The witches are calling upon the divine in this episode of Back on the Broomstick as Laylla and Chelle share ten (give or take) of the gods and goddesses they work with in their magical practice. From the cauldron-stirring wisdom of Ceridwen to the hearty laughter and boundless generosity of The Dagda, they discuss the deities that have shaped their paths, guided their spells, and occasionally smacked them upside the head with a life lesson or two. And in a shocking twist that will surprise absolutely no one, Chelle will, of course, have Hecate on the list. The witches also take a moment to talk about the Blood Moon that graced the skies on March 14th, bringing with it a transformative energy perfect for removing obstacles from your path and maybe a little bit of bringing justice to light. What did this lunar powerhouse mean for the witches, and can you still tap into the full moon energy even after it's passed?Whether you already have deities you work with or are just starting to feel the pull of divine magic, this episode is a mix of history, personal stories, and a whole lot of witchy laughter. Grab your grimoire, pour one out for the gods, and join Laylla and Chelle for a divine discussion filled with magic, mischief, and a little moonlit madness.Song: Ceridwen and Taliesin by Damh the BardCerridwen by Kristopher HughesThe Horned God of the Witches by MankeyGot a question? Damh the Bard has been on Stirring the Cauldron many times over the years, talking about his music, his many albums the Mabinogi series of albums, and more but the one thing that we've overlooked was that integral part of music making, and that is his instruments. If you've ever seen Damh live, you can see the deep connection between he and his musical family. There is a personality and story attached to each one of them, so listen in and meet some of the musical members, hear the backstories, and be able to listen live to the lovely sounds that they have to offer..
In this episode, I'm talking all about Beltane and how it's celebrated all around the world. This fire festival occurs on the halfway mark between the spring equinox and summer solstice. It is often considered the beginning of summer and a time for magic. Listen as I talk about some of my favorite correspondences and some rituals for self-love. In this week's segment of The Witch Is In I answer a question related to my herbal practices and keeping my family healthy. In this episode I mention the song Green and Gray by Damh the Bard. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S9sX1_8DUCw Join my VIP list at witchlifeacademy.lilithamberly.com/resources Get full access to Witch Life with Lilith Amberly at lilithamberly.substack.com/subscribe

And so the Wheel has spun full circle! Welcome to our last episode of Season 1, folks! For the next turn of the Wheel, we're concentrating on magic and witchcraft that can be performed around each of the Sabbats. For this episode, we concentrate on Samhain (with a smidge of Bel-tân (and all the other spellings of that Sabbat
It's the season of the witch and there is no holiday that reminds people of ghosts, goblins and witches than Halloween. But while the mundane world goes trick or treating and dressing up on costume, witches celebrate this season with their own holiday, that falls on October 31st and that is Samhaim, the witch's New Year. It's time for new beginnings, contacting those on the other side, revering our ancestors and honoring those who have gone before us. In this encore episode, singer, songwriter and Druid, Damh the Bard talks about this most important Sabbat on the witch's Wheel of the Year.

Welcome back to Hoof and Horn - A Witch's Podast! *** In this episode, Braxis, Samuel and Tamrha talk about the history of Winter Solstice celebrations in European cultures including Saturnalia, Juul, Alban Arthan, St. Lucia's Day, and the Moltron Festival - and in non-European cultures including Dongzhi, Shab-e Yalda, Santo Thomas festival and Soyal. *** Later, the trio discuss ways modern Witches and Pagans can celebrate the Sabbat as well as the ephemera of the holiday, such as trees, ornaments, lights, the Yule log and why Witches and Pagans should really stop saying that Christians stole Pagan customs for the Christmas holiday. *** Music in this episode by Sharon Knight and T. Thorn Coyle, and Damh the Bard. It's Finally Porch Time Again.. Episode Airs Sunday 11-14-21 7pm EST The gals are sitting on the porch! It's a beautiful fall day & you can hear the windchimes as well as the quiet satisfaction in their voices as they finally sit in a couple of rocking chairs in each other's company. Alicia is beginning to suspect that Byron "has a problem" with going to grocery stores. Alicia states that she learns more about folks at their funeral & that was all it took to get the stories started... Wintley Phipp-performances also include voice over work (or voice acting) with Breathe Bible. On July 27, 2020, he sang an emotionally-charged version of "Amazing Grace" as Rep. John Lewis lay in state in the US Capitol in Washington, DC, and sang "How Great Thou Art" at Colin Powell's funeral on November 5, 2021. https://www.youtube.com/watch? v=uTYA8Z6SYac Choir of four praised for powerful and moving performance at Prince Philip's funeral https://royalcentral.co.uk/uk/philip/choir -of-four-praised-for-powerful-and-moving- performance-at-prince-philips-funeral- 158750/ The Jubilate Prince Philip Funeral Choir Sings https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=10IwVHI- t_U Food-banana pudding, spice cake with boiled icing (recipe below) Damh the Bard https://www.paganmusic.co.uk/ Janis Joplin - Me and Bobby McGee https://www.youtube.com/watch? v=OTHRg_iSWzM American Tune -Paul Simon https://www.youtube.com/watch? v=0OEWBq_jzuA Removing the sign at the old Interstate Motel https://www.youtube.com/watch? v=MWq3x__B1o4 Spice Cake ©2003 Jeannie Sherwood Cream together: 1/2 cup shortening 1 tbsp. molasses 1 1/2 cups sugar Add: 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. cloves 1/8 tsp. nutmeg 1 tsp. vanilla Beat in: 2 eggs Alternately add: 1 cup of milk and 2 1/2 cups of Sifted Cake Flour Stir in by hand: 1 tbsp. double acting baking powder Pour into well prepared 9" round pans. or One 9x13 Bake in a preheated 375º oven for 25 minutes or until tester shows done. Rest on racks for 15 minutes, remove and allow to cool completely before icing. Boiled Icing ©2003 Jeannie Sherwood Mix together the following ingredients in a heavy guage saucepan or double boiler: 1 cup dark brown sugar 1/8 tsp. salt 1/2 cup of heavy half n' half 3 tbsp. butter 1 1/2 tbsp. light corn syrup Mix all the following together and allow to come slowly to a boil; boil for one minute. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly. Optional addition: 1 tbsp. instant coffee crystals Stir in: 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla With hand mixer beat in: 1-2 cups sifted confectioners sugar. You decide the consistancy you desire. For instance, if I'm making a 9x13 cake that is staying put in the pan I don't mind if the icing is a bit runny. If I'm making the 9" rounds I like it stiffer. #WyrdMountainGals #ByronBallard #WhatWitchesLookLike #porchLife #DigitalWitchery

In the fields, John Barleycorn, who laid with the Lady in the woods at Beltane, has grown old, and now stands bent and bearded with a crooked cane. He looks to the Sun as he has changed from green to gold, and he knew that his time has come. His life will feed the people, and it is this sacrifice that we honour at Lughnasadh. The Three Witches and a Druid sit around the Zoom table with hot beverages and Brian's second favourite Celtic Fire Festival Lughnasadh! Witches, when we cast and conjure, we know we have to adapt and shift and integrate our practices with the land we find ourselves blessed to walk upon. But how do we translate a very Northern Hemisphere tradition, like druidry, into the Australian context? Druid Julie Brett takes us on a journey into druidry’s heart, shares how it can be practised with integrity and respect for indigenous peoples, and why it can lead us deeper into a love and appreciation of Country - the power and song of the land, sea and sky. Julie and Lucy dig deep, ask the tricky questions, ponder and share from the soul in this beautiful episode full of appreciation for the sacred land of old we are blessed to call home this lifetime. With music by Spiral Dance and Damh the Bard, this episode is a celebration of druidry down under. With thanks to Shayne the Production Wizard, the sponsors - Kohli Tea (they have ten new blends!) Welcome Witches and Blessed Be. This episode sees Lucy cutting the cords of the mundane to join you in the sonic sacred circle, In which she explores new TV full of supernatural wonders and steam punk (yes, it’s still a thing) chic, a movie about a coven of witchy (maybe) sisters in the Basque territory of 1609, and a very unfortunate case of Satanic Panic hitting her small valley. She answers your questions, including one beauty about what, exactly and precisely, is the lifting of the veil that we refer to in Witchcraft? Lucy gives it her best shot and ends up somewhere betwixt and between the mystic, the neurological and dimensional physics - but it does all end up making sense, witches promise! There’s a letter from a listener who shares their musical journey through the Tarot, and Lucy offers a witchy solution to solving the age-old problem of end-of-pandemic ennnui. There is a very deep dive into the subtle, yet life-changing powers of the mermaid’s crystal - aquamarine - including its ability to help you clarify your focus and intentions. Including mystical, heart-healing music by Damh the Bard, Lost for Words and Swandy this magicjal episode is full of creativity, compassion, insights, healing, and laughter. As always kisses and hugs and heartfelt gratitude to the Patreon Angels who make this podcast at all possible, to Shayne Brian for being The Wizard of Sound and the High Priest of Production, and to the precious sponsors who support the show each episode - Blue Angel Publishing, Kohli Tea, and Primal Healing. And if you would like to support the Witchcast, please consider pledging to Patreon, becoming a sponsor, or leaving a rating or review wherever you listen. Happy resurrection egg time, witches! Grab yourself some chocolate bunnies or bilbies and join the sacred sonic circle as Lucy dissects the online war that broke out around Starhawk, a legend of Witchcraft who deserved way way better. This is important stuff, as its about how we treat our Witchcraft elders - and it needs to get much, much better. Learn about the new sacred sites discovered after the summer of fire (and why we will never go there) and discover the Irish Farmer who works with the faeries to heal the land. In the Cauldron there are some very juicy questions answered, including the meaning of dreams when your hands are covered in indigo, and Lucy shares really simple and super powerful ways to improve your second sight - worthwhile for anyone who wants to see auric fields or their own personal visions with a LOT more clarity. Song are the joyous classic Spirit in the Sky by Norman Greenbaum, Oh Golden Grain by Wendy Rule, and Damh the Bard’s Pagan Ways.Production by The Wizard, aka Shayne Brian. Add invaluable support by the bevy of Angeiic magickal beings at Lucy’s Patreon page, and three divine sponsors and that is why we have The Witchcast… If you want to support the show, please do leave a rating or a review and don’t forget to subscribe. Merry Meet Again! We are back, and there's so much to share! Enter the Circle and get comfy, Witches, as we enter magickal season three of the Witchcast. Lucy discusses the healing power of listening and sharing, tackles some tricky esoteric questions about how we treat our physical selves and the power of being body positive, and shares how she stays grounded when compelling false narratives sweep through the spiritual communities. Lucy's been book-witching throughout the southern hemisphere summer so she shares her fave enchanting books from solstice season, wonders why she couldn't get through The Winx Saga, gets excited about a movie based on Sutton Hoo and old-school archeology, and delves into the legendary Paris fashion house who's based their latest collection around an arcane 15th century Tarot. Aaand there's a very ah-ha moment kind of story for Witches who've been paying attention to how the moon influences their sleep patterns – because yes, science is playing catch up – and the studies read like a magickal manuscript. Gorgeous pagan music this episode: Black Snake by Wendy Rule from the album Black Snake; Lughnasad by Damh the Bard from the album Herne's Apprenctice, and Into the Green by Spiral Dance from the Woman of the Earth album. So much love to all the Lucy Cavendish Patreon supporters, to all the lovely listeners who've written in, and to Producer Shayne for making Lucy's kitchen sound like a recording studio! And thankyou to all the Witchcast sponsors – Naomi Manouge at Primal Healing, Blue Angel Publishing, Kohli Tea (having a cuppa right now) and if you would like to become a sponsor of the Witchcast, just head to Lucy's Patreon page to see how to make this happen! Blessings of Love and Magick to you all! We are approaching the Summer and Winter Solstice - and apart from a whole lot of energy happening (and maybe, just maybe, a beautiful possibility called hope rebirthing). To help you get through the holiday season, Lucy answers some questions about Christmas and families and how to give yourself the energy you may need to get through what can be a challenging time for lots of magickal folks. Then she reports on the energy-changing potential of the tunnel burrowing under Stonehenge's ancient sacred site, brings you a cauldron full of witchy news, answers questions about casting spells on family members (yikes!) and much more. Enjoy enchanting pagan music from the wonderful Laura Daligan, David Pendragon and Damh the Bard - including a song-story on Ceridwen and Taliesin in true Bardic style. The Oracle of the Hidden Worlds comes out to support and share with listeners who've requested a reading, and Lucy offers up a message of self-love for YOU. Blessed Be, and take care during this emotional, heart-opening, strange time, beautiful soul. )O( Gratitude and love to all the amazing Patreon supporters of the Witchcast - THANKYOU from my Witchy heart to yours! Need some beauty and magick within your life? Lucy travels through the wonder-filled marvel that is Song of the Sea, an Irish animated film that YOU MUST SEE. It is rich with folklore, ancient spirits of the land, selkies of the sea, and very modern-day sibling rivalry. It may be one of the most beautiful films ever made, and its power lies in its moving reworking of an ancient myth, its visual rapture, and its soul-filling music. After shedding a tear or two, Lucy speaks with friend and author of the bewitching series Into the Mists and the faerytale novella,The Swan Maiden, Serene Conneeley. Serene and Lucy wonder out loud about sacred sites, why stories matter so deeply to our souls, faerytales and initiation, and share their tips on how to create your dreams, despite life's challenges! Serene has made a very special and very generous offer to listeners - see below for all the details! There's a cauldron overflowing with watery songs of the ocean and her enchantments, and an in-depth dive into the wonder, and very real healing potential of dolphins - friend of mermaids, selkies, and all humans who feel the call of the ocean. There is so much enchanted work to do, Witches! There has been a prolonged period of tension for so many of us, and sometimes this can lead to a myriad of challenges. Lucy tackles your questions on well-meant but woeful witchy advice, grounding when we feel disembodied, and quieting the voices of our inner critics. She looks into an ancient curse a modern woman may have brought back from Pompeii, along with the artefacts she stole, the exciting exhibits at a Salem Museum, and how befriending trees can help us during natural disasters - one couple's story of a tree's magickal protection will amaze you. Lucy turns the cards for listeners, and shares about…well, sharing, and how it can help us all. Beautiful NEW pagan music by the divine S.J Tucker is a musical highlight, and vibration-shifting songs from Damh the Bard make this episode of the Witchcast a beautiful, calming, soulful experience. Voodoo, Orishas, and African spirituality - Lucy interviews Voudou practitioner Lilith Dorsey on the many myths of this wild and powerful path - discover the origins of voodoo dolls (it's not what you think) and so much more as the best selling author shares their deeply personal stories with the Witchcast listeners. It's a great, transformative conversation filled with Lilith's wisdom and words of power. Then, Lucy goes beneath the surface of Anne Rice's Interview with the Vampire, and gives you the backstory on the grief and addiction that inspired the classic modern gothic novel and film. Lucy delves into vampiric energies, redemption, telepathy, women's roles and so much more…and finally, the healing powers and messages of the sea are explored through an encounter with a seahorse. Find out what they mean in cultures across the world, and why their energy is more significant now than ever before. Blessed be, and welcome to the sonic circle that is the Witchcast, friend - join Lucy for an episode that takes on some tricky questions Witches face - like whether Lightworker is a word we'd use to describe ourselves? What happens when we claim we only walk the path of Light? Are we in witchy denial? Lucy checks out the partly terrible, partly terrific trailer for the Craft: Legacy, and remains kinda sorta maybe hopeful about it, answers questions from listeners about working with artists when creating Oracle decks, and gets very excited about the forthcoming film The Witch of Kings Cross. This docu-drama is all about the true-life legend that is Rosaleen Norton and her daring, wild life as a witch and artist in 1950s and 60s bohemian Sydney. It's a story that had to be filmed! Finally, Lucy reads for you using the Blessed Be deck - a deck based upon the Old Ways, and the Celtic practise of offering blessings to ourselves, and to others. Wonderful Pagan music is by Laura Daligan, and Damh the Bard - Lucy could not get Waterfall out of her head for days, so now it can live in your head too! Waterfall by Laura Daligan from her EP, Between the Worlds. Imramma (A Soul Quest) by Damh the Bard from his album The Cauldron Born. Song of Awen by Damh the Bard from his album Herne's Apprentice. Welcome to a very high vibrational episode, Witches! In which Lucy reveals her kinda surprising top ten Ghost Movies, films that may be a little neglected, yet filled with real-life counterparts and more than a little haunting. The Witchcast meets the very earthy Australian Medium Charmaine Wilson, a woman with uncanny gifts and powers, coupled with the blessings of compassion and insight, as well as being the most down to earth and grounded spirit talker around. Charmaine really is very open and warm and shares so much of her own story - alcohol, loss, drugs, death, grief, and the discovery of her singular and very rare talent. And join Lucy as she digs around in the magickal herb garden to unearth the ingredients that make up the Traditional Witches Flying Ointment - and comes up with a recipe that is a lot more user-friendly than some of the ones our ancestors worked with! Enjoy Pagan songs by Damh the Bard and S.J Tucker, and as always so many thanks to Nordic Daughter for their song We Are One, used in the Witchcast intro and outro. And big love to all the Patreon Supporters who help keep making this show happen! Songs: The Pipes of Pan, by Damh the Bard from his album Herne's Apprentice For Love of all Who Gather Here by S.J. Blessings, friends! It is the turning of the Wheel once again and we arrive at Ostara in the Southern Hemisphere and all that the Spring Equinox brings to us in the lengthening of the Light. And if you are in the North of the world, the Autumnal Equinox of Mabon sees the descent, or the fall, into the Darker time beginning. Introspection and insight, blossom and rebirth, all are sacred on the Witches wheel. Lucy explores a neanderthal bone flute made from a cave bear bone - you can hear its haunting sound during the show - shares how to get a spiritual book or card deck published, discusses a tricky side of Pagan parenting - what to do when your child's Tarot cards get confiscated at school… The Witchcast celebrates a Yuin artists' ancestral Dreaming entry into the Louvre, wonders whether the Scottish Witches murdered during the hatred of the Witch Trials will finally get an official pardon (a lawyer thinks they should and is leading the crusade) and reads the cards for you working with the amazing and very beautiful Oracle of the Hidden Worlds, with stunning art by the talented Gilbert Williams. It's a show rich with music as always - Damh the Bard and Wendy Rule take us through the blessings of Mabon and Ostara with sacred song. Shivers down a Witchy spine! When was the last time a movie really scared you? Lucy found the Witchfinder General, a cult classic of folk horror, one of the most chilling filmic experiences she's had. Not because it's gory, or even particularly "horrifying" - but because it's based on the real-life witch hunts of Witchfinder General of England, Matthew Hopkins - one of the villains of the Burning Times. It is a great film, and so worth seeing, but it still has the ability to get right under a Witches skin…. On an enchanted note, Adrienne Piggot, the talented lead singer of legendary pagan band, Spiral Dance joins the Witchcast to chat to Lucy about Awen, the Old Ways and how she found her heart's path in Druidry. And who knew that the famous Four Thieves Oil has its origins in the plague pandemic of the 1600s - Lucy delves into its history, and shares how you can make your own version of this renowned remedy… Songs are by Spiral Dance because, well, we love them! The Children of Lir, by Spiral Dance, from Land and Legend Spirit of Albion/Wooden Box from Through a Sylvan Doorway - and Damh the Bard appears on this track! King Orfeo, from Land and Legend…a rather bewitching album by Spiral Dance. The intro music is "We Are One" by the band Nordic Daughter. Bright blessings for a glorious Turning of the Wheel to you all. In this episode Lucy answers questions about how we can evolve the language of Witchcraft, shares news about sex magick, the Dark Goddess and The Craft reboot; offers readings with the Oracle of the Shapeshifters and reveals why Witches embrace the unique energy and power of the Crone - and how we can all benefit from making friends with age, letting our children fly free, and change.
