In this thought-provoking episode of the Parenting Teens with Dr. Cam Podcast, adolescent psychologist sits down with renowned child and adolescent psychiatrist, author of Searching for Normal, to unpack the rising diagnoses of ADHD, anxiety, depression, and autism in teens. Parents today are overwhelmed trying to determine when teenage mood swings, defiance, anxiety, and emotional outbursts are “normal” and when they signal something more serious. Dr. Timimi challenges the growing trend of pathologizing ordinary adolescent behavior and explains why over-labeling teens may actually hurt resilience, confidence, and emotional growth. If you're worried about your teen's mental health, struggling with constant conflict, or wondering whether therapy, medication, or diagnosis is the right next step, this episode offers a refreshing and deeply practical perspective. Learn how to support your teen without overreacting, how to identify true mental health red flags, and why strengthening your relationship with your teen may be more powerful than trying to “fix” them. WHAT YOU'LL LEARN IN THIS EPISODE How to tell the difference between normal teenage behavior and serious mental health concerns Why anxiety, moodiness, and teen defiance are often part of healthy adolescent development The hidden dangers of over-diagnosing ADHD, anxiety, and depression in teenagers How parents can build resilient, emotionally healthy teens without overprotecting or over-controlling

Local Joyce Kolk joins us to explain what's going on.

Most of us here at Fratello love vintage watches, but not all of us are comfortable buying and wearing them. Do you wear it, or do you spare it? Damaging a vintage watch can be expensive, but it might also just feel wrong to wear it daily. Can it withstand today's abuse? Is it still water resistant enough? How about shocks? In this week's installment of Fratello Talks, RJ, Max, and Daan discuss whether they wear or spare their (neo-)vintage watches.

Because it was never just about how much you eat. It's about where that fiber is actually fermenting in your colon. Dr. Karan Rajan is a surgeon, gut health expert, and one of the most followed doctors on the internet. He spent years operating on colon cancers and bowel disease before realizing the most powerful thing he could do was hand people the information they were never given. In this conversation he breaks down the gut in a way that will make you want to reorganize your entire kitchen by the time it's over. In this episode, you'll discover: • Why the old soluble vs insoluble fiber model is outdated and what fermentation geography actually means — and how eating only one type of fiber can cause gas and bloating even when you're hitting your daily target • Why the protein obsession sweeping wellness culture may be quietly turning your gut bacteria into gremlins, and what happens when your microbes run out of fiber to eat • How your microbiome can begin to change within 48 hours of increasing fiber intake, and the exact ramp up strategy Dr. Karan uses to avoid the gas and bloating that makes most people quit If you have a gut, this episode is for you. What if the thing holding your OT business back isn't strategy… but ego? Not the loud, arrogant kind. The quieter version that disguises itself as perfectionism, overthinking, “being ethical”, or constantly waiting until you feel ready. In this episode of OT Yourself to Freedom Podcast, Beki Eakins explores the hidden ways ego keeps occupational therapists stuck, invisible, and afraid to fully show up online. For this episode, let's revisit a Case Interview & Management Consulting classic where we speak about resume cliches across firms. Editing out cliches from Deloitte and Accenture resumes tends to take up the majority of time when we work with candidates from these firms, and the other accounting firms like PWC, E&Y and KPMG. Typically, when we start the editing sessions, it is very difficult for the client to see how vague and misleading their resume really is. This podcast explains this concept and can be used to edit your own resume. You don't have a people problem. You have a labeling problem. Someone misses a deadline… "procrastinator." Pushes back in a meeting… "difficult." Quiet on a call… "disengaged." Feels accurate. Feels efficient. It's also probably wrong. In this episode of Thoughts Unlocked, I break down how these labels are quietly damaging trust and leading you to solve the wrong problems. Because a label isn't an explanation. It's the end of curiosity. If you've ever felt frustrated with your team and nothing seems to change, this might be the reason why. A neuroscientist just told Congress that classroom technology is a "failed pedagogical experiment" — and the clip went viral. But is he right? In episode 244, Josh and Will dig into Dr. Horvath's Senate Commerce Committee testimony, where he argued that Gen Z is the first generation to be less cognitively capable than their parents — and that decades of EdTech investment may be largely to blame. $30 million in laptops and tablets. 20,000+ studies reviewed. And a conclusion that's making educators, parents, and tech advocates seriously uncomfortable. We're not just reading the headlines here. We push back on the methodology, question what the research is actually measuring, and talk honestly about where we think Horvath's got it right — and where the narrative is getting away from him.--♣️Want to become a HiTech Club member, support the pod, and get all of the extras on our episodes? In this must listen episode, we sit down with Australia's leading liver expert Professor Jacob George to talk about one of the body's most important — and most overlooked — organs: the liver. This miracle organ keeps us alive. It filters, processes, stores, regulates, and protects us, yet most of us know very little about it until something goes wrong. Today that changes. We discuss the basics of the liver along with why fatty liver is now so common, how it links to insulin resistance, visceral fat, menopause, and metabolic disease, and why liver disease can develop silently for years. Professor George explains why liver health matters far beyond alcohol, and how it connects to blood sugar, cholesterol, hormones, inflammation, and long-term disease risk. The good news? The liver can recover if we get in early. We also cover the key tests to know, what can be missed, and the simple lifestyle changes that can help restore liver health and change your future trajectory. Please share this episode with those who need to hear it. If we want to live 120 healthy years we must make better choices for the liver. Join The Aging Project

What if increasing tax revenue is actually hurting society more than helping it?In this episode of the Know Your Numbers REI Podcast, Chris McCormack dives into a controversial topic: sports gambling legalization and its connection to tax policy. We break down not just the financial impact, but the cultural, mental, emotional, and societal consequences of expanding legalized gambling. In this episode, you'll discover:• Why governments push for gambling legalization through taxation• The real reason tax revenue shouldn't be the main driver of policy• How gambling affects young men and future generations• The connection between money, culture, and moral decision-making• Shocking statistics on gambling addiction and behavior• Why “more revenue” doesn't always mean a better societyIf you want content that goes beyond surface-level finance and dives into real-world impact, make sure to like, follow, and share your thoughts in the comments.••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••Article: https://taxfoundation.org/research/all/state/expanded-legalization-sports-betting-tax-revenue/••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••➤➤➤ To become a client, schedule a call with our team➤➤ https://www.betterbooksaccounting.co/contact••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••Connect with Chris McCormack on Social MediaFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/chrismccormackcpaLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/chrismccormackcpaInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/chrismccormackcpaJoin our Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/6384369318328034→ → → SUBSCRIBE TO BETTER BOOKS' YOUTUBE CHANNEL NOW ← ← ← https://www.youtube.com/@chrismccormackcpaThe Know Your Numbers REI podcast is for general information purposes only and is not intended to provide, and should not be relied on for, tax, legal, or accounting advice. In this Medium episode, Emotional Intelligence expert Jess Cameron and I unpack one of the most damaging beliefs many of us inherited - that emotions make you weak. For generations, men were taught that strength meant suppressing emotion. If you want to succeed, don't show vulnerability. For women, the messaging shifted but carried the same undertone - if you want to be taken seriously in leadership, don't be emotional. Over time, both men and women learned to suppress emotions rather than regulate them.Jess breaks down the critical difference between emotional expression and emotional control. Emotional regulation is not about becoming less emotional. It is about building self-awareness, understanding your emotional triggers, and choosing how you respond instead of reacting from habit. When we are taught to ignore or suppress feelings, we never develop the skills to manage them. And suppressed emotions don't disappear - they surface in stress, conflict, burnout and relationship breakdown. We also explore modern relationship dynamics, including: • Emotional suppression in men • The desire for emotional depth in women • Masculine and feminine energy in relationships • Creating emotionally safe spaces for vulnerability • Why emotional intelligence is essential for healthy communicationThis episode highlights the growing tension in modern relationships — women asking for emotional availability while many men were never taught how to access or express it. We discuss how emotional safety transforms intimacy, leadership, and connection. At its core, this conversation is about redefining emotional strength. Emotional resilience is not the absence of feeling — it is the ability to feel fully without being ruled by your emotions. If you want to build emotional intelligence, improve communication in relationships, and understand how emotional regulation impacts leadership, parenting and personal growth, this episode offers practical insight and perspective.Inside this podcast:- Why both men and women were taught emotions are weakness- The difference between suppression and regulation- How emotional avoidance damages intimacy- The role of safe space in vulnerability- Why emotional strength means feeling fullyConnect with Jess:Instagram → https://bit.ly/3ZGbKMv Website → jesscameron.com Connect with Steve:Instagram → https://bit.ly/3KARQhR LinkedIn → https://bit.ly/48sw8Vj Episode Highlights00:00:00 - Every relationship is unique and tools must fit context00:01:30 - Creating space for real human connection00:02:30 - Families drifting into separate worlds00:03:10 - The power of structured check ins00:04:00 - Listening without fixing or defending00:05:00 - Logistics versus emotional intimacy00:06:00 - Feeling like a team again00:07:00 - Why intimacy changes the emotional atmosphere00:10:00 - Conflict as a feature, not a flaw00:11:00 - Avoidant attachment and retreating from feedback00:12:00 - Self compassion as the foundation of repair00:13:00 - Children absorbing the emotional tone of parents00:13:50 - Repairing faster and breaking cyclesABOUT THE PODCAST SHOWThe Noise of Life is a podcast that shares real stories, raw truths, and remarkable growth. FBI Search of Fulton County, Georgia Election Office The FBI executed a court-authorized search warrant at the Fulton County Election Hub related to the 2020 presidential election. The action is evidence that past claims of election fraud—particularly those advanced by Donald Trump—are finally being taken seriously. Judicial approval of the warrant is proof of legitimacy. Seizure of ballots, computers, phones, and election records. Allegations that early votes were improperly certified without required signatures. The dismissal of the prior state-level prosecution against Trump in Georgia as vindication. Assertion of Broader Election Manipulation Concerns Foreign interference, specifically claiming that Mexican consulates worked to influence U.S. elections via immigration and cultural influence.
