What It's All About: I choose the above picture because Activism is more than just Black Lives Matter or against Racism. In fact Paganism and Activism go hand in hand. How you might ask? Well the root word for Pagan is from the country side. That means that we worship the earth. Otherwise, we are tree huggers. I don't think that I have ever hugged a tree, but I touched one that communicated with me in a strange way. We don't just want to save the environment, but we also want to protect all the wild animals that live in the forest, the sea or the dessert. I'm an animal lover myself. But Pagan Activism is not limited to the Environment, Animal Rights, or getting rid of White Supremacists. There are feminists, some of Dianic, who are still fighting for women's rights. There are LGBTQ Pagans who are still fighting their own battles for their rights. The Spirit Guide of the Week is Medusa and the Dream Symbol is Animals. Songs Feature: 1. Earth Warrior by Omnia 2. City Magick by Chalice and Blade 4.Medusa by Heather Dale 5.Anarchy in the U.K. by Damh the Bard 6.Blessings of the Animals by Lisa Thiel 7.Hap ’n’ Frog by Heather Alexander 8. In this episode we meet the problematic powerhouse behind Dianic Wicca, Z Budapest, and Amy explores her own Hungarianness through this witch's story. Warning: We discovered during our research that Z Budapest has been labeled and embraced the label of TERF - for those of you not familiar with this acronym, it stands for Trans Exclusive Radical Feminist. We at Missing Witches are not that. INclusivity is our mandate and our guiding principle, so we were a bit shook by this discovery. After some discussion, we realized we had three choices: we could ditch the episode, we could go ahead with the story but sweep that stuff under the rug, OR we could use this platform to respectfully disagree and tell this story as a way to start a conversation not just about Gender but ALSO about what we do when we find rot amid the ancestors’ bones we’ve been collecting. In the spirit of Safe Spaces of all kinds, we want to make Missing Witches as safe as we can - a place where we can talk about issues from a core ethic of radical compassion. Where it’s safe to ask questions, make mistakes, or respectfully disagree. Learn. Grow. Change our minds. Recognize how experience shapes point of view. We want to name and shame the failings of our ancestors but retain the ability to separate the toxic from the healing. Our goal is learn from their missteps, why they happen, and do better, without throwing away the valuable lessons they have to teach. As Layla Saad wrote, “the loftier goal, is to help us to become better ancestors for those who will come after us.” And as Michelle the Birch Trail taught us: Call in before you call out. So this is us, Z. Calling in. http://www.missingwitches.com/2019/04/20/missing-witches---z-budapest:-she-is-not-perfect-and-neither-are-we

In this episode, recorded after the multi-faith traditions panel at The Fellowship of Affirming Ministries Convocation, we talk to Queen Mother about syncretism and the way that spirit works in the world. She describes the traditions that she belongs to and how they work together for her. We discuss the responsibilities of priests, aspects of initiation, and how magick, and the gospel, is a tool of spirit that can be used for both good and ill.  We also discuss her role at City of Refuge and how she relates to Jesus. What can both traditions learn from each other and how do we navigate the misinformation and misconceptions of each?   This episode was recorded on location at City of Refuge UCC during The Fellowship of Affirming Ministries Convocation on July 17, 2015.    Oloya Adedapoidle Tyehimba-Ford carries the title of MaShiAat (Queen Mother), and is co-founder and presiding Queen Mother and Spiritual Leader of the Temples and Kemetic Spiritual organization: The Kindred of ShiEndra and its conglomeration of affiliated Temples. MaShiAat Oloya is an ordained Kemetic Priest, an Iyanifa in the Ifa tradition and an Ordained High Priestess within the original Dianic lineage of the Wiccan Goddess/Great Mother tradition. She is also a Holistic and Spiritual Practitioner and Midwife, holding numerous degrees and certifications in nursing, Iridology, Esthetics, indigenous and complementary healing. She is co-founder of the Kephra Holistic Institute and co-creator of the Kephric Transformational Platform both dedicated to the concepts of complete wellness through holistic, indigenous, and naturopathic modalities. MaShiAat Oloya lectures and facilitates workshops with many local and national community activists and spiritual leaders. She is often considered a bridge between mainstream religious churches and indigenous spirituality, making it a personal crusade to dispel myths, expose the truth and similarities between the philosophies of these religious groups with the intent to build understanding, respect and unity among the people as a whole.   Links Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/mashiaat Website: http://www.ancestoralley.com/
