#124. We open this episode with a couple funny stories from Dillon. Have you ever said something like “you too” after being wished happy birthday? Or perhaps adopted your child's vocabulary accidentally while talking to adults? Also, do you play out video game scenarios in your head while experiencing real world things? Dillon has. We spend most of the rest of the episode discussing shows we are streaming. The big discussion is over Squid Game, the hit Netflix show from Korea. We talk more about Ted Lasso, because that guy is just fun. We also discuss Only Murders in the Building. We close with WWE as Kendall is slowly stepping back into that ring. What are you watching? Any thoughts on the media we are consuming? Let us know! The Linktree is below!Main Landing Page - https://linktr.ee/fromthemidpod

#123. In this episode we begin with one of our favorite things! We read comments from some of our listeners. And we would love to read more! If you're so inclined, visit the Linktree below to see the various places you can reach us. Specifically, we are asking our international friends and those who travel, what foods have you experienced in other countries which are marketed as American, but maybe miss the mark? Or what obviously Americanized food have you encountered? What American food is impossible to find elsewhere? We touch on that topic this week. We also share updates about what we've been watching, including Black Widow. There's some more fur baby talk and other 'real' parenting discussion. Finally, Dillon shakes things up (not stirs) with a James Bond trivia game for Kendall and Kory in light of the new film No Time to Die. Also, is it time for a female Bond film? We share our thoughts. Overall, this one is heavily geared toward the world of entertainment. Enjoy!Main Landing Page - https://linktr.ee/fromthemidpod

We don't complain a lot, but when we do, we have fun with it. From Dillon's electronics struggles to Kory's Taco Bell loneliness, we add to the list of what gets on our nerves. Then in a short moment of humility, we admit some of the things which make us weird; our “freak flags” if you will. Have you ever read an entire instruction manual for a pencil sharpener? Kendall has. Those who have been around know the deal, and we will likely do this one again! Please share your pet peeves and freak flags! Find us on social or call us! JP Vitullo goes by many other names, including “the paramotor guy” and “the flying man.” He has a thrilling hobby which lends many people to notice him, but most do not get a chance to figure out exactly what paramotoring is or how one actually does it. Perhaps the most humble man in adrenaline sports, JP shares with all of us the ups and downs, risks and rewards, and the freedoms and fundamentals of, as he puts it, “running into the sky.” So grab an energy drink and double check your carabiners. Surrounding that segment is some talk about Dillon's reunion with movie theaters as he watched Marvel Studios' Shang-Chi as well as another film he watched for the first time to the surprise of many. Kory has another anxious plane flight home, and Kendall bought a blimp! With soaring enthusiasm, we hit several topics in this one. We also pay a short tribute to the late Norm Macdonald. We figure diving into some deeper than normal conversation about various forms of entertainment and media was the way to do that. We discuss the Marvel universe and how we are able to retain (or not retain) the details. Kory had a close encounter with the VMA's, or at least geographically closer than most of us. In the vein of today's music culture making us feel old, we try to figure out some internet shorthand. We also trade fishing stories and talk about Steve Wallis, our favorite stealth camper. Nate's thoughtful approach to the fundamentals of living and growing gives insight to parenting, reaching goals, and finding fulfillment. Military experience, a tv show, a learning homesteader, and the like have certainly contributed to who he his. We begin by sharing our vaccine status and what that means for us in the near future and what the experience has taught Kendall about his physical coordination. Then we bring back our avian discussions as we try to save the birds and educate the world on the issues of homeless parrots. Kory shares his positive experience with a newish social platform, Clubhouse, and a new-to-him platform, Patreon. We then pivot to talking about the stunningly shiny sax player from The Lost Boys, Tim Cappello, and the Cameo gift Kory and Dillon surprised Kendall with. Finally, we wrap with what has become a polarizing topic among those of us in the middle: men's underwear. All over the place topically with this one. The serious stuff got the comedy treatment, the goofy stuff got taken too seriously. You know how we roll. Keep reaching out, friends! We love food on this podcast and Matt was kind enough to give us some of his time to answer questions about what food science is all about as he walks us down what his curious taste buds have been finding. Sandwiches, pizza, waffles, baked goods, and more don't get far without creative minds and skilled people behind them and we also get to touch on some of those stories. So what did we do? We asked some kids questions about what they thought! Not too far from a young view of MCU you'll find Kendall. There's irony to the fact that he's been binging MCU material recently and mostly for the first time. He gives his take as well. Kory and Dillon, the vets of this universe, chime in to raise the bar a bit on the discussion. Something for all interest levels in here! Also, McDonald's ice cream machines are still broken...and we still very much dislike that. Finally, an old favorite comedian, Brian Regan, has a fabulous new special out! We all watched it.
