Nach dem schrecklichen Ghorman-Massaker und Mon Mothmas Flucht von Coruscant ist erneut ein Jahr vergangen – aber keiner unserer Protagonisten war in der Zwischenzeit inaktiv: Lonni hat Schreckliches entdeckt und informiert Luthen, gleichsam kann Dedra endlich Axis ausfindig machen – und stellt damit Kleya vor eine unmögliche Entscheidung.
