In Hour 1… (4:32) Tuesday night gave us the first taste of official March Madness action, with the first two “First Four” games taking place, first between St. Francis and Alabama State, where ASU was able to pull off the last second victory 70-68. The guys hit on this matchup, as well as Senior's usual disdain for the play in games. They also discussed the second matchup of the night between highly-disputed participant North Carolina and San Diego State.  (12:45) The guys then shifted from the College Courts to the Professionals, recapping last night's matchup between the Milwaukee Bucks and Golden State Warriors. No Curry? No Problem for Golden State, as Jimmy Butler was able to provide the dubs with a 24-8-10 stat line, only furthering the narrative about how much the Warriors have improved with him on the roster. Mike and Mike discuss what the Warriors could look like come playoff time, and if Butler has turned them into legitimate contenders for the 2025 title. (23:26) The Aaron Rodgers saga is still ongoing, with many reports linking him to the Minnesota Vikings surfacing this week. However, that news was put to rest during the first hour of Wednesday's show after NFL Network's Tom Pelissero revealed the Vikings have been rejecting multiple trade calls on QB J.J. McCarthy, signaling they're content with him starting under center next season. The guys discussed the latest chapter in the Rodgers saga, and weighed his two biggest options between the Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Giants.  (38:50) Speaking of the Steelers, noted Steelers super fan Jessica Smetana stopped by to catch up with Junior and Senior. They first discussed how she feels about the prospect of Aaron Rodgers coming to Pittsburgh, and then shifted into other conversations such as Cameron Brink's latest comments, as well as Lando Norris taking home the first race of the F1 season.  (53:08) Mike Golic Jr. gives a recap of the second game in Tokyo between the Chicago Cubs and Los Angeles Dodgers, highlighted by homecoming hero Shohei Ohtani blasting a HR to right field and taking down Chicago 6-3 Click here to subscribe, rate, and review the newest episodes of GoJo and Golic! In Hour 2… (6:05) ESPN's Dalen Cuff joined to kick off Hour 2 with a preview of the 2025 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament. The guys and Dalen hit on some of the biggest names to watch for in this year's tournament, such as Duke, Florida and Houston, as well as hitting on Rick Pitino and his current St. John's squad after winning their first Big East title in over 25 years.  (15:20) Mike Golic Jr's old collegiate coach, Charlie Weis, stopped by to talk through a few different things with the guys. First, they discussed some of his time coaching the Fighting Irish, as well as coaching Mike Jr himself, but then transitioned into what his son, Charlie Weis Jr is up to these days. Charlie Jr. currently serves as OC and QBs coach of Ole Miss, and Charlie Sr. had strong opinions on the rise of Jaxson Dart during the 2025 Draft Process. Charlie didn't have a bad thing to say about Dart, and understands why he continues to climb draft boards, such as Mel Kiper Jr's third mock draft of the season.  (30:18)  We've got a source off! In Hour 1, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network discussed how the Minnesota Vikings were effectively out on QB Aaron Rodgers after informing teams they're not trading QB J.J. McCarthy. During the second hour, The Athletic's Diana Russini tweeted “There's no ‘in' or ‘out' on Aaron Rodgers from Minnesota—they're simply not making a decision at this time.” The guys discuss if there's still a chance Rodgers ends up following in Brett Favre's footsteps and ends up in Minneapolis, as well as continuing the convo from Hour 1 on what they're expecting, if anything, from Rodgers' free agency process. In Hour 1… (4:26) Another morning with live sports during the show, this time kicking off the MLB Regular Season! The Dodgers and Cubs squared off in Tokyo, Japan during the beginning of today's show, and the Golics discuss how big Shohei Ohtani's stardom is in the country of Japan. (9:20) Shifting over to the gridiron, Aaron Rodgers watch enters another day with no answer. Since the start of free agency, Rodgers has been linked to the Pittsburgh Steelers, New York Giants and Minnesota Vikings, among others, but there haven't been any massive updates on the future of the 4-time MVP. Junior and Senior discuss what's going on in Rodgers' camp, as well as how they feel the situation will shake out over the coming weeks/months.  (23:25) The NBA MVP Race stays hot, with Shai-Gilgeous Alexander currently leading the charge according to DraftKings Sportsbook. SGA is having a monster year, but 3-time MVP Nikola Jokic is having a record year in some of his own stat categories. The guys discuss who they feel should be the MVP, as well as how voters are approaching this year's decision. (39:08) Another day, another mock draft - this time from Mel Kiper Jr. The guys overview some of the highlights from Mel's 3rd Mock Draft of the year, as well as discuss how they're expecting some of the top quarterbacks and overall prospects to play out.  (49:42) The gang circled back to the action in Japan from the Tokyo Dome, and GoJo figured out one of his own producers has called games from the venue! The guys listened to Producer Bailey Kennedy's Japanese baseball calls live, and discussed what they thought of his performances behind the mic.  (53:35) Jessie Coffield gives an update on the matchup going on during the show, where the LA Dodgers ended up taking down the Chicago Cubs 4-1 in Tokyo to kick off the MLB Season. In Hour 1… (5:17) It's officially time for March Madness and on Sunday, the 2025 Men's and Women's tournament brackets were released. The guys kick off the week by breaking down the men's bracket, as well as discussing some of their favorite matchups, bubble teams, dark horses and how they pick their brackets every year.  (22:37) The Golics get into the spirit of the holidays, embracing their traditions of St. Patrick's Day and favorite memories they've had celebrating.  (27:02) Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins made history overnight by both signing record-breaking extensions. The deals made Chase the highest paid non-QB in NFL History, and Higgins the highest paid WR2 in NFL History. During this segment, the guys discuss how important both of these moves were to Cincinnati's future success, as well as how they'll counter that on the defensive side of the ball over the next couple of seasons.  (39:53) The Seattle Seahawks have spent much of the offseason retooling their offense, starting off with D.K. Metcalf being traded to Pittsburgh, releasing 10-year veteran Tyler Lockett and trading QB Geno Smith to Las Vegas. Since, Seattle has signed QB Sam Darnold to a 3-year, $100M contract, as well as bringing in WR Cooper Kupp on a 3-year, $45M contract. [03:00] Aaron Rodgers Officially a Free AgentAaron Rodgers is now officially a free agent following his release by the New York Jets at the start of the league year on Wednesday at 4 p.m. Eastern. The move, while long-anticipated, was not formally announced by the Jets but is expected to appear on the NFL's evening transaction wire. By waiting until the new league year to release him, the Jets can now designate Rodgers as a post-June 1 cut, allowing them to spread his massive $49 million cap hit across two seasons—$14 million this year and $35 million in 2026. In the meantime, they will carry his full cap charge of $23.5 million until June 1, after which they will free up $9.5 million in cap space. [12:30] Vikings Showing Interest in Aaron RodgersReports suggest that the Minnesota Vikings have internally discussed the possibility of signing Aaron Rodgers, according to ESPN's Kevin Seifert. While it remains uncertain how serious the Vikings are about pursuing Rodgers, the team is at least exploring the idea. The conversation shifts to whether Minnesota should have the most interest in Rodgers and how he could elevate the offense, especially with a weapon like Justin Jefferson at his disposal. [22:45] Rams Releasing Cooper KuppThe Los Angeles Rams have decided to release star wide receiver Cooper Kupp, designating him as a post-June 1 cut. This means they will carry his $29.78 million cap hit until June before spreading the financial impact across multiple seasons, with dead cap hits of $14.78 million in 2025 and $7.48 million in 2026. [32:10] Amon-Ra St. Brown Sounds Off on the BearsDetroit Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown has taken notice of the Chicago Bears' aggressive moves in free agency. Chicago has bolstered its offensive line by acquiring guards Joe Thuney and Jonah Jackson, while also signing center Drew Dalman. On the defensive side, the Bears have added pass rushers Dayo Odeyingbo and Grady Jarrett, making them a much more formidable team heading into the 2025 season. [40:20] Joey Bosa Joins the Buffalo BillsPro Bowl defensive end Joey Bosa has signed a one-year, $12.6 million deal with the Buffalo Bills, marking the end of his tenure with the Los Angeles Chargers. Bosa has been plagued by injuries in recent seasons but was still selected as a Pro Bowl alternate in 2024. His arrival in Buffalo is expected to strengthen the Bills' defensive front, especially after they released Von Miller to free up $8.4 million in cap space. [45:15] Mac Jones to the 49ersIn smaller free agency news, former New England Patriots and Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Mac Jones has signed a two-year, $7 million contract with the San Francisco 49ers, with $5 million guaranteed. Jones appeared in 10 games last season for the Jaguars in relief of an injured Trevor Lawrence, completing 65.3% of his passes for 1,672 yards with eight touchdowns and eight interceptions. Jacksonville struggled in those games, going 2-5 and averaging just 15 points per game. Click here to subscribe, rate, and review the newest episodes of GoJo and Golic! In Hour 1… (4:25) Before the guys got into the meat of everything that happened during Day 1 of the NFL's Free Agency Legal Tampering Period, Jessie Coffield brought up her current fast, as she's getting bloodwork done following the show. This fascinated Mike Golic Sr, and the gang discussed how good fasting is for the human body. (8:50) The NFL Free Agency Legal Tampering Window opened up at noon on Monday, and the deals kept coming all day. The biggest name going off the board was former Minnesota Vikings QB Sam Darnold, who signed a 3-year, $100M deal to become the next QB of the Seattle Seahawks. The guys discussed what kind of a move this is for Seattle, and what direction they'll be heading in after losing 2 WRs and their starting QB Geno Smith.  (22:30) The other QB News making headlines on Monday was not via free agency, but the trade market as the Pittsburgh Steelers traded QB Justin Fields to the New York Jets, who were looking for their Aaron Rodgers replacement. Fields had a solid year in Pittsburgh, but split duties under center with Russell Wilson. The guys talked about what this could do for Fields' career and if he can have a resurgence with NY, as well as how the Steelers will be looking to approach the QB position this season - perhaps with the Jets former starter? (37:42) A plethora of stars were on the move on Monday, and the guys took the time to discuss some of the biggest non-QB moves from the day. They also discussed some of their favorite moves of the day, and their biggest winners and losers of the free agency window opening. [01:00] Matt Harmon Joins the ShowYahoo Sports football analyst Matt Harmon (@MattHarmon_BYB) joins the show to break down the biggest wide receiver moves of the offseason. The conversation focuses on the impact of DK Metcalf being traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers, Davante Adams joining the Los Angeles Rams, and the possibility of Deebo Samuel being the next major player to be traded. With multiple receivers already on the move, the discussion also explores whether Cooper Kupp could be the next wide receiver to change teams. [16:20] Lakers vs. Celtics Recap (Celtics 111, Lakers 101)The Boston Celtics proved their dominance once again by defeating the Los Angeles Lakers. This segment analyzes what this victory says about the Celtics and their championship aspirations. The Lakers struggled in the third quarter, shooting just 21% from the field while committing six turnovers, raising the question of how far away they are from truly competing with the NBA's best teams. With Jayson Tatum dropping 40 points and Jaylen Brown adding 31, the discussion turns to whether the Celtics are the clear-cut best team in the league and what strategies teams might use to beat them. [24:15] Ronnie Stanley Re-Signs with the RavensThe Baltimore Ravens have secured a crucial piece of their offensive line by agreeing to a three-year, $60 million deal with left tackle Ronnie Stanley. This move ensures quarterback Lamar Jackson's blind side is protected, which could have a significant impact on Baltimore's offensive success moving forward. With four offensive line starters returning from last season, the Ravens have solidified one of the league's most important units. However, left guard Patrick Mekari remains an unrestricted free agent, leaving one question mark in their protection scheme. The discussion focuses on how this move shapes the Ravens' Super Bowl aspirations and the ripple effects it may have on their roster construction. [03:45] DIANNA RUSSINI JOINS THE SHOWMultiple teams have reportedly reached out to the Bengals to inquire about trading for wide receiver Tee Higgins. Cincinnati has remained firm in their stance on Higgins, but with trade interest growing, will they eventually make a move? Seattle Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf has reportedly requested a trade, with the team setting a high asking price of a first- and third-round pick. With rumors swirling about a potential trade involving Joey Bosa, what kind of market does the star pass rusher have? [15:24] DOES SGA HAVE THE MVP LOCKED UP?Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has been on an absolute tear, setting a record for the fewest games between his first and fourth 50-point performances with just 19. His scoring dominance has propelled the Oklahoma City Thunder to a Western Conference-best 50-11 record, making him the clear frontrunner for MVP. He currently leads the league in both points per game (32.6) and total points (1,957). With SGA now sitting at -650 odds to win the award, is there any real competition left for the MVP, or is it already locked up? [26:20] SHOULD COOPER FLAGG RETURN TO DUKE?During Duke's final home game of the season, fans erupted into chants urging Cooper Flagg to "run it back" for another year. Flagg seemed to acknowledge the moment, raising his finger as if signaling his return, while his father made the same gesture in the stands. Reports suggest that Flagg could consider withdrawing from the 2025 NBA Draft if he is unhappy with the team that lands the No. 1 overall pick. With his NIL deals already totaling $4.8 million, making him the highest-paid college player, does he actually have a reason to stay at Duke for another year? [37:25] JASON KIDD ON KYRIE IRVING'S INJURYKyrie Irving was playing heavy minutes in the weeks leading up to his injury, averaging 39.3 per game—more than any other player in that span. After Irving went down, Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd pushed back against any criticism regarding the team's handling of his workload, calling the injury a "freak accident." Is Kidd right to dismiss concerns about overuse, or is this a sign that the Mavericks are mismanaging their stars? With Irving sidelined, how much trouble is Dallas in for the rest of the season? The guys get into last night's matchup, with GoJo catching up after going to bed early in the fourth quarter. They discuss how impressive of a comeback it was, and what it could mean for the Oklahoma City Thunder going forward. (11:29) Perhaps the biggest news out of the NBA on Tuesday - Luka Doncic will face his former team, the Dallas Mavericks, as they travel to take on the Los Angeles Lakers. Mike and Mike discuss what they're expecting from tonight's matchup, and how Dallas will respond against their former star player.  (20:13) Discussed a little on Monday, the guys dive back into the current situation regarding LA Rams QB Matthew Stafford, who has openly been placed in trade discussions this offseason. With many different teams in the running, such as the Browns, Giants, Steelers and Raiders, where will the former World Champion QB be playing under center as the 2025 season kicks off? (44:08) The guys transition into a conversation surrounding the current state of the Dallas Cowboys, and how they will be “selectively aggressive” this offseason. There's been speculation the Cowboys are planning on tanking this upcoming season after hiring HC Brian Schottenheimer, but will the Cowboys actually take his tenure seriously, or is this just smoke to help them prepare for the 2026 season? In Hour 1… (2:55) Mike Golic Jr. and Mike Golic Sr. lead off the week with some of the biggest news out of the NBA, starting with Joel Embiid's newest knee injury. At the beginning of the 2024-25 season, it was already stated Embiid would be rolling back the amount of minutes he would be playing in hopes of remaining healthy for a playoff run. Come almost four months later, Embiid is once again down with another injury to his knee. Is this going to be the turning point for Philadelphia on how they handle Embiid after 10+ seasons in the Association?  (11:54) The guys then transition into another NBA legend sidelined, this time with San Antonio Spurs Head Coach Gregg Popovich. Pop, who has been with the franchise since 1996. Following a health issue, later reported as a “mild stroke,” Popovich has been away from the team since November 2nd, and it came out this week he is unlikely to return to the sidelines this season. Is this the last we've seen of the five-time World Champion Head Coach, or does Pop have one more in him? The guys hit on everything surrounding the current situation, as well as what Popovich has meant to the game of basketball over the last 30+ years.  (19:27) The NBA All-Star Game was poorly received by fans this year, but the media members had their revenge following the All-Star matchup in the Bay Area. The Golic's discuss how some media members were vindicated this week following the mid-season exhibition.  (25:07) The guys then transition to Sunday's slate of NBA Games, headlined by the New York Knicks traveling to Boston to take on the defending World-Champion Celtics. The Celtics showed New York why they were defending champs, defeating them by a score of 118-105. They discuss if Boston is still the team to beat in the East, and then talk about some of the other games that caught fans attention on Sunday. (34:22) The NFL Combine begins this week in Indianapolis, and Colorado's Star QB, Shedeur Sanders, won't be throwing at this year's event. This isn't an unprecedented move, as many top picks over the past few years have elected not to throw, and the guys discuss if this is a good or bad move for Sanders, who is projected to go in the Top-5 of April's NFL Draft. They also discuss some of the players who will be running the 40-yard dash, as well as some of the intricacies that hold more value than they should at the combine.  (49:28) Finally, Jessie Coffield gives a brief overview of some eye-popping stat lines during Sunday's NBA Slate - particularly with players such as Miami's Tyler Herro and Detroit's Cade Cunningham.  Click here to subscribe, rate, and review the newest episodes of GoJo and Golic! In Hour 1… (4:21) The United States and Canada squared off in an overtime thriller during the Four Nations Face-Off Final on Thursday night, and it captivated Mike Golic Jr. and Mike Golic Sr. From what it meant on the ice, to the larger meaning politically, it held the attention of NHL fans, hockey fans, and those who've never watched a game on ice. The guys break down everything they loved about the game, the tournament, and dealing with a loss from their home country.  (15:47) Perhaps the biggest news Thursday - Spurs F/C Victor Wembanyama was sidelined for the remainder of the season after being diagnosed with blood clots in his shoulder. The guys discuss what a blow this is for the Spurs, as well as the league, as well as how disappointed they are not being able to see Wembanyama make a potential push for the playoffs.  (21:55) Dallas Cowboys guard Zack Martin called it a career after 11 seasons in the NFL this week, and the guys give Martin his well-deserved flowers. Being one of the most consistent starters in the NFL, the Cowboys are losing one of their best payers over the last decade, and the Golic's pay homage to what he's meant towards offensive line play as a whole.  (36:52) The deadline has passed, but the stories surrounding it have not after Mark Williams reportedly failed his physical after being traded to the Lakers, thus keeping him in Charlotte. The Lakers and Hornets squared off on Wednesday, where Williams went 10-9-2 in the “revenge” spot. The guys get into the nuts and bolts of this one, and discuss if the Lakers actually “sabotaged” their own deal. (44:50) College Football Season never really ends, and that held true as Texas announced this week that they will no longer be hosting their Spring Football Games, citing that college football was changing, and they need to adapt, and with how deep of a season the team played, they needed rest.
