After a small delay, OCTOBER RUST pt. 2 is finally here! We give our track-by-track analysis, which essentially amounts to a whole lot of breathless praise and gushing, talk about why we think Josh and Kenny do not get enough recognition, discuss the signature production style employed on the record, and Jeff talks about the best song to eulogize Peter with (can you guess), causing Jesse to get misty-eyed in the process. -Elsewhere, we consider what acts we would have liked to see cover Type O, talk about the somewhat controversial signature production style of the album, delve into the Pagan themes in the lyrics, make a quick pit stop in Movie Corner, and play a clip from a new PBS documentary from Ken Burns, THE TINDER WAR. -OCTOBER RUST pt. 3 is already in the can and will be dropping in just a couple of days. We went way long on this one, and figuring no one wanted to listen to us yap for 2.5 hours straight, decided to split this one down the middle - this episode covers everything up to Die With Me, with all subsequent tracks on the next episode. Sorry again for the delay, see you all in a couple days!

Vi metto tutti i link per queste cose fantastiche dell'artista nelle note del programma e vi invito a curiosare.TRANSLATIONBeing left with the mobile without battery is one of the nightmares of modern life. This is why I was surprised when I stumbled upon an app called Die With Me, a rather macabre title. It's a purchasable app that lets you use your phone to chat only when there's less than 5% battery left. The app comes with a very dramatic video, with dramatic music. I stumbled upon it and I asked myself, what is an app like this for? Then I realized, doing a bit of research, that this app is another brilliant idea from a conceptual artist who has a particular interest in technology and all things surveillance. His name is Dries Depoorter, he is a Belgian artist and in fact he created, he built his career as an artist precisely on privacy and interaction with technology. And all of his works are characterized precisely by the use of technology and then by the fact that they can be purchased, and the money naturally goes to the good artist for him. I'll give you some examples of other works of art that he has done from which he also makes money and good for him. There's Quick Fix which is a machine, a vending machine, you know, the very physical, analogue ones, where you put money starting at €1 and you can buy likes on Instagram. It's very nice to watch the video because there's this gigantic box, you put in a 1€ coin, then you have to type your name on Instagram on a keyboard and the likes you've bought arrive immediately. There are also slightly more poetic things like Border Birds, where via connection to a series of public cameras he shows birds crossing state lines, and this of course is a commentary on border crossing. But what gives the title to today's 3 minutes is Short Life. What is it about? It's a little watch that shows how much percentage of life is left to live based on the parameters you put in, I guess, when you buy the watch, so age, gender, lifestyle, etc. It costs $165 and, for anyone who wants a memento mori of their life to keep on their desk, to look at constantly to remind us of our vulnerability, this is an excellent investment. I'll put all the links for these fantastic things by the artist in the program notes and invite you to browse.

Before Gemini Syndrome's show at Dingbatz in Clifton, NJ, J-Bunny sits down with their vocalist Aaron Nordstrom. They discuss how Aaron came to join Gemini Syndrome, the symbolism that the band employs in their albums and imagery, and why the band seems to have a hard time holding onto guitarists. Aaron clears the air about whether or not Gemini Syndrome will be coming to an end after their next album, other projects he may or may not be involved in, and why the song "Abandoned" from Gemini Syndrome's upcoming album 3rd Degree - The Raising is the most personal song he has ever written. They also touch on Aaron's time as the guitarist for Otep, why he does not play guitar live in Gemini Syndrome, and why telling his story of attempted suicide to The You Rock Foundation was important. Podcast intro "Rock Intro 3" courtesy of audionautix.com. "Die With Me" and “Abandoned” appear on Gemini Syndrome's upcoming album 3rd Degree - The Raising which will release on Century Media Records on October 15, 2021. Both songs were included with the permission of Aaron Nordstrom.

Dries Depoorter and David Surprenant discuss their struggle to get Apple to accept the final version of their app, Die With Me, into the App Store because it unintentionally brought attention to Apple's battery problems.
Jesus invited men to follow Him, to learn from Him, to observe and emulate Him. Jesus sent them out to practice what He was teaching them and brought them back together to coach and correct. In this message we learn that Jesus’s invitation to follow is also an invitation to go through all of what He went through – to suffer, to die, to live again, and to receive a reward. To follow Jesus we must die to ourselves, give up control, and allow Him to live through us. Jesus invites you to Die With Me.
