Welcome to Dev Game Club, where this week we continue our series on Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory. We cover lots of topics, delving into stealth and AI systems, objectives and their communication, and other thoughts. Dev Game Club looks at classic video games and plays through them over several episodes, providing commentary. Sections played: Another mission Issues covered: whether it was designed for a controller, graphic fidelity holding up, the fixed function shading pipeline, the crossover between audio and visual meters, what's going on with the light meter, ambient noise affecting how quickly you can move, adjusting eyesight, layering mechanics into a mini-game, sprinklers everywhere, hose extraction, trip lasers, using a body as a laser avoider, a key that isn't a key, interrogation mechanics, consequences for not interrogating, multiple paths to information, forgetting the vision modes, the marketing targets for particular consoles, dynamic mission objectives, motivating spaces through pattern language, having to mark up the world to tell you what's important, a digression into climbing anywhere, "what map?," not wasting space, clockwork levels, a globetrotting set of ops vs single-location games, Brett has a good point, contrasting flavors, just jumping in and having the briefings paper over travel, the attract mode, benefitting pacing. Games, people, and influences mentioned or discussed: XBOX, Pulp Fiction (obliquely), PlayStation 3, Clint Hocking, NOLF 2, Max Payne, Metal Gear (series), Three Men and a Baby, Poltergeist, Eternal Darkness, Mission: Impossible (series), Entrapment, Sean Connery, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Dishonored, Prey, Hitman, Die Hard, Assassin's Creed, Crazy Climber, Cairn, Jusant, Hideo Kojima, Reacher (series), The Gray Man (series), The Hunt for Red October, Quiller (series), Shadowlord-72, Kirk Hamilton, Aaron Evers, Mark Garcia. Ever wondered about the legal boundaries of police during a car stop, and what rights both officers and civilians have?In this episode, law student Troy Henricksen shares a story from a police officer buddy about pulling over a car full of friends—one sober driver, the rest having partied hard—and what happens when those passengers turn into drivers themselves.Steve and Troy get into the nitty-gritty: what a cop can actually do after a traffic stop, what counts as reasonable suspicion, and how officers (and defense lawyers) handle these tricky situations. Plus, they're not shy about cracking jokes or calling out the awkward moments—like when someone mouths off to the police or tries to get out of Uber's surge pricing by making a poor decision. If you've ever wondered about your rights during a stop, what real lawyers think about these “gray areas,” or just want some inside scoop on how these scenarios play out in the legal world, you're in the right place.Key Takeaways:Reasonable Suspicion for Stops: Police can legally stop someone if they have a reasonable, articulable suspicion that a crime—like impaired driving—may be occurring, even based on a recent encounter (04:00).Passenger vs. Driver Rights: Under current law (Pennsylvania v. Mims), officers can order all occupants out of a vehicle on a legitimate stop, regardless of whether passengers did anything wrong (01:02).Entrapment and Officer Discretion: The scenario highlights the importance of officer intent: it's not entrapment unless police actively persuade someone predisposed not to offend (11:48). Smart defense cross-examination can reveal police motivation, but doesn't always overturn a valid stop.Submit your questions to www.lawyertalkpodcast.com.Recorded at Channel 511.Stephen E. **Clay Edwards Show – Episode 1219 Recap** **Guests:** Shaun Yurtkuran (Hour 1 & 2) and Andrew Gasser (Hour 2) ### Mark Fuhrman's Passing & OJ Simpson Trial Reflections Clay opened by discussing the passing of Mark Fuhrman, the former LAPD detective best known for his role in the O.J. Simpson trial. He described Fuhrman as one of the most iconic and infamous figures in modern pop culture history. Shaun, who has studied the case extensively, noted that prosecutors were aware of Fuhrman's background issues before calling him as a witness. He pointed out that Chris Darden reportedly resisted using Fuhrman, but Marcia Clark made the final decision to call him. Both hosts agreed the prosecution made critical strategic errors, including allowing O.J. Simpson to try on the glove in court. Clay connected the discussion to broader race relations in America. He shared his personal experiences growing up in South Jackson during the 1980s in a diverse neighborhood, attending public schools, and not encountering overt racism in his daily life. He argued that the very public celebrations by segments of the Black community following O.J.'s acquittal damaged race relations and have not aged well over time. Clay drew a distinction between individual Black people and what he called “Black culture rot.” ### Jackson Bribery Trial – The “Free the Land Three” Clay and Shaun devoted significant time to the federal bribery case involving Hinds County District Attorney Jody Owens, Mayor Chokwe Antar Lumumba, and Councilman Aaron Banks, whom Clay referred to as the “Free the Land Three.” - **Jody Owens' defense**: Entrapment. He claims undercover agents took advantage of his alcoholism by getting him drunk during meetings (referencing White Claws and Truly in a photo included in court filings). - **Chokwe Antar Lumumba's defense**: The conduct did not constitute bribery or an official act but was instead standard campaign contributions used to build political influence — behavior common among politicians. - **Marvay Smith**: The Jackson businessman who pleaded guilty early and is cooperating with prosecutors. Court documents referenced an allegation that Owens suggested running license plates on vehicles associated with the undercover operation, expecting them to trace back to the FBI. - **Aaron Banks**: Clay and Shaun discussed the possibility that Banks may ultimately cooperate with the government, given the lighter charges he faces and the potential for a reduced sentence through substantial assistance. Shaun broke down the legal standards for an entrapment defense, noting that it requires both government inducement and a lack of predisposition on the defendant's part. He argued Jody's active participation throughout the scheme makes a successful entrapment claim difficult. Both hosts described the overall operation as poorly executed and amateurish for individuals in such prominent positions. Clay predicted that if Lumumba were to flip and cooperate, it would dramatically increase pressure on Jody to accept a plea deal. ### Hilton Hotel on County Line Road Up for Sale Clay reported that the Hilton hotel on County Line Road is currently up for auction with a starting bid of $1.8 million. He noted the property remains open and operational. The conversation turned to the long-term decline of County Line Road, which was once a major commercial and traffic corridor but has seen significantly reduced activity in recent years. Shaun observed how dramatically the area has changed and referenced an investor who has acquired multiple downtown Jackson buildings at very low prices in recent years. They also discussed ongoing challenges with other downtown properties damaged by past weather events. ### Crime, Security & Business Challenges in Jackson Clay discussed conversations with a bar owner in the North Jackson area regarding recent shootings in a shared parking lot, including one incident that resulted in the death of a young woman who had recently graduated high school during a post-graduation party. Key points raised: - Most of the violence has occurred **outside** the bars in parking lot areas after patrons leave the premises. - The new Jackson Police Chief has reportedly pushed for bars and nightclubs to hire additional private security or off-duty officers at the businesses' own expense. - Open-container policies have contributed to problems, with some patrons assuming they can drink in parking lots. - Clay argued that businesses already pay taxes and are entitled to basic police services, including proactive presence in known problem areas. He contrasted this with the visible success of Capitol Police presence in the Belhaven and Fondren districts, where it has supported revitalization. - Off-duty officer details carry significant costs, and requiring multiple officers for larger lots places a heavy financial burden on small business owners. - Both Clay and Andrew emphasized that Jackson is in an “enforcement phase” and criticized the idea of additional studies on the root causes of crime while immediate enforcement remains insufficient. ### Disturbing Murder Statistics Clay presented FBI-derived statistics from 2021 showing stark disparities in murder offending rates by race and age group: - Black males ages 15–24: 207.4 murders per 100,000 - Black males ages 5–14: 4.9 per 100,000 - White males ages 15–64: 5.2 per 100,000 He highlighted that Black children ages 5–14 commit murders at a rate roughly comparable to White males ages 15–64. Black females in several age brackets also showed higher rates than White males. Clay described the numbers as deeply concerning and attributed the patterns primarily to cultural factors, including family breakdown and the absence of strong moral foundations. Andrew agreed the data reflects serious cultural problems that require honest internal examination within affected communities. ### Civil Rights Education & Upcoming Protests Clay argued that the way civil rights history is currently taught in schools has created a built-in excuse for failure and conditioned young people to view themselves as perpetual victims. He suggested the material should remain available for independent study but questioned its prominent role in K-12 education, claiming it often fuels grievance rather than preparing students for real-world accountability. He referenced organized efforts promoting a “Day of Action” protest regarding recent Supreme Court rulings on voting maps, framing it as part of ongoing narratives around voter suppression
Something smells royally fishy. The stench has been detected wafting from Sandringham all the way to Balmoral. The scandals around Lord Mandelson and former Prince Andrew have showcased that the rich and powerful have been operating beyond the law and that royal sinecures have been used to obscure the provenance of ill-gotten gains. Consider: In America, you make your money. But in Britain, you can use it for access. If the Epstein affair has shown us anything, it's that a royal seal of approval is infinitely valuable. Friendship with a top working Royal takes one from the shady jet set into the global elite establishment. And if you can buy a royal seal of approval - like Epstein did with former Prince Andrew -- you get the keys to some of the most influential people in the world. To discuss Epstein's relationship with Prince Andrew, Ghislaine Maxwell and Sarah Ferguson, Jason is joined this week by Andrew Lownie, author of the Sunday Times number 1 Best Selling book, Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York. The pair look at what made Andrew's personality so easily corruptible, how Andrew's narcissism and megalomania were fueled, the role of Royal Reputation Washing across the globe, and why there could be more nasty revelations about what the royals have been up yet to come. Plus, as they Order the Disorder, they discuss making the royal family more accountable, transparent, and better at serving the British people. Once someone in law enforcement goes crooked, there are quite a few ways to really bend the rules and more harm than good. Entrapment is a very good example, and Kimon intends to play a complex game here with multiple snares, except there's a snare waiting for him as well.
In this debrief episode of Narcissist Apocalypse, Brandon breaks down Francesca's story and the patterns of coercive control that shaped her relationship. What began with attention, validation, and grand romantic gestures slowly turned into something far more dangerous: boundary testing, jealousy, surveillance, body control, isolation, and fear. Francesca was not just being criticized or monitored. She was being conditioned to live under constant scrutiny, where nearly every choice, interaction, and movement could be turned against her. This episode explores how coercive control works over time, how fear, obligation, guilt, and shame keep survivors trapped, and how everyday life can become organized around avoiding the next accusation, interrogation, or explosion. If you've ever wondered how someone can end up living inside a relationship that feels like a prison, Francesca's story shows how that process happens step by step. On this Pisces New Moon episode of Cosmic Cousins, we begin by arriving in the liminal space this lunation creates—a threshold between the dream that has carried us for over a decade and the new reality beginning to emerge. This is a moment to feel deeply, to notice the currents beneath the surface, and to honor both the surrender and the subtle stirrings of action that this closing cycle invites. Then, Jeff Hinshaw is joined by Pisces Moon artist Rochelle Voyles. Returning to the podcast for the first time since 2017, we dive into Rochelle's solo exhibition Unreliable Narrators that just opened at 81 Leonard Gallery in Tribeca. Through pieces like “Slithering Ruin” and “Defense and Entrapment,” we contemplate nonlinear time, archetypal storytelling, and the duality of distance, and how beauty invites us closer to truths that may otherwise feel unbearable. Music becomes a co-conspirator in this process, with two songs from Pisces Moon artists Anna Olivia Eve and Lindsey Mills guiding emotional resonance and collective reflection. We reimagine collage as a spiritual technology (one that mirrors astrology, tarot, and memory itself) where meaning is not prescribed but discovered through feeling. In a closing “Mystical Meandering,” Rochelle journeys through a surreal Pisces Dreamscape, and receives a visit from a crab on the seashores, looks up through a telescope to cloudy skies, and receives ancestral guidance from the Six of Cups and an invocation of healing from past trauma. We seal the episode with reflections on water as conduit, reminding us that to trust the dream, to honor the unseen, and to create from the depths is itself an act of healing, connection, and quiet revolution.

Meralgia Paresthetica Education and the Pain Boards This podcast episode from the NRAP Academy features Dr. David Rosenblum discussing Meralgia Paresthetica, a mononeuropathy affecting the lateral femoral cutaneous nerve. The condition involves entrapment or compression of this purely sensory nerve as it passes under the inguinal ligament near the anterior superior iliac spine, causing burning pain, tingling, and numbness in the anterior lateral thigh. Key clinical points covered include the nerve's L2-3 origin from the lumbar plexus, common causes such as obesity, tight clothing, pregnancy, and diabetes, and the absence of motor weakness or reflex changes. Diagnosis is primarily clinical, though ultrasound can visualize nerve entrapment effectively. Treatment approaches range from conservative management including weight loss, avoiding tight clothing, physical therapy, and neuropathic pain medications (gabapentinoids, duloxetine, tricyclics) to interventional procedures. Dr. Rosenblu strongly advocates for ultrasound-guided nerve blocks over fluoroscopic or blind approaches, citing better visualization and reduced risk of nerve trauma. Advanced treatments mentioned include peripheral neuromodulation and cryoablation for refractory cases. The episode emphasizes that this condition is commonly tested on pain management board examinations (ABA, ABPM, FIPP, osteopathic boards) and can be significantly more painful and disabling than typically appreciated. Upcoming Courses and Training Opportunities: Ultrasound training available at nrappain.org Regenerative medicine training courses Comprehensive Question Bank for Pain Management board preparation covering ABA, ABPM, FIPP, and osteopathic examinations CME credits available through the platform Clinical consultation services available at Dr. Rosenblu's Brooklyn office for patients seeking treatment Meralgia Paresthetica Education and Clinical Guidance Overview: Focused on definition, anatomy, diagnosis, management, and board exam relevance for meralgia paresthetica. Anatomy and Pathophysiology: Nerve: lateral femoral cutaneous nerve (sensory only), typically arising from L2–L3. Course: traverses across the iliacus, passes under or through the inguinal ligament just medial to the ASIS, then enters the thigh. Sensory distribution: anterolateral thigh; anterior cutaneous division extends toward the knee. Etiology and Risk Factors: Common contributors: obesity, tight belts or clothing, pregnancy, prolonged sitting, diabetes, prior pelvic or hip surgery. Entrapment site: under the inguinal ligament near the ASIS (most frequent). Clinical Presentation: Symptoms: burning pain, tingling, numbness, dysesthesia localized to the anterolateral thigh. Provocation/relief: worse with standing or walking; relief with sitting or hip flexion. Neurologic exam: no motor weakness; no reflex changes. Diagnosis: Primarily clinical; Tinel's sign over the inguinal ligament may reproduce symptoms. EMG and nerve conduction studies are typically normal. Ultrasound: superficial nerve, generally easy to visualize, including in obese patients; can identify entrapment. Management Recommendations: First-line conservative care: weight loss; avoidance of tight belts/clothing; physical therapy; NSAIDs for inflammation. Pharmacologic options: gabapentin, pregabalin, duloxetine, tricyclic antidepressants; consider topical analgesic creams (e.g., lidocaine or anti-inflammatory combinations). Interventional approach: Ultrasound-guided nerve block is strongly recommended; the nerve lies lateral to the sartorius; real-time visualization enables precise, safe injection. Avoid fluoroscopic and blind approaches due to risk of further nerve trauma and post-procedure pain. Advanced interventions: Peripheral neuromodulation may provide benefit in select cases. Cryoablation has shown beneficial outcomes for the lateral femoral cutaneous nerve. Surgery is rarely required; options include neurolysis, decompression, or neurectomy as a last resort. Board Exam Preparation Emphasis: Key facts commonly tested: Involved nerve: lateral femoral cutaneous nerve. Nerve roots: L2–L3 (with population variants). Sensory-only nerve; absence of motor deficits. Compression site: under the inguinal ligament near the ASIS. First-line therapy: conservative measures; refractory cases: ultrasound-guided nerve block. Keywords to study: meralgia paresthetica; lateral femoral cutaneous nerve (also called lateral cutaneous nerve of the thigh). Practice Considerations: Severity: can be profoundly painful and disabling; often underappreciated. Referral: clinicians not trained in interventional techniques should refer patients to an interventionalist for diagnosis and treatment. Decisions and Recommendations Ultrasound guidance is the preferred modality for lateral femoral cutaneous nerve interventions, superseding fluoroscopic or blind approaches. Rationale: superior visualization, real-time feedback, and reduced risk of nerve trauma and post-procedural pain. Outreach and Resources NRAP Academy resources: Ultrasound training, regenerative medicine training, CME credits, and a comprehensive pain board question bank (ABA, ABPM, FIPP, osteopathic, and related exams). Clinical availability: Patient consultations for meralgia paresthetica offered in Brooklyn at www.AABPpain.com 718 436 7246 .

Eric Immesberger spent over 20 years as a New York ATF agent, working undercover, taking down violent criminals, dismantling gun-trafficking networks, and operating inside some of the most dangerous environments in the country. In this episode, Eric shares the real stories behind his career—from his early years as a Brooklyn detective to high-risk federal operations, major crime investigations, and the intense pressure of hunting armed offenders in New York. He opens up about the violence he witnessed, the criminals he pursued, the psychological toll of undercover work, and the personal sacrifices required to do the job. This interview dives deep into the realities of federal law enforcement: firearms trafficking, gang cases, task-force operations, trauma, mental health, and life after retirement. The worst reaction out of everyone in the ton? Well, he is a sensitive boy. With a secret out in the open and an engagement up in the air, we have our social calendar full this week as we begin our rewatch of S3E7 Joining of Hands. As we plan the most elaborate wedding breakfast of the season, we'll be checking the diaries of the Smythe-Smith quintet, finding a hair tie for a heartbroken ponytail and taking a trip across town to check the marital status of an old friend. Elsewhere, we'll be eavesdropping on a staircase confrontation between an uncommonly lucky Eloise and a commonly entrapped Colin, before baiting our nets to catch a sad little rainbow fish over at Featherington House. But beware, dearest listeners: we hear an imposter is on the loose. And gossip as we might, we cannot tolerate a lie. Episode Title: Operation Golf Club Entrapment Pt. 1Episode SummaryAaron and Devin return with updates on their fitness journeys and an unexpected development: Aaron has actually ridden his bike to work twice (before school schedule changes made it impossible). Devin shares his calf injury saga from pushing too hard in marathon training, though he's recovered with just weeks before the big race. Both hosts continue their intermittent fasting journeys with surprising consistency. The episode takes a dramatic turn when Aaron and Brian Duncan execute "Operation Golf Club Entrapment" - leaving a complete set of clubs on Devin's patio while he's away. What follows is a spirited debate about whether Devin should take up golf for business development purposes, complete with counteroffers and negotiations. The conversation shifts to more serious territory as Aaron voices concerns about his son's school requiring iPad use for everything - homework, assignments, announcements - with zero paper alternatives. This sparks a broader discussion about technology addiction, the damage done to the "iPad generation," and whether schools are making things worse by mandating constant screen time while parents try to limit it at home.Episode DescriptionWhen golf clubs appear on your patio and iPads dominate your kid's education.Join Aaron and Devin for an episode covering calf injuries, intermittent fasting wins, and the great golf club ambush of 2025. Despite its reputation as giant bomb, Entrapment was the 24th-highest grossing movie of 1999, coming in just behind another movie starring Catherine Zeta-Jones, The Haunting. Entrapment opened on April 30th at number 1 with an impressive $20 million debut, dethroning The Matrix at the top box office spot, going on to gross $212 million worldwide. It has since gone on to be synonymous with "high profile dud from 1999", but does it really deserve that reputation? Its relative success at the box office aside, Entrapment is unpretentious, silly, and a lot of fun, even if it never lands every shot it makes. And it's hard not to stack it up against the other big budget art heist movie starring a famous James Bond actor from the same year (a thing we do plenty of this episode). Joining John and Julia to talk about it is Jason Christian, a writer and co-host of the podcast Cold War Cinema. Jason is on all the social medias and can be found on Bluesky @jasonachristian.
Unreal Results for Physical Therapists and Athletic Trainers
In this episode of the Unreal Results podcast, I take you inside a case study of ulnar nerve entrapment and hand pain - ME!These symptoms are something I've dealt with in the past, but after doing a lot of hands-on work with clients recently, they flared up again. So I thought this was the perfect opportunity to share my thought process with you of how I would assess and treat this.I walk you through the history of my symptoms, the classic entrapment sites for the ulnar nerve, and why treating the elbow, wrist, or hand first rarely solves the problem. You'll see how the real drivers often trace back to the cranium, first rib, and central nervous system, and why addressing those areas made the biggest impact on my mobility and pain.I also demonstrate practical assessment and treatment strategies you can use right away. From checking carrying angle and pronation to applying simple nerve glides, skin lifts, and manual release strategies.Whether you're working with athletes, clients with upper extremity pain, or even your own nagging symptoms, this episode will give you tools and insights to approach ulnar nerve entrapments with a true whole-body lens.Resources Mentioned In This EpisodeFREE online mini-course, The Missing Link, is now open for enrollment! Jane and Louise Wilson talk to Ben Luke about their influences—from writers to musicians, film-makers and, of course, other artists—and the cultural experiences that have shaped their lives and work. Jane and Louise Wilson, born in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, UK, in 1967, have been collaborating as a duo since their student days in the late 1980s. Identical twins, they have used their connection as a means of exploring duality, mirroring, and the notion of selfhood amid complex geopolitical contexts. Primarily working in video installation, photography and sound, they have accessed loaded and atmospheric sites, from abandoned military sites to borderlands, and used diverse cultural phenomena, including specific works of art, literature and cinema, to reflect on the environments we occupy and the ways in which they are constructed physically and in terms of political and social meaning. They discuss the pronounced sense of duality and mirroring in their work, the origins of their official partnership in art, shaped by their upbringing, and the enduring relationship between photography and film in their practice. They recall the early impact of John Martin's work, and how Cindy Sherman proved a hugely significant inspiration in their student days. They discuss artists as diverse as Victor Pasmore, Rita Donagh, Carrie Mae Weems and Nam June Paik and reflect on the enduring influence of film-makers from Rainer Werner Fassbender to Jean Cocteau and Stanley Kubrick. Plus, they give insight into their life in the studio and answer our usual questions, including the ultimate: what is art for?Jane and Louise Wilson: Performance of Entrapment, London Mithraeum Bloomberg SPACE, until 10 January 2026; Dendrophiles, Leadenhall Building, Sculpture in the City, London, until spring 2026.
