Cory Schroeder, also affectionately known as Stretch was a Bauxite, Arkansas man who vanished on Friday May 21st 2019, just a day short of his 45th birthday. Cory was born on May 22, 1974 in Mauston, Wisconsin. He has a younger sister named Charish Schroeder. Although Cory had a great home life, he would begin hanging out with a bad crowd. Cory then engaged in criminal behavior which led him to a prison sentence from 1995 to 2003. His sister said while in prison, Cory stayed out of trouble and never lost any privileges. He received his commissary and was able to visit with his family without any disruptions. After leaving prison, Cory struggled with finding work since it can be difficult to find a job with a felony. But he remained positive and didn't want to return to prison. He focused on working and spending time with his handicapped daughter. Charish said he loved his daughter and committed his life to being a supportive father. According to Charish, Cory had asked a friend to take him to the store on May 21st, 2019. The friend said he wore a sweatshirt with a hood and a black and red backpack. This was the last time Cory was officially last seen. After Cory didn't show up to celebrate his birthday with his family, they became concerned. They knew he would have shown up to celebrate his birthday. Charish began reaching out to Cory's acquaintances looking for him. His disappearance was also reported to law enforcement.Today, Charish has spent time speaking to people who knew her brother and taken to social media to try to locate her brother's body. She is convinced he's been murdered because she knows he would never walk away from his daughter or family members. For now, she just wants to recover his body so he can receive a proper burial and the family can grieve over the loss. If you have any information about Cory's whereabouts, please contact the Saline Sheriff's Department at 501-303-5647 or 501-303-5648. And if you would like to make an anonymous call, please call 501-303-5744. And if you would like additional information about this case, please visit the Cory Schroeder.....Have you seen me? FB page. Today, I've invited author, Charish Reid to talk about her book, “I'll Come Back for You,” a novel that is as scary as it is sexy. Two sisters inherit their grandmother's haunted B&B, and one sister invites a famous ghost hunting show to help purge the ghost while the other sister gets a second chance at romance with an old crush. Like I said, scary and sexy! It's pretty obvious we had a great time, and I hope you share this joy with others by spreading the word about the She Wore Black podcast. You can also help out the show by following She Wore Black on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook, and leaving us a review wherever you get your podcasts. Link to bioRxiv paper: http://biorxiv.org/cgi/content/short/2020.10.10.334664v1?rss=1 Authors: Ghobrial, M., Charish, J., Takada, S., Valiante, T., Monnier, P., Radovanovic, I., Bader, G., Waelchli, T. Abstract: A large number of hospitalized COVID-19 patients show neurological symptoms such as ischemic- and hemorrhagic stroke as well as encephalitis, and SARS-CoV-2 can directly infect endothelial cells leading to endotheliitis across multiple vascular beds. These findings suggest an involvement of the brain- and peripheral vasculature in COVID-19, but the underlying molecular mechanisms remain obscure. To understand the potential mechanisms underlying SARS-CoV-2 tropism for brain vasculature, we constructed a molecular atlas of the expression patterns of SARS-CoV-2 viral entry-associated genes (receptors and proteases) and SARS-CoV-2 interaction partners in human (and mouse) adult and fetal brain as well as in multiple non-CNS tissues in single-cell RNA-sequencing data across various datasets. We observed a distinct expression pattern of the cathepsins B (CTSB) and -L (CTSL) - which are able to substitute for the ACE2 co-receptor TMPRSS2 - in the human vasculature with CTSB being mainly expressed in the brain vasculature and CTSL predominantly in the peripheral vasculature, and these observations were confirmed at the protein level in the Human Protein Atlas and using immunofluorescence stainings. This expression pattern of SARS-CoV-2 viralentry associated proteases and SARS-CoV-2 interaction partners was also present in endothelial cells and microglia in the fetal brain, suggesting a developmentally establishedSARS-CoV-2 entry machinery in the human vasculature. At both the adult and fetal stages, we detected a distinct pattern of SARS-CoV-2 entry associated genes' transcripts in brain vascular endothelial cells and microglia, providing a potential explanation for an inflammatory response in the brain endothelium upon SARS-CoV-2 infection. Moreover, CTSB was co-expressed in adult and fetal brain endothelial cells with genes and pathways involved in innate immunity and inflammation, angiogenesis, blood-brain-barrier permeability, vascular metabolism, and coagulation, providing a potential explanation for the role of brain endothelial cells in clinically observed (neuro)vascular symptoms in COVID-19 patients. Our study serves as a publicly available single-cell atlas of SARS-CoV-2 related entry factors and interaction partners in human and mouse brain endothelial- and perivascular cells, which can be employed for future studies in clinical samples of COVID-19 patients. If you would like to honor someone you know who is serving in our armed forces, do not be shy to write me and tell me about them. You don't have to have all the details and dates, you don't need ranks and honors. You just need a name of someone you care about. Charish Brooks is a P1 who forgot a lot of the details in her request, but I still feel her passion and her pride regardless. Today we are saluting Derek Livingston of the United States Army. Derek is an active duty soldier in the Army and he is currently deployed overseas for the 3rd time since he and Charish have been together. She had one simple message for her boyfriend Derek, and that is "Hurry home, I'm waiting". The salutes may be more comfort for the submitting person like Charish, than they are for the troops who may not hear this show on the other side of the globe, and that's OK. Those waiting at home have a big part of themselves wrapped up in service too. When anybody serves this nation overseas, they take a little bit of everyone who cares for them along. So today we salute Derek Livingston of the United States Army.

Charish highlights the simplicity of Jesus’s transforming power as we surrender to Him and let Him do His work in us. In sharing a part of her own journey, she demonstrated how the richness of the scripture can inspire us to lean into the work of the Holy Spirit and make us living temples of a merciful, loving God.

I went across the street from my westside studio apartment to the yacht club (in a total baller move in my opinion) so I could do a podcast from my best friend Raven's deployment party she threw for her husband. She had a good crowd there to send Charlie off so I talked to a few of them and Charish reminded me to talk about farts but I think forgot
Charish shares a moving testimony about the transformative work of Jesus in her life. She specifically highlights the area of giving where she learned to trust God and test His promises. Through this process, He took control and brought healing to her broken places.
In this episode, we're joined by author, podcaster and scientist Kristi Charish, who tells us about how important the Indiana Jones movies were to her as a young fan — especially The Temple of Doom — and why they still resonate so powerfully in pop culture and sf. She'll talk about reading Heinlein and Asimov, and some of her favourite Marvel Comics series over the years, including Excalibur and Ultimate Avengers. She'll also tell us about her love of video games, especially Dragon Age, Uncharted and Mass Effect, and how they influenced her writing. Kristi shares the story of her roundabout path from being a kid who wanted to be Short Round, to becoming an archaeology student who switched to genetics, to branching into a career as a writer. She'll talk about how that background in science is as important to her writing as her enjoyment of speculative fiction has been. She'll explore the nature of urban fantasy. And we'll discuss how hard science underlies her urban fantasy stories, and how she works to ensure that doesn't interrupt the storytelling. Our interview took place in October 2015 at VCon — the Vancouver Science Fiction, Fantasy and Games Convention (in a lounge along a main thoroughfare, which is why you'll hear the comings and goings of conventioneers in the background).
