Chapter 11 of Star Wars: Heir to the Empire (1991) (EU: 9 ABY) by Timothy Zahn. The Story So FarAfter Grand Admiral Thrawn conducts three simultaneous raids in the Sluis Van sector, Leia Organa-Solo and Han Solo travel to Bpfassh to show their diplomatic support with the recovery effort. While there, they are ambushed for a second time by the same unknown aliens from Bimmisaari. They manage to escape but Han decides it's time to get help outside New Republic jurisdiction. Meanwhile, Luke Skywalker has been training Leia as his first student. He has been struggling with self-doubt as the teacher needed to rebuild the Jedi Order. Thrawn has allied himself with Master Joruus C'baoth, clone and Dark Jedi. Captain Pelleaon devises a plan to disseminate information that might lure Luke to C'baoth instead of sending more noghri to capture him. Finally, Mara Jade has apprenticed to the smuggler Talon Karrde as they play cat-and-mouse to tease information out of each other.Chapter 11On a hunch, Luke travels to Dagobah hoping to find something — anything — left by Yoda to guide his uncertain footsteps into the future. Finding nothing in Yoda's old dwelling, he ventures into the Dark Side Cave and is confronted with a vision; a retelling of Luke's execution at the Great Pit of Carkoon where his lightsaber is intercepted by a mysterious woman. Rewarded for his ordeal, Luke emerges with a nondescript gadget with markings that R2-D2 suspects might be recognised by Lando. LinksDagobah - Star Wars Background Ambience Yoda on Dagobah Deleted Scene with audio from Leia on Alderaan Scene Share and SupportShare this episode (cross platform link)Discuss this chapter on Discord, YouTube, or RedditSupport us on PatreonOur WebsiteRelease DocumentTranscriptHosts' ThoughtsLuke's attitude towards dwelling on Yoda is a good display of mindfulness.THE CAAAAAAAVELuke not realizing how structures would decay in a swamp is a good bit of characterization.Which side of the Force does curiosity serve?Who was the woman in Luke's vision? Yet another name that's difficult to pronounce (Nkllon). It would seem that Steve's co-hosts are lost in the Great Pit of Carkoon and he'll have to take over Jabba's Palace on his own. December 29th, 2021 sees the addition of The Book of Boba Fett to Disney Plus and Star Wars lore and and there is nothing to concern us since Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau have things under control. (What? Robert Rodriguez? That's fine, but...oh, blue motorcycle riding girl? Yeah. I see. Hmmm.) Well, almost nothing. We reserve the right to love and hate anything we want and urge you to do the same. Will "R.R." ruin Star Wars for us? Not likely. Will he fall victim to hubris and tarnish the Beskar of Boba Fett? It's possible. Anything is possible. There are a few things we'd like to see in this show and if we're not given a look or an explanation for how Boba Fett survived the Sarlaac but ditched his armor, we're not going to be happy. Likewise we might need to see how Fennec Shand might be the black sheep of her crime family or at least why she's willing to dedicate her life to living on Tatooine. I mean, she was being hunted by a rookie bounty hunter in season one of The Mandalorian, am I right? Please don't forget that all season long our coverage of The Book of Boba Fett will include the Cufflinks.com coupon code of THEWAY15 for 15% off your shopping on the site. We’re back in the cryptid cornucopia this week with Mongolian Death Worms. We know, we know….they sound cuddly, but we wouldn’t suggest snuggling up. These enormous worm-like creatures allegedly live in the Gobi desert and snack on locals for sport. They spit acid, shoot electricity, and will kill a man by a mere touch (yeah, we’re surprised it isn’t Australian too). But are Mongolian Death Worms the surreptitious stalkers from legend, or are they merely a campfire tale passed down through generations? We grab the spice, call Kevin Bacon, and escape the Great Pit of Carkoon this week as we investigate. Plus, Kyle seems to be MIA (at least its quieter), Conspiracy Bot predicts Brent’s demise (is it a prediction if you cause it?), and the fellas discuss the weird stuff they did with bugs as a kid (magnifying glasses anyone?). All of that and more on the podcast that wonders, if you cut a Mongolian Death Worm in half do you get two Mongolian Death Worms? Reaction Corps was lost for a while to that Great Pit of Carkoon known as the whirlwind lead-up and post-show glory-basking of The Force Awakens. But just like Boba Fett (probably) (but actually probably not), Reaction Corps has jet-packed itself free from the slimy maw of the all-powerful Sarlacc.  What was the impetus for this great escape? The brilliance known as "The Honorable Ones" on Star Wars: Rebels. "The Legend of the Lasat" was almost enough to pull us out, though. In fact, we basically did a mini Reaction Corps on episode #27: Happabore Backwash, complete with a music cue and everything.  Anyway, since it had been a while, we first did a quick re-cap of season 2 so far. Then we dove right into the intricacies of The Honorable Ones.  We talk about the construction modules around Geonosis and how they bear a striking resemblance to Ralph McQuarrie's concept art for the Death Star(s) II. Check out the show guide on our website to see the images: http://childrenoftheforce.com/2016/03/01/reaction-corps-rebels-the-honorable-ones/ As we discuss the episode, questions arise:  How did the Empire know the Rebels were coming?  Just how common is the word "sleemo" in that galaxy far, far away?  Why doesn't the Geonosian queen from the Vader comic show up on their bio scans?  Was it weird to see Kallus and Zeb just sitting there talking to each other? Did it make sense?  It's true that Zeb and Kallus are honorable to each other and themselves, but what about the factions they belong to? Is Zeb honoring his Rebel friends when he doesn't take Kallus into custody? Does Kallus honor his vow to serve the Empire when he doesn't kill the rebel Zeb?  This personal reconciliation between enemies could have drastic effects down the road. What will happen the next time Zeb and Kallus meet? What will happen if their respective factions find out what they did (or didn't do, in this case)? But on the positive side, could Kallus become an informant on the Empire? Could he join the Rebels? Why does Admiral Constantine disregard Kallus at the end? What will his life in the Empire be like now? Why does he keep the meteorite?  Final question: Could Kallus and Zeb both leave their factions and have their own odd couple adventures?  He’s a neat freak who’s a stickler for the rules. He’s a shedding Lasat who likes to put his feet up. Coming this fall to ABC Family, it's Imp and the Lasat. Only five more episodes left in season 2! Thanks for reading and listening! Send us a voicemail or email us at forcechildren@gmail.com if you want to take part in the discussion or just give us some feedback.
