In this discussion, CoopaDil & KRizz peer into the decline of the Jedi Order before the events of Order 66, analyzing whether they were already in decline or trapped in a changing galaxy. Also discussed are the political, structural, and philosophical shifts that led to their fall, offering new perspectives on the prequel era.Key Topics: Jedi influence versus independence - political pressure and systemic change - the role of Order 66 in the Jedi's fall - the impact of the Clone Wars on Jedi identity - Palpatine's manipulation and observation of the Jedi - structural pressures leading to decline.Takeaways: The Jedi were at their peak in influence but not independence sent; political and systemic pressure is gradually eroded Jedi authority; Order 66 was the culmination of a slow decline, not the start; the Clone Wars shifted Jedi roles from peacekeepers to soldiers; Palpatine's strategic observation was key to their downfall!Subscribe, rate and leave us a 5-star written review on Apple Podcasts, Deepcast.fm, Spotify or GoodPods. Qui-Gon Jinn had a girlfriend. Her name was Tahl, a Jedi Knight he trained with, and in the old Jedi Apprentice books he falls for her, breaks the Jedi Order's rule against attachment, and lies about it to everyone including himself. It starts with a vision of her in danger that he hides from the Council and from her. I covered this in a video almost 8 or 9 years ago. When she goes undercover on a dangerous mission alone, he defies the Jedi Council to chase her across the galaxy, years before he ever defies them over Anakin. On the planet he finally admits the truth, that she isn't just a friend or a fellow Jedi, she's his heart, and the two of them pledge themselves to each other against everything they're supposed to be. Then the trap closes. Tahl is taken, and across the books that follow, the loss pulls Qui-Gon to the edge of the dark side for revenge. It's the same trap that takes Anakin down, and Qui-Gon lived it first. This is yet another example of how amazing Qui-Gon Jinn would have been to help Anakin Skywalker through his life and guide him in all his struggles with his Mother and Padme. In the vast universe of Star Wars, the Jedi have long been viewed as the guardians of peace and justice. On paper, the Jedi Order seemed to be thriving during the prequel trilogy with thousands of members and significant presence. Within the Galactic Republic, they appeared to wield immense influence. Instead, some became entangled in a system, that often compromises their core values. The Jedi order faced internal divisions that stemmed from differing opinions about Anakin Skywalker, the chosen one. This lack of consensus, created an environment of uncertainty that permeated The Order. With the rise of Palpatine and the shifting tides of power, the Jedi‘s role became increasingly ambiguous. Enter stage left, The Sith Order! The Sith are an order of Force-sensitive beings and the main antagonist in the Star Wars universe. Listen in to peer into the ideological antithesis and ancient enemies of the Jedi, if you dare. May the force be with you!Calling all Star Wars fans, which of the definitive Sith Order antagonists made the dark side of The Force awaken for you? Were you team Ancient Sith & Founders (Darth Bane, Lady Shaa, Lord Momin, Darth Atrius..) or team The Rule of Two (Darth Plagueis, Darth Sidious, Darth Maul, Darth Tyranus a.k.a. In Star Wars, the most powerful, disciplined, and highly trained people in the galaxy all failed. The Jedi Order fell. The Empire collapsed. Even the chosen one became Darth Vader. So how did a farm boy with barely any training, Luke Skywalker, become the one who saved everything? Tonight on the Sarlacc Digest, we break down the idea that maybe Star Wars isn't about destiny or training… but about breaking the system entirely. Was Luke actually the only one who could have saved the galaxy? Did the Jedi way lead to their own downfall? And what if the real message of Star Wars is that the system meant to create heroes… was wrong? We also touch on the current state of Star Wars as we wait for upcoming projects like the Maul series and The Mandalorian & Grogu. Join us live and let us know in chat:

Long before Palpatine plotted the downfall of the Jedi Order... long before Darth Plagueis was wise... long before Darth Bane initiate the Rule of Two... and long before Darth Revan lost his memory and thought he was a Jedi, there were the SithMillennia before the epic ever came to the cultural zeitgeist, a species of violent, warmongering Force users steeped in the Dark Side ruled their corner of the Outer Rim from the planet Korriban.Join Mark, Brian, and Garrett as they discuss the lore behind the alien race whose name became assumed by more powerful Dark Side users and learn about those who preceded the anti-Jedi.Also, we're pretty sure one of Faith Hill's late-90's country-pop classics was a secret Star Wars song.
The Force binds the galaxy together, yet not everyone understands it the same way. The Republic tries to maintain unity among these diverse perspectives. But unity requires trust—and trust can be difficult to maintain. As our reading continues, the atmosphere grows more intense. Who's the baddest mutha in the galaxy? Who's got the most purplest lightsaber this side of the Kessel Run? Which bad-ass brutha pretty much represents the worst excesses of the Jedi Order? That's right... we're talkin' 'bout Shaf- errr... Mace Windu who walked a thin line between love and hate when it came to wielding the only lightsaber in existence with the initials BAMF on the hilt.Oh... and we offer our opinions on the #Mandalorian and #Grogu #SuperbowlLX trailer.Join Mark and Garrett as they bump it to some Mace and offer a Windu into this Prequel-Era character's cool characterization while simultaneously being the walking embodiment of why Palpatine needed Order 66.
'a day mid January THERE was a disturbance felt in the FORCE' Kathleen Kennedy's control of Lucasfilm and Star Wars has come to an end. It was a COLD day in mid January at FARHQ, in the Awakens Base LOL LOL LOL January 15 'in the year of our STAR WARS' return 2026, when Lucasfilm announced that after 14 years of leading the studio, President Kathleen Kennedy was stepping down Dave Filoni, who worked closely with creator George Lucas to build the Lucasfilm animation department on Star Wars: The Clone Wars and helped launch Star Wars live-action series alongside Jon Favreau on The Mandalorian, will take on creative leadership of the company as President and Chief Creative Officer and Lynwen Brennan will serve as Co-President. Their close collaboration and more than 30 years of combined senior executive experience will carry Lucasfilm into its next chapter of storytelling, with a strong foundation of creative vision and operational leadership guiding the studio forward. On the latest episode of Fandom Awakens Radio 'Now TWO there are ...... Filoni v Brennan a New Character Begins Days of Future Star Wars - Your hosts David Senden and Kyle Wagner discuss highlights taken from Kathy's exit interview, we discuss the 2 Co-presidents thing (very interesting to GO all in on a James Gunn / Peter Safran DC Studios esc approach) Upcoming Star Wars movie projects, heavily focused on a theatrical return in 2026-2027, include The Mandalorian & Grogu (May 22, 2026), Shawn Levy's Starfighter (May 28, 2027), and Dave Filoni's New Republic-era film. Other active projects include a Rey-centric New Jedi Order film and a new trilogy from Simon Kinberg. Here is a breakdown of the announced Star Wars film projects: Definite & In-Development Films Untitled Rey Skywalker Movie: Directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, focusing on rebuilding the Jedi Order. Simon Kinberg Trilogy: A new trilogy currently in development. Projects in Limbo or Unknown Status Rogue Squadron: Patty Jenkins' project, previously shelved but reportedly back in consideration. James Mangold's Dawn of the Jedi: A "biblical epic" exploring the origin of the Force. Taika Waititi's Star Wars Movie: Announced, but with no firm production timeline. Lando: Originally a series, now being developed as a movie with Donald Glover. Ok I am gonna say (and WE all know far too well what a LOT of SW fans today LACK, patience .............. funny when you consider everything they learned they learned from Kenobi and Yoda LOL but anyway), I'd say the odds of a LOT of these projects seeing the light of day just SHOT up, as long as Disney's new CEO (unlike Bob the Blunder halfwit), doesn't try anything STUPID. That Hunt for Ben Solo situation told us a LOT a LOT, of what has really been a problem in Star Wars ....................... and it was NOT the internet's favorite Boogywoman, cause here's some reality for you, had she NOT taken the job at the time GL asked her *sigh* I think Star Wars would have truly come to an END HAHAHAHA to paraphase how YODA might it "Now TWO there are ...... Filoni v Brennan a New Character Begins Days of Future Star Wars" a BRAND NEW episode of Fandom Awakens Radio starts RIGHT NOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Welcome to another episode of the Geek Freaks Podcast! In this session, hosts Frank and Jonathan dive deep into the psychology of fictional resistance, analyze the gritty evolution of a fan-favorite Sith, and discuss why the upcoming He-Man movie is embracing its vibrant roots. Episode Summary Are we living in an Empire? Frank and Jonathan kick off the show by questioning our fascination with fictional rebellions. From the underground movements in The Handmaid's Tale and Star Trek to the reality-shattering resistance of The Matrix, we break down which groups actually stand a chance. We also provide a full reaction to the Maul: Shadow Lord trailer, exploring Dave Filoni's darker shift in Star Wars animation. Finally, we look at the meta-fantasy world of the new Masters of the Universe film and share our latest HBO watchlist recommendations including Hacks and The Pit. Timestamps and Topics 00:00:00 – Intro, Question of the Week: Rebels in fiction we cheer for . 00:04:23 – Quick real-life check-in and keeping it together through a stressful news cycle . 00:05:08 – Star Wars: Maul: Shadow Lord trailer reaction and what the POV shift could mean . 00:11:13 – Masters of the Universe trailer talk, Jared Leto as Skeletor, tone, and first impressions . 00:16:29 – God of War series update: Cast talk, what fans should expect, and where the show could land. 00:22:05 – Fable showcase reaction: Humor, vibe, and why this reboot could work. 00:26:48 – Marvel's Wonder Man spotlight: Who he is, why he matters, and what the show might be going for. 00:39:58 – Release-week plan for Wonder Man and quick network updates. 00:42:48 – Weekly recommendations: Starfleet Academy, Hacks, and The Pit. 00:45:06 – Wrap-up. Key Takeaways Effective Rebellion: Jonathan argues that "The Dawn" from The Handmaid's Tale is a superior rebel group due to their infiltration tactics, whereas the Maquis were too easily dismantled. The Maul Evolution: The upcoming Shadow Lord series aims for a darker, "Rated R" feel, focusing on Maul's pursuit of freedom through the criminal underworld rather than the Jedi/Sith binary. Critique of the Jedi: The hosts discuss how the Jedi Order often pursued "control" under the guise of "balance," making Maul's perspective more relatable to some viewers. Embracing the Vibrant: Unlike many "dark and gritty" reboots, the new Masters of the Universe is leaning into the colorful, fun, and meta aspects of the original 80s property. Memorable Quotes "When did we vote for the Empire? Why did we end up this way?" – Frank "The Dawn... they are so well embedded. They're very sneaky." – Jonathan "The Jedi Order is not perfect either... the balance they were pursuing was not balance. It was control." – Jonathan "Justice comes at the tip of a lightsaber." – Frank Call to Action If you enjoyed this deep dive, please subscribe and leave us a review on your favorite podcast platform! Matthew, Erin, and Alex dive into the Clone Wars' most mystical and mind-bending storyline: the Mortis arc. When Anakin, Obi-Wan, and Ahsoka are summoned to a Force-rich realm where three powerful beings—the Father, the Son, and the Daughter—control the balance between light and dark, everything we thought we knew about the Chosen One prophecy gets turned upside down. These episodes introduce cosmic Force mythology that reverberates throughout Star Wars, from Rebels to Ahsoka, yet they leave more questions than answers about destiny, balance, and what it truly means to be the Chosen One.Questions We Discussed:What does the Chosen One prophecy actually mean, and did Anakin fulfill it?How do the Father, Son, and Daughter represent the different aspects of the Force? Why does the Father's passivity lead to disaster, and what does that say about the Jedi Order?Does "balance" mean equal light and dark, or the destruction of the Sith? How does Mortis connect to later Star Wars series like Rebels and Ahsoka? What makes these episodes so different from the rest of Star Wars storytelling?**************************************************************************This episode is a production of Star Wars Generations, a The Ethical Panda Podcast and part of the TruStory FM Entertainment Podcast Network. History doesn't repeat in Star Wars — it rhymes with a blaster bolt to the gut. This episode rewinds to ancient teachings, long-forgotten conflicts, and the legacies shaping the present. The Mandalore Plot Arc: Obi-Wan's Lost Love and Anakin's Dark PathStar Wars: The Clone Wars' Season Two's Mandalore trilogy of episodes explores one of the most pivotal character arcs in Star Wars. This three-episode storyline introduces Duchess Satine, reveals Obi-Wan's romantic past, and showcases a chilling moment that foreshadows Anakin's fall to the dark side.Key Questions ExploredIs pacifism realistic in wartime? The hosts debate whether Duchess Satine's complete rejection of Mandalore's warrior culture was the right approach, or if her pacifism actually enabled the very violence she sought to prevent. How did Obi-Wan's forbidden love shape his mentorship of Anakin? The episode reveals that Obi-Wan once considered leaving the Jedi Order for Satine, raising questions about whether his own romantic struggles made him too lenient with Anakin's secret marriage to Padmé.What makes Anakin's cold-blooded killing so significant? When Anakin executes Senator Tal Merrick without hesitation, the hosts analyze how this moment perfectly captures his path toward becoming Darth Vader—choosing expedient violence over Jedi restraint.Should the Republic have respected Mandalore's neutrality? The discussion examines Palpatine's manipulation tactics and whether the Senate's willingness to ignore Mandalore's sovereignty mirrors real-world political interventions.Episodes covered: "The Mandalore Plot," "Voyage of Temptation," and "Duchess of Mandalore" **************************************************************************This episode is a production of Star Wars Generations, a The Ethical Panda Podcast and part of the TruStory FM Entertainment Podcast Network. With the rigidity of the structure of the Kirin Tor and the Jedi Order, and their propensity for keeping secrets about power -- and sometimes that power for themselves -- there are a ton of parallels between these two organizations. Our hosts Matt and Joe dive deep into both the World of Warcraft universe and the Star Wars universe in order to compare and contrast the master light side wielders of the force and the best mages in Azeroth. While this doesn't imply that, for instance, Rhonin is a Jedi, it doesn't not imply it, either. If you enjoy the show, please support us on Patreon, where you can get these episodes early and ad-free!
