In Hour 1… (4:32) Tuesday night gave us the first taste of official March Madness action, with the first two “First Four” games taking place, first between St. Francis and Alabama State, where ASU was able to pull off the last second victory 70-68. The guys hit on this matchup, as well as Senior's usual disdain for the play in games. They also discussed the second matchup of the night between highly-disputed participant North Carolina and San Diego State. (12:45) The guys then shifted from the College Courts to the Professionals, recapping last night's matchup between the Milwaukee Bucks and Golden State Warriors. No Curry? No Problem for Golden State, as Jimmy Butler was able to provide the dubs with a 24-8-10 stat line, only furthering the narrative about how much the Warriors have improved with him on the roster. Mike and Mike discuss what the Warriors could look like come playoff time, and if Butler has turned them into legitimate contenders for the 2025 title. (23:26) The Aaron Rodgers saga is still ongoing, with many reports linking him to the Minnesota Vikings surfacing this week. However, that news was put to rest during the first hour of Wednesday's show after NFL Network's Tom Pelissero revealed the Vikings have been rejecting multiple trade calls on QB J.J. McCarthy, signaling they're content with him starting under center next season. The guys discussed the latest chapter in the Rodgers saga, and weighed his two biggest options between the Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Giants. (38:50) Speaking of the Steelers, noted Steelers super fan Jessica Smetana stopped by to catch up with Junior and Senior. They first discussed how she feels about the prospect of Aaron Rodgers coming to Pittsburgh, and then shifted into other conversations such as Cameron Brink's latest comments, as well as Lando Norris taking home the first race of the F1 season. (53:08) Mike Golic Jr. gives a recap of the second game in Tokyo between the Chicago Cubs and Los Angeles Dodgers, highlighted by homecoming hero Shohei Ohtani blasting a HR to right field and taking down Chicago 6-3 Click here to subscribe, rate, and review the newest episodes of GoJo and Golic! In Hour 2… (6:05) ESPN's Dalen Cuff joined to kick off Hour 2 with a preview of the 2025 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament. The guys and Dalen hit on some of the biggest names to watch for in this year's tournament, such as Duke, Florida and Houston, as well as hitting on Rick Pitino and his current St. John's squad after winning their first Big East title in over 25 years. (15:20) Mike Golic Jr's old collegiate coach, Charlie Weis, stopped by to talk through a few different things with the guys. First, they discussed some of his time coaching the Fighting Irish, as well as coaching Mike Jr himself, but then transitioned into what his son, Charlie Weis Jr is up to these days. Charlie Jr. currently serves as OC and QBs coach of Ole Miss, and Charlie Sr. had strong opinions on the rise of Jaxson Dart during the 2025 Draft Process. Charlie didn't have a bad thing to say about Dart, and understands why he continues to climb draft boards, such as Mel Kiper Jr's third mock draft of the season. (30:18) We've got a source off! In Hour 1, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network discussed how the Minnesota Vikings were effectively out on QB Aaron Rodgers after informing teams they're not trading QB J.J. McCarthy. During the second hour, The Athletic's Diana Russini tweeted “There's no ‘in' or ‘out' on Aaron Rodgers from Minnesota—they're simply not making a decision at this time.” The guys discuss if there's still a chance Rodgers ends up following in Brett Favre's footsteps and ends up in Minneapolis, as well as continuing the convo from Hour 1 on what they're expecting, if anything, from Rodgers' free agency process. In Hour 1… (5:17) It's officially time for March Madness and on Sunday, the 2025 Men's and Women's tournament brackets were released. The guys kick off the week by breaking down the men's bracket, as well as discussing some of their favorite matchups, bubble teams, dark horses and how they pick their brackets every year. (22:37) The Golics get into the spirit of the holidays, embracing their traditions of St. Patrick's Day and favorite memories they've had celebrating. (27:02) Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins made history overnight by both signing record-breaking extensions. The deals made Chase the highest paid non-QB in NFL History, and Higgins the highest paid WR2 in NFL History. During this segment, the guys discuss how important both of these moves were to Cincinnati's future success, as well as how they'll counter that on the defensive side of the ball over the next couple of seasons. (39:53) The Seattle Seahawks have spent much of the offseason retooling their offense, starting off with D.K. Metcalf being traded to Pittsburgh, releasing 10-year veteran Tyler Lockett and trading QB Geno Smith to Las Vegas. Since, Seattle has signed QB Sam Darnold to a 3-year, $100M contract, as well as bringing in WR Cooper Kupp on a 3-year, $45M contract. Mike and Mike get into what exactly Seattle is attempting here, and what they may look like during the 2025 regular season. (53:13) Mike Golic Jr. previews the kick off to the 2025 MLB Season at this week's MLB World Tour: Tokyo Series from Tokyo, Japan. The games take place March 18-19 between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Chicago Cubs, and the Dodgers will be missing some big names with star OF/2B Mookie Betts dealing with illness. In Hour 1… (2:55) Mike Golic Jr. and Mike Golic Sr. lead off the week with some of the biggest news out of the NBA, starting with Joel Embiid's newest knee injury. At the beginning of the 2024-25 season, it was already stated Embiid would be rolling back the amount of minutes he would be playing in hopes of remaining healthy for a playoff run. Come almost four months later, Embiid is once again down with another injury to his knee. Is this the last we've seen of the five-time World Champion Head Coach, or does Pop have one more in him? The guys hit on everything surrounding the current situation, as well as what Popovich has meant to the game of basketball over the last 30+ years. (19:27) The NBA All-Star Game was poorly received by fans this year, but the media members had their revenge following the All-Star matchup in the Bay Area. The Golic's discuss how some media members were vindicated this week following the mid-season exhibition. (25:07) The guys then transition to Sunday's slate of NBA Games, headlined by the New York Knicks traveling to Boston to take on the defending World-Champion Celtics. The Celtics showed New York why they were defending champs, defeating them by a score of 118-105. They discuss if Boston is still the team to beat in the East, and then talk about some of the other games that caught fans attention on Sunday. (34:22) The NFL Combine begins this week in Indianapolis, and Colorado's Star QB, Shedeur Sanders, won't be throwing at this year's event. This isn't an unprecedented move, as many top picks over the past few years have elected not to throw, and the guys discuss if this is a good or bad move for Sanders, who is projected to go in the Top-5 of April's NFL Draft. They also discuss some of the players who will be running the 40-yard dash, as well as some of the intricacies that hold more value than they should at the combine. (49:28) Finally, Jessie Coffield gives a brief overview of some eye-popping stat lines during Sunday's NBA Slate - particularly with players such as Miami's Tyler Herro and Detroit's Cade Cunningham. In Hour 1… (4:21) The United States and Canada squared off in an overtime thriller during the Four Nations Face-Off Final on Thursday night, and it captivated Mike Golic Jr. and Mike Golic Sr. From what it meant on the ice, to the larger meaning politically, it held the attention of NHL fans, hockey fans, and those who've never watched a game on ice. The guys break down everything they loved about the game, the tournament, and dealing with a loss from their home country. (15:47) Perhaps the biggest news Thursday - Spurs F/C Victor Wembanyama was sidelined for the remainder of the season after being diagnosed with blood clots in his shoulder. The guys discuss what a blow this is for the Spurs, as well as the league, as well as how disappointed they are not being able to see Wembanyama make a potential push for the playoffs. (21:55) Dallas Cowboys guard Zack Martin called it a career after 11 seasons in the NFL this week, and the guys give Martin his well-deserved flowers. Being one of the most consistent starters in the NFL, the Cowboys are losing one of their best payers over the last decade, and the Golic's pay homage to what he's meant towards offensive line play as a whole. (36:52) The deadline has passed, but the stories surrounding it have not after Mark Williams reportedly failed his physical after being traded to the Lakers, thus keeping him in Charlotte. The Lakers and Hornets squared off on Wednesday, where Williams went 10-9-2 in the “revenge” spot. The guys get into the nuts and bolts of this one, and discuss if the Lakers actually “sabotaged” their own deal. (44:50) College Football Season never really ends, and that held true as Texas announced this week that they will no longer be hosting their Spring Football Games, citing that college football was changing, and they need to adapt, and with how deep of a season the team played, they needed rest. Should more schools take this approach? Mike and Mike break it all down. (51:51) To close out the first hour, Mike Golic Jr. gives a brief preview of this weekend's NBA slate, highlighted by the Timberwolves taking on the Rockets on Friday Night Click here to subscribe, rate, and review the newest episodes of GoJo and Golic!
