What happens when we begin to notice the energy we are carrying — and gently say hello to it? In this episode of My Love of Life Energy, Anna welcomes Lesley Ames, a psychic medium and animal communicator, for a tender conversation about psychic meditation, animal communication, the unseen, and the ways energy can be named, released, and understood. Lesley shares how psychic meditation helped her build a daily practice, clear energy, and live with more ease. She also speaks about her beloved dog Stanley, whose life and passing opened a deeper doorway into animal communication, love, and the wisdom animals have to share with us. Together, Anna and Lesley explore what a psychic reading can offer, how animal communication can shift a relationship, what it means to listen to nature, and how saying hello to the energy we can't quite name can help us let it go. Lesley describes psychic work as a way of naming energy so it can be seen, acknowledged, and released. To learn more about Lesley Ames, visit: https://www.lesleyames.com/
What happens when the career you dreamed of gives you everything you wanted — except peace? In this episode of My Love of Life Energy, Anna welcomes Annelies Richmond, International Director of SKY Campus Happiness, for a conversation about breathwork, meditation, stress, connection, and the power of transforming our inner world. Annelies shares her journey from professional ballerina at the Metropolitan Opera, where she struggled with intense stage anxiety, to discovering SKY Breath Meditation. Within weeks, she found herself walking onto the stage with a calm she had never experienced before. That inner shift eventually led her to teach the practice and bring it to young people in schools and universities. Together, Anna and Annelies explore the overload of modern life, why stress can leave us feeling disconnected from ourselves and each other, and what becomes possible when the mind begins to settle. Annelies reflects on helping young people reconnect with themselves, feel more comfortable being who they are, and rediscover a natural sense of belonging. Their conversation ultimately returns to something beautifully simple: love. As Annelies shares, when we experience that we are love, we have more love and energy to care for ourselves, each other, and the world around us. Back in 2024, Miles Kane walked into Easy Eye Sound Studio for the first time. The English singer/songwriter & musician reached out and wanted to work with Dan Auerbach, who he would admire his work from afar, but never met him before. When he reached out wanting to see if he was up for doing writing session and Kane thought they would just write a song that he can take back home for an album. As Kane walked into the studio kitchen he remembers seeing two acoustic guitars on the chairs with two notepads. On that first day, they finished three songs including "My Love" and "Love is Cruel" featured on Sunlight in the Shadows. By the end of the day, Dan offered to produce the project and Kane felt this mutual respect straight away and I haven't looked back since. In an interview with WNXP, Kane talks about the process of making Sunlight in the Shadows, covering "Slow Death" by The Flamin' Groovies, working Dan the Automator on his debut record, his collaborative projects with Alex Turner, and drawing inspiration from T-Rex and Wu-Tang Clan. What does it mean to be deeply seen by another human being? In this episode of My Love of Life Energy, Anna welcomes Guy Sengstock, creator of The Circling® Institute, for a profound conversation about presence, relationship, wonder, and the human longing to be truly met. Together, Anna and Guy explore what happens when we slow down enough to receive another person as they are. They speak about the ache of being seen, the mystery of real conversation, the way relationships shape who we become, and why the capacity for wonder may be one of the most important antidotes to disconnection. Guy also shares the deeper intention behind Circling® — not simply as a method, but as a relational practice that helps people listen, notice, and become more present with themselves and one another. Sanjana takes the stand as the self-proclaimed number one age-gap defender, arguing that the trope is really about power, that demanding moral instruction from romance is a fundamentally conservative impulse, and that “reverse age-gap” is not a thing. Then debut novelist Anna Maria Volkova joins to talk about Games, her romance about an economics grad student and a Soviet-born Wall Street banker: why his Russianness specifically matters to the story, the Hollywood villain problem, and what it looks like when a man shaped by political catastrophe becomes romantically persuasive. And: Tyler and Sanjana do a month-in-media check-in that includes both Cancer Ward and Kennedy Ryan. On age gaps: why power is the whole point, when the trope works versus when shock replaces substance, and why the demand for capital-M Moral fiction is more conservative than it sounds. Anna Maria Volkova is the author of Games, a debut romance about desire, grief, and neoliberal capitalism (out June 30). Referenced: Cancer Ward by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn and Heated Rivalry by Rachel Reid. The month in reading: Score and Reel by Kennedy Ryan, Long Island Girls by Gabrielle Korn, Pool House by Mary H.K. After reading Ariana Harwicz's novel, Die, My Love, in his book club, Martin Scorsese sent a copy to Jennifer Lawrence, telling her he imagined her as the main character. The Oscar-winning actor then starred alongside Robert Pattinson in the film adaptation of the novel, directed by Lynne Ramsay. The story follows a young mother struggling with her mental health after the birth of her first child. As a new mother herself, Jennifer decided this was the right project for her to jump back into acting following a break from Hollywood. Back in November, she joined Tom Power to tell him how she mentally prepared for this harrowing role, how she doesn't let her teen fame past define her, and why she stepped away from the spotlight after she started feeling more like a celebrity than an actor.

This week's show lingers on distance, memory, and the quiet ache of things left behind as Emmett Davenport and Lady Attercop guide you down long roads and longer goodbyes. It's a night of wandering hearts, fading signals, and the fragile weight of what remains. WARNING! This show is for adults. We drink cocktails, have potty mouths and, at least, one of us was raised by wolves. The Clockwork Cabaret is a production of Agony Aunt Studios. Featuring that darling DJ Duo, Lady Attercop and Emmett Davenport. Our theme music is made especially for us by Kyle O'Door. This episode aired on Mad Wasp Radio, 04.12.26. New episodes air on Mad Wasp Radio on Sundays @ 12pm GMT! Listen at www.madwaspradio.com or via TuneIn radio app! 670. Sophie White joins us to discuss her book, Voices of the Enslaved: Love, Labor, and Longing in French Louisiana. Sophie also has a companion website, "Voices of the Enslaved: A Digital Humanities Approach to Encountering the Archive." This website is well worth your time. It has an article on the earliest reference to voudou, for example, with primary documents and detailed analysis. In Voices of the Enslaved: Love, Labor, and Longing in French Louisiana, Sophie White uncovers a rare and startling "soundscape" of the 18th century. While most history books treat enslaved people as silent statistics, White mines the meticulously recorded trial records of the Louisiana Superior Council to find something revolutionary: the direct testimony of over 150 men and women. From the defiant words of Marguerite in a New Orleans courtroom to the intimate "maroon" love story of Kenet and Jean-Baptiste, these are not just legal responses — they are "accidental" autobiographies. Through White's lyrical analysis, we move beyond the violence of the plantation and into the interior lives of those who refused to be erased, revealing a world of sophisticated material culture, complex kinship, and an unyielding insistence on their own humanity. Sophie White is a Professor of American Studies at the University of Notre Dame, where she holds concurrent appointments in History, Africana Studies, and Gender Studies. A native of Mauritius, her unique perspective on French colonial legacies and "othering" has made her a premier historian of the Atlantic World. Now available: Liberty in Louisiana: A Comedy. With five more national finals, we've made it to the end of the super Saturdays until 2027, but not without first covering Romania's Selecția Națională, the San Marino Song Contest, Poland's Krajowych Kwalifikacji, Sweden's Melodifestivalen, and Portugal's Festival da Canção. And our beloved Oscar is across the pond this week, so we're instead joined by our Eurovision-obsessed neighbor to the north, Worldvishawn, to talk about what we liked and what we didn't. Jeremy doesn't think one song is all that Bellissima, Shawn finds Portugal to be just a little too chill, and Dimitry revels in the madness that is San Marino. Formed in Yogyakarta, based in Jakarta, Grrl Gang is an Indonesian indie pop band consisting of vocalist/guitarist Angee Sentana, bassist/vocalist Akbar Rumandung, and guitarist/vocalist Edo Alventa. Their newest maxi-single release Online 24/7 is out now via Green Island Music. Angee and Akbar share the origin of the band and how The Stone Roses not only changed Akbar's life but played a role in the formation of the Grrl Gang. Angee tells us why her approach to the new songs is more direct and how their fans influenced this approach. She explains why she wanted to address the subject of femicide on the song O, My Love and why it was important to come from an empathetic perspective. The three discuss touring in Southeast Asia, the “guitarist personality” and we sample a few tunes from Online 24/7. Grrl GangGreen Island MusicThis episode supported by our friends at Izotope. It shall burn out all dross of the mortal mind, smallness of nature, meanness of spirit, vindictiveness, jealousy. It shall burn out all carelessness of your habits, in the outer realms of your being. My Law and My Order can then function perfectly in your life. Then and then only will you be a worthy vessel for the inflow of My Spirit. Then and then only can My Spirit flow through you to other of My children. Likewise shall all disease be burned from the physical body, that nothing shall interfere with My Plan for your life. As the sigh of your spirit disturbs the flame and makes the candle drip, so the faintest wavering of your feet from the path of attainment causes a less steady burning of My Flame in your heart, and My Work goes on in imperfection. Oh, My Beloved, how necessary that you live with the eye single, to the high purpose of your calling. But you have many helpers. No soul who enters the path is left to walk alone. So go on, day by day, with the light and assurance of My Love in your face. Mighty Ones whom you see not, are by your side. And the forces of darkness shall touch you not."-Eva Bell Werber, ‘Quiet Talks the Master'"Dear God, help me to not lose sight of your presence when things are going well."-UnknownSupport the show
