Steve Berry has over 25 million books in print in 40 languages. His first three novels were stand-alone thrillers, The Amber Room, The Romanov Prophecy, and Third Secret. In 2006, he began his tremendously successful Cotton Malone Series with The Templar Legacy, with book number 16, The Kasier's Web having been published in 2021. This is a reboot of their previous attempt, and it looks like the service is learning from its mistakes. The reboot will allow Scribd subscribers to have access to an unlimited catalog of ebooks, audiobooks, magazines and newspapers, and sheet music, for some reason. However, “unlimited” may be a little misleading. After users have pored through a certain, unspecified number of books, they’ll essentially be throttled, and limited to books “unlimited’ reading from a list of pre-determined books. These will include new releases and frontlist books—the sort that people actually want to read on demand, in other words.
