Known online as 'Khadija Kimchi'; Khadija is an ethnically Chinese, Canadian-born revert to Islam of 10 years. Her call to Islam began in 2011 as she describes her time up until that point as a life 'left lacking'. In the pen-ultimate year before her conversion she recalls the fruition of the innate questions which reside in all of us such as: What is the meaning of life? What is my higher purpose? (Because this isn't it!) Unaided and unfulfilled in the answer to these questions led her to reckless behaviour under the guise of having fun. Khadija's unwitting search for the truth took an unexpected turn when she witnessed a Muslim praying for the first time. As time passed, Khadija found herself nourished by the fundamental framework of Islam. Consequently, inspiring and admirable qualities such as empathy, understanding and being a beacon of support were given space to blossom. She now provides just that to other sisters through her online platform and community 'The Camellias Bloom Podcast'. Was she always a Muslim? About Khadija: Converted in 2011, that's 10 years ago From Toronto, Canada Currently lives in the Middle East She's a writer, personal trainer and social media influencer Her hobbies and interests include blogging, podcast, painting, crochet and community outreach Loves helping out the community, mainly sisters Khadija currently hosts her own podcast and is creating a community just for new Muslim sisters and convert sisters because it is a much-needed platform where we can have support from one another without judgements and with empathy. This allows sisters to know they are not alone on their journey to Allah. https://thecamelliasbloompodcast.podbean.com/ The Camellias Bloom is a community garden for convert/revert sisters all around the globe to bloom and blossom beautifully into the religion.

Hosted by Crystal Joseph. An inquisitive and sparky young child, Amina spent her childhood in a migrant dense, small region of France. Despite large exposure to the various cultures of the Muslim community, Islam remained a widely misunderstood and disdained concept amongst the non-muslims she knew. As much as she possibly could, Amina tried to get to grips with her own religion. While comfortable with the concept of creationism, gaping holes to some of the biggest questions of our existence and spiritual guidance proved too much for her logic to reconcile. During her adolescence she eagerly seized the opportunity to travel to a nearby city in order to continue with her studies. She embraced Islam there and describes her path of becoming Muslim as she navigated her way through intellectual, cultural, spiritual and emotional struggles while consciously striving to perfect her identity as a Muslim. 20 years later and now living in the United Kingdom, what does she cite as her life's biggest lessons? Hosted by Crystal Joseph. Like many of us examining religion left Michael feeling no closer to the complete truth or any more spiritually guided from before. Finding himself standing on the cusp of all religion entirely. Michael forged forward through adulthood knowing and believing there is a God. However still unable to practically, mentally and logically resolve the best way to live a life conducive to his belief. From an outsiders perspective Islam may look like a set of strict and infinitely nuanced rules. Mysterious or even exclusive. In spite of this Michael recalls how he dived right in simply after declaring 'There is no God except one God' and has never looked back since. So what is the appeal of Islam to the agnostic? Is it really complicated to become a Muslim?

Hosted by Adee Simon Macdowell. Crystal Joseph always grew up knowing God. At a young age (as early as 10 years old) her feelings towards the church changed. She started to follow her gut instinct that it was all wrong. Finally she felt that Christianity was a block between her and her creator. After leaving the church she went through a stage of conforming to society. This included not knowing an answer to the questions of faith and not seeking one either. Going through this she felt drained. Crystal tried Buddhism and meditation while still believing in God. She stated that in England people tend to mix and match and try to make their own answers to questions about God as you go along. She needed something. The turning point for her was at the age of 21, she visited Egypt. She heard the Quran for the first time and felt like this was real life. A visit to Mt Sinai was one of her first spiritual experiences of Islam. At the same time she was learning about the scientific proofs in the Quran. Crystal was getting black and white answers to all her questions. In this episode Crystal also tells us about her workshop named "Surviving and Thriving - My First Year after Shahada". It is a free interactive workshop for reverts to help them through their first year of Islam. She hopes to launch it soon this year. We will keep you posted here for further details.

Hosted by Crystal Joseph. Growing up, Ellen described herself as a practicing Catholic in a fully practicing Catholic family. Much later down the line after 10 years in an inter-faith marriage her curiosity was piqued when she began to notice the differences that came as a product of each lifestyle, in particular, regarding the upbringing of children. Around the same time her husband started to draw closer to his own religion, Islam. Determined not to lose her volition, Ellen decided to follow suite Subsequently Ellen found herself questioning the ideals she devoutly knew to be true. She recalls a specific incident in the Catholic church she experienced upon rejoining. The declaration of faith which she had known by heart since a young child - had changed! Horrified, she set herself upon a learning journey only to be pleasantly surprised each time she challenged her preconceptions about the words of the Quran and the intricacies of Islamic belief. So much so did her new found love and trust for Islam begin to grow. Her husband and her relocated their family to Egypt with the intention of pursuing an Islamic lifestyle and learning Arabic. She is overjoyed to be experiencing connection with God and religion again. Citing this connection and trust as the thing which makes all changes going forward easy, with understanding. Despite her love being overcome with happiness after finding Islam. Her attention has now turned to the fact that Islam has very little representation in the lives of non-Muslims. She has created her own YouTube channel depicting her life's story in detail to provide a relatable, accessible, first hand account of what being a Muslim really is. https://untoislam.com/youtube-ellen
