On this episode of Expanded Perspectives, the guys kick things off by discussing the unpredictable temperature swings in central North Texas over the past few weeks before diving into the strange and mysterious. First, two hunters in Kansas experience a once-in-a-lifetime encounter—not one, but two Bigfoot creatures foraging on snails and clams while out deer hunting. Then, a possible Glimmer Man sighting shakes up two witnesses in Crooked Lake, Wisconsin. Meanwhile, in New Hampshire, a man hears multiple unseen entities moving around the forest near his sister's property. What's lurking in the woods, and why? After the break, Cam shares a chilling Arizona ghost story from the spring of 1883. With the men away tending their flocks, two women and their children were left alone in a remote cabin near Eagle Creek. One woman stepped out to fetch water—and never returned. The other, hearing screams and howls, rushed to the window, only to glimpse something so terrifying she could do nothing but pray and barricade the door. When the men came back that night, they discovered a gruesome scene: the woman's body, brutally trampled, with massive hoof prints marking the ground. Witnesses would later describe an eerie figure—towering, red, and ridden by a devil. All this and more on this thrilling installment of Expanded Perspectives Elite! Katie and Michele are back on the road with another haunted episode for you to enjoy. This time we're at The Old Daley on Crooked Lake. The history of this building is unreal. Originally opened in the early 1900's it was a destination for locals and out of towners as well. Teddy Roosevelt actually would spend his Summers in the house before it became the "resort" that it came to be known as. Katie and Michele chat with one of the current owners, Marty, and he gets into all the things that have gone on in the location.

Summers at the Lake is a delightful collection of essays centered around the author's beloved "Little cabin in the Big Woods" beside Crooked Lake in the Upper Peninsula. The humorous and meditative essays, that read like prose poetry, track the progression of the seasons. Stott aims to evoke for readers memories of similar incidents and feelings at other lakes and at other times. Stott, a part-time Yooper, spends extended summers in the solitude of the northern woods where the closest community of Munising is 27 miles away from his cabin. "I am the old hermit of the woods," he said in the podcast interview speaking directly from the Munising School Public library, 500 feet from Lake Superior. In chapter 6 "Day Tripper", Stott takes us on a trip to Grand Marais which looks like a New England seaside village with a year-round population of 300. Stott acts as a knowledgeable and funny tour guide as he writes about "Life in a Pickle Barrel" about the history of the Pickle Barrel House.  Email Stott for a chance to win a signed copy of his new book at jstottuaalberta.ca Special thanks to the Munising School Public Library. Happy Thanksgiving everybody! Welcome to the 2014 Grave Plot Podcast Thanksgiving special. Following last year's mini special review of ThanksKilling, we review the sequel, ThanksKilling 3. Turkie is back on a new rampage with new puppets, powdered wigs, and the Pluck Master 3000. We also reviewed Home Sweet Home, a 1981 slasher film about Body By Jake escaping from a mental institution and runs roughshod through a rag-tag group's Thanksgiving celebration. For our turkey day edition of Horror Business, we tackle the latest on the TV adaptation of Evil Dead. Speaking of Evil Dead, the team behind the remake has a new project called A Man in the Dark. In the latest edition of "They're Remaking That? Really?" we discuss The Wolfman being remade yet again, only four years after the last time. This leads into a conversation about the entire Universal monster reboot scenario and why it's doomed to fail. We then move on to a trio of sequels, including Hocus Pocus 2, The Conjuring 2, and Insidious: Chapter 3. We also discuss the world of video games, namely a movie that dives into the Splatterhouse universe (bit.ly/Splatfilm), as well as the new slasher PC game Last Year (kickstarter.com/projects/lastyear/last-year-5-vs-1-multiplayer-survival-horror). We go on to discuss Eric England's Get The Girl, USA's "Evil Men," and Stephen King's The Talisman. We even make a call to our resident Stephen King expert, SkeleJohn. Speaking of Stephen King, we have an update on The Stand adaptation. We also have updates on Crooked Lake, From Hell, Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, and Krampus. We also tell you about a new Christmas-themed haunted house (chamberofhorrorsny.com/very-scary-xmas/) as well as the new horror game show from Tommy - er, Jason - Blum. We had some technical difficulties towards the end of the episode, we hope that doesn't take away from your enjoyment. So get stuffed from the Grave Plot Podcast.

Our camping trip had to come to a close. We started out in Mudro Lake and had a great time on Lower Basswood River and Crooked Lake. This episode has us portaging out of the bottom of Friday Bay in Crooked Lake and going through a number of lakes including Boot, Fairy, 4 Town, and back into Mudro to finish the trip. Along the way we had a number of portages, one as long as 300 rods. It was a doozie leaving us with tired shoulders and a few mosquito bites. We had hoped to camp right after that portage, but all of the camp sites on Gun Lake were full. So we ended up camping on Fairy lake. That evening we caught a beaver on the shore chowing down on some tree branches and a turtle at the edge of the water. We continued the next day through 4 Town Lake where we saw an immature eagle eating some fish. Our trip finally came to an end back in Mudro. It was a great trip and we hope you enjoyed experiencing it with us through the video.
