens, that is. Then add in the ticking weather bomb of dropping temperatures and it sounds even better. Right? Finally, stir in a quirky native woman who keeps foretelling doom and gloom, and what doesn't sound good??? And if that all didn't cut it, there's that little thing called faith. Kimberley Woodhouse talked about the faith she wove into her story, and I don't know about you, but those are my favorite sorts of books. So there's that. We also chatted about her backlist (hard to get those original suspense novels, but they might be on eBay or Biblio.com) and about her upcoming publishing schedule. Two suspense and three historicals a year for the next few years. YAY!!! *does happy dance* Like me, Kimberley Woodhouse doesn't just have a to-be-read pile. She has a whole heaping gob of shelves stuffed with them. I love when I'm not alone. I feel her pain. Feel it. We'll never read all the books we want to--never write them all, either. But we'll have rich lives filled with story while we're here on earth, and that's beautiful. God is good. 26 Below by Kimberley Woodhouse "A thrill ride. . . as current as today's front-page news!" --Colleen Coble, USA Today best-selling author In her new role as Emergency Operations Center director for Fairbanks, Alaska, Darcie Phillips prevents disasters. But none of her training can prepare her for the terror that's coming. As a cybersecurity specialist, Jason Myers is determined to ferret out any threats to the town he now calls home--and that includes his reckless brother and his ecoterrorist friends. When an old woman's wild prediction--widespread destruction as soon as the Fairbanks temperature falls to 26 below--hits national headlines, neither Darcie nor Jason sees a real risk to anything but tourism. Then the bodies start dropping. Darcie is relying on her experience and intelligence to stop a killer; Jason is relying on God to guide the way. They'll have to work together to find the truth and prevent their Alaskan town from becoming a city of nightmares. The first in a thrilling new suspense series from best-selling author Kimberley Woodhouse, 26 Below will delight fans of Lynnette Eason, Irene Hannon, and Lynn Blackburn. Pro Bowl selections were announced this week and Geno Smith was among the top quarterbacks selected. Tariq Woolen was the only rookie on the team to be selected and was joined on defense by safety Quandre Diggs. Jason Myers also made the team. Each player was on the podium this week to react to their selection and Pete Carroll offered his thoughts as well. We also hear from Geno, Pete and others about today's matchup against the Chiefs. It's expected to be a cold one, but Cody Barton and Will Dissly talk about their familiarity with cold weather games.
