The panel of Dungeon Masters sifts through their minds to see what tasty morsels they may have for you when you'd like to play with Illithids. That's right! The It's A Mimic! podcast finally digs into one of the most popular Dungeons and Dragons villains: Mind Flayers! But as they pick each other's brains about Mind Flayer society, the Elder Brains that run the place, and the super-powered Ulitharids, they have to wade through quite a few icky details. I hope you have some strong mental fortitude, because things are about to get GROSS. (Also, bonus inspiration dice to anyone who counts how many times Dan mispronounces “Ulitharid”.) “When you focus on your own success, you won't get the results you want, you'll get the results you need.” Hard to believe, but apparently, one of us said those wise words! In this day and age, it can be SO hard to STAY IN YOUR OWN LANE. With jealousy, competitiveness, and toxicity literally fueling our society, it can be hard to stay focused on YOU. It can often feel like nobody is truly on your team and nobody wants you to win! But like Shivani says, sometimes, you just gotta wave at the haters! From toxic competition, to the woes of Linkedin, to gatekeeping in academia, to gut feelings, you will learn how to embrace confidence with this pod. Because confidence is free, but you pay a price of jealousy! Podcast Instagram: @callmewheneverpodcast Chinaza's Instagram: @chinazaasiegbu Shivani's Instagram: @vani__shah
I realize that this episode may be challenging to some, and heretical to others. I do not mean to cause discomfort. However, I do want to challenge a prevailing concept among many of my fellow fundamental pastors regarding our attitude toward Scripture. I am afraid we are making statements about the Bible, that the Bible does not make about itself. One of those is that the Bible is all you need. You don't need to read other books about the Bible (Unless it is the one that particular preacher who agrees with me wrote). You don't need to listen to anything outside the Bible that challenges the interpretation of the Bible that we believe to be accurate. You get the idea. In this episode, I just want to open a discussion and offer some food for thought. Please, if you must call me a heretic, doing it lovingly. In this episode we look at top dope songs that share cautionary tales from two sides of the same coin. Men and Women, what can we learn from these well produced jams? Join the Critical Mass squad as we jump into offerings by Jazmine Sullivan and then Thunder Cat.
My good buddy Sean Pastuch made a post on his social media recently that brought up the topic regarding microgyms offering discounts and his stance as to why they shouldn't. Sean and I share similar beliefs on this topic, but there's an element to this whole "Don't Discount!" headline read that I want to make sure you're aware of... It's one thing to prefer not to discount, but to discredit the business strategy associated with them is fucking silly. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/wtfgymtalk/message

On this episode of Broke-ish, Amber and Erika are discussing Black Athletes - the challenges faced at the highly competitive collegiate level, the impact on mental and physical wellness, finances, and of course, the increasing social and political activism in and out of the sports arena. Joined by Jarrett Drake and Destanie Sykes, two former NCAA Division I athletes, who provide a firsthand account of the unique ways Black collegiate athletes are commodified and expected to produce without the benefit of ownership or monetary compensation. They also offer their insight into why so many professional athletes are leveraging their influence in support of political causes and as social justice advocates. Take a listen to the episode to hear what we're talking about!
Have you ever felt guilty about saying no or turning a request or invitation down? It can be hard to say no if you're an Empath. A lot of us are recovering people pleasers and we just want to help others and make them happy. But then we fall into a cycle where we end up tolerating behavior that does not serve us. We end up putting those who value us the least first. Then we become resentful, drained, and overwhelmed for a number of reasons but the main one is that we end up helping others at the detriment of ourselves. Saying no while feeling empowered can be a rough one for empaths. What we don't realize is that we most likely need better boundaries as an Empath. Join Naomi for an audio replay of a livestream that she did on the topic of empaths, boundaries, and the things we feel guilty about when setting healthy boundaries in our lives. You won't want to miss this episode because she covers the 6 boundaries that you don't have to feel bad for setting as an empath. See you on the inside of the episode! *If you're an Empath who is interested in overcoming energetic overwhelm, releasing limiting beliefs, and setting healthy boundaries in your relationships, then I'd love to invite you to enroll in The Empowered Empath Coaching Program Course! We admit, over this CrossFit Games season we believe the programming has been less than ideal from what we would have expected or desired from CrossFit. We have been critical of it BUT we have also provided our opinions on how it could have improved. We decided to address some of our own constructive feedback form our listeners to expand on why we feel the way we feel and how we truly do love CrossFit. Hope you enjoy it and don't feel like cancelling us afterwards. If so, we'll deliver a semi heartfelt Instagram apology and wait for the Paul brothers to do something and make it blow over.

In this episode we'll discuss the Republican Party's ongoing shift towards pure insanity and kick off the show by discussing the latest round of Marjorie Greene madness. If you're thinking, ‘boy the GOP sure has gotten a lot more crazy lately,' we'll remind you Republicans have been pandering to the Marjorie Greenes of the world for decades now. We'll also discuss Laura Ingraham's absurd fear-mongering over “climate lockdowns,” another Fox News host's anti-vax idiocy, Joe Biden's broken promises, and much more!
Special Guest: Matthew Wish, Richmond Hill, GA I met Matthew in a college course right after my marriage fell apart. We were paired as debate partners and right off the bat, I found him to be annoying and just way too much. But he grew on me and we became friends over the course of the semester. I would have never guessed we'd end up in a romantic relationship years later and I really would've never imagined having a surprise baby with this guy! We are pretty much opposites in every way, which led to our disastrous romance. But our differences only strengthened us as a family unit. Little Hattie is the best parts of both of us and very unique in her own right. On this episode, Matt and I share a glimpse of our story of how we formed our unique family unit, how we maintain it, what challenges we had coming together as co-parents and our hopes for our little Hattie. We are not perfect by a long shot, but what drives our family and the way we co-parent is our insane love for our daughter. We want to give her every opportunity to rise and be herself without any adult baggage placed on her. So we try our best to create a family where she is able to just be Hattie, the coolest, most beautiful free spirit. The grants and fundraising arena has always been a competitive endeavor. If you have spent any amount of time in the fund seeking world, you understand that the need always outweighs the grant awards offered by funders and donations handed out by individuals. But that does not mean us grant professionals and fundraisers have to throw off the gloves and duke it out until the last one is standing. Join today's episode for real world examples of how to dial down the crazy-making competition of grant seeking and fundraising. If we all participate in social grant responsibility, it will be better for all those we serve.
