THEORY SABERS - https://www.theorysabers.com/ MERCH - https://www.swtheorymerch.com/ Order 65, a contingency plan within the Republic's legal framework, authorized the Senate or the Supreme Commander, which in this case being, Chancellor Palpatine, to be removed from power if deemed unfit or treasonous. If this happened during the events of Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, Order 65 could have drastically altered the galaxy's fate. By exposing Palpatine's manipulation and his secret identity as Darth Sidious, the Jedi could have united the Republic's forces, including the clone troopers, against him instead of being targeted by Order 66. This would have preserved the Jedi Order, potentially avoided the rise of the Empire, and allowed Anakin Skywalker to fulfill his role as the Chosen One without succumbing to the dark side. The survival of the Jedi would have meant a stronger, unified resistance against the Sith's influence, fundamentally changing the balance of power in the galaxy and preserving hope and peace for generations. In this episode of Star Wars Generations, host Matthew takes control to discuss his favorite episodes from Season 1 of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, specifically episodes 11–14. These episodes cover two distinct arcs: the "Dooku Captured" storyline and the Lurmen episodes, "Jedi Crash" and "Defenders of Peace."The first arc introduces fans to the infamous pirate Hondo Ohnaka as he captures Count Dooku, then subsequently captures Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker when they come to verify Dooku's imprisonment. The hosts discuss how this storyline showcases the comedic potential of The Clone Wars through the witty banter between Obi-Wan, Anakin, and Dooku. They examine how this arc highlights characters who aren't invested in the war but are simply trying to profit from it.What does the Lurmen arc reveal about Jedi philosophy? The hosts explore how the second storyline presents thought-provoking questions about war, peace, and the Jedi Order's role as "peacekeepers." When Ahsoka Tano, Anakin Skywalker, and Aayla Secura crash-land on a planet inhabited by the pacifist Lurmen, they encounter a society that challenges their fundamental beliefs about violence and defense.Topics the hosts discussed:How Hondo Ohnaka's introduction marks a memorable debut despite his character evolving significantly in later appearancesWhether the strict pacifism of the Lurmen is portrayed as admirable or impracticalHow Ahsoka serves as an audience surrogate for young viewers grappling with complex ethical questionsWhat Tee Watt Kaa's challenge to Aayla Secura about true peacekeeping reveals about the Jedi's contradictionsThe episode concludes with the hosts looking forward to upcoming discussions, including their book club covering Mask of Fear from the Reign of the Empire series and their planned coverage of Andor Season 2 when it releases next month. **************************************************************************This episode is a production of Star Wars Generations, a The Ethical Panda Podcast and part of the TruStory FM Entertainment Podcast Network. Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 1: Alex's Favorite EpisodesIn this episode of Star Wars Generations, Matthew and Alex continue our coverage of Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 1 by discussing Alex's favorite episodes. After covering Erin's favorites in our previous episode, we dive into Alex's selection of three self-contained stories: Episode 5 "Rookies," Episode 10 "Lair of Grievous," and Episode 15 "Trespass."We begin by exploring why Alex chose these particular episodes, noting how they effectively establish major themes that run throughout the entire series. Each episode, while self-contained, provides crucial insights into different aspects of the Clone Wars conflict—from clone individuality to the war's effect on Jedi, to the impact on neutral worlds caught in the crossfire. What makes "Rookies" a standout episode?"Rookies" introduces key clone characters like Echo and Fives, who later become essential to the series' narrative. We discuss how the episode demonstrates that despite being genetically identical, the clones develop distinct personalities and approaches to problem-solving. The episode highlights the sacrifices made by clone troopers and establishes Captain Rex's leadership style as someone who leads from the front. How does "Lair of Grievous" reveal the war's impact on the Jedi Order? We examine how this episode explores the transformation of Jedi through the character of Nahdar Vebb, Kit Fisto's former Padawan. We discuss how the war has changed Nahdar, making him more aggressive and vengeful—traits that ultimately lead to his death. The episode foreshadows Anakin's potential fall and showcases the pressure the war places on Jedi who may not be ready for its challenges. Why is "Trespass" significant to the larger Star Wars narrative? We break down how "Trespass" tackles themes of colonization and indigenous rights through the conflict between the Pantorans and the Talz. We discuss how the episode portrays the growth of Senator Riyo Chuchi as she finds her voice and chooses diplomacy over war, contrasting with the Chairman's rigid militaristic stance.Other topics we cover include:The origins of General Grievous and the horror elements in his portrayalHow rushed training affects both clone troopers and Jedi Padawans during wartimeCaptain Rex's character traits that make him a fan-favoriteThe connection between the Talz and characters seen in the original Star Wars filmSenator Riyo Chuchi's character development and her later importance in the seriesYoda's concern that the war is threatening the Jedi's identityThe discussion concludes with a reminder about our sponsor, Level Up Lightsabers, and information about becoming a podcast member to access bonus content including our continuing coverage of the From a Certain Point of View book. **************************************************************************This episode is a production of Star Wars Generations, a The Ethical Panda Podcast and part of the TruStory FM Entertainment Podcast Network. Erin and Matthew break down Episode 7 of Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, bringing us closer to the highly anticipated finale. As the series approaches its climactic end at At-Aton, our hosts dive deep into the shocking revelations about Jod's true nature and the mysterious vault planet's secrets. What turned Jod from a potential ally into the show's main antagonist? The hosts explore this dramatic shift as they discuss his brutal actions, including the shocking decapitation of SM33 and his cruel taunting of the children. They examine whether his past and possible connection to the Jedi Order might explain his antagonism toward the "sheltered and spoiled" kids of At-Aton.Why is At-Aton so significant in the Star Wars universe? Matthew and Erin unpack the revelation that this secretive world serves as a Republic vault planet, complete with rare Deerity coins and strict protocols for receiving emissaries. They question the timeline of these diplomatic visits and debate the effectiveness of the planet's security measures.Key topics discussed:The parents' desperate attempt to send a distress beacon and their encounter with the unnervingly polite security droidsThe significance of "claimsies" and the pirate code in the children's escape attemptHow Jod's possession and use of a lightsaber changes our understanding of his characterThe possibility of SM33's survival despite being decapitatedParallels between Skeleton Crew and classic 1980s adventure filmsThe show's accessibility to casual Star Wars fansComparisons to other pirate-themed media like Black SailsNo bonus content this week **************************************************************************This episode is a production of Star Wars Generations, a The Ethical Panda Podcast and part of the TruStory FM Entertainment Podcast Network. Order 65, a contingency plan within the Republic's legal framework, authorized the Senate or the Supreme Commander, which in this case being, Chancellor Palpatine, to be removed from power if deemed unfit or treasonous. Chapter 21 of Star Wars: Dark Force Rising (1992) (EU: 9 ABY) by Timothy Zahn. All links are available in this chapter's documentShare this link to find your preferred podcast player## The Story So Far ##Mara Jade's life as the Emperor's Hand was destroyed when Luke and Vader defeated the Emperor. She is still haunted by dreams of a violent assassination. Despite her mortal grudge against Skywalker, Mara was forced to help him escape Imperial capture on Myrkr.Thrawn tricked Mara into leading his flagship straight to Karrde's hiding place. While aboard, Mara used hardwired access codes to get information that would aid her in freeing Karrde and find the one person she thinks can help her: Skywalker.Luke has come to Jormark to submit to the teachings of a presumed Jedi Master, hoping to gain knowledge to help rebuild the Jedi Order. He both feels his own studies are incomplete, and is intimidated by the task of passing this knowledge on to a new generation of Jedi. Already, his efforts to teach Leia highlight the these difficulties. They both seem the target of multiple Imperial abductions and have been forced into the defensive.Master C'baoth is not the exemplary Jedi that he would have hoped to find, and Luke finds it hard to accept his philosophy. Under almost constant fatigue and after another disappointing instruction, Luke is sent by C'baoth to his chambers, so that the older Jedi may surreptitiously repel an inbound Mara.## Chapter 21 ##With the repulsorlift damaged, Mara stabilises the Skipray in a controlled glide. Activating the sublight drive at the last minute, she puts her craft down in the crags of the mountain, though not as close to the summit as she would have liked. She shoulders her ysalamir and begins to ascend the mountainside. She doesn't make it two metres before R2-D2 intercepts her in Luke's X-Wing. Sliding back down to the Skipray, she tells R2 that she has come to warn Luke of C'baoth's allegiance to the Empire, and the droid agrees to take her the rest of the way up.In a clearing at the edge of the mountaintop castle, the mad Jedi Master is waiting. C'baoth wants to keep Luke to himself, but Mara feels confident to take him under the protective bubble of her ysalamir and with C'baoth at blasterpoint. C'baoth boasts of his prophetic power, gloating that one day Mara will submit herself to him willingly.Allerted by a disturbance in the Force, Luke arrives. Luke doesn't seem to need convincing to help Mara in her quest to release Karrde. C'baoth dismisses Mara's intentions, belabouring the grand importance of his mentorship. Seeing Luke's tiredness, she moves closer — and as the bubble of the ysalamir's influence covers Luke, he awakens from the influence of the Jedi Masters. The mad Jedi lashes out to subdue his would-be mentees, but in the ensuing clash, Luke's X-wing is forgotten and R2-D2 uses the laser cannons to knock the Jedi Master unconscious. While Mara wants to execute the treacherous old Jedi, Luke stays her hand. He instead delivers the old man back to his castle, believing that he could one day be healed of his madness.Luke sends R2 back to Coruscant with his X-wing and journeys with Mara to infiltrate the Chimaera and free Talon Karrde.## Join Us ##Discuss with us on Discord or YouTubeSupport us on PatreonOur WebsiteSupport the show

Welcome to Star Wars Generations, where hosts Erin, Alex, and Matthew dive deep into the galaxy far, far away! In this episode, the trio tackles the controversial yet thought-provoking film, The Last Jedi. Buckle up for a thrilling discussion that challenges expectations and explores new perspectives on the Star Wars universe. This movie had so much to discuss that we'll likely to return to some of the themes we didn't get to explore in a part II.The hosts kick off by addressing the burning question: Is The Last Jedi a masterpiece or a misfire? (Spoilers, we love it). They explore how the film subverts traditional Star Wars tropes and pushes the boundaries of what fans expect from the franchise. The conversation delves into the movie's portrayal of failure and its impact on character growth, particularly for Luke, Rey, Poe, and Finn. One of the most hotly debated topics is Luke Skywalker's character arc. The hosts ponder: Does Luke's portrayal in The Last Jedi stay true to his legacy? They discuss the significance of Luke's disillusionment with the Jedi Order and how it reflects larger themes within the Star Wars Saga. The episode also tackles the controversial Canto Bight sequence. The hosts examine whether this subplot serves a greater purpose in the narrative or if it's a distracting detour. They debate the effectiveness of the film's commentary on war profiteering and its place within the Star Wars universe.Other topics covered include:The stunning visuals of the Holdo Maneuver and its implications for Star Wars loreVice Admiral Holdo's leadership style and its reception among fansRey's journey and the reveal of her parentageThe evolving relationship between Rey and Kylo RenLeia's use of the Force and its execution on screenThe film's approach to the nature of the Force and balanceAs the discussion wraps up, the hosts reflect on how The Last Jedi challenges viewers to reconsider their preconceptions about Star Wars. They emphasize the film's bold choices and its potential impact on the future of the franchise. Grab your Jedi robes and your lightsaber and get ready to get heated as Andrew and Presley discuss this contentious series and lets just say one of them gets a little passionate...All our Links: https://linktr.ee/seasononepodSeason Spoiler Synopsis: The Acolyte is a Disney+ original Star Wars series. Set at the end of the High Republic era (about 100 years prior to the Skywalker Saga), the series follows Osha Aniseya (Amandla Stenberg) and Jedi Master Sol (Lee Jung-jae) as they investigate a series of Jedi murders. Osha is a former Padawan learner of Sol's, now a meknek who earns credits to live by fixing starships as part of a crew. Jedi Master Indara (Carrie-Anne Moss) is murdered by a mysterious unidentified Force user, believed to be Osha. Osha is arrested and claims innocence and must go with the Jedi to Coruscant to prove her innocence. Meanwhile, we see Osha's twin sister Mae meet with her friend Qimir (Manny Jacinto) after killing Indara and discusses her plot to murder the four Jedi responsible for the fire that killed her family. As Osha, Sol, and his team of Jedi investigate the murder of Indara and subsequently Jedi Master Torbin (Dean-Charles-Chapman) they discover that Mae is behind the murders and is seeking revenge. Osha and Sol chase Mae to Khofar where Jedi Master Kelnacca has isolated himself in a forest, in an attempt to apprehend her and prevent another murder. Mae finds Kelnacca already killed by lightsaber, and is confronted by Sol and his team. Qimir reveals himself as the Stranger, the powerful force user that has been training Mae, and fights Sol's entire team. He states that the Jedi might call him "Sith" and that he intends to kill them all to keep his existence a secret. Qimir kills all the Jedi but Sol, who overpowers him but is saved by Osha who attaches a light to Qimir so that a colony of umbramoths carries him away. Mae uses Osha's stun gun on Sol so they can talk, but the two disagree about one another's choices after the fire on Brendok that killed their coven. The two fight, ending with Mae knocking Osha unconscious by throwing her backward with the Force and stealing her clothes to impersonate Osha. Mae goes with Sol and Osha is taken by Qimir. Sol works out that Mae has gone in Osha's place, and Qimir discusses his philosophy of the Force with Osha. Flashbacks show Osha deciding to leave the witch coven on Brendok to become a Jedi, and Mae setting their room on fire with Osha trapped inside in anger. We also see the coven fight against the Jedi which leads to the death of the witches in a close fight. On present day Brendok, a final confrontation occurs where Sol and Qimir face-off which results in a confession from Sol that he killed their mother, which enrages Osha causing her to grab his lightsaber, bleed the kyber crystal, and kill him with the Force. After this the sisters reconcile and Osha agrees to leave with Qimir to train, while Qimir wipes Mae's memory. Mae is collected by Jedi led by Venestra Rwoh, a senior member of the Jedi Order. Venestra blames the murders of Indara, Torbin, Kelnecca, and the witches of Brendok on Sol, despite the fact she senses Qimir's involvement. The series end with the revelation that Qimir was once Venestra's apprentice and Venestra reports to Jedi Master Yoda in the final scene.

After sharing our thoughts about the game in the six months since its release and exploring our predictions for leader cards in the upcoming set, Twilight of the Republic, we switch hyperlanes to discuss a topic that's always on our minds, The Force. We discuss how it has been utilized in the canon thus far, the broad spectrum of Force powers, and how Rey Skywalker can reinvent the Jedi Order to allow attachment, instill selflessness and limit lightsabers to a deserved few to restore a sense of sacredness to the weapon of a Jedi Knight.

Leslye Headland's The Acolyte, streaming on Disney+, is unique in more ways than one. As one of the most diverse Star Wars series, in front of and behind the scenes, with writers like the SWANA and Turkish Kor Adana, it presents a bold story in the era of The High Republic, showcasing the mistakes made by those in power and the reverberations for our main characters. Namely, twins Osha and Mae (Amandla Stenberg), Jedi Master Sol (Lee Jung-jae), Qimir (Manny Jacinto), as well as many others. To dive into this series and what it's trying to say, we have back on Arezou and welcome Noor. As both are High Republic fans, they bring invaluable insight into the discussion, as the series sets the backdrop for The Acolyte. What stood out to us? Does the series do a good job of portraying the Jedi Order? What does it have to say about how we view this universe and good and evil? We dive into all of that, give our recommendations, and much more.   SPOILERS for The Acolyte throughout Follow Arezou on social media @ArezouAmin and follow Noor @nimblenoor Donate to help Sudanese people feeling geopolitical violence Decolonize Palestine Support the Palestinian American Medical Association (PAMA) and families in Gaza Six ways you can support Palestinians in Gaza Islamic Relief USA: Support Families in Palestine   Our music is composed by Ashley Hefnawy. Using examples from Star Wars, Avatar: The Last Airbender, and the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Matthew and Riki examine the complex factors that can lead even the most heroic figures down a dark path.Is Anakin Skywalker solely to blame for his transformation into Darth Vader, or do the Jedi Order and Palpatine share responsibility for his fall? How much did the differing upbringings of Zuko and Azula shape their destinies? And what role did Killmonger's experiences with racial injustice play in his turn?  Through their nuanced discussion, Matthew and Riki explore the tension between personal accountability and the impact of circumstances and institutional failures. They argue for moving beyond simplistic notions of blame to instead ask what lessons can be learned to prevent future tragedies. The hosts apply this lens to their own lives as well, reflecting on how self-examination and breaking generational cycles are key to growth.Other topics covered include:The importance of good mentorship and emotional support for vulnerable youthHow authoritarian regimes can re-emerge in the wake of revolution South Africa's Truth & Reconciliation Commission as a model for societal healingBonus content for members on the upcoming Acolyte show! "Realization" is the right word for this Barriss Offee episode of Tales of the Empire, as Barriss finally understands that there are worse things in the galaxy than the Jedi Order - and not only did she help enable it, but she also became a part of it.
