This week on Sports Guyz Only Brian O'Neill's contract extension sets the tone for another lively episode as the guys debate whether the Vikings made the right move, leading to plenty of passionate opinions and a few memorable rants. Along the way, they swap stories about brutal fantasy football losses, gambling heartbreak, and the broke-college meals that somehow tasted like five-star cuisine at the time. From there, the conversation shifts to the NBA as LeBron James' reported move to Philadelphia sparks a debate about what could be his final superteam. The crew breaks down whether the 76ers become instant championship favorites, where the Timberwolves stack up in the title race, and why Anthony Edwards and Minnesota could be poised for another deep playoff run. They also rank their biggest contenders and discuss whether stars can truly change the culture of a team. The guys also dive into the Vikings' offseason, reacting to Jamal Adams signing in Minnesota, Harrison Smith's uncertain future, and whether Aaron Rodgers can still lead a team back to the playoffs. Plus, they brainstorm a punishment for this season's NFL pick'em competition that could leave the loser sporting some questionable gear. To close out the show, it's a rapid-fire round of buy-or-sell predictions before the conversation turns to FIFA, UEFA, and whether the growing commercialization of the World Cup is pushing international soccer in the wrong direction. Plus: •Fantasy football gambling disasters •The best broke-college meals ever created •NFL betting rules everyone should follow •Which professional sports team they'd buy with $20 billion •The best investment in sports ownership •Will MLB finally adopt a salary cap? •Could the NFL expand internationally? •The future of FIFA and the World Cup As always, it's NFL hot takes, NBA offseason debates, soccer talk, and enough laughs to keep the group chat going long after the microphones are off. Evan Roberts delivers a blunt reality check to Draymond Green, arguing that LeBron James did not avoid Golden State because of old rivalries or fear of criticism. He chose Philadelphia because the Warriors are no longer good enough to win, while the 76ers still offer a possible championship path. Evan and Tiki Barber also debate whether Steph Curry should remain with Golden State rather than chase another title elsewhere, with Charlotte emerging as the one destination that would feel natural because of Curry's family ties. Plus, Evan reveals the former Giants and Jets he cannot believe are still in the NFL, including Jamal Adams, Eli Apple, Denzel Mims, Bobby Hart and Darren Waller.

During Henry Lake's interview with Steve Silton, news broke that free agent safety Jamal Adams would join the Vikings. Who else would we call but Purple Insider's Matthew Coller to break down the move?
It has been a while since sports and entertainment attorney Steve Silton has been on the show. Like an idiot, I decided to work on my backyard firepit yesterday in the extreme heat. We got six of the nine circles done before calling it quits after about two hours. It was absolutely brutal…and I will never make that mistake again. Needless to say, I'm dragging ass today. Thankfully, we had a MAJOR concert announcement this morning, which helped perk me up a bit. In case you missed it, Godsmack & Dorothy are coming to the La Crosse Center on Friday, October 16th!!! Tickets go on-sale this Friday at 10am. In the news this morning, a recall on Bacon, the CEO of Cracker Barrel is stepping down after the company's disastrous attempt at rebranding, Bryan Kohberger is attempting to change his plea, Carly Simon announces that she's got Parkinson's disease In sports, the Brewers started their west coast road trip with a loss to the Giants last night, Eric Bieniemy's wife was shot by the couple's son, Jamal Adams is signing with the Vikings, Michael Lombardi is on paid administration leave from UNC, Conor McGregor is looking to fight Max Holloway again in 2027, and FIFA President Gianni Infantino has been accused of corruption. Great story from New Jersey about a cop who helped deliver a baby in a parking lot, and a dog that's been missing for five years gets reunited with it's owner. Apparently, some people are eating more iceberg lettuce & trying to get the explosive diarrhea so they'll lose weight. Former Jets safety Jamal Adams took to social media to let the world know that he has in fact reached out to the Jets about possibly returning to play for the Green and White. Is Adams hoping nobody in the organization or fan base can recall his last stint that ended with Adams shooting his way out of town? https://api.spreaker.com/v2/episodes/73034329/download.mp3 And with training camp right around the corner, here are our top fifteen current Jets according to, well…us. 1: WR Garrett Wilson: The unquestioned top receiver on the roster, Wilson could be primed for a big season. Say what you want about quarterback Geno Smith, but the guy likes to let it rip and throw the ball deep down the field. With Wilson’s elite speed and additional help on offense to draw some coverage away, we may actually see a career year from Wilson. 2: LB DeMario Davis: Age is the only reason we didn’t have Davis at the top of the list. Easily the most accomplished player on the roster and a top 100 NFL player, Davis can’t keep playing at this level at 37-years-old, can he? We’ll give him the benefit of the doubt at this point which should place him at or near the top of this list. 3: RB Breece Hall: We’ve predicted several breakout years for Hall over the past few seasons as we keep thinking that at some point, the Jets will get an offensive coordinator who plays to Hall’s strengths. It hasn’t happened yet, but could Frank Reich be the guy to finally help Hall top 1,500 yards from scrimmage? 4: RT Armand Membou: Membou was one of the best rookie offensive linemen in the NFL last season and expectations are high entering year two. Membou has the potential to become a top five tackle in the league. 5: DT T’Vondre Sweat: This may not be a popular selection for those who haven’t watched all that much of Sweat, but given what we’ve seen on film from him and the importance he’ll have in this defense as the Jets look to play more 3-4, we believe that by season’s end, he’ll win over fans who have questioned his motor and ability. 6: DB Minkah Fitzpatrick: Fitzpatrick has seen a huge dip in ball production in recent years but we’re hoping that pairing up with Aaron Glenn, who has done some great work with safeties in the past, will help him become the player who had multiple seasons of five interceptions in the past along with excellent work in run support. 7: DT Jowon Briggs: Perhaps the single best “bang for buck” move Darren Mougey has made, trading a late day 3 pick for Briggs prior to the start of last season looks to be a steal. An impact pass rusher on the interior who is also a very good run stopper, his emergence was one of the most encouraging developments of the 2025 season. 8: QB Geno Smith: The veteran quarterback returns to the Jets with a pair of 4,000 yard seasons under his belt, but also with a ton of interceptions. If Smith can clean that up, the Jets could be a fun team to watch on offense for the fist time in a long time. 9: WR AD Mitchell: Mitchell seems to have popped onto plenty of radars in recent months, but if you go back and watch some of the work he did late last season, you’ll see why the Jets insisted he be included in the Sauce Gardner deal. Good enough to be a number two receiver, look for a breakout season from Mitchell. A projection some will surely disagree with, but we’ll see in time if we’re on the mark or out of our minds. 10: RG Joe Tippmann: Tippmann had a very good 2025 in his first season at guard and was rewarded with a brand new hefty contract. Should he take the leap we expect in his second year at the position, the Jets offensive line will be even better than many anticipate. 11: LT Olu Fashanu: Fashanu did some very good things last season but wasn’t quite the force we expected him to be. Still a player with the ability to be one of the better tackles in the league, Fashanu will look to dominate in year three in hopes of being next in line for a huge contract. 12: Edge Will McDonald: While some will point to McDonald’s dip in production as evidence of slipping from the previous season, the fact of the matter is that McDonald was much better than the box score indicates. 13: TE Mason Taylor: This is a fairly big projection once again, but we believe Taylor, along with many other Jets last season, was hampered by horrendous quarterback play. With a year under his belt and a better group of skill players on offense, look for a significant uptick in production. 14: Edge David Bailey: We realize he may be much higher on this list by season’s end, but with no pro production to point to we’re keeping the two rookies on this list in the bottom two spots. 15: CB D’Angleo Ponds: As many have said, had Ponds been a few inches taller, he would have been a first-round lock. But checking in at 5′ 9”, he was there for the taking much later than that. We believe Ponds will show himself to be worthy of a starting spot on the boundary, but may stick in the slot if the other corners on the roster are holding their own outside. BT & Sal are fired up over the New York Jets' shocking trade of cornerback Sauce Gardner for two first-round picks and WR A.D. Mitchell from the Colts. They declare the move a "home run," arguing that GM Moogy has shown the guts to make the difficult decisions necessary to clean house and accelerate the Jets' rebuild. The hosts debate whether this is a Jamal Adams trade repeat, ultimately deciding it's different and far better, as it gives the new regime Aaron Glenn and Moogy the assets to build their own culture. They praise Moogy's forward vision and financial solvency boost, while arguing that a corner, even a talented one, doesn't help a losing team win enough games. The segment wraps with a dramatic reading of the "Call of the Day" celebrating the trade.
BT & Sal erupt with excitement over the Jets' blockbuster trade, sending star cornerback Sauce Gardner to the Colts for two first-round picks and a wide receiver. They call it a "total rebuild" and a move that gives the new regime, Moogy and Glenn, "power broker" status, allowing them to accelerate the process and target a franchise quarterback. They debate the why—arguing Sauce was "underperforming" and didn't fit the new team culture—comparing it favorably to the regrettable Jamal Adams trade. The hosts conclude that this bold move resets the team's finances, re-establishes direction, and shifts the conversation away from the "insignificant drivel" of the losing season.

RUNDOWN Piano lessons, online gambling in the Cayman Islands, and Louis Armstrong trivia. We've got it all. Mitch and Hotshot dissects Ichiro's Hall of Fame speech, particularly his omission of managers like Lou Piniella. Mitch and Hotshot Scott unpack the Mariners' blockbuster moves—bringing back Eugenio Suarez and adding Josh Naylor at the trade deadline—instantly transforming a middling offense into one of the most dangerous in baseball. They contrast the current optimism with the baffling decision to trade Suarez last year for pennies, which may have cost the team a playoff spot. With Bryce Miller returning to form after injury and the offense now averaging nearly five runs per game, the duo argues that anything less than a playoff berth would be a major disappointment for the 2025 Mariners. David Samson join Mitch and reflects on his relationship with Ichiro Suzuki after being name-checked in Ichiro's Hall of Fame speech — including a humorous jab at the Miami Marlins. Samson details their deep personal friendship, Ichiro's elite preparation and humility, and why he believes Ichiro still deserves a roster spot even today. The conversation pivots to MLB trade deadline winners and losers, with Seattle emerging as a serious AL contender, and whether Cal Raleigh's heroic season could translate into an MVP — if Judge stumbles. Samson also criticizes the anonymous voter who snubbed Ichiro from a unanimous Hall induction, calling it “cowardice. Joe Doyle and Brady Farkas (Mariners No-Table) break down Seattle's pivotal week: winning three of four against Texas, the return of Eugenio Suarez, and a stretch that has them closing in on the AL West lead. The trio analyzes the revamped lineup, including Julio's hot August and Randy Arozarena in the leadoff spot, while also addressing Cal Raleigh's slump and bullpen concerns. They assess Bryce Miller's return timeline, why the team passed on Jhoan Duran, and whether George Kirby and Logan Gilbert can anchor the final playoff push. Out-on-a-limb predictions and plenty of Mariner optimism round out the episode. Brady Henderson joins Mitch Unfiltered to break down the top three storylines from Seahawks training camp: the major quarterback transition from Geno Smith to Sam Darnold, a loaded and returning defensive core with a few key injury concerns, and a possible shift in the running back hierarchy as Zach Charbonnet gains favor. Henderson also highlights emerging rookie wide receiver Tory Horton as more than just a training camp darling, weighs in on trade rumors involving Micah Parsons and Terry McLaurin, and offers key insight into position group battles, injury timelines, and contract status updates.
